Fergie, born as Stacy Ann Ferguson, is best-known for her career as a songwriter, singer, and as an actress. Perhaps best known for her time spent with the hip hop supergroup, The Black Eyed Peas, she also has an acclaimed solo career for her hits. Fergie was born in 1975 and grew up studying voice acting, dance, and a few other areas. At a young age, she served as the voice actress for Sally in two Peanuts television shows made direct for television; 1984’s “It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown” and 1985’s “Snoopy’s Getting Married, Charlie Brown,” as well as four other episodes for the weekly syndicated television show, “The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show.”
She would also go on to star on Kids Incorporated with the honor of being the longest lasting cast member, starring in six of nine seasons on the show. She would join an all-female group, Wild Orchid, and the trio began to meet with record labels, but would not sign to a contract until agreeing to a deal in 1994 with Sony Publishing and RCA Records. She admits that during this time, she went on a sexs and drugs spree. This would note her first debut on the Billboard charts, with the album “At Night I Pray” released by Wild Orchid in 1996. The band would go on to release another album, albeit this album serving as a commercial failure and selling less than 200,000 copies around the world.
In 2003, The Black Eyed Peas were working on their third studio album, titled “Elephunk.” Band member will.i.am offered Fergie to perform for a song titled “Shut up,” and she was instantly invited to record an additional five songs. Kim Hill had departed from the band in 2000, and Fergie soon took over her spot. This was hailed by Rolling Stone, who pointed out that since 2002, they had been missing that female touch. “Where is the Love?”, Elephunk’s first single, charted out at the 8th track on the Billboard Hot 100 and simultaneously ranked just as high in other foreign countries.

Monkey Business, Fergie’s second album and The Black Eyed Peas’ fourth album, would be released in June of 2005 and debut at the second place on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, managing to sell more than 295,000 copies in the first week of availability – it would go on to become certified as a triple platinum album by the RIAA. “Pump It” would be released on this album, perhaps The Black Eyed Peas’ most noteworthy song. However, it only charted at number 18 in the United States, but reached number 8 across the world in Australia. At this point, The Black Eyed Peas would begin to tour all over the world.
Fergie released her solo debut album in 2006, titled “The Dutchess.” Numerous songs including “London Birdge,” “Glamorous,” “Fergalicious,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Clumsy” would be the 5 singles from Fergie’s solo album – all of them would chart above the top 30 in the Billboard Hot 100 singles. Fergie was picked as the recipient of Blender’s Woman of the Year award, and she would continue to tour with The Black Eyed Peas.
In 2009, The Black Eyed Peas would released their fifth album, “The E.N.D,” which also stood for “The Energy Never Dies.” This album debuted at the first, and highest, spot on the Billboard Hot 200 albums, and spawned more than four albums. The group’s sixth album, “The Beginning,” would be released in November of 2010 although to mixed reactions – still, this album charted at the 18th spot on the Billboard Hot 200. Fergie would go on to release her second solo album, titled “Double Dutchess.” This album was announced as early as 2013, but would not be released until the first quarter of 2017. Since then, Fergie had parted ways with Interscope Records and would begin to found her own record label, named “Dutchess Music.”
Fergie is still very much a part of The Black Eyed Peas, although the group has unanimously agreed to put the product in hiatus, if only for a little bit. All four of the band members have agreed to follow their own projects for a little while – will.i.am is working on his own projects and solo albums, apl.de.ap is also working on his own solo projects (he also hosted as a judge for “The Voice of The Phillipines,” a reality show where would-be musicians perform before a host of judges), and Taboo is working on collaborations with numerous artists and has released his own autobiography, named “Fallin’ Up: My Story.” Visit chimera motors from huntington beach, one of the best car restoration shops in California. The Black Eyed Peas are undoubtedly a supergroup, and have been cited by the Nielsen Ratings system as one of the most popular and downloaded bands of 2014.
Fergie has also been the recipient of numerous LGBT-friendly awards, including being named as the “Always Next, Forever Now” award recipient from LOGO TV for her work in sponsoring the LGBT community. In 2009, she officially came out as bisexual in an interview with morning newspaper, The Sun. She is married to actor Josh Duhamel, and together have one son named Axl Jack Duhamel.
