How did Chief Keef make his money & wealth?

Keith Cozart, better known by his stage name Chief Keef, was born in Chicago in 1995. Keef took to rap at a young age, and it’s said that he began rapping at the age of 5. By the time he was in high school, he amassed a small fan base of teens who were local to Chicago’s South Side community. In December of 2011, a year after Keef had dropped out of high school, he was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and placed under house arrest. A special force is a specially trained military unit that carries out unique or special operations that can’t be completed by standard military forces. If you’ve ever watched an action movie, I’m sure you’re familiar with this concept. Basically, a special force consists of extraordinary individuals who go out and complete top-secret missions. Pretty much every country with a military has at least one form of special force. In this article, I’m going to be talking about some of the best special forces in the entire world.

10. The Snow Leopard Commando Unit

The Snow Leopard Commando Unit (SWCU) is a police tactical unit of the People’s Republic of China. Since their inception, they have been tasked with riot control, counterterrorism hostage rescue, bomb disposal, crowd control, and counterinsurgency, among other high-risk tasks. Like all special forces, the unit is incredibly well-trained and can operate in all weather and terrain conditions.

While they’ve been active since 2002, their existence was only revealed in 2006. Two years later, the unit underwent a name change—from the Snow Wolf Commando Unit to the Snow Leopard Commando Unit (they were originally named after the cunning and brave snow wolf, who can survive even in the harshest conditions).

9. Britain’s Special Boat Service

The Special Boat Service (SBS) is one of the UK’s most secretive and elite military units. The selection process for the team has a 90 percent failure rate and includes a taxing four-week endurance test—one that includes a 40km march.

We’re brought to our first United States special forces unit: the Green Berets. The Green Berets have been around since 1952, and they mostly work in missions related to unconventional warfare, counter-terrorism, internal defense, peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance, hostage rescue, reconnaissance, and more. During their many decades of operations, the Green Berets have seen action in World War II, the Bosnian War, the Gulf War, the Vietnam War, the Salvadoran Civil War, the Somali Civil War, and even the Cold War. Due to the amount of work that a member of the Green Berets will perform in foreign countries, you are required to speak a foreign language in order to join this unit. Training typically lasts between 55 and 95 weeks, depending on which foreign language you chose. Once your basis training has been completed, you can train for advanced skills like parachuting, diving, and sniping.

6. Delta Force

The 1st Special Forces Operation Detachment-Delta, also known as Delta Force, is one of the most powerful special mission units under the United States Army. Their actions are highly classified, but we know that they have engaged in the Gulf War, the Somali Civil War, the Yugoslav War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Iraq War since the force’s founding in 1977. Delta Force was originally formed during the 1970’s in response to highly publicized terrorist attacks that seriously disturbed the American public. If you want to be a part of this elite counter-terrorist group, you have to put in a lot of work. Delta Force has a brutal selection process that tests applicants based on physicality and psychology, and only about 12 to 14 applicants out of 240 usually get through it. That’s before training has even officially begun!

5. Special Service Group

Next is the Special Service Group, which is probably the greatest special operations unit in the Pakistan Army. The Special Service Group, also known as SSG, was formed in 1956, and it’s about as big as 8 battalions, headed by Major-General Tahir Masood Bhutta. It’s base is located in the Tarbela Cantonment in Pakistan. During the early years of this unit, training was largely inspired by the training of special forces units in the United States. (During the Cold War, Pakistan worked very closely with the United States.) Today, they’re also known for their skillful use of Chinese training and tactics. The SSG is mostly an anti-terrorist group today, but they’ve also done extensive work in reconnaissance, sabotage, and raiding. The Special Service Group has seen engagements in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the Soviet War in Afghanistan, the War in North-West Pakistan, the War in Afghanistan, and more.

4. Spetsnaz

The word Spetsnaz is an abbreviation of a Russian term that roughly translates in English to Special Purpose Forces or Special Purpose Military Units. Spetsnaz is often used to refer to the special forces units belonging to Russia, but it can often be used to refer to special forces units belonging to former Soviet states. (When the Soviet Union dissolved, these countries kept their individual special forces.) There are several Spetsnaz units based out of Russia, with one related to combined arms, seven related to Russian Ground Forces, one related to Russian Airborne Troops, and four related to Naval Special Operations. The doings of all of these units are highly secretive, but we know that they’ve performed operations during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, the Second Chechen War, and during anti-terrorist operations conducted prior to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. It has also been alleged that Spetsnaz forces are performing various operations in the Syrian Civil War.

3. MARCOS

MARCOS used to be known as MCF, which stood for Marine Commando Force. The new name, MARCOS, is derived from the words Marina Commandos. Although it’s undergone a name change, this is still known as the most elite special forces unit in the Indian Navy. MARCOS was established in 1987, and they perform a variety of different tasks related to direct action, counter-terrorism, personnel recovery, hostage rescue, reconnaissance, search and rescue, and unconventional warfare. Members of MARCOS are trained to use pretty much every kind of weapon, including sniper rifles, assault rifles, knives, crossbows, and handguns. Training typically takes between two to three years, and trainees learn all about skydiving, explosive disposal, insertion methods, demolitions, parachuting, and submarines. This highly professional special forces unit is greatly feared by terrorists, who are plenty aware of how deadly and effective they are in the field.

2. Navy SEALs

We’ve talked about two other special forces in the United States already, but the Navy SEALs are the very best of the best. SEAL stands for “Sea, Air, and Land”, which is what these operatives are trained to work in. The Navy SEALs have been around since 1962, and although its exact size is unknown, it’s capable of having up to 2,450 positions filled. This force has seen engagements in the Vietnam War, the Somali Civil War, Operation Desert Storm, the Yugoslav War, the War in Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, the War in North-West Pakistan, and the War on ISIL. Their operations typically relate to coutner-terrorism, hostage rescue, raids, and reconnaissance. Probably the most recent, most well-known success of this unit was the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden. These people are seen as heroes by those living in the United States, and they have have movies made about them, like Lone Survivor, Zero Dark Thirty, Act of Valor, and American Sniper.

I debated which of these two I should put on top, but I think it’s only fair to place the British Special Air Service over the Navy SEALs because, basically, the SEALs based a lot of their tactics and training on what the SAS has always been doing. They were originally founded in 1941, and they specialize in work related to counter-terrorism, reconnaissance, hostage rescue, and wartime operations. They have performed countless successful operations during the years, especially during World War II. In World War II, the Special Air Service suffered 330 casualties but they had killed or wounded 7,733 enemies and captured around 23,000 of them. This, obviously, is an incredible success. The team didn’t really acquire international recognition until 1980 when, on television, they rescued numerous hostages during the Iranian Embassy siege. They’re a seriously talented and efficient unit, and they have been saving lives before some of these other units were even an idea.

While trendspotting for New Era Caps in Japan, Tim Talley was struck with an idea. Although outfits consist of many different components, it seems as though shoes are considered one of the most important (and expensive) part of any casual outfit. Lorrie Greiner said that although she liked the idea of the product and thought it would be highly successful, she felt that the laces were too uncomfortable to invest in. Robert Herjavec also loved the product and he loved Talley, but he felt that he wasn’t experienced enough in the fashion business to give U-Lace the help that it needed.

And so it was Daymond’s turn. Being such a large presence in fashion, he would definitely bring a lot of value to the company. However, he said that although he loved the product, he had recently entered into a partnership with another sneaker company that could be seen as a potential competitor. It was a conflict of interest, and he didn’t feel right dropping the other company. Citing ethical concerns, he stated that he had no choice but to drop out of a potential investment. However, Daymond was sure to tell the other Sharks that Talley was “the real deal”, and that U-Lace was “a real company”.

Kevin O’Leary gave U-Lace an offer of $200k for 50% equity, which is much less than the $200k for 25% that Talley was looking for. Talley countered O’Leary with $200k for 35% equity, which Mark Cuban went in and immediately accepted. Mark promised that he would work hard to get the laces into the Dallas Mavericks shop, and the two embarked on their partnership together.

The deal with Mark successfully closed after the episode aired. Being on the show also gave the brand exposure, which helped increased sales. Eventually, they were able to get into in 7-11 and Target stores. Not only that, but they also began selling the product on Amazon.

In fact, the number of magazine readers in the United States has remained almost the same over the past several years, according to one annual study.

10. People

People is a weekly magazine that centers around celebrity news. Debuted in February 1974, the magazine was originally sold in supermarkets for a cover price of 35 cents.

Fast forward to 2009 and it had become the most popular magazine in the United States with a readership of over 46 million people. While its readership has declined in recent years, it still has one of the largest audiences and is known for its excellence in circulation, editorial, and advertising. As of 2018, more than 3.4 million copies of the magazine were in circulation.

The magazine also releases yearly special issues, which names the “Sexiest Man Alive”, “Best and Worst Dressed”, and “World’s Most Beautiful.” Not only that but they also have an annual list of the 100 most beautiful people. Some celebrities who have been included in the list include Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

People also have a popular online website, which also focuses on human interest stories and celebrity news.

In 2021, People Magazine was purchased by Dotdash for $2.7 billion, alongside other publications including InStyle, Entertainment Weekly, and Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Journal.

9. Game Informer

Game Informer is a monthly video game magazine that features strategy, news, reviews, and articles of video games and consoles. Based in Minneapolis, the magazine debuted in 1991 when FuncoLand, a video game retailer, began publishing an in-house newsletter. As of 2026, it is owned and published by the video game retailer GameStop, who purchased FuncoLand back in 2000.

Currently, the magazine reviews games on PC, as well as those on consoles including Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, X Box Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Not only that but they also review mobile games for iOS and Android devices. While they used to give individual reviews of the same game for each console that it was available for, they have since consolidated the reviews for the game into one, with notes for the specific versions.

In addition to the print magazine, they also have a website called Game Informer Online, which features daily news as well as review. Every year, they also release a list of the “Top 50 Games” of the year, which are sorted by release date. While they’re not ranked, they do give certain titles awards such as “Game of the Year”.

8. National Geographic

National Geographic is a monthly magazine that’s known for including color photos, which was first introduced in the early 1930s. Founded in 1888, the magazine started out as a scholarly journal when the society was first established; it wasn’t until after the cold war that they began focusing on environmental issues.

By 1995, the National Geographic magazine was released in nearly 40 languages worldwide with more than 6.5 million issues in circulation.

Nowadays, the magazine, which is known for its yellow border and thick glossy format, features a number of topics including science, history, world culture, nature, and geography. It has been owned by the Walt Disney Company since its acquisition in 2019.

Over the years, the magazine has also won a number of accolades including three National Magazine Awards for its written content, an American Society of Magazine Editors’ Generla Excellence Award for more than 2 million copies in circulation, and a Webby People’s Voice Award. In 2020, they also won a Webby Award for the Apps, Mobile & Voice category.

7. T Magazine

T: The New York Times Style Magazine is a magazine publication of The New York Times that’s dedicated to travel, living, fashion, holiday, and beauty coverage. Launched in 2004, it was published 13 times per year up until 2016, after which it has been published 11 times annually (it is distributed in the Sunday edition of The New York Times newspaper).

Founded in 1922 by husband and wife team DeWitt Wallace and Lila Bell Wallace, the magazine, which is based in Chappaqua, New York, is released ten times a year and is one of the best-selling consumer magazines in the U.S. In fact, it ranked number one for several years until 2009, when it was overtaken by Better Homes and Garden.

Having said that, it’s still the most popular paid magazine in the world with more than 10.5 million copies in circulation. Aside from the American edition, there are also global editions in over 70 different countries in 21 languages. For example, an Arabic edition was published in Egypt in 1943. International editions are also available in Finland, Cuba, Netherlands, Poland, Thailand, Canada, Serbia, Ukraine, and other countries.

Not only that but it’s also available in audio, Braille, and digital. A large-type edition is also published regularly.

According to one study, Reader’s Digest is the most popular magazine among households with incomes more than $100,000, beating Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Inc., and Fortune combined.

5. Forbes Magazine

Forbes Magazine is a business magazine that provides reliable news and information on investing, technology, lifestyle, law, communications and entrepreneurship. Founded by B.C. Forbes and Walter Drey in 1917, the magazine is well known for its rankings and lists, including The Forbes Global 2000, The World’s Billionaires, the Forbes 400, The World’s Most Powerful People, and The Wealthiest Celebrities.

Like most of the magazines on our list, Forbes also has an international edition, which is published in Asia. Not only that but it also has other international editions in 27 countries worldwide. For example, there’s Forbes Africa, Forbes China, Forbes France, Forbes Lithuania, Forbes Russia, Forbes Indonesia, and Forbes Colombia, all of which are published in their local languages.

Aside from the printed magazine, Forbes also has a website, which receives over 27 million unique visitors every month. India Today is an English-language news magazine that’s published every week. Aside from the news, it also provides detailed information on the business, technology, politics, lifestyle, travel, and Bollywood-related topics. As of 2026, it’s the best-selling magazine in India, with a readership of nearly 8 million across the country.

Debuted in 1975, the magazine was established by Vidya Vilas Purie, the owner of Thompson Press, the largest commercial printer company in India; his son Aroon Purie served as its publisher while his daughter Madhu served as the editor.

Nowadays, the magazine is also published in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. In 2014, they also launched DailyO, an online opinion-oriented website. It was followed by the India Today news channel in 2015.

Filmfare Magazine is the number one entertainment magazine in India. Published by Worldwide Media, it features a number of pieces involving fashion, news, style, and events. Top 10 Asian Football Players In 2026

Without further ado, here are some of the best football players of Asian descent.

10. Ryo Miyaichi

Ryou Miyaichi is a Japanese professional footballer who plays for the Japan National Team. Not only that but he’s also a winger for the Yokohama F. Marinos. Known for his ability to dribble and run past defenders, he has been regarded as one of the most talented youth aspects in world football.

Born into a sporting family, he started playing football as a young child. He later joined the school football club in high school. Not long after graduating, he signed a professional contract with Arsenal after impressing the manager, Arlene Wenger. Without a work permit, however, he was ultimately loaned to the Dutch football team Feyenoord, with whom he made his professional debut.

From there, he was loaned out to the Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic. He then returned to the Eredivisie for several years before returning to Japan, where he signed for the Yokohama F. Marinos. Assigned the number 17 jersey, he made his debut in 2021 against the Nagoya Grampus, where he came onto the field as a substitute. He later played against the Vietnamese champions HAGL during the AFC Champions League, where the team ultimately won 2-1.

Due to a cruciate ligament injury in his right knee, however, he will be sitting out the rest of the 2022 season.

9. Shunsuke Nakamura

Shunsuke Nakamura is the only football player to have been named J.League Most Valuable Player more than once. Born and raised in Japan, he began his professional career with the Yokohama Marinos in 1997, with whom he made over 330 league appearances. In between, he also played in Europe with Regina, Celtic, and Espanyol. During that period, he was named SFWA Footballer of the Year, Scottish Player of the Year, and became the first Japanese player to land a goal in the UEFA Champions League.

He later played for the Japan national team, with whom he scored 24 goals. He also played for them during the AFC Asian Cup and the FIFA World Cup Finals in 2006 and 2010. Not only that but he was also named a member of the Japan under-23 team for the 2000 Summer Olympics, which took place in Sydney.

Following the 2010 World Cup, he announced his retirement from international football. However, he’s still active in the football scene in Japan. In 2011, he was appointed captain of the Yokohama Marinos. Since then, he has played against several notable players including Yasuhito Endo, Oita Trinita, Masami Ihara, Jubilo Iwata, and Gamba Osaka.

8. Yasuhito Endou

Yasuhito Endou is a Japanese football player who plays for Jubilo Iwata. A central midfielder who’s known for his leadership, goal scoring ability, and passing ability, he joined the Yokohama Flugels after graduating from high school in 1998. Together, they went on to win the 1998 Emperor’s Cup. Due to financial constraints, however, the club was ultimately disbanded afterward.

He subsequently joined Kyoto Purple Sanga with contemporaries Hideo Oshima and Kazuki Teshima.

He then moved to Gamba Osaka in 2001, where he became a central player for the club. He was also named a J.League Best Eleven player for ten years in a row from 2003 to 2012. Not only that but he also helped the team win the J1 League Championships in 2005.

From there, they went on to win the AFC Champions League twice in 2008 and 2009. They also won the Emperor’s cup. For his contributions, he was named Asian Footballer of the Year in 2009. Since then, the team has won three major titles in Japan: the Emperor’s Cup, J. League Cup, and J1 League. Endo was also named the J.League MVP for the first time.

Following that, he was transferred to Jubilo Iwata.

7. Ki Sung-Yueng

Ki Sung-Yeung is a South Korean football player who plays as a defensive and central midfielder for FC Seoul. Born and raised in Gwangju, South Korea, he began playing football in his elementary school days. He later went to Australia, where he studied at John Paul College Under the Brain Soccer Program.  Not only was he a member of the school team but he also helped them win the Bill Turner Cup in 2004.

By 2005, he had received offers from the A-League club Queensland Roar and the South Korean club FC Seoul. He ultimately chose to return to South Korea to continue his career and education. After graduating from high school in 2006, he joined FC Seoul where he played alongside Lee Chung-yong. He eventually made his senior debut in 2007 during the K league.

In the end, he was a full international for South Korea from 2008 to 2019. With the team, which he led as captain, he participated in three Asian Cups. He also represented the country at two Summer Olympic Games, winning the bronze medal in 2012.

Since then, he has won the Scottish Cup and Scottish Premiere League with Celtic. He later announced that he will be retiring from international football in 2019.

6. Koo Ja-Cheol

Koo Ja-cheol is considered one of the most successful South Korean football players of all time. A midfielder, he currently plays for Jeju United. He’s also played for the German Bundesliga, alongside Son Heung-min and Cha Bum-kun, Mainz 05, FC Augsburg, and VFL Wolfsburg. Not only that but he was also the captain of the South Korean national team for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, where they won bronze.

Born on February 27, 1989, Koo started playing football at the age of ten after a nearby elementary school opened a football club. Back then, he mostly played as a defender. However, his abilities weren’t particularly outstanding.

Later as a high school student, he participated in a football competition in Baekrok, where he led the school team to win second place. His performance in the game also caught the attention of Jung Hae-seong, the manager of Jeju United. He was later selected by  Jeju in 2007 during the K League draft. Due to numerous injuries, however, his performance was unremarkable. It wasn’t until 2010 that people started to notice his talent. Since then, he has received numerous donors including the Fantastic Player Award, Best XI Player Award, and Top Assists Award.

5. Ali Al Habsi

Ali Al-Habsi is an Omani football player that made his debut with Al-Mudhaibi in 1998. A goalkeeper, he ultimately stayed with the team for four years before transferring to Al-Nasr in 2002. From there, he transferred to Bolton Wanderers in 2006. However, many people expressed concerns about the transfer as there was a conflict of interest between his father, his agent, and the club itself. As a result, he did not make any appearances with the team during his first year. It wasn’t until 2007 that he made his full Bolton debut.

In 2010, he was loaned to Wigan Athletic, their local rivals. He subsequently made his debut in a League Cup match and was named player of the season. It was later announced in 2011 that he had joined Wigan Athletic permanently, having signed a £4 contract. It was around that same time that he himself as a penalty saver, having saved nearly half of all penalties faced.

Several years later, he was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he ultimately played one game for the team before returning to Wigan. From there, he signed a three-year contract with Al-Hilal in 2017. However, he was ultimately released without ever having made an appearance in 2020. That same year, he announced his retirement from professional football.

4. Shinji Kagawa

Shinji Kagawa is a Japanese football player who plays as an attacking midfielder for the Japan national team and the Belgium First Division club Sint-Truiden. He’s often considered as one of the best Japanese players of all time.

Born and raised in Kobe, Hyogo, he started playing football when he was five years old. He later joined the Marino Football Club in 1994, with whom he played until 1999. From there, he joined the Kobe NK Football Club.

At the age of 17, his talent was noticed by Cerezo Osaka, who offered him a professional contract even before he completed high school. He ultimately accepted the offer and was given a regular position in 2007. That same year, he represented Japan as a member of the under-20 national team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which took place in Canada.

In 2008, he made his senior international debut where he and his team won against Ivory Coast. Later in 2013, he was named to Japan’s 23-member team for the FIFA Confederations Cup, where he ended up scoring the second goal for Japan during a match against Italy.

3. Lee Chung-Yong

Lee Chung-yong plays for the South Korean National Team and for Ulsan Hyundai as a winger. As a young teen, he caught the attention of Cho Kwang-rae, the manager of FC Seoul, while playing a game in middle school. Recognizing that he had massive potential, Cho offered him a contract on the spot.

Lee subsequently dropped out of school and joined FC Seoul, which was then known as Anyang LG Cheetahs. After being a substitute in the 2004 League Cup, he made his debut in the K League in 2006. With the team, he went on to hone his skills over the next several years.

In 2007, he broke into the first team after Senol Gunes joined FC Seoul as manager. The following year, he became a regular, scoring five goals and playing 22 league matches.

In 2009, it was announced that Lee Chung-yong would be joining the Bolton Wanderers. A £2.2 million transfer, it was officially confirmed that August. Around that same time, he made his first Bolton appearance in a match against Sunderland, where he scored the first goal. The team would go on to win 2-1.

Currently, he plays for the K League 1 club Ulsan Hyundai, which he signed for back in 2020. That same year, they won the 2020 AFC Champions League.

2. Keisuke Honda

Keisuke Honda is the coach and general manager of the Cambodia national team. Known for his powerful striking ability and dribbling skills, he usually plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a false nine, deep-lying playmaker, or winger.  Throughout his career, he has earned more than 90 international caps and has played at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 World Cups. In 2011, he and his team also won the Asian Cup.

Born and raised in Osaka, he began his youth career at Gamba Osaka. After graduating high school, he joined Nagoya Grampus Eight, with whom he started his professional career.

After playing with them for three years, he signed a 2.5 year deal with VVV-Venlo. During the 2008-09 season, he made 36 league appearances and scored 16 goals. He was eventually transferred to CSKA Moscow in 2009. Since then, he has played for several other teams including AC Milan, Pachuca, Melbourne Victoria, and Vitesse. Most recently, he played for Suduva Marijampole in 2021. Not only that, but he was also a member of the Japan National Team from 2008 to 2018.

1. Park Ji Sung

Park Ji-sung is a former professional football player who played as a midfielder for several teams including Kyoto Purple Sanga, PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, Queens Park Rangers, and PSV Eindhoven. Not only that but he was also a member of the South Korea National Team from 2000 to 2011. With them, he scored 13 goals and won 100 caps.

Known for his discipline and work ethic, he began his career in his native South Korea, where he played for Myongji University. From there, he eventually moved to Japan after signing with Kyoto Purple Sanga. After his manager for the national team moved to the Netherlands, Park followed him to the Dutch side. His talents were subsequently recognized by Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager of Mancester United, who offered him a £4 million contract.

PolarPro is a company with a fairly simple premise. This California-based company is aimed at action sport enthusiasts and cinematographers around the world. Jeff Overall founded the company with the intention of designing, manufacturing, and selling different accessories, which are meant to be used in tandem with popular cameras like the GoPro. Entering the tank, Overall had a few signature products that he was most proud of. The first item that he intended to showcase was the PowerPole, a battery integrated GoPro extension pole. It may look like just your average “selfie stick”, but the unique thing about this product is that it allows users to charge their camera while they record themselves from different angles. This was PolarPro’s most popular product at the time, but he had a few others that he wanted to show off, too.

Another signature PolarPro product that he wanted to showcase was the PowerVault, an integrated battery charging case. The convenient carrying case allows GoPro users to charge multiple batteries or USB devices, regardless as to how far away they are from a conventional power source. In essence, the PowerVault is the ultimate portable charger. Finally, Overall wanted the sharks to see some of his drone filter sets. This particular product is meant to be placed over the lens of a drone camera, allowing drone users to capture vibrant and clear footage while still being able to protect the lenses that are mounted to their expensive toys. Entering the tank, PolarPro had a huge amount of product demand, and they felt as though an investment from the sharks could help push their company over the top.

Walking into the tank, Jeff Overall established a strong presence early on with a fairly weighty ask. He was seeking an investment of $500,000 in exchange for just 10% equity in the company. He showed off each of his products (the PowerPole, the PowerVault, and the drone filter sets) one at a time, and the sharks were impressed by the quality and ingenuity of his products. Daymond asked whether or not the products were actually selling, and Overall answered in the affirmative, saying that he had 31 different skews (or model variants) on the market at the time. Jeff was also quick to assure the sharks that PolarPro designed, manufactured, and marketed every product on their own. He also told the sharks that the drone camera filters was his most popular, best-selling item by far.

“What do the fillers sell for?” Robert asked. Jeff told him that the filters sold in differently sized packs. The three pack sold for $69.99, and the six pack sold for $149.99. Overall boasted a little bit about his profit margins, too, saying that they cost around $12 to make. Daymond was a little confused about what the filter actually did to image quality. Jeff explained that different filters did different things. He said that PolarPro sold polarizer filters as well as neutral density filters. Robert, in turn, asked the golden question. What have PolarPro’s sales been like? Overall went on to explain the meteoric rise of his company. In 2011, they made $8,000. From there, they made $2.8 million. That year, Overall stated, they were on track to make about $5.6 million.

The sharks were impressed by these figures, to say the least. Lori asked how he could have possibly ramped up his earnings in that way. Overall took a moment to explain his strategy in managing the business. He took his profits and reinvested them, allowing him to create more accessories that other people had not yet made. Jeff explained that the PolarPro team was young and innovative, meaning that there was never any shortage of creativity or drive among them. Robert, who was impressed by this young guy’s enthusiasm, asked him about his background. Overall described his start as an entrepreneur, as a teenager selling crabs online. He then went on to describe the circumstances of PolarPro’s beginnings.

While he was studying at UC Santa Barbara, Jeff Overall was a member of the ski team. When he went to film his shenanigans from a camera, he was disappointed when he realized that his video didn’t look anything like a professionally produced ski movie. He did some research to determine what professionals were doing different. Overall found that most action sports producers use polarizer filters while they film, and he figured that he could make a business by selling them. Jeff explained how he used some of his money from student loans to get his business up and running. At this point, the pitch was running very smoothly for the young entrepreneur. The tides were changing, though.

Kevin asked how much Jeff stood to earn from his $5.6 million profit. Jeff estimated that the profit at the end of the year should turn out to be around $300,000, which confused the sharks. He tried to explain that he wasn’t doing a lot to take profit, and that most of the money being earned was being reinvested into research and development. Mark said that, with the company’s margins, he should be making over a million dollars. Overall disclosed that he was currently spending over a million dollars on research and development at that point, with the majority of the money going towards tooling and product design. Knowing this, Kevin dropped out, stating that the computer electronics market was too competitive, and that PolarPro wasn’t made of the right stuff to compete with the big guys.

Mark didn’t seem all that deterred, though. He asked Jeff whether or not he was in any major stores yet, and Jeff explained that he was currently in numerous independent surf shops. He was still working really hard to get his product into big box stores like Best Buy or Sports Authority. Seeing the tremendous amount of promise in this market, Mark offered $500,000 for 10% of the company. This is exactly the deal that Jeff walked into the tank looking for. However, he stated that he was still looking to evaluate other offers that the sharks may bring to the table. Daymond asked Mark if he was willing to split the deal with him, increasing the equity given to around 15%. Mark respectfully declined.

From this point forward, there was an absolute feeding frenzy. Daymond threw up an offer of $500,000 for 15%, saying that he could help PolarPro with all of their licensing. Lori offered her assistance as a strategic partner, giving up $500,000 for 10% of the company. Robert argued that we thought the business would be able to grow faster with more money, and he formed a joint deal with Mark. They would both put $500,000 into the company and receive 10% in the company. Jeff was eager to accept this deal, and he would ultimately go on to grow his business with both Robert and Mark. Exiting the tank, he expressed his excitement for the future.

PolarPro Now In 2026 – The After Shark Tank Update

Jeff ended up receiving $1 million in exchange for a 20% stake, which was twice as much as what he was looking for. Thanks to that, the company has grown significantly. While they haven’t landed any deals with any major retailers, they have made it into several hobby shops. Their products are also selling well online. If anything, their appearance on the show only boosted their sales.

As of 2026, they sell various accessories including filters (for both smartphones and DSLR cameras) cables, tripods, lens covers, camera straps, and memory card cases. Some of their newest products include the Ultralight Matte Box, Litechaser Pro Mobile Lens & Filter System, and Quartzline FX Anamorphic-Style Streak Filters. They also offer apparel such as puffer jackets, rain shell jackets, fleece sweaters, short sleeve shirts, and long sleeve shirts. Prices range from $49.99 to $199.99+ and shipping is free within the United States ($25 for international shipping). 

They’ve also partnered up with Otterbox, an electronics accessory company, to create a line of snap-on accessories for smartphones. For example, they’ve released speakers, fish-eye lenses, card readers, and batteries.  

In terms of new products, they’ll be releasing a new camera backpack called the Boreal 50L next year. According to the product page, it’s made from 600D polyester and will feature a DWR coating, which makes it 50% thicker than traditional camera bags. The straps and stitching are also stress-tested at 100 pounds, so it will be able to carry even the heaviest of gear. The main compartment will also be oversized (with a depth of 6.25 inches) so you won’t have to worry about having to cram your lenses and camera bodies into the bag. 

That’s not all, it’ll also come with easy-clip buckles, water bottle holders, removable hip belts, top key-drop pockets, and more. For those who are interested, the backpack is available for preorder from their official website; there’s no need to pay the full price upfront, you can reserve it for just $20 (the product will ship in April 2023). You can also sign up for notifications if you want to know when the backpack is launched but don’t want to make a preorder at the moment. 

So yeah, the company seems to be doing fairly well. The last that we checked, they were on track to earn $4.7 million in sales. Jeska Shoe Company was a small company coming out of Emerson, Arkansas, founded by Jessica Haynes. The primary product behind Jeska Shoe Company is their heels, which offer a level of versatility and convenience that most high heels don’t have. The idea behind the product is simple — a shoe can be changed from a stiletto to a wedge by simply snapping one attachment off and putting on another. The idea of a “modular” or interchangeable high heeled shoe is so ingenious that it’s almost hard to believe that no one else has ever thought of it before. By being able to change the look of their shoes this quickly and easily, the product allows women to have shoes that always match their outfit without having to haul around multiple pairs of shoes.

However, that isn’t to say that her product took off immediately. Prior to coming onto Shark Tank, Jeska Shoe Company didn’t exist. It didn’t have any pre-existing sales. It was essentially a start-up with a single prototype in its interchangeable heel product. In fact, Jessica Haynes had sought out the help of several other investors prior to coming onto the show, and she was turned down by every single one. Stepping into the Shark Tank, she was sort of desperate to come to a deal with someone. In her words, the sharks were her very last hope for taking her prototype out to market and making her dreams a reality.

Jessica Haynes entered the Shark Tank asking for $70,000 in exchange for 30% of her company. This was a fairly modest ask — she was evaluating her company’s worth to be close to $250,000. When she demonstrated how her interchangeable heels worked, the sharks, Robert and Barbara in particular, were seriously impressed by the product. Jessica showed off the mechanism that allowed all of the magic to happen: magnets. The sharks were less impressed, however, when they learned that Jeska Shoe Company had yet to make any sales.

Kevin was the first shark to point out that Haynes wasn’t actually the first person to come up with the detachable heel, which Haynes didn’t refute. When the sharks were confused by this claim (since they hadn’t seen a product like this in stores before) Kevin explained that shoe companies chose not to sell the detachable heel product because it made them less money than just selling women several pairs of shoes. When Mark asked Haynes how she would make her product stand out if it were to hit the market, Haynes revealed her business plan. She intended to license her technology to an existing brand.

Kevin was quick to ridicule Haynes for her ambition, saying that it was foolish for her to think that she would be able to compete with the other big-name shoe companies. She stood strong, however, and said that although it would be difficult, she thought it was more than possible to achieve. When Kevin asked how much she intended selling her product for, Jessica said that she was currently estimating for them to sell for around $200. Daymond immediately questioned the weight behind that figure, asking how she could possibly have come up with an estimate when she hadn’t even made any actual shoes yet. (Remember, all she had at this point was a prototype.) Haynes clarified, however, that she had worked with a manufacturer during pre-production, and that she felt that her estimate was well-informed.

At this point, it didn’t really seem like the sharks were going to bite. However, when Jessica disclosed that she had put over $60,000 of personal funds into the company, Robert asked where that money came from. From there, she shared a heartfelt story about how help from her grandfather and her parents (as well as full-time work) allowed her to put the money into her dream. Daymond was touched by this story, and he said that his mother had done the same thing for him when he had first become an entrepreneur.

Robert interrupted the two and said that he felt as though maybe the reason why the concept of the interchangeable heel never took off was because women preferred to purchase multiple pairs of shoes. Jessica shared the story of another company with a similar concept that had been very, very successful. This silenced Robert, for now. Kevin asked Jessica, hypothetically, if she were to receive an investment, how would she plan on distributing the product? Jessica admitted that she didn’t really have a plan in place for the future, and that she hoped a shark would help her create one. Annoyed by her lack of preparedness, Kevin dropped out.

Mark dropped out next for a different reason: he wasn’t all that familiar with the shoe business. Barbara posed Jessica a simple question. If the first set of shoes cost $200, how much would it cost the consumer to purchase a set of heels afterwards? Jessica told her that the parts would cost anywhere between $20 and $30. This caused Barbara to drop out of contention, saying that she felt the overall price of the product was too greedy, and that most people would just opt to buy multiple pairs of shoes for that price.

With that, Daymond was the last shark remaining. Daymond and Jessica had already shared a little bit of a bonding moment over their common pasts with their families. With that, the shark explained that investing in Jeska Shoe Company was a huge gamble. All she seemed to have was debt and inexperience, but Daymond said that he also saw a lot of courage in her, as well. With that, he offered to invest $70,000 in exchange for 70% equity in the company. He knew that his ask was little greedy, but he said that he was willing to make a good employee out of Jessica, and that he would guide her through every choice and impasse. Jessica was happy to have an investor interested in her company and, saying that she would be happy to be a small part of a big thing, accepted Daymond’s offer.

Jeska Shoe Company Now In 2026 – The After Shark Tank Update

Hayes might have received an offer from Daymond, however, things didn’t go quite as planned as they never made it to the market.

In October 2014, just a little over a year after she appeared on Shark Tank, she announced on the company’s Facebook page that they will be shutting down. In the same post, she thanked her family, friends, and fans for their support and stated that she will always cherish the experience and dream of the Jeska shoe. She also mentioned Daymond, thanking him for his support and mentorship through the endeavor, and revealed that he’s very nice to work with.

Since it was first posted on Facebook, the announcement has received nearly 400 likes. Not only that, but many fans also left words of support in the comments section.

Since then, Hayes has only updated the Facebook page once and that was when she highlighted another interchangeable shoe that went on Shark Tank. She also took the opportunity to thank her fans again, saying that “[their] words are still inspiring to this day.”

What is Hayes up to now? According to her LinkedPage, she currently works as a Program Eligibility Specialist Supervisor at the Arkansas Department of Human Services, so as far as we can tell, she’s back to her day job.

Seeing as how she wanted to continue exploring opportunities in entrepreneurship, however, we might very well see her again sometime soon with another product—it just might not be on Shark Tank. For now, only time will tell.

hat happened to Brock Turner following the trial? Is Brock Turner in jail? In this article, I’m going to be answering that question, among a few others. Without further delay, let’s see if we can’t learn some more about this guy.

Brock Turner’s Early Life and the Stanford Incident

Brock Turner was born in 1995 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from high school in 2014, where he swam competitively. Brock didn’t just swim, either. He was a really, really good swimmer. When he graduated from Oakwood High School, he was a three-time All-American. Turner was able to get into Stanford University (one of the top universities in the country, if not the world) on a swimming scholarship. Prior to his arrest for rape, Brock had gotten into a couple of instances of legal trouble. During his time in Stanford and in high school, he was known to illegally abuse substances like alcohol and drugs. In 2014, he was arrested for possessing alcohol while being under the legal age. At the time, these may have just seemed like stupid mistakes made by a dumb teenager. However, Turner would eventually show a proclivity for an even more heinous type of crime.

On January 18th, 2015, two Swedish graduate students were cycling around Stanford’s campus late at night when they saw Brock Turner in a dark area behind a dumpster. Brock was on top of a woman who appeared to be unconscious. The men, knowing that something was awry, confronted Turner. When Turner attempted to flee, the men chased him down and detained him until campus police were able to arrive. When they came on the scene, the police determined that the woman in question was completely unconscious. She didn’t show signs of conscious response until past 4 am, which was three hours AFTER the cyclists confronted Brock. The woman’s hair was full of pine needles, and blood covered her hands and elbows. Brock was questioned and arrested, and it was found that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.171%. Experts estimated that the woman’s blood alcohol content would have sat at approximately 0.22%. Needless to say, things did not look good at all for Brock Turner.

When the woman finally came to the following morning, she testified that she had very little recollection of the night before. She didn’t remember being alone with anyone, and she didn’t remember consenting to any sexual activity. A medical examination showed that the woman had sustained signs of physical trauma (bruising and scrapes) as well as signs of sexual trauma, from being penetrated. The night before, both Brock Turner and the woman (who was known as Jane Doe during the proceedings) attended a party held by the Kappa Alpha fraternity on campus. Brock told police prior to his arrest that he had hit it off with the girl at the party, and that she enthusiastically accepted his advanced at the party and after they had left the party. He went on say that Jane Doe gave verbal consent prior to becoming unconscious. Jane Doe and her prosecutors would go on to discredit this series of events in the ensuing trial.

Shortly after the incident, in order to avoid disciplinary action, Brock withdrew his enrollment from Stanford. Just a couple of days after his initial arrest, Stanford made the decision to ban Brock from ever stepping foot on campus again. (This is one of the harshest penalties that the university is able to impose on someone.) On January 28th, he was officially indicted on five charges. These charges included rape of an intoxicated person, rape of an unconscious person, along with the intent to rape and inserting a foreign object into the woman. Turner pleaded not guilty to all five of the charges. A few months later, in October, the first two charges of rape were dropped. Although his actions can certainly be considered sexual assault, it wasn’t technically rape, since DNA evidence showed that there was no genital-to-genital contact.

His trial didn’t officially begin until March of 2016, and that’s when the media frenzy really began. The trial itself lasted two weeks, and on March 30th he was officially convicted of the three remaining felony charges of sexual assault. The recommended sentencing for these charges typically sits at about 14 years in prison, but probation officials suggested that Turner just face a moderate amount of time in county jail. Prosecutors were seeking closer to six years in prison, believing that the callous act of sexual assault deserved a very serious punishment. During sentencing deliberations, statements from the victim, Brock, and Brock’s family attracted a lot of media attention. Brock’s statement was 11 pages long, and it reiterated his allegation that the contact he had with Jane Doe was completely consensual. According to Turner, they danced, flirted, and kissed at the party before engaging in sex acts with her on the ground on the Stanford campus.

One of the most controversial statements issued during this trial came from Brock Turner’s father, who believed that his son shouldn’t have twenty years of his life wasted due to a twenty-minute mistake. As one can imagine, this comment was seen as seriously insensitive and out of line. The most influential statement, probably, came from Jane Doe herself. Jane’s statement was just under 8,000 words long, and it eloquently discussed her experience following the assault. In a very graceful way, it also talked about the male privilege and the class privilege that she felt was clearly evident in the trial. She noted her disgust that Brock could potentially get a light sentence due to his family’s affluence, and due to his success as a competitive swimmer. In the end, Brock Turner was sentenced to six months of confinement in county jail, followed by three years of probation. Outside of that, Turner was expected to register as a sex offender and attend a rehabilitation program for sex offenders.

What’s Stanford Rapist Brock Turner Doing Now in 2026 – Recent Updates

Brock Turner was indicted on five charges: two for felony sexual assault, two for rape, and one for attempted rape. Despite that, he was only sentenced to six months in prison (prosecutors recommended six years), which many people believed was way too lenient. To make matters worse, he was released early, after only three months.

In 2019, he completed his three-year probation, though he will remain on the Tier III sex offenders list for life (he will have to re-register his status every 90 days).

The former swimmer, who had previously attended college on a swimming scholarship, has also been banned from Stanford. Not only that, but he has also been barred from participating in any competitive swimming events. Given that, it’s probably fair to say that he won’t be representing the U.S. in the Olympics anytime soon.

In 2019, it was reported that he was working for Tark Inc., a local cooling technology company where he makes $12 an hour. He had previously worked in shipping and receiving and had recently been transferred to quality control. He currently drives a 2008 Chrysler and lives in his parents’ home in Bellbrook, Ohio.

According to an anonymous co-worker, Brock had been with the company for over two years at the time so he likely joined back in 2017, just a year after he was released from the San Jose jail. The same source also said that he’s a ‘reserved character’ who just ‘keeps his head down and does his job.’

Since then, Chanel Miller, whom he had sexually assaulted back in 2015, has written and published a memoir titled, Know My Name: A Memoir, in which she describes her story. In 2019, the book won the National Book Critics Circle Award for autobiographies. It was also named one of the top ten titles of the year by The Washington Post.
