Fortnite’s Latest Content Update Nerfs Planes, Vaults Burst

The latest content update of the 7.10 patch has made several changes and removals to Fortnite. The biggest change of them all appears to be the nerf of the X-4 Stormwing Plane. The flying vehicle was first introduced in Season 7 but it didn’t take long before the complaints started surfacing.

The plane is a great way to get around the map but players also have the ability to take down entire structures, trees and other objects by simply using the boost. The plane is also equipped with a machine gun so it can also do damage from far away.

The plane was nerfed just days after its debut but the biggest changes come during this content update. The biggest change seems to be its spawn rate. The plane was a guaranteed spawn at the outposts and other areas of the map. Now, the plane only spawns 80 percent of the time.

Planes will also be less effective during combat. You won’t be thrown across the map if you happen to get hit by a plane. Hitting a structure will also deal 50 percent more damage to the plane. The machine gun has also been nerfed, making it a bit more difficult to deal damage to players.

Many players have called for the planes to be removed from the game but this will at least make players think twice about using a plane during a fight on the ground.

Other Changes

The content update brings several other changes to the battle royale game. Yesterday, it was confirmed that the game would add the Suppressed Sniper Rifle. This had been rumored for a few days and the weapon is now in the game. The new sniper is pretty much a bolt action but with a silencer. This means that opponents will have a hard time finding where you’re shooting from. The weapon deals less damage though.

During all the silenced sniper rumors, it was also mentioned that Epic Games would vault the Six Shooter. The pistol was only added a few months ago but the weapon wasn’t exactly one that players would rush to or use during an entire game. The weapon is now in the vault but that doesn’t mean it can’t come back. Epic Games has brought a few weapons back in the past and who knows, maybe this one will reappear later on. Dual pistols are back in the game after being vaulted a few months back.

The Six Shooter is not the only one to join the vault. Epic Games has also decided to vault the Burst Assault Rifle. This one is a surprising move since the weapon had been around for a long time. It is also one of the most common in the game, especially the gray Burst.

Fortnite has also brought back the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges. The challenges ended a few days ago but Epic has extended the time to give players the chance to complete everything. The extension has also brought back the holidays theme to the map, including the Christmas trees and decorations.
