The Nokia 8 looks like strong competition for other phones in the same category but there are some bad news for people living in the United States as an HMD Global official has confirmed that it won’t be arriving to the US.
Earlier this year, the company announced four new phones, the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and a remake of the 3310. The Nokia 6 was the only one released in the US through Amazon, which is offering it as part of its Prime phones lineup.
The bad news for Nokia fans in the US come from Florian Seiche, CEO of HMD Global, which recently acquired Nokia from Microsoft. He said in an interview on Wednesday that they are not planning to bring the Nokia 8 to the United States at this stage.
The Nokia 8 would have strong competition in the US but it is bad news for those who waited for the flagship. Customers can buy it from other markets such as the UK and Australia, where the phone will soon be available.
Nokia’s return has been huge so far, with many impressive and affordable phones. The company has also worked on keeping all customers happy by releasing a new version of the Nokia 3310, a phone that is quite popular for its nearly indestructible plastic shell and battery life.
Here are some of the specs of the Nokia 8, which won’t be seeing a US release in the near future.
– 5.3-inch display.
– Dual camera.
– Snapdragon 835 processor.
– 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.
– Dual SIM.
– 3090mAh battery.
Nokia’s flagship will be skipping a US release but we hope that the company changes its mind at some point so we can see what this phone is all about. What do you think about the Nokia 8? What do you think about Nokia’s releases in 2017? Let us know in the comments.
