An American freestyle skier, Brita Sigourney was recently chosen to represent the United States at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Prior to that, she had also competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, where she placed sixth.
Born on January 17, 1990, in Carmel, California, Britain’s Sigourney has been skiing for as long as she could walk. Growing up, she often skied at the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in Tahoe, where she did almost everything- slopestyle, moguls, halfpipe, and aerials, etc. Many years later, she would take home her first silver medal at the U.S. Championships in 2010.
When she isn’t out there on the show, she enjoys traveling, swimming, camping, and spending quality time with her family.

How Brita Sigourney Became Famous
Ultimately, it was in the early 2010’s that she started to earn herself a reputation. For instance, she had finished second in her first Winter X Games Halfpipe event in 2011. Continuing her winning streak, she eventually won three events at the following X Games and at the Visa U.S. Grand Prix.
Despite having suffered a few injuries including a broken collarbone, Sigourney eventually represented the U.S. for the first time at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. In the end, she finished sixth on the halfpipe.
Brita Sigourney’s Other Achievements
A year later, she came back as strong as ever for the Winter X Games, where she earned herself a second bronze medal. From there, she enjoyed a successful 2016 season, with many top-ten finishes, including a bronze at the Dew Tour.
As far as recent events go, the two-time Olympian is currently representing the country at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
