Joe Jonas the popstar was born Joseph Adam Jonas in Casa Grande, AZ on August 15th, 1989. He is most well-known for his stint in The Jonas Brothers band, but Joe is also an actor, a solo artist, and he is involved in a musical project called DNCE. Joe is no longer religious, even though he grew up in a heavily Christian family. They were so religious and conservative that he and his band of brothers once wore promise rings which meant that they would not have sex before marriage.
How Joe Jonas Got Famous
Way back in 2005, Joe recorded the song “Please Be MIne” with his brothers, Kevin and Nick. This was the song that got the Jonas Brothers in front of Columbia Records executive Steven Greenberg, and it what got the Jonas Brothers officially signed under Columbia Records. Before the Jonas Brothers even released their first album, they went on tour with many other pop stars of the early 2000’s such as Kelly Clarkson and the Backstreet Boys.
Joe Jonas and his brothers released their first album in 2006, after a bunch of delays on the part of the record label. The Album was aptly named “It’s About Time.” The boys kept touring in the months leading up to that first album, which helped to make them more well known. The Jonas Brothers also went on the Disney Channel to promote the second single from their album. The boy band ended up leaving Columbia Records and signing with Hollywood records instead.

The solo album Fastlife was not as popular as anything he did with his brothers. The album debuted at number 15 on the charts, but fell off quickly. Joe Jonas was supposed to reunite with his brothers for a tour and a new studio album, but the Jonas Brothers announced that the band was breaking up, and canceled the tour dates.
Joe Jonas began a new band with his friends Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle in 2015. The band, called DNCE, released the single Cake by the Ocean. This single made its appearance on the charts at number 79, and has since gone to number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. DNCE released their studio album in late fall of 2016. The band also has a song called Forever that was featured in the Lego Batman movie.

Currently Joe Jonas is dating Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, but he has had a prolific dating history since first becoming famous. In 2005, Joe dated Mandy VanDuyne and AJ Michalka. He then moved through Amelia Than-Aye, Taylor Swift, Camilla Belle, and many more. Sophie and Joe have been going strong since late fall of 2016.
