Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain DLC Coming In March

The upcoming Metal Gear Online downloadable content campaign will be called Cloaked in Silence and will feature Quiet as a playable character. It will also add Appeal poses and three new maps.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released on September 1 but the studio has managed to keep players entertained by working on the multiplayer section of the game. Just a few hours ago, the developer announced a new online multiplayer DLC called Cloaked in Silence.

The name is actually used on one of the single player missions and the downloadable content will add the sniper Quiet as a new playable character. Gamers will be able to take out enemies with Quiet’s sniper rifle and use her cloaking ability to attack them.

The DLC also adds a new Appeal Action option which unlocks a number of poses for each character. The content also includes three new maps. Here are the names of the maps: Azure Mountain, Rust Palace and Coral Complex.

The Cloaked in Silence content will be released in March and will cost $4. The Appeal pose packs will also be available for $2 each. The game will also release free content for Metal Gear Online on the same day. The mission called Sabotage will debut alongside the DLC, so there will be plenty of new content available next month.

Success

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received great reviews and was a commercial success, but the release of the online section was affected by server problems and the developer rewarded the game’s fans by adding in-game bonuses. Since the slow online launch, the developer has worked hard to fix the issues and make the feature as good as the single player of the game.

The DLC announcement also indicates that Konami is supporting the title and is trying to keep fans on the game. As many of us know by now, the company and creator Hideo Kojima decided to go different ways and he is now part of a new studio. The developer could continue the franchise without Kojima but for now, we have plenty of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain content. The game, despite all the drama, was one of the best last year and it will be interesting to see what Konami releases without Kojima, who was an important piece of the franchise.
