It’s been a while since Motorola released a new version of the Moto X series but more and more rumors keep surfacing about a new one. A new Moto X has been rumored for quite some time but it appears that 2017 will be the year for a new version. A few rumors have already surfaced about its specs and design but the phone might even debut with a different name.
The latest leak now suggests that the phone will not be called Moto X (2017) but Moto X4. The information comes from a tweet by Evan Blass, who only mentioned the name change. The series has used the Moto X first and second generation names in its first two releases. The current Moto X does have a different name from the previous two releases and it looks like there will be another name change for the fourth Moto X in the series.
The Moto X (2017) or Moto X4 has not been unveiled but plenty of information has already surfaced on what the phone might feature. It is rumored that the phone will have dual camera technology, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. A fingerprint scanner, which was not part of the 2015 releases, is also rumored to be coming with the new Moto X.
It’s been nearly two years since the release of the third Moto X and while it was first rumored that the series would be replaced, it appears that the company is planning to unveil a new one soon. The phone has not been announced but tech news site Liliputing has shown pictures from a leaked presentation of what appears to be the new Moto X.
The pictures show part of the back of the phone, including its dual camera technology. Another picture mentions metal and 3D glass, smart camera, IP68 and turbo charging.
It’s been a long wait for fans of the Moto X series but it appears that Lenovo and Motorola are planning to bring the popular phones back soon. Are you waiting for the new Moto X? Which features would you like to see on the Moto X4? Let us know in the comments.
