An American freestyle skier, Alex Ferreira will be making his Olympic debut at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Known for his skills on the halfpipe, he recently finished first at the World Cup in Cardrona with a score of 93.40. In addition to that, he has also medalled at the Winter X Games.
Hailing from Colorado, he began skiing at the tender age of three. Though he originally skied moguls, he eventually found his passion in the halfpipe event. Currently, he is taking classes at Westminster College.

How Alex Ferreira Became Famous
At the age of twenty, he rose to prominence after winning the bronze medal at the superpipe event at the Winter X Games. Later that same year, he competed in the FIS World Cup, where he finished seventh overall.
Since then, Ferreira has continued to take part in the games- in fact, he had won himself a silver medal at the 2016 X Games Oslo. Most recently, he finished sixth at the FIS World Cup.

Despite an ankle injury which led him to withdraw from the Winter X Games, he successfully managed to land himself on the American team for the 2018 Winter Olympics. With that, he will be making his big debut in PyeongChang, South Korea, this month.
