Hailing from Arizona, Max Aaron has won numerous figure skating competitions throughout his career. Not only is he a three-time US International Classic champion, but he’s also the 2011 US National Junior champion and the 2013 US National champion. According to reports, he is currently working on refining his quad jumps.
Brought up in Scottsdale, Arizona, he began skating at the age of four, with the original intention of playing hockey. For a few years, he competed in both sports- figure skating and hockey; it wasn’t until after he had sustained an injury to his vertebrae, that he decided to focus solely on the former.
How Max Aaron Became Famous
As a junior, he gained attention after winning the National Junior title during the 2010-11 season. Prior to that, he had won the bronze medal at the 2010 Championships.
On a winning streak, the skater eventually finished first on the podium for his first gold medal at the 2012 US International Classic. Later that same season, he also won silver at the Cup of Nice.
From there, he went on to win his first US Championships in 2013, at the age of twenty. Skating to the soundtrack of West Side Story, he had successfully defeated the three-time champion, Jeremy Abbott.
Max Aaron’s Later Activities
In 2014, he was named to the World Championships after winning the bronze medal at the US Championships; in the end, he placed eighth overall.
Over the next two years, Aaron competed in many events including the 2015 Skate America, CS Nebelhorn Trophy, CS Tallinn Trophy, as well as the 2016 US Championships and World Championships.
Currently, for the 2017-18 season, he is skating to The Phantom of the Opera in his free program, and to One Day More in his short program.
