In reply to rykm. Preach Rykm! I saw the same issues. Yes, the biggest error was the name change from The Jackson Five to The Jacksons. The name change was actually related to the fact that Motown owned The Jackson Five name. The name "The Jacksons" was used when they moved to Epic Records, without Jermaine. Jermaine remained with Motown and recorded there for years (it was his wife's family company). I could go on, ut between my response and Rykm's response you get the point. t. I am a huge Jackson fan. I also lover everything Motown especially the Temptations, The Supremes and The Jackson Five. I could not leave this article without responding.

I’m sorry but this article is full of wrong information. Michael didn’t start his professional solo career in 1987 and They didn’t change their name to the Jacksons cuz he left. They became the Jacksons when they left Motown in 1975 and Jackie was not the first to have a solo album. Michael was the first with a solo album in 1971 and then Jermaine released his in 1972 then Jackie followed but didn’t see any success cuz of timing which led to his album not getting the promotion it deserved. Michael and Jermaine’s solo albums did very well.

The Jackson’s have been touring for about 2 years now. The house they grew up in was a 2 bedroom, not a 3 bedroom, and Mama Katherine and Michael’s children now live in Calabasas CA. not Encino. Michael was also a part of the group when they were called the Jackson’s and they all, including Michael did the Destiny Tour, The Triumph Tour and The Victory Tour concerts as the Jacksons. They changed their name to that from the Jackson 5 when they left Motown records.
