Wrestlemania 33 – Title Matches Confirmed So Far

WWE Wrestlemania 33 is a little over two weeks away and the match card is almost complete, with seven title matches confirmed so far. The following episodes of WWE SmackDown and WWE Raw will probably add a few more matches to the event but fans now have an idea of the matches that will take place at Wrestlemania 33. Here are the seven title matches confirmed so far:

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will be facing Cesaro and Sheamus and Enzo Amore and Big Cass for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, the current WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, won the titles from Cesaro and Sheamous, who requested a rematch and lost due to an interference from Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson then faced Enzo Amore and Big Cass, who had defeated Cesaro and Sheamus for the title match. Gallows and Anderson won the match at WWE Fastlane but Enzo Amore and Big Cass were given a rematch a day later on the episode of WWE Raw. Cesaro and Sheamus interrupted the match and Enzo Amore and Big Cass were not able to win the titles.

On the following episode, it was announced that both teams would face each other to compete against the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions at Wrestlemania 33. The match was interrupted by the tag team champions and it was later announced that it would be a triple threat tag team championship match at Wrestlemania 33.

WWE Championship

Randy Orton won the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble but later announced he would not face Bray Wyatt, the leader of the Wyatt Family who had just won the WWE Championship. It seemed like there would be a new opponent but Randy Orton later said he was no longer part of the family and would be coming for the WWE Championship. WWE SmackDown had already announced a match to determine the number one contender but it was later decided that Randy Orton would face AJ Styles for the title opportunity. Randy Orton won that match and will now face Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 33.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Neville won two big matches against Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Rich Swann. After the second match, he said there was no one left in the cruiserweight division to face him. The WWE Cruiserweight Champion was being interviewed by Austin Aries, who had been out for a while with an injury. Aries surprised fans during the interview by disagreeing and attacking Neville. A number one contender match was later won by Aries.

WWE Universal Championship

The match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33 was confirmed weeks ago. Goldberg accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge and also challenged Kevin Owens at WWE Fastlane for the WWE Universal Championship. Goldberg then won the title and the match will now be for the WWE Universal Championship.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Bayley will be facing Charlotte and Sasha Banks at Wrestlemania 33. The match was going to be a singles match but plans were changed and Banks was told she could be in the match if she defeated Bayley. She later won the match, making it a triple threat at Wrestlemania 33.

WWE United States Championship

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens were best friends not too long ago but that changed when Kevin Owens attacked him. His decision to attack him led to the loss of the WWE Universal Championship. Chris Jericho did not attack him at the time but his appearance was enough to distract Owens, who lost the title seconds after that. Jericho later challenged Owens to a match at Wrestlemania 33. Owens said he would accept if Jericho put his title on the line. It didn’t take Jericho long to decide as he agreed seconds later.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

The WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match will have all available female superstars at Wrestlemania 33, according to the General Manager of WWE SmackDown Daniel Bryan. The current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion will face Mickie James, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Carmella. Nikki Bella will probably not compete in the match as she already has a mixed tag team match at Wrestlemania 33 but other women could be added to the title match on the following episodes of WWE SmackDown.

Wrestlemania 33 is almost here and the match card is looking very interesting so far with seven title matches and four non title matches.
