Kim Namjoon- aka “RM”, is best known as the leader of the South Korean boy group, BTS. Since 2010, he has contributed to a number of their projects including the albums, Wings, and Dark & Wild.
In addition to his work with BTS, the rapper has collaborated with several other artists including Primary, Warren G, Wale, Krizz Kaliko, and Gaeko, to name a few. In fact, he even released a solo mixtape, RM, in 2015. Well received, it was later hailed as one of the “Top 50 Hip-Hop Albums of 2015” by Spin Magazine.

How Kim Namjoon Became Famous
In 2010, Namjoon was recruited as one of BTS’ first members following a talent a addition. From there, it was ultimately through the group’s subsequent releases that he soared to fame.
Over the past few years, BTS has released numerous projects including the albums Youth, Wake Up, Wings, and Dark & Wild, all of which performed well in Asia. In fact, they had just recently released the EP, Love Yourself: Her last fall, which peaked at number one in their native South Korea.
Some of BTS’ top tracks to date include Danger, Miss Right, Just One Day, Dope, Run, I Need U, and War of Hormone.
As of 2018, the boy group has released four albums, five extended plays, and over twenty singles.
Kim Namjoon on Television
Since his rise to fame as a member of BTS, he has appeared on television several times in Korea. For instance, he was featured in the documentary, 4things Show: Rap Monster and in the quiz show, Hot Brain.
At one point, he was even featured in the reality series, Close-Up Observation Diary on Idol, which followed his daily life for several days.
