An actress and singer, Lucy Hale initially rose to fame after winning the reality competition series, American Juniors in 2003. Since then, she has enjoyed a successful acting career- her most prominent role is that of Aria Montgomery in the teen drama, Pretty Little Liars.
Originally from Tennessee, she had moved to Los Angeles at the age of fifteen in hopes of pursuing a music career. As it happened, she eventually got involved with acting prior to singing; some of her early credits include the shows Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, How I Met Your Mother and The O.C.
How Lucy Hale Became Famous
Though she appeared on television multiple times before, it was on the popular teen drama, Pretty Little Liars, that she had risen to fame. Based on the book series of the same name, the series saw her playing the role of Aria Montgomery, one of the show’s main protagonists.
Her most prominent role to date, her portrayal led to many industry accolades including seven Teen Choice Awards, and two Young Hollywood Awards, among many others.
Lucy Hale’s Other Television Appearances
Prior to her being cast in Pretty Little Liars, she had also appeared in the shows, Ruby & the Rockits, Sorority Wars, Bionic Woman, Privileged, and CSI: Miami.
Since her time on the drama, she has also made a couple of cameos in the titles, Punk’d and Baby Daddy.
Lucy Hale’s Singing Career
Also a singer, she released her debut album, Road Between in the summer of 2014. A decent hit, it ultimately peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and at number 4 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Met with positive reviews, it gave rise to many tracks including Goodbye Gone, You Sound Good to Me, That’s What I Call crazy, Lie a Little Better, and Red Dress, the last of which was a duet with Joe Nichols.
