5 Questions Following WWE Royal Rumble (2019)

The WWE Royal Rumble took place on Sunday and it left plenty of questions. The event stayed away from big returns or debuts but it did have some shocking endings to some of its matches. Here are five questions we have after this year’s Royal Rumble:

Are The Bludgeon Brothers Done?

The Bludgeon Brothers dominated the WWE SmackDown Tag Team division but their great run was stopped by an injury to Harper. During last night’s WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, Erick Rowan stopped by to help the champion. No one really knows why but Rowan had a different look, including tattoos on his arm.

Daniel Bryan was part of the Wyatt Family at one point but this return from Rowan leaves us with questions. We’ll probably find out tomorrow on SmackDown.

Who Will Challenge Rousey Next?

Ronda Rousey is still the WWE Raw Women’s Champion after a close match against Sasha Banks. In just a few months, Rousey has beaten some of the best in the roster and we’re now wondering who is going to step up to challenge her.

Becky Lynch appears to be the favorite for a Wrestlemania match against her but we’re not sure who is going to compete against the former UFC champ before that.

What’s Strowman Going To Do Now?

Braun Strowman has not succeeded in winning the WWE Universal Championship and it looks like it will remain that way for a while. The former Wyatt Family member has dominated most of his matches but has fallen short against Brock Lesnar in several occasions. He was added to the Royal Rumble as a replacement for Cena but came up short against Seth Rollins.

Strowman was originally scheduled to face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble but he was taken off and replaced with Finn Balor, who was very close to recapturing the title last night. Rollins will be challenging for the title at Wrestlemania so this leaves Strowman out of the race, well at least for that event.

What’s Next For AJ Styles?

AJ Styles failed to recapture the WWE Championship after Erick Rowan interrupted the match to help Bryan. The Phenomenal One has held the title twice during his short time in WWE but this feud appears to be coming to an end. AJ Styles could compete for the US Championship but he did have a long feud with Nakamura last year so that would be a little too soon.

What’s Next For Alexa Bliss?

Alexa Bliss returned at the Royal Rumble and while she didn’t win, she was in there for a while. The former WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion had been out since September but came back to the ring on Sunday. We’re used to seeing Alexa Bliss compete in big matches so her return has us wondering what she will do when Raw kicks off later today.

Becky Lynch has not announced who she will face at Wrestlemania but Bliss is a name that could become a challenger for Rousey if Lynch decides to go after Asuka, who defeated her last night.
