Just a few hours ago, Huawei launched the Honor V10 and 7X smartphones at an event in London. The launch is for other markets as the two smartphones had already been released in China a few weeks ago.
The two series focus on bringing good specs at lower prices. The Honor X series has become very popular in recent years, with affordable phones such as the 5X and 6X. The series has brought some of the best features often seen in more expensive phones. The 5X was one of the most affordable phones with a fingerprint scanner back in 2015. The 6X brought dual rear cameras at a really good price.
Here are the specs for the two smartphones:
- 5.93-inch 2160×1080 (18:9) LTPS IPS LCD display.
- Dual rear cameras of 16MP and 2MP. Front camera of 8MP.
- 4GB of RAM.
- Kirin 659 processor.
- 64GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
- 3,340 mAh battery.
- Android 7.1 with EMUI 5.1.
- 5.99-inch 2160×1080 (18:9) IPS LCD display.
- Dual rear cameras of 16MP and 20MP. Front camera of 13MP.
- 6GB of RAM.
- Kirin 970 processor.
- 128GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
- 3,750 mAh battery.
- Android 8.0 with EMUI 8.0.
The Honor V10 has the better specs out of the two smartphones announced today but the Honor 7X continues to be a solid option for those who only want to spend a few hundreds dollars on a new device.
One of the biggest improvements for the Honor 7X is its giant screen. The screen doesn’t cover all of the front like on some of the most expensive devices but it is okay for that price. The phone has a metal build and the fingerprint scanner can be found on the back, something that’s different on the Honor V10. The Honor 7X starts selling today in the US, Germany, Italy, UK, Russia, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, India, Malaysia, Iran and United Arab Emirates. The phone is priced at $199 in the US, where it is only available for pre-order.
The Honor V10 looks a little similar to the Honor 7X but there are major differences on the specs and design. The phone has more battery, the latest Android version and much more RAM and storage. The Honor V10 has also moved the fingerprint scanner to the front. The phone will go on sale on January 8 in the US, UK, France, Russia, India, Italy, Spain, Malaysia and Germany.
