MWC (2018) – 5 Phone Launches That Might Happen

MWC (2018) will take place next month and we can’t wait to see what is unveiled during the tech show. Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S9 will make an appearance while at least one company has already sent out invites. Several companies have yet to confirm any products for the event but recent rumors have let us know that we might see those devices at the show. Here are five phone launches that might happen at MWC (2018):

LG V30 New Variant

Last year, LG officially unveiled the G6 at the event. But things could be different this year as recent reports have suggested that the LG G7 will be pushed back to later this year. According to a report from the Korea Herald, the company will instead debut a new variant of the LG V30. The device, said to be called V30+’a’, will come with enhanced AI features.

There aren’t many details about this device but it appears that the company will skip on the LG G7 for now and focus on the new variant of the LG V30.

Nokia 1 and 9

A few days ago, Nokia sent out invites to the MWC event. The invitation doesn’t reveal much but it does hint that the company could be planning to unveil more than just phones. The background image of the invitation hints at a home product. Nothing has been confirmed but the Nokia 1 and 9 are expected to make an appearance at the event. In last  year’s event, Nokia announced several phones, including a remake of the classic 3310. Speaking of the Nokia 3310, the company is also rumored to be working on a 4G variant, which might also be at the event.

Motorola Moto G6, X5 and Z3

Last year, Motorola unveiled the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at MWC. This year, it is also rumored to be doing the same by announcing the Moto G6. According to recent leaks, the company will bring back the three variants, like we saw with the Moto G4. The Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play are all rumored for the show along with the Moto X5 and Z3 smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi 7

Xiaomi skipped last year’s MWC but the year before it unveiled the Mi 5 there. The company is listed by MWC’s site, so this has sparked rumors that Xiaomi will unveil its new smartphone there. The only thing confirmed about the Mi 7 so far is that it will have a Snapdragon 845 processor, which was announced by Qualcomm last month.

Huawei P11

The Huawei P11 might be the big announcement from the company at MWC, if the recent rumors are true. The rumored device is said to have triple cameras on the back and a number of other great features.

MWC 2018 begins on February 26 and ends on March 1.
