A few years ago, well, back in 1905 Florence Butt opened her own grocery store in the bottom floor of her home Kerrville, Texas and C.C. Butts Grocery Store was born. She passed the business on to her son Howard Edward Butts in 1919 after WWI and by 1929 he had expanded the company to several locations in Texas under the brand of his initials, H-E-B. Over the decades, the business has stayed in the family, meaning that today, H-E-B is one of the largest privately owned companies in Texas and with 370 locations in the state and in Mexico, the 20th largest retailer in the nation. H-E-B takes its traditionalist role seriously, donating 5% of the company’s pre-tax earnings to charity every year and up until 1976, no locations would sell alcohol or open on a Sunday.

When does H-E-B open for Black Friday?

All H-E-B locations will be opening bright and early at 6am for everything you need this Black Friday (and a few things you didn’t know you needed until you read this article!). Stores will close as per normal business hours.

2017 H-E-B Black Friday Hours:

Thanksgiving: 6am to 2pm

Black Friday: 6am to normal business close

Saturday & Sunday: normal business hours

Can you shop online or is it in-store only?

The hot deals mentioned here are in-store only and not valid for the Curbside pick-up service but you can still shop your normal items on H-E-B and use the Curbside pick-up until 4pm.

What is the H-E-B Return Policy?

If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, please return to any H-E-B location to request a refund. Returns with receipt will be processed as a credit to the original payment method. Returns with a gift receipt will be processed as a credit to a store gift card. Returns without a receipt will require a valid government-issued ID and will be processed as a credit to a store gift card. Appliances, Electronics, and Entertainment products carry a 90 days return window (with original packing/accessories, entertainment items must be unopened), and holiday/seasonal products carry a 30-day return window (with original packaging).

Some items cannot be returned and all sales on them are considered final. Please see the H-E-B website for a full exclusion list. If you made your original purchase with a method of electronic payment, H-E-B can attempt to look up your purchase if you have lost your receipt.
