If you actually followed him, you would know that his acting career is very much as the same “character” on his YouTube channel – I wouldn’t be so sure that Dax is a character. He admitted during the course of his vlogs that “Bernice Juach” was a fake name – which would make sense at that age to have parents say you cannot use their real name. He wanted to go by Dax Flame, but at some point also use a “real” name – hence Bernice. His roles in 21 Jump Street and project X, as well as his book, all track with the idea that the Dax we see on video is the real guy.

Although I’m sure his birth name probably is Madison Patrello, there are no reliable sources saying so, by which I mean only that no reputable news organizations have bothered actually getting the facts about this guy. His acting is credited under Dax Flame, and it’s entirely possible that he legally changed his name to this at some point after the Youtube popularity.

A lot of those old videos of his are still pretty funny to me, and it’s kind of amazing how he was able to create this unique character that still sticks in the mind years later.
