Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, said she did not know what he was planning.
Earlier today, reports surfaced that she had arrived to the US to speak to investigators. She was reportedly met by federal agents at the airport after traveling back from the Philippines.
Ms. Danley was in the Philippines when the attack happened. She was given a ticket to the Philippines by Paddock. Ms. Danley, born in the Philippines, had spent two weeks in country before she flew back to Los Angeles a few hours ago.
During her time in the Philippines, he wired her $100,000. Reports say he sent her the money so she could buy a house but Ms. Danley says she was worried because she thought it was a way for him to break up with her.
Paddock reportedly reserved a room at the Mandalay Bay hotel using some of her documents. From the windows of his room, he shot at a crowd in a concert. He killed 58 people and injured more than 500. Images and videos taken during the shooting show people running away and laying down on the floor.
Police found him dead in his room but they have recently said that he may have been planning to escape. Authorities found several weapons in the hotel room and his property.
Ms. Danley also said that it never occurred to her that he was planning violence against anyone. Her sisters told 7News earlier today that she had been sent away so that she would not interfere with what he was planning.
Police continue the investigation as the motive remains a mystery. The FBI recently said it had not found any link to terrorism so far.
US President Donald Trump visited Las Vegas earlier today. He praised emergency teams for their quick response and their huge effort to save lives.
