The January transfer window is still a little over two months away but there are already plenty of rumors on teams that could be making moves. Barcelona, Tottenham and Manchester United are said to be some of the teams thinking about one or two big signings. Here are ten football stars that could make a move to a new club in January:
Antoine Griezmann was linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this year but the Atletico Madrid star decided to remain with his club. Now, the Spanish media is reporting that city rivals Real Madrid are interested in signing the France international. Real Madrid would have to spend a lot to bring him to the club but there is another obstacle, the fact that they are city rivals. It is unlikely that Atletico Madrid will transfer Griezmann to Real Madrid but who knows, maybe they’ll decide to spend big money.
Real Madrid is said to be interested in signing Antoine Griezmann but in order to do that they’ll need a lot of money. One of the ways to bring the France international could be by transferring Gareth Bale. The Real Madrid star has helped the club win many titles but Manchester United are said to be interested if he falls out of the starting lineup.
A few months ago, Barcelona was said to be very interested in signing Coutinho from Liverpool. A deal was never completed but the club is still said to be interested. Barcelona made huge signings this season but have not forgotten about the Brazilian midfielder, who is one of Liverpool’s best players.
The starting lineup could be very different for Arsenal in January as at least two of its stars have been rumored for a move. Manchester City is rumored to be interested in signing Sanchez in January after a move earlier this season collapsed. Manchester City went on a huge spending spree this summer but the club is reportedly looking for two major signings in January.
Ozil could be the other star to leave Arsenal in January. The German midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season and Wenger recently admitted that the club might sell Ozil and Sanchez if they do not agree on contract extensions. Recent rumors have mentioned that Ozil will move to Manchester United but he is furious at reports linking him with a move, according to The Sun.
Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers right now and at least one team is interested in signing him soon. Gianluigi Buffon recently announced his retirement date and Juventus are said to be looking for a replacement. A few months ago, reports mentioned that PSG was willing to offer Javier Pastore in a deal for the star goalkeeper. That is now unlikely as PSG will probably focus on selling some of its players during the January transfer window.
James Rodriguez is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but that could change very soon. Just a few months ago, the Colombian star was loaned by Real Madrid to Bayern Munich. The two year loan deal comes with an option for a permanent transfer but reports are now saying that the midfielder might return if Zidane is fired. That seems unlikely with all the success Zidane has had since he became the manager of Real Madrid but we know that a couple of bad results in big clubs can sometimes lead to that.
Draxler joined PSG earlier this year but he could soon be playing for a new club after the summer spending spree by the French club. PSG signed Neymar and Mbappe this season, the two most expensive transfers in football history. The club will now need to sell some of its players to make some of that money back. Draxler, Pastore, Di Maria and a few other stars could be moved in January.
Leon Goretzka has been impressive recently and has caught the attention of a few clubs, including Barcelona. The club is reportedly hoping to secure a deal in January but Schalke 04 have said he will not be sold when the transfer window opens. Goretzka will be a free agent next summer and other teams such as Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in signing the German midfielder.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has established himself as one of the best young talents in the Bundesliga and several teams are said to be interested in signing him in January. Manchester City and Barcelona are said to be interested in signing the German midfielder but several sports sites reported just a few days ago that Juventus have also entered the race.
