The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was released a few months ago but it is never too early to see images and videos of the next edition. The Science and Knowledge YouTube channel has posted a concept video of the Galaxy Note 9 and we have to say that the device looks a lot different from the Note 8.
The concept video begins by showing us the front, which is nearly all screen. The most interesting part about this is that there is now a notch, similar to what the iPhone X has. Samsung made fun of the notch in an ad a few weeks back, so it seems unlikely that they will now go this direction. But we never know as other smartphones are also rumored to be featuring a notch.
The back of the device looks quite similar to the current version. There is a dual-camera setup with flash and fingerprint sensor next to it. The placement of the fingerprint sensor was something that many users didn’t like with the Galaxy S8 and Note 8. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen that Samsung could be switching the placement for its next releases. The company recently announced the Galaxy A8 and A8+ and they both have the fingerprint sensor right under the camera. A few days later, case listings for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ showed a fingerprint sensor under the camera as well. Reports have also mentioned that the Galaxy Note 9 will have an under-display fingerprint sensor. That feature is mentioned in the video but only for payments.
The video also reveals some of the specs, including options of 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of storage. A Snapdragon 845 processor, Android 8.0, 16MP dual cameras, 13MP front camera, 3,850mAh battery and Quick Charge 4.0 are also mentioned in the video.
The Galaxy Note 9 is still far from its release but it’s always cool to see videos on what the phone might feature. The next phone from the company, besides the Galaxy A8 and A8+ which will be released this month, is rumored to be the Galaxy S9. The flagship smartphone has already appeared in case listings, letting us know that there will be a big change this year. That change is on the camera, which could be different on the Galaxy S9 and S9+. The case listings have shown that there is a single camera on the back of the S9 while there is a dual-camera setup for the S9+.
