Will The Usos win back the tag team titles or will The New Day keep its good run since arriving to WWE SmackDown?
Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens frustration reached a high level when the matches Shane refereed in his previous feud all ended in losses. Shane then attacked Owens for talking about his children and the situation got worse when Owens attacked Vince McMahon, who had called out Owens. Since then, the two have attacked each other.
Randy Orton vs. Rusev
Randy Orton had a shocking victory against Rusev at WWE SummerSlam, defeating him in just seconds. They later had a rematch which Rusev won in seconds. A match between the two was scheduled when Orton RKO’d Aiden English and Rusev, who were celebrating the victory he had over Orton.
Natalya vs. Charlotte
Natalya had a big match at WWE SummerSlam, walking away with the victory and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. In a recent episode of WWE SmackDown, Natalya interrupted Charlotte, who was talking about Ric Flair’s medical issues and his recovery. Charlotte challenged her to a title match but was quickly interrupted by other women in the roster who also wanted a title opportunity. WWE SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan decided to schedule a fatal four-way match to determine the number one contender. The match was won by Charlotte.
Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler recently returned and began claiming that wrestlers entrances were all fans cared about. In an episode a few weeks back, he impersonated The Undertakers entrance, angering fans who thought they would see a surprise appearance by the WWE legend. Ziggler has also claimed that he is the best in-ring performer. Bobby Roode asked him to prove that and Ziggler accepted a match against him.
AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin
After successfully defending the WWE US Championship against Kevin Owens, AJ Styles brought back the open challenge. Tye Dillinger appeared and fought Styles but would go on to lose. Corbin attacked Dillinger after the match and interferences would go on for weeks. Styles offered a title match to Dillinger, who accepted. But in a rematch between Corbin and Dillinger, it was the former Money in the Bank briefcase holder who won by count out. After the match, Corbin told Styles that he would be the one to face him. The match between the two was later scheduled for the event.
