7 WWE NXT Stars Who Did Not Make An Impact On The Main Roster

WWE NXT has brought so many superstars to the main roster. Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Elias Samson and Alexa Bliss have all come from the WWE NXT roster. But not all superstars that come from the NXT roster make an impact on the main roster right away. Some don’t even have the same success they had on NXT. Here are seven NXT superstars who did not make an impact on the main roster:

Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas was the NXT Champion back in 2014 but things have changed on the main roster. He has been part of many teams, including The Social Outcasts. But there hasn’t been too many title opportunities for him or any of the superstars that were on The Social Outcasts. The only one who has actually won since the team was split up is Heath Slater, who became the first WWE SmackDown tag team champion along with Rhyno after the brand split. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel recently joined The Miz, who is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion.

The Ascension

The Ascension currently holds the record for the longest NXT tag team title reign but the team hasn’t been the same on the main roster. Even with the tag team divisions only featuring a few teams, The Ascension have not had the same success. The tag team made its debut at the end of 2014 but they have not won the tag team titles. The Ascension are currently on the WWE SmackDown roster, which has The New Day as tag team champions.

Emma

Emma’s time on the main roster has been a little confusing and she has actually gone back to NXT once. The talented wrestler recently made a return to WWE Raw but not as the character that WWE had been showing us for weeks. The Emmalina character was changed after she returned to WWE Raw. The following week she returned as Emma but fans have yet to see her in the title race. She has competed to become number one contender but Nia Jax and Sasha Banks have won many of those matches.

The Vaudevillains

The Vaudevillains were an entertaining team during their time in NXT. The main roster debut came during a time were there wasn’t many tag teams in the division and it seemed like a great idea. They made their debut and quickly competed for the tag team championships but lost to The New Day, who went on to set a record as the longest WWE tag team champions. After the title opportunity, The Vaudevillains disappeared from the title race and most tag team matches ended with them losing in minutes. The end of The Vaudevillains came when WWE and Simon Gotch mutually agreed to a release. His former tag team partner remains on the WWE roster as Aiden English.

Dana Brooke

When Dana Brooke stopped helping Charlotte, some of us thought she would become a contender for the women’s championship later on. But it’s been a few months now and Brooke has lost all the matches for a title opportunity. Brooke was in a feud with former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bayley but that didn’t last long.

Austin Aries

Austin Aries was released earlier this year after a short run in the WWE Cruiserweight division. Aries had good matches with the champion Neville but there was really nowhere to go after another loss to the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. WWE did not give any details on his release but it’s been reported that Aries was not happy with being limited to the division. The Cruiserweights don’t get many matches on WWE Raw and most are left for 205 Live. Aries was only a cruiserweight for a few months after coming from NXT but fans believe he could have been good outside of the division.

Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze’s start on the main roster quickly went from good to a shocking loss streak. In April 2016, it was reported by wrestling sites that Breeze had a main roster record of 8-84. The good news for Breeze is that the losses decreased when he joined Fandango. The team of Breezango has now become a fan favorite and has been close to winning the tag team titles in recent months.
