Latest news.

Robert Durst's plea deal became an 85 month (7 years, 1 month) sentence in federal prison because of the possibility of other state and federal charges being brought against him.

He was scheduled to be moved to a federal prison in California by August 18, 2016 to stand trial for the murder of his friend Susan Berman, but after a second spinal fusion surgery in July, he was instead was transferred to one of the two 'level 3' medical facilities in the federal prison system, located in Terre Haute, Indiana.

His primary defense attorney, Dick DeGuerin, says he does not know why Durst was transferred there and both him and his client want to get to California as soon as possible to begin the Berman murder trial.
