An actress and singer, Laura Marano is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Ally Dawson in the Disney comedy, Austin & Ally. Aside from television, she has also appeared in several films including The Jacket, A Sort of Homecoming, and Lady Bird.
Hailing from LA, California, Laura Marano landed her first acting role when she was five years old. Following that, she made numerous appearances on television in the 2000’s including the shows Without a Trace, Joan of Arcadia, The X’s, and host Whisperer, to name a few.

Despite her long list of television credits, Laura Marano’s most well-known character is Ally Dawson from the Disney sitcom, Austin & Ally. One of the titular characters, her performance garnered her much praise during its five-year run.
In fact, her portrayal had yielded her several accolades including a Kids’ Choice Award for Favourite TV Actress, among many other nominations.
Laura Marano’s Other Acting Roles
In addition to Austin & Ally, Marano has appeared in various other shows over the years including Fish Hooks, Liv and Maddie, Bad Hair Day, Girl Meets World, and Pickle and Peanut, several of which see her in voice-acting roles.
On film, she has also participated in several titles (mostly as minor characters). For instance, her list of credits includes Ice Age: The Meltdown, Finding Nemo, A Sort of Homecoming, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
Laura Marano’s Singing Career
As part of her role for Austin & Ally, she contributed to the studio album, Austin & Ally: Turn It Up, which came out in 2013. A hit among fans, it reached number 89 on the Billboard Top 200. Two years later, she also worked on the show’s second album, Take it From the Top.
Some of the other singles that she’s released over the years include La La, Boombox, Words, I Love Christmas and Perfect Christmas.
