The phone, which is only available in China, appears to be a huge success as it has sold out very fast. The Mi Mix comes with a 6.4-inch display and while it looks impressive, some customers would like to see a smaller version.
There are good news for those who want to see a smaller version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The company is rumored to be working on what’s being called the Mi Mix Nano, a smartphone with a 5.5-inch display. Rumors and leaks about the smaller version surfaced a few days ago but there are more good news as the Mi Mix Nano could be released as early as next month.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix has been a difficult phone to buy for people in China as the company is reportedly making only 10,000 of these phones every month. Xiaomi appears to be having a lot of success with the phone that has an impressive edgeless display, selling them in less than a minute during its first two sales. The popularity appears to have convinced Xiaomi to release a smaller version of the phone with similar specs.
The Mi Mix Nano has already appeared in a few leaks and the latest rumors are mentioning that customers won’t have to wait long to buy the phone. Industry sources claim the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano is being released next month. According to them, the release will be during the first week of December. A picture of what appears to be a Mi Mix Nano next to a Mi Mix shows that they are very similar.
Xiaomi has not confirmed the phone but there have been plenty of rumors about its specs. The smaller version of the Mi Mix is said to have a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 16 MP camera and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Rumors have also mentioned that the price could be around CNY 3,000 ($433). The Xiaomi Mi Mix starts at $516 and its most expensive version costs just $74 more and brings 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A recent leak also showed that the company might be bringing a white color option for the Mi Mix. The phone currently comes in black only.
Xiaomi said yesterday that it would announce a global product at CES, which takes place in January. It will be the first appearance for the company at the technology show.
