NFL Free Agency 2019/20: Biggest Signings and Trades

The NFL Free Agency period began on March 13 with several names going off the board in just hours. The Jaguars, Eagles, Patriots and many other teams made moves through free agency as well as trades. Here are the biggest signings and trades so far:

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown went from almost going to the Bills to joining the Raiders. The star wide receiver was traded for third and fifth round picks. The Raiders released Jordy Nelson shortly after the trade.

DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson is back with the Eagles after a trade with the Bucs. The star wide receiver had shown interest in returning to Philly, where he began his NFL career. Jackson was released by the Eagles five years ago when Chip Kelly was the head coach. He joins a lineup of receivers that include Jeffery and Agholor.

Odell Beckham Jr.

The Browns shocked the world by trading for Odell Beckham Jr. The star wide receiver had recently signed a new contract with the Giants. The trade has made the Browns a favorite for the AFC North. The offense now has players such as Mayfield, Chubb, Odell and Landry.

Michael Bennett

Michael Bennett had a pretty good season with the Eagles but the star defensive end is now in New England. This is a great trade for the Patriots, who are coming off a Super Bowl winning season.

Landon Collins

Collins was one of the first to agree to a deal after the free agency period began. The former Giants safety, who made the Pro Bowl three of his four years in New York, agreed to a six-year, $84 million contract with the Washington Redskins.

Le’Veon Bell

Le’Veon Bell is now with the Jets after weeks and weeks of rumors. The former Steelers running back skipped last season after not signing the franchise tag. Bell signed a $52.5 million deal with the Jets shortly after the free agency period began.

Nick Foles

Nick Foles has signed a huge contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former Eagles backup quarterback became a free agent after the team decided not to franchise tag him. He replaces Blake Bortles, who was released by the Jaguars last week.

Earl Thomas

The Ravens lost several pieces on defense but the team turned around and signed Earl Thomas. The former Seahawks safety will replace Weddle, who was released by the team just days before.

C.J. Mosley

The Jets made another move in free agency by signing C.J. Mosley. Reports say the linebacker received an offer from the Ravens but it was the Jets who ended up signing him for $85 million.

Kwon Alexander

Kwon Alexander was one of the early signings of the free agency period. The linebacker agreed to a four-year contract worth $54 million with the 49ers.

Dee Ford

Alexander was not the only move in the linebacker position by the 49ers. San Francisco trade for Dee Ford just days after its big signing. Ford had a breakout season with the Chiefs but there had been reports that Kansas City was looking at a trade.

Malik Jackson

The Eagles quickly patched up their losses at defensive end by signing Malik Jackson to a three-year deal worth $30 million. Jernigan and Bennett are no longer on the team but this is a solid addition for a team who will see Derek Barnett return after a shoulder injury last year. Brandon Graham is also back after signing a three-year extension.
