Surfset Fitness Before Shark Tank

Mike Hartwick is a former professional hockey player who isn’t unfamiliar to your standard workout routines. He is someone who can understand that doing the same exercises on the same equipment can become a little dull. That is why Mike would spend his time in California during the off seasons. During his stay, Mike would do a lot of surfing and he enjoyed this regimen so much that he asked Sarah Ponn, a nutrition and fitness expert, to team up with him in the production of Surfset Fitness. Their plan was to bring the exercising benefits of surfing to everyone in the gym by creating the RipSurferX.

The RipSurferX is a piece of training equipment that allows people to receive all the physical benefits of surfing, only you don’t need the ocean to do it. Mike and Sarah didn’t just want to sell these surfboard-esque pieces of equipment though. They also wanted to be able to certify Surfset Fitness instructors who would be capable of teaching large classes of people on how to reap all the benefits of this particular type of exercise.

Starting a new business can be a difficult task, especially when you don’t have the necessary connections to get the name of your new brand out there on the market. Mike definitely has a leg up since he was formerly a professional hockey player, but even that isn’t enough. So he and Sarah jumped on board and paddled out to the Shark Tank, hoping that they would be able to attract one of the Sharks into taking a bite out of this business.

Surfset Fitness on Shark Tank

Both Hartwick and Ponn entered the Shark Tank seeking a $150k investment in exchange for a 10% stake in the Surfset Business. Then they tell the Sharks that their plan with the Surfset Fitness is to set up classes with instructors to get people familiar with their product, the RipSurferX. This piece of equipment has been designed to imitate the instability of a surfboard on water, allowing its users to work on their balance skills and core muscles.

They brought with them Lakey Peterson, one of the top 10 surfers in the world. She jumps onto the RipSurferX to demonstrate just a few workout moves to the Sharks. She does a “pop-up” which works the legs, core, and arms in addition to enhancing a person’s balance. Then she does a “dip dive” and that works all of your upper and middle body muscles. Mark Cuban seems to be showing quite a bit of interest in this product, but Kevin O’Leary is the first to speak up.

His main concern right now seems to be that the workout moves Peterson just demonstrated appear to be a little too challenging for your average person to perform. O’Leary isn’t convinced that your average Joe would be able to do these workouts. Robert Herjavec is then volunteered to step up and try to product out for himself. As soon as he jumps on, Herjavec is very shaky on the board, but he seems to be having a good time. One of the exercises leaves him a little off balance and he ends up falling off the board, but he isn’t unsatisfied with his experience.

The next question is asked by Cuban who wants to know how you change the difficulty levels of the board. It’s actually quite simple to do. You just snap off the chords on the sides of the board which will then make it even more unsteady. The weight limits for these boards is 450 pounds, which means that it can be used for people who are also looking to lose a lot of weight and get into better shape.

Hartwick found the inspiration for Surfset Fitness through his own surfing experience. Whenever he spent an off season surfing in California, he always came back to the rink feeling lighter on his skates and just physically better than ever. After that, he teamed up with Ponn and got to work on creating the equipment, then teaching classes. They managed to make $150k in class sales in California, so then they decided to take it to New York and ended up receiving a lot of attention from it. Celebrities would stop by and people were spending up to $35 for a class, and all of their appointments were completely booked for 4 months.

It costs $150 to make one RipSurferX and they sell retail at $400 each. Daymond John thinks that they need to bring the manufacturing price down to $100, but Hartwick quickly states that it shouldn’t be a problem to do that. However, John also isn’t so sure that Hartwick’s valuation of the brand at $1.5 million is actually reasonable. Hartwick doesn’t really see the issue because as of right now, they have received 200 inquiries on potentially franchising. People want them to set up their own studios and making a new fitness regimen. Still, John believes that they are undervaluing the connections and experience that the Sharks would be putting towards making this brand a success.

Without any more hesitating, Cuban decides to put an offer on the table because he sees a lot of potential here. The Surfset Fitness could hire professional surfers to teach these classes which would then give them a better reputable name. But there is an issue he sees, and it’s that he believes they are going to need quite a bit more money if they are going to do this the right way and Cuban wants to make this time and money worth his while. So what he decides to put on the table for them is $300k but he wants 33% of the business.

None of the other Sharks seem to think this would be a good deal for them to take because now it’s undervaluing the business. Herjavec puts up the $150k but instead wants 20% of the business, which is a little more fair that Cuban’s offer. The two argue back and forth a while because Cuban calls Herjavec out for also undervaluing Surfset Fitness, but then John butts in to make his own offer. He is willing to give then not only the $150k, but he is also ready to pay for all the manufacturing of the boards so long as he gets a 25% stake.

All of the Sharks start to go at it with one another, making arguments as to why certain offers are better than others. Barbara Corcoran speaks up for the first time to tell Hartwick and Ponn that the best person for them to go into business with his Cuban. She says that he is “cut from the same cloth” and that he’s very honest, which is exactly the kind of person they need on their side. Herjavec and John are irritated by this statement because they completely disagree, and are even more outraged when she offers to go in on halves with Cuban’s deal. Herjavec and John both defend themselves by listing their own individual assets that they could bring to the table, leaving Hartwick and Ponn with a very difficult decision to make.

Before the two can decide what they want to do, O’Leary chimes in to say that he’d be willing to go in on the deal with John, who quickly accepts. Now Cuban is getting a little impatient and decides that the two of them need to make a decision right now because he’s on the verge of dropping his offer. There is three offers on the table that they have to choose from and they ultimately end up going in on a partnership with Cuban once he decides to drop his stake in the business down to 30%.

Surfset Fitness Now in 2026 – After Shark Tank Update

After appearing on the show, Surfset Fitness became a widely recognized name in the fitness industry. For one thing, the investment from Mark Cuban allowed them to expand their product line and increase production to meet the growing demand.

The company also used the funds to enhance its marketing efforts, raise brand awareness, and significantly increase its customer base. That’s not all, it also gave them valuable access to Cuban’s extensive business network and his expertise in scaling startups, which was invaluable for their growth strategy.

The exposure on Shark Tank also led to a significant increase in orders for Surfset Fitness’s equipment and an influx of new customers for their classes. The company leveraged this opportunity to establish partnerships with gyms and fitness centers across the country, making their unique surf-inspired workouts accessible to a larger audience.

Since then, they have continued to innovate and expand their offerings. For example, the company has introduced new workouts to its portfolio and developed additional surf-inspired equipment.

They also expanded internationally, bringing their unique fitness approach to markets outside the United States. As of 2026, there are 350 licensed locations in over 32 countries.

The post Surfset Fitness 2026 Update – What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Corks Away Before Shark Tank

Nathan Buffet and Shane Cianciolo started the Corks Away Wine Adventures just as recreational hobby. They never expected that it would turn into such a popular hit long the California coastline. But it did and they both knew that they had a good thing going. If it was this popular in California, why wouldn’t be in other coastal areas?

The concept behind Corks Away Wine Adventures is pretty simple. Customers pay for a trip on a luxurious sail boat that then takes them on a coastal vineyard tour. This trip includes both appetizers and various wine tastings at different locations. It’s the perfect way for any wine enthusiast to kick back, relax, and enjoy some fresh wine.

Nathan and Shane started out by taking a single sail boat and completely refurbishing it. They wanted to provide their customers with a relaxing and upscale experience. Their one boat business really took off which is why they made the decision to potentially start franchising. However, they would need to go in with a business partner who could give them the capital to buy new boats and set up in different locations across the world. What better place to look for outreach and money than ABC’s Shark Tank?

Corks Away On Shark Tank

Buffet and Cianciolo enter the Shark Tank seeking a hefty $105k investment in exchange for a 20% stake in the Corks Away business. Then they go on to tell the Sharks that customers have traveled from across the world to go on one of their wine tours. Both Buffet and Cianciolo are Coast Guard approved captains and their boat, Sunflower, is a 30 foot luxury sailboat.

While on board, passengers are provided with four different wines and appetizers to sample. Cianciolo approaches the Sharks to give them a taste of what the Corks Away customers experience during their
excursion. However, Corks Away offers a variety of different cruises that are not exclusively dedicated to wine. There are tour options for beer, mimosas, and even couple cruises. Regardless of which tour you choose, they are carefully tailored to suit the mood and experience that the customers are seeking.

The Corks Away Tours allow up to 6 people per cruise. This is to prevent overcrowding and to allow the passengers to relax completely. All tours are 1 hour and 30 minutes each and they do 12 tours a week all year round. Their purpose for being on the Shark Tank is because they want to expand the business. So far in the last year they made $250k in sales and all of this has been profited off of the one boat they own. Adding more boats and locations to their line could only mean hauling in more of the big bucks.

Their plan for expansion is to open up a new money making opportunity for already licensed boat captains. Said captains will use their own boats, or pay $175k for a new boat, and be provided with a business plan to make these wine tours possible. However, the Sharks find a problem when they ask how much it would actually cost for them to buy a retail price boat before giving it to another captain. A new boat would only cost them about $35k to purchase. So, what the captain is actually paying for is the Corks Away business plan.

In addition to franchising Corks Away, Buffet and Cianciolo want to start selling their pesto appetizer in retail locations. This seems like a side business ventures to the Sharks and their not quite biting on the idea. But that isn’t the most absurd idea they have. What they ultimately want to end up doing is creating an indoor dinner cruise in Las Vegas. None of the Sharks seem to believe this is a feasible plan and that they would be better off keeping their boats in the ocean.

Mark Cuban understands that the two of them are experiencing some success with their current business. They are also having a good time with it. The issue he sees is that they are really limited in the sense that they can only have so many boats in one certain location. Having this particular issue would make it especially difficult to franchise and Cuban isn’t quite seeing their vision for Corks Away. For those reasons he can’t offer them an investment.

Next to speak is Robert Herjavec who thinks it’s great that the two of them get along so well together as business partners. But he sees a lot of holes and issues with their plans to expand the business so he is out. Daymond John shares a similar opinion, thinking that their plan to start an indoor boat ride is absolutely ridiculous. He will not be making an investment.

That leaves Barbara Corcoran and Kevin O’Leary left in the tank. O’Leary is on his third glass of wine and admits that they have a decent business. He enjoys the concept and thinks Buffet and Cianciolo have great personalities. The only problem he sees is that Corks Away isn’t a business that you can really invest into. He doesn’t see a way to make his money back out of it. They are making money and having a good time and O’Leary thinks that they should just stick with what they have instead of going crazy with this other business plans. Corcoran agrees that they are definitely a fun pair of guys, but she claims that she wouldn’t be able to get any sleep if she knew they had her money.

Now that all of the Sharks are out, the Corks Away captains have to walk away from the tank with no new investors into their business. However, it seems very unlikely that they will let this small bump in the road keep them from pursuing their business further.

Corks Away Now in 2026 – The After Shark Tank Update

Corks Away, a wine tasting cruise business that appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank, had an interesting journey after their television debut. Their unique business model, which combined the allure of scenic boat trips with the pleasure of tasting fine wines, captured a lot of attention on the show. While the Sharks were initially intrigued by the unique proposition, however, they had concerns about scalability and the business’s reliance on weather conditions.

As a result, they left the show without a deal. However, some positives did come out of their Shark Tank appearance. For one thing, it give Corks Away a significant amount of exposure. This publicity led to an increase in bookings and the company experienced a surge in popularity.

Since the show, Corks Away has continued to operate its wine-tasting cruises out of Long Beach, California. They also attempted to diversify their offerings by introducing new experiences like private yacht charters, wine blending classes, and even a wine club membership. Despite these efforts, however, the company faced challenges in maintaining steady growth and profitability.

Several years after their Shark Tank appearance, Corks Away closed its doors for good. The exact reasons are unknown, but it’s likely they ran into the same issues voiced by the Sharks – scalability issues and weather dependency.

As of 2026, the owners seem to have embarked on new endeavors. However, Corks Away will always be remembered for its unique concept and for bringing wine lovers together in a truly unique setting.

If anything, Corks Away serves as a reminder that while exposure can boost a business temporarily, long-term success depends on many factors including a sustainable business model and market demand.

While the business did not find lasting success after its Shark Tank appearance, its innovative business model left a lasting impression on many and remains an inspiring story for budding entrepreneurs.

Nathan Holzapfel came up with the perfect business plan when one day he re-envisioned the men’s belt. What he created was a sleak, sophisticated belt made out of high grade leather, but what is different about this particular belt is that it has no holes. The purpose of this is pretty simple. Now you can have a belt that will have a custom fit to anyone’s waist and you won’t have to go piercing new holes into it when the belt becomes a little too small or big for you. In addition to be a form fitting outfit accessory, Holazpfel wanted to make sure that his product was affordable to almost anyone. Designer belts can cost and arm and a leg, so he wanted to make something just as classy, but have it remain within a reasonable price range.

And as if that wasn’t good enough. Holzapfel is an entrepreneur with a dream to change the world. When he created the Mission Belt, he wanted to put his potential success and profits towards a good cause. With each belt his company sells, $1.00 of that goes to funding micro-loans through Kiva.com. Why? Well, Holzapfel wants to help bring an end to, or at least a decrease in world hunger. These micro-loans are a good alternative to just sending food because these funds provide the education and resources necessary to teach people living in poverty how to grow and cultivate their own food sources.

Wanting to find a partner who has a little more experience in the marketing industry, Holzapfel decided to take his Mission Belt to the Shark Tank. He hopes that at least one of the Sharks will see the potential and higher purpose for this business and give him an investment, because he could use all the help he can get in order to really launch this business towards success.

The Mission Belt on Shark Tank

Holzapfel enters the Shark Tank seeking a $50k investment in exchange for a 20% stake in his business. Then he begins to dive into his pitch, explaining that most people have at least one belt in their wardrobe, if not more. And since the time the belt has been created, there has been no changes in its design. Someone people might argue that “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it”, but the Mission Belt brand wanted to challenge that idea by reinventing this classic accessory. Holzapfel demonstrates the new design for the Sharks, revealing to them that the belt no longer has holes, but a new ratchet system instead. All you have to do is slide on the belt and pull it for however many clicks until it feels comfortable around your waist. Then, when it’s time to take it off, there is a release button on the buckle of the belt that will allow you to remove it.

After finishing his speech, Holzapfel hands out belts for the Sharks to feel and examine. Robert Herjavec is the first to notice the quality of the belt and asks if he manufactures them himself. The Mission Belt brand commissions a manufacturing company to produce the belts, but Holzapfel sells them himself. But he explains that the Mission Belt is particularly unique because of it’s sleek design and the high quality of its materials, but it is also kept in an affordable price range. There is no other belt like it on the market.

Kevin O’Leary asks about the business plan to get this product into all the major retail clothing stores and Holzapfel explains that he is standing there before them for that very reason. As of right now he is able to supply his belts to a few country clubs in addition to locally run men’s clothing stores, but he wants to take the Mission Belt further than that. His charismatic personality makes him a good salesman, but he needs the help of a partner to get him in front of the right people so he can start expanding the business.

Despite not being known on a national basis, the Mission Belt has been experiencing great success in the places it is sold. At one location in particular, they sell around 250 belts a month and each belt costs $35. In the last 3 months, they managed to sell around $39k worth of inventory. The Sharks seem to be pretty impressed with this considering he is only selling belts. Mark Cuban asks how much it costs to actually make one of these belts, which he finds out to be only $6.00 a unit.

One issue that Lori Greiner points out is that it is hard to know what makes the Mission Belt so special by the simple branding of it. There is no way of knowing that this belt has an innovative ratchet system which sets it apart from all other belts. Holzapfel explains that he has been taking a very hands on approach to getting people to understand his product by actually visiting his vending stations and showing people how it works. It doesn’t stop there though. Holzapfel is very passionate about his business and isn’t afraid to do what it takes to get it out there on the market. A few hours after checking into his Los Angeles hotel room, he went around door to door selling some of his belts. Cuban seems to really admire the kind of initiative that he is willing to take for the sake of his business.

Greiner is the first to make her decision on whether or not to invest. She really thinks that this product could be successful and she believes that men need a product like this, but she worries that the lack of demonstration will hinder sales. It would be incredibly difficult for big stores like JC Penny’s to properly advertise the belt, meaning it could get lost in all the other products. For that reason and that reason only, she decides not to invest. Next up is O’Leary, who holds a similar view to Greiner. He tells Holzapfel that he loves the belt and will be buying one for himself, but distribution would be too big of an issue for him to deal with so he can’t invest into it.

An issue that Cuban has is, what if a man is a little on the skinnier side? If there’s too much extra material hanging off after the belt has been buckled, it would be simple enough to just cut off what you don’t want. However, Mission Belts are sold in sizes ranging from small to extra large, which caters to a wide array of body types.

While Cuban ponders that explanation, Herjavec tells Holzapfel that he doesn’t think he has the proper connections that he needs to get this business out there on the market. That leaves only two Sharks still in and Daymond John is the first to make an offer. He is willing to put up the $50k, but he wants 40% of the company. His plan is to take the belt and license it to another company to manufacture, but he wants Holzapfel to remain as the head of sales, which he would get a decent commission for. Holzapfel counteroffers, asking only to give up 30% of the business, but John said he’d only be willing to go as low as 37.5%. Deciding that this is the best offer he is going to get, Holzapfel enthusiastically agrees to go in on a partnership with him.

What Happened to Mission Belt In 2026

Shortly after the segment aired, they made over $180,000 in sales and within a month, that number had soared to $1 million. With Daymond’s help, they also came up with a business plan, which put them on track to make $5 million in a year.

Nathan also created a number of new designs for the belt, which widened his audience. For example, they started selling belt buckles with sports teams’ logos (e.g. NHL, NBA) on them. Not only that but they also hired more staff to keep up with the increased demand.

In fact, they did so well that the company was eventually featured in episode 105 of Beyond the Tank. In the clip, they revealed that the product is now available in more than 1,000 retail locations across the U.S. and that they’ve done over $1 million in lifetime sales. Growth is at 400 percent a year and they’ve hired even more staff- from 20 to 45 employees.

Nathan also revealed that he hopes to take Mission Belts to a national market. He later met with Daymond in the follow-up to discuss the business. While Nathan is optimistic, Daymond is worried that the belt won’t sell well in “big box” retail stores” since the product “doesn’t sell itself” and if that happens, the retailer won’t reorder the item again.

Nathan told him he understands the risk but that he was determined to take it to the next level. Daymond is concerned but believes that he will make it happen. He recommended that they create a sales force and that they build ambassadors that will “go out and make the sales.” As they discuss the possibilities, Nathan is visibly stressed. He considers scaling back his goal from 20,000 stores to 5,000 stores.

In 2017, in a year after the update, Nathan received a $1.5 million loan from Kiva.com, which allowed them to ramp up the production process.

However, they soon ran into trouble. In March 2019, talk show host Larry King won a case against Nathan after he used his likeness in marketing materials without his consent, which cost him $250,000.

Then in 2021, he was arrested and charged with two counts of fraud after allegedly tricking a woman he was seeing into signing her house over to him; he later sold the property without her knowledge and used the funds to repay his debts. That same year, another woman came forward accusing Nathan of having de-frauded her out of $50,000, after he sold her rifle and vehicle without her consent.

Since then, he has faced several additional charges. In January 2022, a third victim was identified. Allegedly, he had persuaded her to write him a $100,000 check but instead of investing it into the business, he spent it on other things.

And in March 2022, he was charged with two counts of sexual abuse and a second-degree felony. Shortly afterward, he was arrested for touching a woman inappropriately as well as exposing himself in public.

Despite all his legal troubles, the business itself is still up and running, which isn’t surprising seeing as how Nathan is no longer involved with it.

The post The Mission Belt After Shark Tank Update – Now In 2026 appeared first on Gazette Review.

Pure Ayre Before Shark Tank

James Mitchell set off to make the world a bit little better by inventing a product that is completely nontoxic. He noticed one day that pretty much all of the readily available air fresheners that you see in grocery stores and supermarkets all contain harmful chemicals, some of which can do a good deal of damage to the environment. So, what he wanted to do was to make a new kind of air freshener that would get the job done, but do it in an all natural way.

That was when Pure Ayre was created. Of course it took a lot of trial and effort to find the right recipe to get the job done, but Mitchell was determined. His finished product takes away odors such as pet smells, urine, and smoke. It performs the same job as all other leading air fresheners, but the difference with Pure Ayre is that this product contains no alcohol, synthetic fragrances, and it does not add any pollution to the air. It is also safe to spray around food, people, and pets.

Mitchell knows that this is a product that needs to be made available to everyone immediately. Who wouldn’t want a completely safe and organic spray to make their homes smell a little fresher? The only issue is that he needs someone with a little more experience and a further reach in the marketing realm than he has. So he took Pure Ayre to the Shark Tank with nothing but the utmost confidence that at least one of the Sharks would want to sink their teeth into this business deal.

Pure Ayre on Shark Tank

Mitchell enters the Shark Tank seeking a $150k investment in exchange for a 10% stake in his company. Then he begins to explain how Pure Ayre is the only safe and all natural odor eliminator on the market. Immediately after that, Mitchell asks the Shark Barbara Corcoran to come up and assist him for a moment. She obliges and watches as Mitchell sprays a piece of clothing with ammonia, which mimics the smell of urine. Corcoran smells it to acknowledge that it does indeed smell. Then, after that, he sprays the cloth with Pure Ayre and tells the Sharks that his product doesn’t just mask the smell, but breaks apart the particles that make the smell. He then allows Corcoran to smell the cloth again, which she says “smells wonderful”. Then, to drive home the message that this product is completely safe, he prays some of it in his mouth and tells the Sharks that it is also completely edible.

The Sharks seem to be pretty impressed with Pure Ayre, but when Daymond John asks if he has a patent for it, Mitchell tells them that he does not have a patent. He says that he hasn’t gotten a patent because in order to do that, you have to disclose your entire formula and Mitchell doesn’t want to risk having another company changing just one of their ingredients to replicate what he has.

John doesn’t appear to be too impressed with this answer, but he moves on to inquire about the amount of revenue that Pure Ayre has made so far. To the shock of everyone in the Shark Tank, Pure Ayre has made around $3.2 million in sales and generates around $19k a month. However, Mitchell quickly backtracks to say that $3.2 million was their overall total sales. In the previous year they only made around half a million dollars, most of which was generated from the Walgreens locations that he supplies.

However, sales started to go down when a large competitor found out about Pure Ayre and pressured Walgreens into removing Mitchell’s product from their shelves. That caused the business to hire a consulting firm so that they could be given some advice and a little direction. The consulting firm estimated that it would cost about $4 million to get this product out into retail locations.

Another shocking piece of information that is revealed to the Sharks is that he only owns 57% of the company. The rest is dispersed through friends and family who also wanted a piece of the business. And in total, they all invested around $600k into it, but no longer have any money because they spent it all in small portions.

Robert Herjavec asks if he has any other competitors that aren’t food grade odor eliminators, but still completely natural. Mitchell beats around the bush a little, but finally admits that yes, there are other natural air fresheners out there but that the customers who have come to him said that those air fresheners were not satisfactory. Then Herjavec asks whether or not Pure Ayre’s former CEO approached anyone about licensing this to some other brand and again, Mitchell doesn’t directly answer the question right away. Kevin O’Leary gets frustrated and claims that Mitchell should have been the one to be fired, and not the former CEO.

Everyone is starting to feel a little heated now because Mitchell continues to avoid giving the Sharks direct answers to their questions. They feel like they’re having to pry answers out of him which doesn’t make him look all that professional. Corcoran interrupts the discussion going on between the men to make it absolutely clear that she will not be investing into Pure Ayre. This leaves him feeling shocked and speechless. So much so that he can’t even respond when Kevin Harrington also states that he will not be investing because he doesn’t see a real business opportunity.

Despite two Sharks already being out, John says that he is willing to put an offer on the table. He will give the $150k but only in trade for 50% of the company since he believes Mitchell is too ignorant to run it himself. O’Leary jumps in to make his offer immediately after that. He wants to buy the entire company for $150k, but he is also willing to give Mitchell a 7% royalty on everything sold.

Mitchell is dumbfounded by this offer because he doesn’t understand why someone would want to kick him completely out of the company. He believes he has “star power”, which Herjavec completely disagrees with. Herjavec says that he is a terrible salesman and the only way that he’d be willing to make a deal is if Mitchell would be willing to walk away from the company. However, he says that he came into the Shark Tank today wanting to make a team to help build up his business. Both Herjavec and O’Leary don’t want to make a team, they just want to make money.

Herjavec decides not to make an offer, but O’Leary’s still stands. Everyone just wants to have an answer already, but Mitchell walks away to call his wife first. While he is away, John and O’Leary decide to go in on O’Leary’s original deal together. They both want to buy him out of his company because neither of them want anything to do with him because it is their belief that he is bad for business. Unwilling to completely part ways from Pure Ayre, he decides not to accept the offer and walk away empty handed.

Pure Ayre Now In 2026 – What Happened After The Show

Mitchell has continued to grow the company despite not landing a deal on the show. He even had a booth at the Seattle Kennel Club Show in 2015.

Since then, a number of retailers have picked up the product including MudBay, McLendon, New Seasons Market, and QFC. Not only that, but it’s also available online through Amazon, Chewy, Pet Supplies, Only Natural Pet, and KVSupply. For a full list, you can check out their website here.

Pure Ayre Odor Eliminators are available at a number of online retailers across the U.S.

As of 2026. the company is still up and running. In fact, they’re making $5 million in sales every year. If anything, that proves that businesses can still succeed without an investment from the sharks.

Currently, they have four types of products- an odor eliminator for babies, an odor eliminator for pets, a skunk odor remover, and an odor eliminator for bots, all of which are made of all-natural ingredients. And they can all be used on a number of surfaces. Take their pet odor eliminator, for example, it can be used on bedding, fabrics, carpets, and litter boxes. It can also be sprayed directly onto pets.

The “Pet Double Package” includes two bottles of Pet PureAyre (22 oz), 1 travel size of Home/Car PureAyre (4 oz), and a full color instruction guide

For those who are interested, you can check out their official store here. They offer different packages for various prices or you can get the odor eliminator by itself. For instance, you can get a bottle of their pet odor eliminator for $12.99 or a double package for $24.99. They also offer a portable electric fogger that you can use to eliminate odors in hard-to-reach or large areas. Shipping depends on your location as well as the items ordered but they do offer a few different options including US Priority Mail, UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select. Every now and then, they also offer promos- you just have to keep checking their website.

And their products aren’t just available in the U.S. For one thing, they have a separate site for Canadian customers. Not only that, but their odor eliminator products are also available in China through Zhejiang Gomma Environmental Technology.

Their pet-based Pet Odor Eliminator currently has a 4.6-star rating on Amazon.

They also have an official Facebook page at @PureAyreOdorEliminator. Just recently, they posted about participating in Petpalooza- a day-long event at Game Farm Park- where they demonstrated the effectiveness of PureAyre.

What do customers have to say about their products? As far as we can tell, most people seem satisfied with how they work. For starters, they have a 4.6-star rating on Amazon across 312 reviews, which is quite impressive. While some people claimed that it didn’t work, the general consensus seems to be that it is effective for a variety of odors.

The post Pure Ayre 2026 Update – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Before Shark Tank

Shane Panell is a stay at home dad who knows just how difficult it can be to chase around three little ones all day. As rewarding as it is to have children, being a parent requires a lot of time and energy, especially when the little ones are feeling particularly rambunctious. Shane knows all too well that cleaning up sticky, crusty messes left behind after messy play time can be a real hassle. No one wants to get on their hands and knees to scrub the kitchen floor, which is why he decided it was time to come up with a solution to the problem.

Shane turned his garage into a workshop and there he began to work on creating a prototype for the Sweep Easy. Once he was satisfied with the design, he went around to various public places to see if any business owners would bite. He took Sweep Easy to movie theaters, super markets, and even schools. A good portion of them said that they would definitely be interested in purchasing a few of them, but he has yet to receive any orders. However, Shane didn’t let this dishearten him because he knew that parents everywhere could appreciate the Sweep Easy. All he needed was someone with a little more experience in the business realm to help him get his foot in the door, and what better place to do that than the Shark Tank? However, will any of the Sharks be interested in investing into a company that has yet to make any sales?

During Shark Tank

Shane enters the Shark Tank seeking a $40k investment for a 25% stake in his Sweep Easy business. He then moves on to explain that, even though your typical broom has been a trusted cleaning appliance for decades, it is only good for merely sweeping things about the floor. The question that Shane poses is; what about the sticky messes that get stuck to your floors? No one ever enjoys getting on their hands and knees to scrub a messy floor, and that is why he reinvented the household broom. By pressing the top handle of the Sweep Easy broom, a scraper emerges from the broom and allows you to scrub off the dried mess on the floor without bending over. Then, once the mess has been scraped up, you just retract the scraper and sweep up the rest of the mess.

What makes matters even better for the Sharks is that Shane currently has a patent pending status for this new broom design. However, there is a also a downside. He has yet to make any sales, but that is only because he doesn’t have an official product yet. All he has currently are prototypes that he has made himself. In spite of that though, Shane believes wholeheartedly that this product will be a success on the market because he knows exactly what it’s like to have your hands full when you’re a stay at home parent. He has 3 children of his own and it’s definitely a bit of a challenge when it comes to keeping up with the kids while also being in charge of household tasks. He wanted to create something that would make the lives of parents just a little bit easier.

Robert Herjavec asks to come up and try the Sweep Easy for himself, being that he was a stay at home dad for 3 years and is able to relate to these floor cleaning struggles. While Herjavec tests out the prototype, Kevin O’Leary asks whether or not Sweep Easy has been presented to any manufacturing companies. Shane responds by saying that he has, but the only reason they haven’t placed any orders yet is because he isn’t licenses, bonded, or insured yet. He is the only person running the show right now, which is making the business start up a little difficult. That is the main reason why he was standing before them, because he desperately needs their business expertise.

Herjavec and Kevin Harrington take a moment to argue about what the best course of action would be for Sweep Easy. Herjavec believes that it would be easier to just license the patent to other broom manufacturing companies and collect a royalty, but Harrington argues that more money could be made if the product can be sold directly to the consumer. O’Leary then jumps into the conversation, saying that he has an offer to make, but he doesn’t want to waste time building a broom company when they could license it and sit back, collecting a check while some other company does the leg work. With that being said, O’Leary offers Panell $40k in exchange for 20% of the business. Panell appears to be extremely pleased with this offer, but Harrington chimes back in to offer him a different perspective.

Harrington knows that it’s difficult to get a new product on the market, but he has connections in television advertising and knows that the Sweep Easy can make a lot more money if it is sold directly to the consumers in addition to being licensed. He doesn’t have enough time to put an offer on the table though, because O’Leary cuts him off to offer a new deal of $50k for 20%, only if Shane stops listening to the other offers that the Sharks might have to make. Harrington disregards this and argues that they can make so much more money if they have a commercial in the United States, and then license that later to other countries to make money off of that.

The next to speak up is Daymond John, who decides to point out that the issue in the bickering that the other two Sharks are having is that Shane wants to build and run his own business. The goal is to start earning off of the Sweep Easy broom, but then to later create other products and acquire new patents. And John argues that he knows exactly where Shane is coming from because he too started his own brand right out of his home basement. He wants to turn Shane’s home appliance brand into an empire in the same way that he did with his clothing brand. With that being said, he decides to offer $75k in exchange for 33%, but he’s willing to create an entire company while the other two Sharks just want to do licensing deals.

Despite the majority of the Sharks going crazy over this product, Barbara Corcoran decides that she isn’t going to invest because Shane doesn’t strike her has the kind of guy who is willing to go all out for his business. Shortly after she says that, Harrington makes an offer of $40k for 25% and argues that this is undoubtedly the best deal because they will end up making millions over time.

In an attempt to smooth things over with Harrington, O’Leary offers to make a partnership with him, but Harrington declines because they don’t have the same vision for Sweep Easy. Herjavec is interested in going in on O’Leary’s deal though, because he too believes that the only hope of success that Sweep Easy has is if they licenses it to other companies. Together they end up making an offer of $80k for 25%. After that though, John and Harrington go in together to make the same offer, but they want to create infomercials for Sweep Easy and to get it sold in stores as its own company.

Shane clearly has a lot to think about, so he decides to call his wife, but all the Sharks attack him at once. O’Leary insists on talking to his wife because “talk is cheap”, but John wants him to make a decision right now. He even threatens to reduce the deal down to $70k if he walks out of the room. Herjavec tells Shane to “be a man”, which clearly insults him a little. All of the pressure seems to be getting him an Panell hastily decides that he will accept the deal between Harrington and John if it goes back up to the $80k. Without any hesitation, John agrees to revert back to the original deal.

Sweep Easy Now In 2026 – Updates After Shark Tank

The deal with Kevin never went through. Their appearance on the show did, however, boost their popularity and for a period, their sales went up. Not only was it available on their website, but they also sold it on Amazon.

The SweepEasy broom wasn’t too popular on Amazon – it had a 3-star rating out of 23 reviews

However, that didn’t last long. Within a few months, things became quiet. Their social media accounts appeared to be abandoned and negative reviews began to appear on Amazon. For example, many were dissatisfied with the quality of the product. In fact, many claimed that the broom had actually fallen apart after just a few months of use. That’s not all, its performance was also mediocre. If anything, it didn’t work any better than a regular broom.

Seeing as how they stopped updating their site (and social media accounts), many believed that the company was gone for good. In 2017, however, they surprised everyone by coming back with a new version of the broom. Unlike the original SweepEasy, it came with a new design that prevented you from having to get down on your hands and knees when cleaning. Not only that, but it also came with a built-in retractable scraper that you can use with the press of a button.

They also released three additional models- the Home, Lobby, and Pro, all of which featured interchangeable scrapers as well as a new and improved button release system. And for a while, things seemed to be going well. The business was pulling in $1 million in sales each year and people seemed happy with the new and improved product.

The SweepEasy broom, which was available for $19.95, is no longer available for purchase

But that didn’t last long either. As of 2026, the company is no longer in business. Their website has been shut down and their social media accounts have also been deleted. If anything, there’s no trace of the product left anywhere on the internet- it’s almost as if they vanished overnight.

Their official Instagram account has since been deleted

What’s Shane Pannell up to now? Interestingly enough, his LinkedIn profile still says that he’s the president of SweepEasy, LLC. Perhaps he just never updated his account? One thing’s for sure, though, as a stay-at-home dad (assuming that he still is one), he’s probably busy taking care of his children.

Will he be coming out with any new products in the future? Who knows. We may very well come up with a new product in his garage workshop. Having said that, we probably won’t be seeing him again on Shark Tank anytime soon.

The post Sweep Easy 2026 Update – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Raven Thomas is a woman who enjoys staying at home and being with her children, but she is far from your regular stay at home mom. Sometimes being around kids all day can become a little stressful, or at the very least fray a person’s nerves. This is exactly why Raven decided to begin “painting” pretzels. In doing this, she allowed herself some time to relax in the kitchen while also making a tasty little treat that the kids could snack on later. What Raven didn’t expect was for this hobby of hers to end up turning into a fairly successful business.

The Painted Pretzel first made its appearance in local mom and pop stores. Each of the orders were hand crafted and prepared directly in Raven’s kitchen, which as you can imagine, takes up a lot of time and work. However, this new business of hers was really starting to kick off and receive recognition. More orders started flooding in and Raven did her best to keep up with them all, but she knew that running this operation out of her home kitchen wasn’t going to work forever. It was when she received a particularly large order from Neiman Marcus that she decided she was going to need to branch out and seek investors for her Painted Pretzel business. Before Marcus’s order, she had turned down a $2 million order from SAM’s Club, and that wasn’t something she wanted to have to experience again. So Raven packed up her Painted Pretzels and headed over to the Shark Tank, hoping that one of the Sharks would recognize the potential in her business and give her the financial aid she would need in order to expand and grow this business.

During Shark Tank

After entering the Shark Tank, Raven gives the Sharks her asking price of $100k in exchange for 25% of her business. Then she beings to explain that she started The Painted Pretzel about 3 years ago and that people loved them so much, they insisted that she begin to put them out on the market. However, instead of just talking about how amazing they are, Raven hands out samples for all of the Sharks to taste. What makes her Painted Pretzels so different from the other chocolate covered pretzels out on the market is that she uses all kinds of chocolate and candy covering for hers. The dips range from your traditional white, dark, and milk chocolate, but there are also butterscotch, mint, and peanut butter. In addition to these coatings, the toppings on the pretzels are unique as well. Sometimes candy bars will be crumbled on top, an assortment of nuts, or even different fruits. As each of the Sharks give the snacks a taste, they all react in pleasant surprise, clearly enjoying the treats.

Raven then tells the Sharks that she is in front of them today because she really needs a strategic business partner, in addition to the investment, to really push The Painted Pretzel towards its full potential. Her product is fun and unique, making it the perfect place for success. Kevin O’Leary is the first to inquire on the business’s sales, which he finds out to be around $75k made over the last 12 months. On top of the sales already made, she has a $64k order that was just placed last week and $140k in orders that she just didn’t have the resources to fulfill yet. So far she has been supplying to Neiman Marcus and SAM’s club, and has been for quite some time, but again her resources have been running thin which makes it difficult to fulfill these orders, especially when the pretzels sometimes sell out in a single day at these places.

Despite the fact that she has already made quite a few sales and has large orders still pending, O’Leary isn’t all that convinced of the product’s originality. He points out that there are countless other chocolate covered pretzel’s on the market, so what he wants to know is how The Painted Pretzel stands out among the rest of them. Raven states that it is their high quality ingredients and unique packaging presentation that really makes them stand out, and she ensures O’Leary that he will not find another brand that comes even close to comparing to hers.

Lori Greiner is the next Shark to speak up. She asks how much she sells the largest container for and how much it costs to make it. On average, Raven usually sells them for $14.50 dollars each and the production cost is about $7.00 each. Raven also supplies Neiman with orders during the fall and spring, and these orders are stocked in every store in addition to being sold online as well. What also makes her Painted Pretzels unique is that each container has an assortment of different flavors in it, which customers seem to love.

However, O’Leary proposes a theoretical situation where he has $400k and takes one of Raven’s jar of pretzels. With his $400k, he asks someone to replicate the same exact flavors and taste profiles. Raven admits that it is possible that someone could do that, but she doesn’t believe that anyone could make them like she does. O’Leary isn’t swayed by this sentimental statement, but Mark Cuban is. He says that her product will always be different because of the heart and soul she puts into each order. Greiner asks her to give a statement as to why she believes that she deserves an investment, and Raven responds by saying she wants to show her children that you can be successful in whatever you set your mind to and that she is going to keep working towards her dream no matter what.

None of the Sharks are swayed by this sentiment and Robert Herjavec advises her to retract the statement because what they want to hear as investors is why her business would be beneficial to them. However, before she can even say anything else, O’Leary decides he’s out regardless of what else she has to say. Despite that though, Raven manages to make the other Sharks very happy by telling them she had to walk away from a $2 million deal because she did not have the capital to make the order. This order was made by SAM’s Club and is still on the table, should she ever have the resources to fill it.

With that in mind, Mark Cuban lets her know that he could easily sell her product through the Mavericks and Landmark Theaters, and that he is willing to give her $100k for 25% of the business so long as she is willing to go in on the deal with him right then. Without even really thinking about the offer, Raven happily accepts the offer and goes in on a partnership with Cuban

The Painted Pretzel Now In 2026 – After Shark Tank Update

The deal with Mark was eventually finalized. The “Shark Tank Effect” also caused their sales to explode after the episode aired. In fact, they received so much traffic that their website crashed and was down for two hours.

Since then, they’ve started leasing commercial kitchen space to fulfill large orders. Not only are the pretzels sold at Mark’s movie theaters and sports arenas, but they’re also available at Sam’s Club and Nieman Marcus. At one point, they also opened up an Amazon store, which seemed to do quite well. Mark, whose role is similar to that of an adviser, has also been a big help, according to Raven. Not only is he “very accessible” but they’re also in touch at least once a week via email.

As of 2026, The Painted Pretzel is still in business. The only thing is that they no longer sell on Amazon. In fact, all of their products have been pulled from the site. Don’t worry, though, their pretzels are still available from their official website. For example, you can get pretzel bark, pretzel rods, and pretzel treats, all of which come in different flavours including Chocolate Cream, Butter Crunch, Sparkler, White Chocolate, and more. That’s not all, they also offer samplers and gifts, which include some of their best-sellers and depending on what you get, they range from $24.95 to $54.95.

A variety of samplers and gifts are available from their website, starting at $24.95

In addition to that, they also offer pretzels for fundraisers. Each of them comes individually wrapped and can be bought for $1 and resold for $2. There are many different flavours to choose from as well including milk chocolate with M&Ms, butter crunch, assorted, chocolate cream, and white chocolate with a milk chocolate drizzle. Three case sizes are available: 2 cases, 6 cases, and 8 cases.

In terms of shipping, all orders are processed and sent out between 2 and 7 business days (most of their products are handmade and made fresh to order, which requires time). A tracking number will also be provided (most will arrive within 2 days of being shipped).

Customized corporate gifts are also available. In fact, they’ve worked with several large companies and charities over the years including Saks Fifth Avenue, Google, Paypal, and the New York Yankees. For those who are interested, you can fill out the Corporate Gifts Order Request form on their website. You just need to let them know your budget and they’ll be able to give you various options. Or if you want, you can choose from their best sellers, which include The Party Starter, The Glitz, and Sassy Sampler.

Mix Bikini Before Shark Tank

Frank Scozzafava and Adam DiSilvestro are two men who decided to tap into the women’s swimsuit market. There is no denying that once summer rolls around, people go crazy over every opportunity to show off their “bikini bodies” that they spent all winter long working on perfecting. Both Scozzafava and DiSilvestro realized that having multiple bathing suit options is always a good thing, and that is why they decided to create an original brand of Bikini’s that make it possible to mix and match so many different bathing suit styles and prints.

In total, the Mix Bikini brand allows for up to 500 different bikini combinations. This idea for the line really seemed to be a hit with the women that had made purchases from them, but Scozzafava and DiSilvestero wanted to take their brand to a whole different level. They wanted someone with extensive marketing and business knowledge to come into a partnership with them, because they needed someone with more experience to help guide them in the right direction. What better place to look than ABC’s Shark Tank? The two men put a presentation together and headed off to the Tank in hopes of snagging a deal.

Mix Bikini During Shark Tank

The two partners enter the Shark Tank seeking a $50k investment in exchange for a mere 5% of their Mix Bikini brand. After giving them their price, they begin to explain where the idea for the company stemmed from. They claim that women love their swimwear, but that it’s the “worst feeling in the world” when they are on the beach and happen to spot another woman wearing the same one as her. According to them, Mix Bikini is there to solve that problem. All pieces of their clothing are sold separately, therefore meaning that the more pieces a woman collects from their brand, the more bikini options she will have. The Mix Bikini is also the first interchangable swimsuit line.

The process of ordering a custom Mix Bikini is also pretty simple. On their website, there is a list of steps that allows you to choose the kind of top you want, then mix and match all the different prints and colors to go with it. The same goes for the bottoms. And the best part of it is, whenever said customer wants to switch up her bikini look, she doesn’t have to buy a whole new bikini set. All she needs to do is purchase the piece that she wants to change on her bikini. In example, she could just buy a new left part of the bikini top or a new back piece for her bottoms.

Robert Herjavec is the first to start asking questions, and he wants to know what their current sales look like. Scozzafava and DiSilvestero confess that as of right now, they have not made that many sales yet, but that is only because they just made a soft launch for the business not too long ago. However, they have made a few sales since opening, just not as many as they believe they will be making in the future. Then Barbara Corcoran inquires on the actual price for the bikinis so she can get a clearer picture of what kind of money they will be making once they actually get the business going. Each part of the bikini sells for $9.99 so if you were planning on purchasing an entire bikini, it would cost anywhere between $40 to $50.

As of right now, Mix Bikini is an exclusive online store, but Scozzafava and DiSilvestero do not plan to keep it that way. What they plan to do in the future is to build kiosks that will then be placed in mall centers so that women can have a chance to actually touch and feel the products they might potentially be buying. However, to build one kiosk would cost around $25k, which they don’t exactly have the money for at the moment.

Daymond John brings up that, if they are asking for $50k in exchange for 5%, they are estimating the brand at $1 million. Scozzafava confirms this, but DiSilvestero says that no, they were willing to give up 10% of the business. This brings about some confusion with the Sharks because they had all written down that the asking price was for 5% and not 10%. Making this brief communication error definitely took away some of their professionalism, but it was quickly clarified that they wanted to give up 10%. Regardless of this sudden increase in equity, John claims that it’s a little ballsy to be estimating their business at a half a million dollars when they have yet to make any real groundbreaking sales.

Then Kevin O’Leary brings up that it might just be easier to license this idea to other big name companies so that they could just sit back and collect a check. Scozzafava says that yes, that is one way they could direct the business, but there are so many different possibilities. Herjavec, seemingly frustrated, tells them to pick just one direction to steer the business towards. To the Shark’s dismay, they said that they were there to hear suggestions and were looking for guidance. Mark Cuban shakes his head and tells them that here at the Shark Tank, they are looking for businesses with a plan, not businesses that need a path set for them.

A new flame seems to have been lit under the two business owners and they argue that this business could earn them so much money because it’s a multi-billion dollar industry. It is their claim that every woman who has tried the Mix Bikini has loved it, which can only mean that this brand is going to be the next hottest thing on the market. And the interesting thing about all that is, they already have around $500k to invest in the company. The Sharks don’t seem to know what to do with this information, because usually businesses come to them seeking capitol to get their businesses started. That doesn’t appear to be the case with these guys though. All they are looking for is the expertise in the marketing realm.

Scozzafava lists the different ways in which they could take Mix Bikini, but John argues that none of it is as easy as they are making it seem. He knows this because he built his very own clothing brand. Getting a brand’s name out there is no easy feat, so he decides to drop out. After that, Scozzafava gets heated with the other male Sharks in the tank while he tries to convince them that this is a product worth investing into and that it is going to be the next greatest thing. Herjavec manages to shut him down, which causes him to redirect his attention to Corocran who has been rather quite the entire episode.

It is her belief that taking this brand to a kiosk probably wouldn’t be such a good idea because there are so many different parts and pieces that it could get overwhelming. But she does believe that there is a chance that this business could be successful, which is why she decides to make them an offer. Corcoran agrees to give them the $50k, but she wants a 25% stake in exchange for it. Considering that none of the other sharks had shown any interest in Mix Bikini, they are quick to accept the deal before she has time to change her mind about it.

Mix Bikini Now In 2026 – After Shark Tank Update

The deal with Barbara was eventually finalized. To celebrate, they rented out a nightclub for an evening and put on one of the biggest parties the city has ever seen. Barbara was also their guest of honour.

After a while, the champagne ran out. The bills also started rolling in and it was then that she realized she had lost her investment in the brand. For one thing, their website had crashed after their segment aired. To make matters worse, it took them an entire week to fix the issue; this led to an estimated loss of $200,000 in sales and Barbara was forced to cut her losses.

As a result, Adam and Frank bailed out on the company. Fortunately, Kelsey Duffy, one of their creative partners, managed to save the business by rebranding it as Versakini. She also began working with Amanda Perna, a former Project Runway designer, on the bikinis.

Versakini’s Instagram page hasn’t been updated since early 2018

And for many years, the company did great. The prices might have been a little higher than what they were during their Mix Bikini Days but the general concept was the same and customers seemed to love it. In 2018 alone, they made more than $8 million in revenue.

However, it didn’t last. By early 2022, they no longer had any products for sale despite the website still being up. They also seem to have abandoned their social media pages; they haven’t been updated since January 2018.

The Versakini website is no longer connected to a Shopify store as of [year]

As of today, their website is no longer online. The domain itself still works, but it’s no longer connected to a Shopify store.

According to Kelsey’s LinkedIn profile, the company officially shut down in 2018. Since then, she has worked several jobs. She was a Marketing Director at Aiden Image from February 2018 to March 2019 and later worked as a Director of Communications and Digital Engagement at Page Society from July 2019 to November 2019. And since 2020, she has been working as a Web and Design Consultant for The Rockefeller Foundation.

Adam holding one of their signature sandwiches in front of one of their DiSOo’s food trucks

As for Frank and Adam, they had moved on to other things after leaving the company.
