Amazon Prime Finally Adds Cinemax & HBO
Even though you can now watch HBO and Cinemax through Amazon Prime, you will still have to pay for the subscriptions as you normally would through another provider. That said at the bottom of this post are links for getting all of them for free for a limited time! For HBO, you will have to pay an addition $14.99 per month, which is just like if you had an HBO Now subscription. If you would prefer to watch Cinemax it will cost you $10 more per month on your membership. So to clarify, you will have to pay for both HBO and Cinemax separately from your regular Amazon Prime membership. This is a good thing though because instead of having additional apps to play HBO and Cinemax, you can now watch everything through Amazon Prime, so it is more convenient for you.
With HBO on Amazon, you will not be able to watch live channel streams like you would if you had an HBO Now account. Instead, you will need to wait until after the show airs to watch it, and you will also need to wait until after the show airs for Cinemax as well. You will get all of the OnDemand content that HBO has available through Amazon Prime and access to all of the shows currently running on the channel. You will also be able to watch older HBO shows that you might have missed when it originally aired or you want to watch again, such as “The Sopranos”, “True Blood”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The Wire.”
Some of the newer shows that you will be able to watch via HBO on Amazon are “Game of Thrones”, “Westworld”, “Girls” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” among many others. There are also a lot of other shows that currently air on HBO you might want to watch, such as “Real Time with Bill Maher” and various one-off documentaries that might interest you. You will be able to access the entire HBO Documentary Films collection through your Amazon Prime subscription, along with many comedy specials and movies.
As for Cinemax, you will get all of the original programs that the channel offers such as “Banshee” and “Quarry.” “Strike Back” and “The Knock” are also a part of the programming offered on Cinemax that you now will be able to watch on the go through Amazon Prime. There are also a lot of movies that are shown on the channel you might be interested in. Cinemax plays both older and newer movies of all genres, which will keep you entertained for hours. Along with the movies during the day, Cinemax is also known to show adult entertainment and movies late at night, so you will have access to these raunchy and erotic movies as part of the deal if you are into that sort of thing.
If you are thinking about ditching cable and moving to streaming your television shows and movies, either through PC or your smartphone, Amazon just made it a whole lot more enticing. We are getting to a point in time where all of our shows and movies will be available to us online, whether it is through services like Netflix or through Amazon Prime. If you love movies and television shows, it is well worth the extra $10 a month or $15 a month to get access to them all through your Amazon Prime account.
