Foldable phones have arrived to the tech scene, with Huawei, Samsung, Royole and a few others planning to catch the attention of consumers this year. At least three foldable phones have announced so far, all with different specs and prices. Here are the prices, specs and other information for the Mate X, FlexPai and Galaxy Fold phones:
Huawei Mate X
Huawei recently confirmed its Mate X, which first appeared in a leaked ad just before its big event. The Mate X is one of the most talked about devices at the moment since it appears that Huawei has created a really really good phone. The only bad thing about the phone right now is its price. The Huawei Mate X currently sits at the top spot when it comes to the most expensive foldable phone category. The phone has a price of $2,600, a price even higher than the smartphones between Huawei and Porsche Design.
The good news is that the company has already hinted at cheaper foldable phones. We don’t know how cheaper but it is good to hear that there will be devices with lower prices since $2,600 is something that many are not willing to spend for a new phone.

- Kirin 980 processor.
- 8GB RAM – 512GB storage.

- 4,500 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Fold
The Samsung Galaxy Fold is the company’s first attempt at a foldable device. The Galaxy Fold first made an appearance last year but the company was quiet on the details and people didn’t have a chance to get a closer look at the device.
The Galaxy Fold will be released on April 26 at a high price of $1,980. The price is among the highest ever by Samsung. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 9 costs almost $1,000 less than the Fold. The price isn’t really a surprise since reports had repeatedly mentioned that the foldable technology would take prices to a new level.
Reports have recently mentioned that the company is already getting ready to have other foldable devices in its lineup. Some of those reports say that the company has up to two foldable phones in the plans.

Royole’s FlexPai phone is one of the earliest attempts of a foldable device. ZTE had made an attempt with the Axon M before but that phone wasn’t the best preview of the technology. The FlexPai phone first made an appearance in early January, at a time when rumors had Huawei and Samsung trying to become the first to announce a foldable phone. The announcement from Royale was certainly a surprise since we all expected a popular smartphone maker to make that announcement.
The FlexPai’s main attraction is obviously its ability to fold. Several tech sites have taken a closer look at the device and while many agree that the phone is far from perfect, it does have the element that it is much cheaper than the Galaxy Fold and Mate X.
