9 Favorites To Win The WWE Royal Rumble (2018)

The WWE Royal Rumble is a month away but some superstars have already announced that they will be competing in the match. The Royal Rumble match, which grants a Wrestlemania title match to the winner, will have superstars such as Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura. Those two are favorites to win it but the list of participants is just getting started and we will likely see Cena, Owens and others confirmed as entries in the next few weeks. It is difficult to predict exactly who is going to win but there are some names who simply stand out from the other participants. Here are nine favorites to win the WWE Royal Rumble (2018):

John Cena

John Cena is now a part-time performer but there is a big reason why he could win this match. The 16-time WWE Champion is just one WWE Championship win one away from breaking the record of most world title wins. In recent months, Cena has appeared in WWE SmackDown and Raw since he is considered a free agent. A Royal Rumble win would give him a title opportunity and who knows, maybe we’ll see him face AJ Styles again. The two have had great matches in the past but have never faced each other at Wrestlemania.

Roman Reigns

The Big Dog has been a favorite for previous editions and it is no different for the next one. Reigns currently holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship but its been rumored that we could see a Lesnar vs. Reigns rematch at Wrestlemania. The only way for this to happen is if Reigns wins the match, which wouldn’t be very surprising since he has been one of the last few standing in recent editions and actually won it back in 2015.

The Women’s Royal Rumble was recently announced and one of the favorites is Asuka, who is still undefeated. The former NXT Women’s Champion interrupted Alexa Bliss’s segment on the most recent episode of WWE Raw to let everyone know that she is going to be in the Women’s Royal Rumble.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens has been a WWE Universal Champion, Intercontinental Champion and United States Champion in recent months, so we can’t really count him out on winning this match. There was a spoiler that revealed the main event for WWE Fastlane, letting everyone know that the Royal Rumble will probably not come from WWE SmackDown. WWE does have time to change that so we can’t rule out any of the WWE SmackDown participants.

Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles is the match that a lot of people want to see. The dream match can only happen if Nakamura wins the 2018 Royal Rumble. This match has happened in other promotions but it would still be an amazing one to watch at Wrestlemania. Nakamura has already confirmed that he will be part of the match.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton is one of the first superstars to confirm his entry for the 2018 Royal Rumble. Last year, he surprised everyone by winning the match, so this makes him a favorite to win it again. The Viper has won the match twice in his career and a win would put him back in a Wrestlemania title match. A third win would also tie the record held by Steve Austin.

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe has not won a title since arriving to the main roster but he has looked strong in his matches. A win at the Royal Rumble would be huge for Joe since he would get to fight Brock Lesnar or whoever is the WWE Universal Champion at the time. Joe recently faced Brock Lesnar and even though he lost, it was a really close match. Will we see a Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe Pt. 2 at Wrestlemania?

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins hasn’t captured the WWE Universal Championship since returning from the injury that forced him to relinquish the WWE World Heavyweight title. Rollins has also missed the last two Royal Rumbles, so it would be interesting to see him win it all this year. Maybe Rollins and Brock Lesnar can revive the feud that began shortly after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at Wrestlemania?

Ronda Rousey

Rousey is not only rumored to be making a surprise appearance at the Women’s Royal Rumble but is also a favorite to win it. For months, its been rumored that she will sign with WWE. The Royal Rumble is known for surprise returns and debuts, so this would be a great way to bring her to the women’s division.
