Week 3 of the NFL kicked off with a surprise and they kept coming on Sunday. Several favorites ended up with a loss on their record while others saved their season by avoiding an 0 – 3 record. Here are the Week 3 results so far:
Browns 21 – 17 Jets
The surprise of the week came in Thursday’s game between the Browns and Jets. Mayfield entered after Taylor was injured and helped the Browns get a win.
Bills 27 – 6 Vikings
The Bills were far from favorites in this matchup but they surprised everyone by taking a huge lead against the Vikings. The Vikings never recovered and ended up scoring just six points.
Redskins 31 – 17 Packers
The Redskins took a huge lead into halftime and held on to defeat the Packers 31 – 17. The win put Washington with Philadelphia at the top of the NFC East.
Giants 27 – 22 Texans
The Giants bounced back and defeated the Texans 27 – 22 to win their first game of the season. The Texans are now 0 – 3 in the season and last in the division.
Dolphins 28 – 20 Raiders
The Miami Dolphins dropped the Raiders to 0 – 3 after a 28 – 20 victory. The Dolphins now lead the AFC East with a 3 – 0 record. The Raiders are among the teams that have scored the least points in the first three weeks.
Chiefs 38 – 27 49ers
The Chiefs continued putting points on the scoreboard in a huge win against the 49ers. San Francisco fell to 1 – 2 in the season but the worst news is that Jimmy Garoppolo is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Titans 9 – 6 Jaguars
The Jaguars appeared to be the favorites on this one but they were held to just six points. The Titans lost their starting quarterback but Mariota came in and saved the day for his team.
Eagles 20 – 16 Colts
Carson Wentz returned as the Eagles quarterback and led the team to a touchdown on the first drive. The Colts kept the game close but the Eagles left with a W after scoring a touchdown in a long drive in the fourth quarter.
Panthers 31 – 21 Bengals
The Panthers dropped the Bengals to 2 – 1 after a 31 – 21 victory. The Bengals remain at the top of the NFC North and are followed closely by the Ravens. The Panthers are third in the close NFC South, a division that could come down to the last game of the season.
Ravens 27 – 14 Broncos
The Ravens ended the Broncos two game win streak in a 27 – 14 victory. The two teams are now 2 – 1 in the season and second in their divisions.
Saints 43 – 37 Falcons
The Saints and Falcons had a close game that went all the way to extra time. The Saints ended up winning this matchup but Ridley had a huge game for the Falcons.
Rams 35 – 23 Chargers
The Rams moved to 3 – 0 after beating the Chargers 35 – 23. The win put the Rams at the top of the NFC West. The Chargers, third in the AFC West, are now 1 – 2 in the season.
Seahawks 24 – 13 Cowboys
The Seahawks came in needing a win and they got it. Seattle avoided an 0 – 3 record and stayed in the NFC West race. The Cowboys fall to 1 – 2 in the season.
Bears 16 – 14 Cardinals
The Bears moved to 2 -1 after a close win against the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears are now on a two game win streak after dropping their opening game against the Packers. The Cardinals are at the bottom of the NFC West with an 0 – 3 record.
Lions 26 – 10 Patriots
The Lions avoided falling to 0 – 3 after winning against the Patriots. The Lions are now 1 – 2 but are just one game back of the Bears. The Patriots fell to 1 – 2, which lands them in second in the AFC East.
The Buccaneers and Steelers will play later today. Tampa Bay is 2 – 0 while Pittsburgh is 0 – 1 – 1.
