How Daniel Middleton Became Famous
In 2012, the avid gamer created the channel, The Diamond Minecart. Created with young children in mind, its content mainly consisted of Minecraft Let’s Play videos. Quickly catching on, it wasn’t long until he had reached his first milestone- one million subscribers.
Today, he has over 17.5 million subscribers on the site, with more than 11.8 billion combined views, making him one of the most popular YouTubers by view count. In fact, he has received a Guinness World Record for having received the “most views for a Minecraft video channel.”
Daniel Middleton’s Other Projects
Two years into his gaming lifestyle, he created his second Youtube channel, MoreTDM. Unlike The Diamond Minecart which focuses on video games, his second channel is mostly filled with vlogs about his general life. As of 2018, it has gained over 3.1 million subscribers.
Aside from his Youtube career, he has also released a graphic novel. Called Trayaurus and the Enchanted Crystal, it featured various characters from his Youtube shows including Fin, Denton, and scientist Dr. Trayaurus. A commercial success, it ended up reaching the top spot on the New York Times Best Seller list.
At one point in 2016, he also lent his voice to one of the characters in the Netflix animated series, Skylanders Academy, which marked his first voice-acting role.
