The Galaxy S9 has already been mentioned in plenty of rumors but Samsung’s future flagships could offer smaller options.
Small smartphones are becoming more and more rare as the years go by. We’ve seen a few companies such as Apple bring back the small phones with the iPhone SE. That release was said to be a successful one for the company but small smartphones continue to be a rare product.
Samsung, which released three large smartphones with the Galaxy Note 8, S8 and S8 Plus earlier this year, could be planning to give customers a new option. Rumors about a Galaxy S Mini are back again, this time for the Galaxy S9 Mini. Back in July, rumors about a Galaxy S8 Mini surfaced but tech sites later reported that this release was not happening.
The latest rumors come from social media site Weibo, where it surfaced that Samsung is working on a compact smartphone with a display below five inches.
Its been a while since Samsung released a Mini version but it would be very interesting to see how a new version would look with a screen that stretches from edge to edge. The Mini rumors are nothing new as we’ve seen them in recent years but a new release would probably mean a much more affordable price and another option for those who prefer smaller smartphones.
The information does not reveal what the compact smartphone is but tech sites are reporting that it is unlikely the Galaxy A (2018) series is part of that since recent rumors and leaked specs have revealed that the phones will have displays over five inches.
Samsung is also rumored to be working on a totally different smartphone for 2018. The foldable smartphone has been making news for a few months now and we could see the technology some time next year.
