Xiaomi Launching 70-Inch Mi TV 3, Mi Pad 2 Sells Out In Seconds

Xiaomi announced the 60-inch 4K Mi TV 3 two months ago and now it is launching a 70-inch version of the TV. The new model will only be available for purchase in China, just like the previous release. The 70-inch Mi TVTV comes with 4K display and internal memory of 2GB that can be expanded up to 8GB.

The price is $1,540 at current exchange rates. The 60-inch variant is currently available for half of that price.

Mi Pad 2

Xiaomi had success with the Mi Pad release last year. The device quickly became a fan favorite, so the company decided to release the Mi Pad 2 last month. The tablet was released with 16GB of storage and featured the popular Android. Now the company has released a 64GB version that has Android or Windows 10. The tablet was available for $203, I say was because this version sold out in less than a minute.

The Mi Pad 2 comes with a 7.9 inch display, 2GB of RAM, 8MP camera and 5MP front camera. The device also features a 6190 mAh battery and USB Type-C.

Sales are impressive, but many are wondering what caused it to sell out this fast. The Mi Pad 2 with 16GB of storage did not sell at this pace. Was it that Xiaomi only had a number of them available since they thought it would sell like the other tablet? Were customers just waiting for a tablet with more storage? Was it the Windows 10 release?

All three make sense, but it is possible that Windows 10 gave customers a different option that many wanted to try. The company has not revealed details on the sales, but this could make them consider Windows 10 for future releases.

Sales of the tablet today could mean that many are willing to try other OS. Android is currently the leader on this category, appearing in hundreds of devices in the country. Xiaomi has already added Windows 10 to one of its smartphones and what we saw today could change things.

Mi 5

Xiaomi is having success with many of its products, but its biggest release could be next year, when the Mi 5 is finally revealed. The smartphone has been the center of rumors for months now and customers want to see it released since the Mi 4 has been out for more than a year.

What do you think about the Mi Pad 2 sales? Was it Windows 10? Was it something else? Let us know in the comments.
