The son of a personal talent manager, Andrew Lawrence first entered the show business at the tender age of three. Born in Pennsylvania, it didn’t take long for him to follow the same footsteps of his older brothers, actors Matthew and Joey Lawrence. In 1991, he made his small screen debut in the television series, Blossom where he eventually appeared in three episodes.

From there, he received his next role at the age of six, when he was cast as a young boy in the TV film, The Donna Yaklich Story (1994). Shortly afterward, Lawrence received a big break with the comedy series, Tom (1994) in which he was cast as one of the supporting characters. The following year, the young rising star made his motion picture debut in the drama thriller, White Man’s Burden (1995) where he had the chance to work with Kelly Lynch, Harry Belafonte, and John Travolta.

Not long afterward, Lawrence’s received yet another breakthrough after being cast alongside his brothers in the NBC sitcom, Brotherly Love (1995).

Starring alongside his older brothers, Lawrence’s portrayal of Andrew Roman in the show garnered him much widespread attention. Responsible for kick starting his acting career, the sitcom also earned him two consecutive Young Artist Award nominations for “Best Performance by an Actor Under Ten” and “Best Performance in a TV Comedy by Leading Young Actor” in 1996 and 1997.

After being on the show for two years, he appeared in the popular comedy film Bean (1997), prior to making his voice-acting debut in the MGM animated series, The Lionhearts in 1998.

Continuing with voice-work, he subsequently lent his voice to T.J., the lead protagonist of the children’s animated cartoon, Recess (1998). Several guest appearances later in various TV series, Lawrence co-starred in the Fox sitcom, Oliver Beene (2003), alongside Grant Rosenmeyer, Grant Shaud, Wendy Makkena, and Daveigh Chase. Since then, he has also played recurring characters in Runaway (2008), United States of Tara (2009), and Hawaii Five-0 (2013).

In addition to his career on television, Lawrence has appeared in a number of films throughout the past couple of decades. After making his debut in White Man’s Burden (1995), he also appeared in Family Tree (1999), and Horse Sense (1999) prior to Y2K.

Following the new millennium, he starred as T.J. in a handful of Recess movies, prior to landinig roles in Fingerprints (2006), The Least of These (2008), Bones (2010), and October 31 (2012), to name a few. More recently, he has also participated in Confessions of a Womanizer (2013), The Arrangement (2014), and Big Baby (2015). Glancing at his filmography, Lawrence has accumulated well over 50 credits to his name since he first started his acting career.

So what is the youngest of the Lawrence brothers doing nowadays? What new roles can we expect to see him as this upcoming year? What are some of the latest TV shows and movies that he’s partaken in? What happened to Andrew Lawrence? Where is he now in 2018?

Andrew Lawrence’s Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born on January 12, 1988 in Abington, Pennsylvania, Andrew James Lawrence is the son of Joseph Lawrence Sr., an insurance broker and Donna, a talent manager; he is the younger brother of actors Matthew and Joey Lawrence and is of British and Italian ancestry. Shortly after his birth, his family surname was change from “Mignogna” to “Lawrence”. Like his brothers, he started his career in the show business early; following in their footsteps, he first got involved with the show business at the tender age of three. In 1991, Lawrence appeared on television for the first time in the comedy drama, Blossom; playing alongside Jenna von Oy, Mayim Bialik and his older brother Joey, he appeared for a total of three episodes between 1991 and 1994.

From there, the young actor received his next television role in the TV Film, Cries Unheard: The Donna Yaklich Story (1994). Later that same year, Lawrence received a big break after being cast as one of the supporting characters in the comedy series, Tom (1994); unfortunately, the show proved to be short lived as it was cancelled after twelve episodes due to low ratings.

Branching out into film, he made his big screen debut in the drama thriller, White Man’s Burden in 1995, where he had the opportunity to act alongside John Travolta, Kelly Lynch and Harry Belafonte. After appearing in a TV film later that year, Lawrence received a breakthrough when he was cast as Andy Roman, one of the lead protagonists in the NBC sitcom, Brotherly Love (1995) alongside his two brothers; he was only seven at the time of the casting.

Andrew Lawrence’s Breakthrough in Brotherly Love

Created by Jonathan Schmock and Jim Vallely, Brotherly Love revolved around the lives and relationships of three brothers- Joseph, Matthew, and Andrew Roman (played by Joey Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, and Andrew Lawrence respectively) after the death of their father in a fatal accident.

Following the event, Andrew aka Andy, the youngest of the siblings, finds himself struggling with the loss of having a father figure in his life; having said that, he is often depicted as being mischievous with a vivid imagination. In addition to the Lawrence brothers, Brotherly Love also starred Liz Vassey, Michael McShane, and Melinda Culea.

Originally premiered on NBC on September 16, 1995, Brotherly Love received fairly high ratings upon its release on television. Following the broadcast of its first season however, the sitcom was switched to The WB Network in 1996, where it subsequently ran until its end on May 18, 1997. Altogether, the series ran for a total of forty episodes- all of which saw Lawrence as Andy.

Easily his breakthrough role, the sitcom garnered the young up-and-coming actor much attention at the time; not only that, but it also garnered him two consecutive Young Artist Award nominations for “Best Performance in a TV Comedy – Leading Young Actor” and “Best Performance by an Actor Under Ten”. Even to this day, Brotherly Love is one of Lawrence’s most well remembered roles on television.

Highlights from Andrew Lawrence’s Continued Acting Career

In 1998, just a year after the end of Brotherly Love, Lawrence was cast as the lead protagonist in the Disney animated cartoon, Recess; it also marked his voice-acting debut. Created by Joe Ansolabehere and Paul Germain, the series centered around the lives of six elementary school students, and their interaction with other students and teachers. Set at the fictional Third Street Elementary School, the students have set up a society that is complete with its own set of unwritten laws, class system, and government; at the top of the community, is a sixth grader known as King Bob. In the show, Lawrence lent his voice to Theodore Jasper aka “T.J.”- the lead protagonist who is also the ringleader of his group of friends. Known for his red baseball cap which he always wears backwards, he is often seen pulling various pranks against the school teachers.

In addition to Lawrence, the main voice cast also included Pamela Segall Adlon, Rickey D’Shon Collins, Ashley Johnson, Jason Davis, and Courtland Mead, who played the roles of T.J.’s friends. Consisting of 22-minute episodes, Recess first premiered on the ABC Network on August 31, 1997. Hugely popular among young audiences, it received rave reviews from many television critics, who praised it as high quality entertainment for children. In total, the series ran for four years; by the time it ended, well over a hundred episodes had made it on air. Recess eventually also spawned four movies, all of which saw Lawrence reprising his voice role as T.J.

In terms of film, Lawrence appeared as one of the supporting characters in the Christmas fantasy movie, Jack Frost in 1998. Produced by Mark Canton and Irving Azoff, it starred actor Michael Keaton as Jack Frost- a father who after dying in a car accident, finds himself coming back to life as a snowman. While his son, Charlie Frost was portrayed by Joseph Cross, Lawrence played the role of Tuck Gronic, his best friend who is also the son of their ice hockey coach. The movie’s main cast also included Kelly Preston, Henry Rollins, Mark Addy, Mika Boorem, Joseph Cross, and Eli Marienthal.

Released in theaters on December 11, 1998, the Warner Bros. film drew in approximately $7 million during its opening. By the end of its run on the screens however, it had only managed to gross $34.5 million in North America, making it a commercial flop seeing as how it was produced on a $85 million budget. Critical reception wise, Jack Frost also garnered mostly negative reviews; for instance, contemporary critic Roger Ebert gave the film a one star rating.

Returning back to television, Lawrence starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, The Other Me in 2000. Based on a novel written by Mary C. Ryan, it centered around a seventh grade student who accidentally creates a clone of himself while working on a science project in attempts to make up for his lackluster grades. Playing the lead protagonist, Lawrence portrayed the role of the young teen in question, Will Browning, and his clone, Twoie. The TV film also starred Scott McCord, Joe Grifasi, Alison Pill, Brenden Jefferson, and Tyler Hynes.

Directed by Manny Coto, The Other Me was released via the Disney Channel on September 8, 2000. Filmed in Toronto, Canada, the movie was mostly met with favorable reviews- many of which praised its witty and funny script. One of Lawrence’s most profound TV roles of the early 2000’s, it later went on to earn him two Young Artist Awards in 2001 for “Best Performance in a TV Movie – Supporting Young Actor” and “Best Performance in a TV Movie – Leading Young Actor”, among three nominations.

Throughout the rest of the 2000’s, Lawrence continued to appear in a variety of made-for-television films including School’s In (2001), Jumping Ship (2001), Going to the Mat (2004), and Chasing a Dream (2009). In terms of TV series, he also made several guest appearances in Tucker (2000), King of the Hill (2000), The Zeta Project (2002), and The Guardian (2002), prior to landing a recurring role in Runaway in 2006. In 2009, he was also cast as a supporting character in the comedy drama, United States of Tara.

Ralph Macchio is an American actor who is best known for his role in the Karate Kid film series. A tap dancer since a young age, his performing talents were first discovered by an agent at a local dance recital when he was sixteen years old. Eventually appearing in a number of commercials during his late teen years, he later made his television debut in the 1980 comedy series, Up the Academy at the age of nineteen; soon afterwards, he was cast as a recurring character in the ABC drama, Eight is Enough. Landing various minor parts in multiple TV shows over the next few years, he finally received a break in his career when he was given a starring role in the martial arts film, The Karate Kid in 1984. Critically acclaimed, the movie eventually spawned three singles, all of which had Macchio reprising his role as protagonist Daniel LaRusso.

Over the next few decades, the actor continued to appear in a series of films and television shows. Since he stood in front of the cameras for the first time in the 1980’s, Macchio has appeared in well over forty different projects; some of his stand out roles include that of Bill Gambini in the comedy, My Cousin Vinny (1992), Johnny Cade in the drama film, The Outsiders (1983) and Archie Rodriguez in the ABC series, Ugly Betty (2008). Not too long after his debut, he won a Bravo Otto Award for “Best Actor” in 1986; from there his collection of awards has only grown biggerーin the early 2000’s, he received two Long Island International Film Awards, and an Audience Choice Award at the Stony Brook Film Festival. We also can’t forget about the Young Artist Award that he received a nomination for back in 1982.

While Macchio is an actor first and foremost, he has also worked as an executive producer in a small handful of television series including The Ties That Bind (1994), American Gypsies (2012) and Across Grace Alley (2013). No stranger to being on stage, he has been featured on several TV talk shows over the years such as The Rosie O’Donnell Show (1997), Howard Stern on Demand (2006), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2005), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1994) and The Wendy Williams Show (2011). In 2011, he even broke into the realm of reality television, appearing in the dance competition, Dancing with the Stars (2011) where he competed as a contestant.

So what has the actor been up to as of late? What new endeavours have the star taken on these past few years? What happened to Ralph Macchio? Where is he now in 2018?

Ralph Macchio’s Childhood and Eventual Start in Acting

Born on November 4, 1961, in Huntington, New York, Ralph George Macchio Jr. is the son of Ralph Macchio, Sr., and Rosalie; he is of Italian and Greek descent. Growing up in his parents’ ranch with his younger brother, Macchio was an avid dancer and took up tap lessons at the age of three. A kind and gentle child, he was known to have kept orphaned hummingbirds in his room, which he took care of regularly by feeding them regurgitated nectar until they were old enough to be released back into the wild. As a teen, he was a student at Half Hollow Hills West High School in Dix Hills, where he later graduated from in 1979. Dancing throughout his teenaged years, Macchio took part in a local dance recital when he was sixteen years oldーit was then that he was scouted and approached by an agent who asked him to audition for television commercials.

Despite the invitation however, Macchio was fairly hesitant; he even entertained the idea of sending a friend in his place to the audition. Having said that, he eventually attended the try outs and successfully made his way on screen in a number of commercials in the late 70’s, including ones for Dr. Pepper and Bubble Yum. Slowly getting over his ambivalence surrounding the show business, he later made his on television debut at the age of nineteen in the comedy film, Up the Academy (1980). It wasn’t long until he landed his first major role in the ABC drama series, Eight is Enough, a part that garnered him much recognition and attention as an up-and-coming actor.

Ralph Macchio’s Early Acting Career in the 1980s

First premiered on the ABC Network in the United States in March 1977, Eight is Enough was based on the real life story of Thomas Braden. Set in Sacramento California, the series stars actor Dick Van Patten in the role of Tom Bradford, a newspaper columnist for Sacramento Register who juggles his time between work and taking care of his eight children. Generally positively received, Eight is Enough is noted for having jump started the acting career of many young stars including Willie Aames, Grant Goodeve and of course, Ralph Macchio, who portrayed the part of Jeremyーa character which appeared in its last season. Although the series enjoyed a fairly long four year run, it was eventually cancelled after five seasons due to declining viewership ratings and increased production costs.

After the end of the ABC series, Macchio auditioned for and eventually landed a main part in the drama film, The Outsiders (1983). Adapted from a novel of the same title by author S.e. Hinton, the movie revolved around the heated rivalry between two gangs, the wealthy Socs and the less well-off Greasers. A box office success, the movie grossed over $33 million from a $10 million budget and was met with much positive reception upon its theatrical release in the spring of 1983. In the flick, Macchio portrayed the role of Johnny Cade, one of the eight members of the Greasers; other emerging stars who were cast in the film include Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez and Patrick Swayze. Regarded by some to be one of the best movies of 1983, it received four Young Artist Awards later that year.

Despite his rise in popularity at the time, it wasn’t until he was cast in Karate Kid in 1984 that Macchio first received international attention as an actor. Written by Robert Mark Kamen, the martial arts film centred around a teenager named Daniel DeRusso; a frequent victim of bullying, he eventually takes off to seek the help of a martial arts master named Miyagi who agrees to teach him karate. While Macchio played the starring role of DeRusso, veteran actor Pat Morita portrayed the part of the Japanese karate master, Kesuke Miyagi; other members of the cast include Elisabeth Shue, William Zabka and Chad McQueen. A turning point for Macchio’s acting career, the movie garnered him much praise and widespread attention. A commercial hit upon its release, Karate Kid grossed over $90 million and eventually won two Young Artist Awards; three sequels were later released in the later 80’s as a result of the film’s success.

Following a peak in popularity after his time on Karate Kid, Macchio appeared in a number of smaller films such as Teachers (1984), The Three Wishes of Billy Grier (1984) and Crossroads (1986). In the summer of 1986, the actor reprised his role as Daniel DeRusso in the second instalment of the Karate Kid series, The Karate Kid Part II. Similar to the original 1984 film, the sequel was a major hit, having grossed even more than its predecessors at the box office. Filmed majorly in the Hawaiian island of Oahu, the film won an ASCAP Award as well as an Academy Award for the category of “Best Original Song” in 1987 although it was met with mixed reviews from critics upon its release.

Ralph Macchio’s Continued Acting Career

Praised for its realistic depiction of law courtroom procedures, the film revolves around an inexperienced lawyer who tries to defend, two individuals who find themselves accused of murder, one of whom is his cousin. A greater success than originally anticipated, My Cousin Vinny grossed over $64 million from a $11 budget; it also received many praises and positive reviews and currently holds a score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. In the film, Macchio played the role of Bill Gambini, one of the two students from New York who is arrested in suspicion of murder; the movie also starred actors Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Fred Gwynne and Mitchell Whitfield.

Fast forward to the late 2000’s, Macchio was cast as a recurring character in the drama television series, Ugly Bettyーit was his first considerably major role on the small screen since Eight is Enough back in 1980. Originally broadcasted in September 2006 on the ABC Network, it followed the life and journey of Betty Suarez, a smart and young woman who goes off in seek of her inner beauty. Macchio made his first appearance on the show as Archie Rodriguez, one of the many recurring regulars that were eventually added to the cast in the show’s third season; other actors cast include Grant Bowler, Heather Tom, Mark Consuelos, Lauren Velez and Sarah Lafleur. After a four year run, Ugly Better was eventually canceled in January 2010 after over eighty episodes.

American actor, Angus T. Jones is best remembered for his portrayal of Jake Harper in the long-running sitcom, Two and a Half Men. Hailing from Austin, Texas, he kicked off his career at the tender age of four, appearing in a number of television commercials. When he was six years old, he landed his first acting role in the crime film, Simpatico (1999). Continuing to act in front of the cameras despite his young age, Jones went on to play a series of minor roles in the TV series, Dinner with Friends (2001), and ER (2001). With his hard work, he eventually landed his first lead role in the action movie, See Spot Run later that same year. Some of his other early works include The Rookie (2002), Bringing Down the House (2002) , and Audrey’s Rain (2003). Not long afterwards, his career made a significant breakthrough- he was cast in the new CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men alongside Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Marin Hinkle. Ultimately, it was this show that rocketed him towards superstardom.

Playing as Jake Harper, the young actor quickly established himself as an exceptional member of the cast. Winning the hearts of audiences with his brilliant performance in the show, Jones’ popularity quickly rose over the next few years. Having been on the series for over ten years, it has easily become the most noteworthy credit of his filmography. At just eleven years old, his acting had earned him a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series by a Young Actor Age Ten or Younger. Since then, his collection of accolades from Two and a Half Men have only grown to include a TV Land Award and an additional Young Artist win (among two nominations). While he starred in the sitcom, he also took time out to appear in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2008), Hannah Montana (2010), and Tuna (2013).

After eleven years on the show, Jones announced his departure from the sitcom in the spring of 2014. While he hasn’t taken on any major roles since, he did appear a couple of times in the TV series, Horace and Pete (2016), and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, & Dawn (2017). As far as other television appearances go, the Texas-born actor has also been featured in a number of programmings such as The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (2004), Live! with Kelly and Michael (2004), Big Brother (2005), WWE Monday Night RAW (2015), and CBS Cares (2008), to name a few. As of 2017, Jones- who is only twenty three years old, has appeared in well over a dozen TV shows and films.

What has the former child star been busy with now that he’s left Two and a Half Men? Is he giving himself a short break after being on television for so long? What does he have planned for this year? Has he taken on any new projects or endeavours? What Happened to Angus T. Jones? Where is he now in 2018?

Angus T. Jones’ Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born on October 8, 1993 in Austin, Texas, Angus Turner Jones is the son of Kelly Charles Jones and Carey Lynn Claypool; he has a younger brother named Otto. When he was just four years old, he and his family moved to California, where he eventually got involved in acting, at his mother’s urging. While still in kindergarten, Jones began auditioning for various commercial gigs. According to a recent interview with the former child star, acting was never something that he had dreamt of doing growing up- in fact, he had no idea what he wanted to do (which is understandable for someone of his age at the time) somehow, it had just happened. With a little bit of luck, Jones eventually scored a few of the commercials that he had auditioned; thus, he went on to appear on nationwide television.

As one thing led to the next, Jones eventually found himself playing as a five-year-old child in the 1991 drama film, Simpatico; it marked his first appearance on the big screen. Not long afterwards, the young actor landed his first major role in the comedy movie, See Spot Run (2001). Gradually branching out to appear on television, he appeared as a supporting character in the TV film, Dinner with Friends (2001) later that same year. From there, he made a cameo in the popular medical drama, ER (2001), before appearing in a couple of films- The Rookie in 2002 and Bringing Down the House and George of the Jungle 2 in 2003.

Angus T. Jones in His First Major Role

On March 2, 2001, Jones appeared as one of the main cast members in the comedy film, See Spot Run. Directed by John Whitesell, it revolved around a mailman who unknowingly takes in a FBI-trained dog after mistaking him for a stray. In the film, the actor played the character of James- the young son of his neighbour, who he has volunteered to take care of. Upon meeting the canine, James names him Spot and quickly bonds with the animal, playing with him like a normal dog. Applauded for his performance in the movie, it earned Jones his first accolade- a Young Artist nomination in 2002.

In addition to Jones, See Spot Run also starred Michael Clarke Duncan, David Arquette, Paul Sorvino, and Leslie Bibb, all of whom shared scenes with the young actor. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the motion picture was released in theatres on March 2, 2001. Upon reaching theatre screens, the comedy reached number three at the box office, having pulled in $9.7 million during its opening weekend. Eventually going on to become a commercial success, its total domestic gross by the end of its run was $43 million- well over double that of its $16 million budget.

Angus T. Jones and His Continued Acting Career

The following spring, Jones returned to the big screen in John Lee Hancock’s sports film, The Rookie (2002). Written by Mike Rich, it centred around a baseball coach who achieves his dream of making it to the major league, after his high school team wins the playoffs. One of the supporting characters, the young actor played as Hunter Morris- the son of the movie’s protagonist, Jim Morris (played by Dennis Quaid). Additionally, the cast included Brian Cox, Chad Lindberg, Rick Gonzalez, and Royce D. Applegate, among others.

Released in theatres on March 29, 2002, The Rookie soon became the second commercial hit to make it onto Jones’ filmography. Met with praise, it ended up grossing over $16 million during its opening weekend in the US; by the time it had closed, it had a domestic gross of $75.5 million. For his portrayal, the Texas-based actor was nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2003.

Angus T. Jones’ Big Breakthrough in Two and a Half Men

At the age of ten, Jones received a massive break after being cast in the CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men. Created by Lee Aronsohn and Chuck Lorre, it revolved around the lives of three men- a hedonistic writer named Charlie Harper, his tense brother and his son. Playing the role of Harper’s slacker son, Jake, he acted as the “half man” referred to in the show’s title. Eventually an adult in the later seasons, he enlists in the US Army to work as a chef.

Responsible for propelling him into fame, Two and a Half Men premiered on September 22, 2003. Widely popular in the United States, it consistently drew over 10 million viewers during its twelve-year-long run. Some of Jones’ co-stars on the show included Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, Marin Hinkle, Melanie Lynskey, and Holland Taylor.

Easily his most well remembered role on television, his portrayal of Jake earned him a handful of accolades including a TV Land Award, and two Young Artist Awards (among three nominations). At the peak of his popularity in 2010, Jones became the highest paid child actor, with a guaranteed salary of $7.8 million over the next two years; he was allegedly paid upwards of $300,000 per episode.

Despite the success that Two and a Half Men had garnered him however, he eventually announced in 2014 that he would be departing from the show. At the time, Jones had recently converted to the Christian faith; he later found that the show contradicted his beliefs and values. Not wanting to be a part of it anymore, his character was written out of the series by the end of season ten (in it, he had moved to Japan).

Angus T. Jones’ Other Acting Gigs

While he was mostly busy filming for the sitcom during the 2000’s, Jones also took time to appear in a number of side projects. For instance in 2003, the actor also made a couple of appearances in the TV film, Audrey’s Rain, and George of the Jungle 2 (2003).

In 2005, Jones worked alongside director Karen Arthur in the made for television film, The Christmas Blessing. The second part of a trilogy, it enters around a young doctor who finds himself facing with encounters from the past after returning home for the holidays. Released on CBS on December 18, 2005- right on time for the Christmas season, its reception was mostly positive.

The following year, he lent his voice to the video short, Doary of a Spider (2006). From there, he went on to make a guest appearance in the popular crime series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2008). Finally in 2010, he appeared as a one-off character in the hit teen comedy, Hannah Montana.

Angus T. Jones and Charity Work

Throughout the years, the Texas-born actor has worked with many non-profit organizations for a number of causes. For instance in the summer of 2008, he supported the First Star Organization alongside Val Kilmer, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Dakota Fanning, to help raise funds for neglected and abused children.

That fall, he was also a special guest at the Variety’s Power of Youth Benefit Show alongside Shailene Woodley, Selena Gomez, Miranda Cosgrove, Ray Liotta, and Meaghan Martin.

In addition to the above, the actor was a known advocate of Be a Star.

What’s Angus T. Jones Doing Now In 2026 – Recent Updates

Angus T. Jones hasn’t appeared on television for a while. His last acting role was in the TV mini-series, Horace and Pete, which came out in 2016. What has he been up to since then?

According to an interview, he had planned on creating “bible-based stories”, ones that would let him share the word of God. Unfortunately, it never worked out. At the same time, he attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied environmentalism. Prior to receiving his degree, however, he changed his major to Jewish studies.

In 2016, he also became the president of a multimedia company started by Justin Combs and Kent Orjioke. As far as we can tell, however, that project also failed.

The former child star was spotted last year with a thick beard and bare feet

As of 2026, Jones is 28 years old. While he’s still young enough to make something of his life, he looks nothing like the star that he once was when he played Jake Harper in the sitcom Two and a Half Men. Last year, he was seen in the LA area sporting a busy, scraggly beard and long hair.

Fortunately for him, he still has an incredible amount of money to fall back on from his days in the sitcom. The last that we’d checked, his net worth was around $20 million so he’s probably out there living a comfortable lifestyle. According to various sources, he’s also been spending a lot of time with his younger brother, Otto, which isn’t surprising, given how close they’ve always been.

And for those who are wondering, he is on social media, though his accounts aren’t ‘traditional’ by any means. Take his Instagram, for example, he’s known for posting ‘photos’ that span a number of posts. His last post was that of a cicada and prior to that, he had uploaded images of a red pickup. For those who’d like to see for themselves, you can check out his account at @ang_tj_. As of writing this post, he has over 20.4K followers.

The post What Happened to Angus T.

Taylor Lautner stole the heart of audience members with his portrayal of Jacob Black in the popular The Twilight Saga film series. Born in Michigan, he spent the majority of his youth training in karate. Ultimately it was Michael Chaturantabut, the founder of Xtreme Martial Arts whom he met during a national tournament, that suggested him to take up acting. At the age of nine, Lautner made his debut in the movie Shadow Fury (2001), after having taken participated in several auditions. Eventually relocating to California for greater opportunities, he played a number of small roles in the series Summerland (2004), The Bernie Mac Show (2003), My Wife and Kids (2004), and The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour (2044). From there, he lent his voice to a character in the animated cartoon, What’s New Scooby-Doo? (2005), prior to scoring his first major role in the adventure film, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D (2005), where he starred opposite of Taylor Dooley.

Having said that, it wasn’t until 2008 that Lautner received his career breakthrough with the romantic fantasy film, Twilight. Cast as one of the main protagonists, his portrayal of Jacob Black instantly turned him into a teen idol. The big break that he had been waiting for, it significantly boosted his status as a Hollywood actor. Not long afterward, he was asked to reprise the role in the sequel, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), which only solidified his place in the show business. Since then, he has also gone on to play Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012). Some of the most noteworthy credits in his filmography, the film series has earned him several awards including a Scream Award (e.g. Male Breakthrough Performance), two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award (e.g. Favorite Movie Actor, Cutest Couple), and a People’s Choice Award (e.g. Favorite On-Screen Team), among a few others.

Outside of the Twilight franchise, Lautner has appeared in several other movie titles such as Valentine’s Day (2010), Abduction (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), Tracers (2015), and The Ridiculous 6 (2015). In addition, the actor has also been cast as one of the lead roles in the TV series, My Own Worst Enemy (2008), and Cuckoo (2014). In 2016, he also played the part of Dr. Cassidy Cascade in the comedy horror, Scream Queens. Speaking of television, Lautner has made several appearances in the talk shows Live from Studio Five (2010), The Oprah Winfrey Show (2010), Mark at the Movies (2010), Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (2012), and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2016), to name a few.

What has the former star of The Twilight Saga film series been up to since then? What new movies or TV shows has he appeared in recently? What’s been occupying his schedule these last few years? Will we see him on the big screen again this year? What happened to Taylor Lautner? Where is he now in 2018?

Taylor Lautner’s Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born on February 11, 1992, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Taylor Lautner is the son of Daniel Lautner, an airline pilot and Deborah Lautner, a software developer; the oldest child in the family, he has a younger sister named Makena. Growing up in the town of Hudsonville, he took up Karate when he was six years old. Naturally adept at martial arts, he quickly buzzed through the different levels; by the time he was seven, Lautner had already participated in his first national tournament. Ultimately, it was there that he became acquainted with Michael Chaturantabut, the founder of the brand, Xtreme Martial Arts, who later invited him to attend a camp in Los Angeles. Accepting his offer, the young martial artist flew to LA where he trained with Chaturantabut for what would become several years. By the time he was eight, he had earned his black belt.

As it happened, it was also Chaturantabut who first suggested the idea of acting to Lautner. Based on Stephanie Meyer’s novel of the same name, the movie depicted the relationship between a teenage girl named Bella Swan and a vampire by the name of Edward Cullen. While Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison were cast as Swan and Cullen respectively, Lautner was given the part of her childhood friend, a Native-American teen who is also a member of a tribe called Quileute. His breakthrough role, it garnered the actor much widespread attention at the time.

In preparation for it, the actor allegedly gained 30 pounds worth of muscle. Based on the second novel New Moon, it saw the return of most of the main cast members including Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan respectively.

Released theatrically on November 20, 2009, worldwide, it earned a staggering $26.3 million in the United States during the midnight screening. Although the movie garnered mixed reviews from viewers and critics, it managed to surpass its predecessor’s accomplishments, having grossed $30.1 million during its midnight opening; the film eventually earned over $700 million worldwide. Having already risen to prominence with the previous films, Lautner’s fanbase only expanded with the release of Breaking Dawn- Part 1. Praised for his breathtaking performance, he later won a Scream Award for Best Fantasy Award. By the end of the year, he was hailed as one of Hollywood’s new A-list actors.

From there, he eventually reprised the character for a fourth and final time in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 2, which was released on November 16, 2012.

Born in New York City, American actor Topher Grace is most well known for playing Eric Forman in the sitcom, That ’70s Show. Raised in Connecticut, he started out his acting career while attending boarding school in New Hampshire; during that period, he participated in a number of musical productions including The Pirates of Penzance, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Not only that, but Grace also directed a choose-your-own-adventure film with the help of a few classmates as a teen. Following his high school graduation, he attended the University of Southern California briefly before dropping out to focus his attention on an acting career. As fate would have it, the aspiring actor landed a major breakthrough role almost immediately in the Fox sitcom, That ’70s Show (1998). As it happened, the series’ creators, Terry and Bonnie Turner was sold on his acting after seeing him in one of his high school playsーas their daughter happened to attend the same school.

Despite having only had a year of college and some theatre experience with him, Grace rocked his role as Eric Forman in the sitcom. One of the most popular comedies on television at the time, it propelled the actor into newfound fame. For his portrayal of the character, he also received a handful of accolades including three Teen Choice Award nominations (e.g. Choice TV Actor, TV Breakout Performance) and a Young Artist Award nomination (e.g. Best Performance in a TV Series Young Ensemble). While he was on the show, Grace also guest starred in several other TV series such as Saturday Night Live (2005), and Stella (2005). On top of live action acting, he also lent his voice to characters in What’s New, Scooby Doo? (2002), King of the Hill (2003), Robot Chicken (2005), and The Simpsons (2008). A few years later, he received another break when he was cast in the Daytime Emmy Award-winning TV mini-series, The Beauty Inside (2012).

Aside from his work in television, the actor has also starred in sundry movies over the years. In 2000, he made his motion picture debut in the crime drama film, Traffic (2002), where he played as Seth Abrahams; the role later earned him a Young Hollywood Award for Breakthrough Performance the following year. After a few smaller roles on the big screen, he was cast as the male lead in the romantic comedy, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004), playing alongside Josh Duhamel and Kate Bosworth. For his stellar performance, he received three additional Teen Choice Award nominations. Since then, he has also appeared in Spider-Man 3 (2007), Take My Home Tonight (2011), The Big Wedding (2013), Playing it Cool (2014), and Interstellar (2014), among many others.

What has the New York native been busy with these months? Is he still taking on new roles in the recent years? Will he be starring in any upcoming films? What happened to Topher Grace? Where is he now in 2018?

Topher Grace’s Early Life and Acting Beginnings

Born on July 12, 1978 in New York City, New York, Topher Grace (Birth name: Christopher John Grace) is the son of Pat, a schoolmaster assistant and John Grace, an executive at Madison Avanue; the oldest child in the family, he has a younger sister named Jenny. Growing up in Connecticut, Grace spent much of his youth playing sports; he is especially fond of tennis and soccer.

As a teen, he went to a New Hamsphire boarding schoolーit was there that he first tried his hand at acting. During his time in high school, he participated in a number of musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof, The Pirates of Penzance, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; he even played Pseudolus, the narrator in a production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

At one point, he even directed a choose-your-own-adventure film, with the help of a few classmates. After graduating from high school, he went to the University of Southern California however ultimately dropped out after a year to pursue a full-time acting career. Having always disliked being called Chris, he eventually changed his name to Topherーas it is today. With some luck, Grace landed a major breakthrough role in the Fox sitcom, That ’70s Show (1998) not long afterward. As it happened, the series’ creators Terry and Bonnie Turner, was sold on his acting after seeing him star in a high school play; coincidentally, their daughter had attended the same school. Apart from the experience that he gained through school plays and theatre camps, Grace had close to zero experience prior to being cast on the show.

Topher Grace’s Big Breakthrough on That ’70s Show

Co-created by the husband and wife team, Terry and Bonnie Turner, That ’70s Show depicted the lives of a group of teen friendsーincluding their coming of age and mishaps, in the fictional town of Point Place, Wisconsin. Cast as the show’s main protagonist, Grace portrayed the role of Eric Formanーa sixteen year old who is initially depicted as being a socially awkward teen.

Based loosely on the younger days of Mark Brazill, one of the series’ creators, the character is shown to have an obvious crush on his next door neighbour, Donna Pinciotti; the two eventually begin a relationship later in the series. After being introduced in the pilot episode, Eric appears for a total of 179 episodes prior to departing at the end of the seventh season. During the eighth and final season, he reappears briefly as a guest star.

In addition to Grace, That ’70s Show also starred Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, and Kurtwood Smith, among others. Consisting of 22-minute long episodes, the sitcom debuted on Fox on August 23, 1998. A consistent performer for the network, it proved to be immensely popular among the audience; during its first season, it drew in an average of over eleven million viewers. Although ratings eventually came down in the later years, it still maintained a fairly high viewership. Nominated for a staggering sixteen Primetime Emmy Awards, That ’70s Show also garnered Grace six consecutive Teen Choice Award nominations from 1999 to 2004, in addition to two Young Artist Award nominations. To date, it remains to be his most remembered performance on television.

Highlights from Topher Grace’s Later Acting Career

While he was still on the sitcom, Grace worked with director Robert Luketic in the romantic comedy, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004). His second major role on the big screen (his first being in that of Traffic in 2000), he was joined by Kate Bosworth, Josh Duhamel, Gary Cole, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Sean Hayes in the film.

Produced by Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, it followed a young woman named Rosalee Futch who lands herself a date with a male celebrity after winning a local competition; things are not as simple as they seem however, as a love triangle quickly forms between her, the star, and her best friend. Playing as the male lead, Grace took on the role of Pete Monashーa coworker who secretly harbours feelings for Rosalee.

Distributed by DreamWorks, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton hit the theatres in the United States on January 23, 2004. At the box office, it ranked third, having earned over $7 million during its opening weekend across 2700 screens. Despite its stellar cast, the film ended up being a financial failure as it only managed to gross a worldwide total of $21 million from a production budget of $22 million. In terms of critical reception, it garnered mostly mixed reviews; while some lauded its charming cast, others felt that the plot left something to be desired. Regardless, Grace’s role as the good-hearted Pete earned him three Teen Choice Award nominations, one of which he shared with his co-star, Kate Bosworth.

Three years later, Grace received another big break when he was cast as a supporting character in the popular superhero film, Spider-Man 3 (2007). The final instalment of the Spiderman trilogy, it centred around Peter Parker after a strange, black entity causes him great inner turmoil; to make matters even more complicated, he is faced with new villains in the city. While Tobey Maguire reprised his role as the web-shooting hero, Grace portrayed the role of Eddie Brockーa photographer who is later exposed by the former of creating fake photos of Spiderman. In the latter half of the film, he bonds with symbiotic, which causes him to turn into a monstrous being with spider-like powers. Other cast members include Kirsten Dunst, Thomas Haden Church, James Franco, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Rosemary Harris.

Filmed in the city of Los Angeles, Spider-Man 3 opened in theatres on May 4, 2007, after an initial premiere in Tokyo that April. Proving itself to be a huge blockbuster, it grossed over $104 million on the first day, and later went on to take in $381.7 by the end of its opening weekend. By the time it came off theatres, it had reaped in over $890 million worldwide, making it the third highest-earning movie of the year. For his convincing portrayal of the film’s antagonist, Grace was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for “Best Villain” in 2008.

Three years later, the actor was selected to star in the science fiction film, Predators (2010) alongside Alice Braga, Adrien Brody, and Walton Goggins. The third series of the Predator franchise, it revolved around a group of individuals, all of whom have been abducted and placed on an unknown planet where they are reserves for various tribes of extraterrestrial killers. One of the principal cast members, Grace played as Edwinーa doctor who is later revealed to be a psychopathic murderer later in the film. Produced on a budget of $40 million, Predators debuted in theatre screens on July 9, 2010. A major blockbuster, it grossed $10 million on the first day, and later pulled in a total of $24.7 million after its first weekend, putting it in third place at the US box office. Despite being a major commercial success, reactions to the film were generally mixed; for example, it currently holds a score of 51% on Metacritics from movie critics.

Hailing from Texas, American actor Chace Crawford is best known for playing Nate Archibald in the teen drama, Gossip Girl. The son of a dermatologist, he started out his career as a model for Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch as a teen. After graduating, he went to Pepperdine University to study marketing and broadcast journalism for a couple of years prior to dropping out for acting. At the age of twenty one, he had a small screen debut in the television film, Long Lost Son (2006), playing alongside Craig Sheffer and Grabrielle Anwar. Later in the year, the aspiring actor appeared in the horror action movie, The Covenant (2006), in which he was cast as a supporting character. Not too long afterward, the Texas-native received a huge breakthrough when he was cast as one of the lead protagonists in The CW teen drama, Gossip Girl (2007). A regular on the series, Crawford remained on the show for a total of six years, from its start till finish.

Hugely popular amongst teen audiences, Gossip Girl effectively catapulted the actor from the unknowns to superstardom. Capturing the hearts of millions of viewers, Crawford quickly garnered himself a devoted fan base. To date, his portrayal of Nate Archibald is probably one of his best remembered performances on television. Not only did the series lead him to fame, but it also earned him several awards including four consecutive Teen Choice Awards for “Choice TV Actor in a Drama” from 2008 until 2011. Following the end of Gossip Girl, he guest starred in an episode of the hit musical series Glee (2014) before landing another main role in the primetime soap opera, Blood & Oil (2015). Although not as successful as his previous work, the ABC series did lead him to a People’s Choice Award nomination for “Favourite Actor in a New TV Series” in 2016.

Outside of the realm of television, Crawford has also starred in several movies over the years. Two years after making his debut on the big screen, he co-starred in the crime thriller, Loaded (2008) alongside Jesse Metcalfe, Monica Keena, Corey Large, and Nathalie Kelley. He returned to film in the film, Twelve (2010), playing the role of a once-wealthy teen who struggles to make a living as a pot dealer. Some of the other feature films that he’s starred in include Peace, Love & Misunderstanding (2011), Cry of Fear (2015), Rules Don’t Apply (2016), and Undrafted (2016).

What has the 31-year-old award-winning actor been up to since then? Has he landed any new roles on film or television? What can we expect from him in the upcoming year? What happened to Chace Crawford? Where is he now in 2018?

Chace Crawford’s Younger Years & Acting Beginnings

Born on July 18, 1985 in the Texas city of Lubbock, Chace Crawford (Birth Name: Christopher Chace Crawford) is the son of Dana, a school teacher and Chris, a dermatologist; the oldest out of two children, his younger sister is named Candice. During the early days of his childhood, he lived in Minnesota as his father went to medical school in the city. A student at the local Ridgeview Primary School, the family later returned to Texas, where they settled in a Dallas suburb, following the completion of his father’s medical training. As a teen, Crawford was both a talented artist and athlete; not only did he play golf in his spare time, but he was also an all-star football player. While attending high school, he also modelled for the clothing companies, Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Following his high school graduation in 2003, Crawford found himself struggling to identify a career path. Later deciding on marketing and journalism, he moved to Malibu, California to enrol at Pepperdine University, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. A couple of years into his studies however, he decided to drop out in lieu of pursuing an acting career, with encouragement from his mother (He later called it a “practical move” citing that he had always gravitated toward the performing arts). From there, he soon landed an interview with a talent agent who ultimately signed him on the spot. Committing himself to an acting career, he eventually landed his first professional role at the age of twenty two in the made-for-televsion film, Long Lost Son (2006) where he played alongside Gabrielle Anwar and Craig Sheffer.

Chace Crawford’s Initial Acting Career and Eventual Breakthrough

tDireced by Brian Trenchard-Smith, the TV filmーwhich served as Crawford’s small screen debutーcentred around a mother, who after accepting the death of her beloved son, discovers that he’s alive and well, albeit having lived with his captor all along. Created on a relatively generous budget of $1.3 million, Long Lost Son starred none other than the actor as the kidnapped son in question, Matthew Williams. The rest of the main cast consisted of Gabrielle Anwar, Craig Sheffer, Philip Granger, Richard Blade, and Dennis Garber. Debuted on Lifetime on July 24, 2006, it garnered the new actor many praises for his performance.

Later that same year, the actor made his motion picture debut in the supernatural horror thriller, The Covenant (2006). Written by J.S. Cardone, the film revolved around a group of young men, all belonging to a New England supernatural legacy, who are forced to go up against a sinister fifth power that everyone had believed to have already died out. Playing a protagonist, the actor took on the role of Tyler Simmsーa descendent of a colonial witch family whose magical powers vastly increase on his eighteenth birthday. With his three friendsーReid, Pogue, and Caleb (played by Toby Hemingway, Taylor Kitsch and Steven Strait respectively), he sets off to investigate and destroy a “fifth power” that has been taking a toll on their town of Ipswich. In addition to the previously mentioned cast members, the movie also featured Laura Ramsey, Jessica Lucas, Sarah Smyth, and Kyle Schmid.

Distributed by Screen Gems, The Covenant was released theatrically on September 8, 2006. A popular hit in theatres, it topped the box office, having sold over $8.9 million in ticket sales within the first weekend. By the time it came off the screens, it had grossed a worldwide total of approximately $37.6 millionーalmost double that of its production budget of $20 million. Despite the success that it achieved as a blockbuster however, the film received countess negative reviews from critics, who panned it for its laughable dialogue” and “terrible acting”. Given a terribly underwhelming rating of 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, it also holds a score of 19/100 on Metacritic. Having said that, The Covenant did manage to go on to develop a cult following.

The following year, he received the breakthrough of his career when he was cast as Nate Archibald, a main protagonist in the teen drama, Gossip Girl (2007). Developed by Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, it depicted the lives of a group of upper-class adolescents in the Upper East Side of New York. The show’s primary male character, Nate is depicted as being the area’s perfect “Golden Boy”. First introduced in the pilot episode, he appears in all of the show’s 121 episodes. Aside from Crawford, the all-star cast of Gossip Girl also consisted of Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen, and Ed Westwick.

Originally aired on The CW on September 19, 2007, Gossip Girl drew in an average of three million viewers during its first season. Although the series saw a decline in viewers in the subsequent years, it won over twenty awards during its six-year run including eighteen Teen Choice Awardsーfour of which went to Crawford for “Choice TV Actor in a Drama” (among six nominations). To date, his role of Nate Archibald remains to be one of his most critically acclaimed portrayals as an actor.

In the fall of 2008, Crawford landed a starring role in the horror flick, The Haunting of Molly Hartley. Produced by Jerry P. Jacobs and Jennifer Hilton, it centred around a young teen named Molly Hartley, who unbeknownst to her new friends, has a troubled past that she’d like to keep buried. While actress Haley Bennett played the title character, Crawford portrayed the part of Joseph Youngーone of her classmates who comes to her aid after she finds herself experiencing recurring nightmares. Aside from the two, The Haunting of Molly Hartley also featured Jake Weber, Shannon Woodward, AnnaLynne McCord, Marin Hinkle and Shanna Collins.

Created on a production budget of $5 million, the horror film came out in the United States on October 31, 2008ーon Halloween Day. After amassing $5.4 million during its opening weekend, it went on to gross an additional $13.5 million domestically and $1.8 million internationally for a worldwide gross of $15.4 million.

After a few relatively unsuccessful film endeavours, Crawford returned in a romantic comedy directed by Kirk Jones. Based on a book by Heidi Murkoff, it followed the lives of five couples as they experience the ups and downs of parenthood. In the movie, the Texas-native played the role of Marco, a young food truck owner who reunites with an old high school friend after unknowingly getting involved in a fight with her food truck. Other cast members include Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick.

Released on May 18, 2012, the movie entered the US Box Office at number five, grossing over $10.5 million over its opening weekend. By the end of its run, it had amassed a worldwide gross of $84.4 millionーrendering it commercial success. In spite of its popularity in the theatres however, reactions to the comedy were generally mixed; while the cast’s acting received much praise, other elements such as its storyline were greatly criticized by critics. For his role as Marco, Crawford was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for “Choice Movie: Male Scene Stealer” in 2012.

Since then, the actor has gone on to appear in a number of films including Mountain Men (2014), Cry of Fear (2015), Rules Don’t Apply (2016), and Undrafted (2016).

And more recently, he lent his voice to Justin, one of the supporting characters in the Japanese animated sci-fi film Belle. He also reprised his role as Kevin in the animated short story The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

American actor Skeet Ulrich starred in many successful 90’s films including Scream (1996), and As Good As it Gets (1997). A former student at NYU, he studied acting as an apprentice at an off-Broadway theatre company in New York. Performing with the groupーthe Atlantic Theater Companyーhis talents were eventually noticed by director, Stacy Cochran. Recognizing his potential, she soon cast him in her romance drama, CBS School Break Special (1994), which also served as Ulrich’s television debut.

Even prior to this however, he had appeared in a couple of uncredited roles in Weekend at Bernie’s (1989), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990). Some of his other early works include The Craft (1995), Last Dance (1996), and Albino Alligator (1996). From there, he landed his first notable part in the mystery drama, Boys in 1996, playing the on-screen boyfriend of Winona Ryder. Following that, he co-starred in the slasher film, Scream (1996)ーa role which later earned him a Saturn Award nomination in 1997. From there, he appeared in As Good as It Gets (1997), The Newton Boys (1998), Chill Factor (1999), and Ride with the Devil (1999).

With the arrival of the new millennium, Ulrich found himself starring alongside Russell Wong and Tom Berenger in the film, Track Down (2000). Carrying on with his burgeoning career, he went on to appear in a handful of movies including Soul Assassin (2001), Nobody’s Baby (2001), and Kevin of the North (2001). Afterwards, the actor took a prolonged break from the big screenーeight years to be exactーbefore making his return in the horror flick, For Sale by Owners (2009), where he was joined by Tom Skerritt, Kris Kristofferson and Frankie Faison. That same year, Ulrich also appeared in Nimrod Antal’s thriller, Armored (2009). In the more recent years, he has made appearances in 50 to 1 (2014), The Girl on the Roof (2014), and Lost in Austin (2015). Throughout his career, the actor has received two industry awardsーa Western Heritage Award and a Character and Morality in Entertainment Award, both of which he shared with his cast mates.

Aside from film, Ulrich has also starred in several television series over the yearsーhe is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jake Green the action drama, Jericho (2006). Other projects that he’s taken on include CSI: NY (2009), Gimme Shelter (2010), Law & Order: LA (2011), and Anatomy of Violence (2013). In addition to his live-action work, he has also voiced various characters in the stop motion sketch comedy, Robot Chicken (2007). A well recognized artist, Ulrich has guest appeared in many talk shows such as The Rosie O’Donnell Show (2000), The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (2006), Live! with Kelly (2008), and Rachael Ray (2008), to name a few.

So what has the actor of over two decades been up to recently? What new projects have he taken on? What happened to Skeet Ulrich? Where is he now in 2018?

Skeet Ulrich’s Childhood and Early Life

Born on January 20, 1970, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Skeet Ulrich (Real name: Bryan Ray Trout)’s parents divorced when he was just three years old. Growing up, he was raised majorly by his mother Carolyn Wax Rudd, the owner of a marketing agency called the Sports Management Group, and his step-father D.K. Ulrichーa NASCAR driver.

Although he took on his last name, his mother has since remarried to a man named Edward Lewis. As a young boy, Ulrich was quite frail and often ill; not only did he face many bouts of pneumonia but he also underwent open-heart surgery for a ventricular septal defect at the tender age of ten. Noted for his small stature, Ulrich was referred to as “Skeetcher” by his Little League coach, a moniker which he eventually adapted into his professional stage name.

Following his graduation from Northwest Cabarrus High School in the late 1980’s, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina, where he studied Marine Biology; prior to completing the program however, he transferred to New York University. Around that time, Ulrich began studying acting at an off-Broadway theatre known as the Atlantic Theater Company. One day while honing his craft in class, he captured the attention of director, Stacy Cochran, who happened to be present. Recognizing his on-screen potential, she soon offered him a small role in her series, CBS Schoolbreak Special (1994). Although it wasn’t Ulrich’s first time appearing on televisionーas he had appeared in two uncredited roles a few years backーit served as his official small screen debut. From there, the aspiring actor eventually appeared in The Craft (1995), and Last Dance (1996). With Cochran’s help, he later landed his first notable role in the movie, Boys (1996) where he played alongside award-winning actress, Winona Ryder. That same year, he also received his first starring role in the popular slasher film, Scream (1996).

Skeet Ulrich’s Early Acting Career

In the winter of 1996, Ulrich landed his first major role in Kevin Williamson’s Scream. Based loosely on the Gainesville Ripper, it centred around a student who finds herself becoming the target of a mysterious killer known only as “Ghostface”. While the part of said teenager went to Casey Becker, the actor played the part of another main lead by the name of Billy Loomisーan avid horror movie fan who eventually becomes a suspect of the gruesome killings; while the suspicions around him eventually dispel, he soon falls victim to Ghostface himself.

Screened nation-wide in theatres on December 20, 1996 after an initial premiere in Los Angeles, the slasher proved to be a critical success; over 1400 theatres, it took in more than $6.3 million in its opening weekend, ranking second only behind Beavis and Butt-head Do America (1996). Met with critical acclaim, Scream garnered numerous positive reviews from critics including those from The Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Chicago Sun-Times. A massive blockbuster, it later went on to gross over $173 millionーa huge amount compared to its production budget of $14 million. The winner of an MTV Movie Award and a Saturn Award for the category of “Best Horror Movie”, Scream also garnered Ulrich a Saturn Award nomination for “Best Supporting Actor” in 1996.

The following year, Ulrich returned to the big screen in James L. Brook’s romantic comedy, As Good as it Gets (1997). Based on a story by Mark Andrus, it centred around a relationship between three distinctly different individualsーa gay artist, a single mother, and a misanthropic novelist, all whose lives happen to cross paths with one another in the film. While Ulrich didn’t play either one of the three main leads (they were played by Greg Kinnear, Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson respectively), he still received a fair amount on-screen time as Vincent Lopianoーa secondary character which appears later in the movie.

Joining him in the supporting role were Cuba Gooding, Jr., Julie Benz, Shirley Knight and Jesse James. Another winter release, As Good as it Gets was theatrically released on December 23, 1997. Quickly becoming a box office hit, it grossed over $12.6 million in its opening weekend, ranking only behind Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and Titanic (1997). Given favourable reviews by many professional critics, it received dozens of awards, including an Oscar for the “Best Picture-Music or Comedy” category; it has since been included in Empire Magazine’s list of “500 Greatest Movies of All Time.” Although the comedy flick didn’t earn Ulrich any particular awards per se, it ended up being one of the biggest box office hits of his early career.

Highlights from Skeet Ulrich’s Continued Acting Career

Branching out to television, Ulrich appeared as a main lead in the ABC drama, Miracles in 2003. The brainchild of Michael Petroni and Richard Hatem, the series have been regarded by the creators themselves as a “spiritual version of The X-Files.” Originally premiered on January 27, 2003, the show starred the actor as Paul Callanーan investigator of modern miracles who begins questioning his faith after finding unremarkable explanations for a variety of supposed phenomena; after he himself is later saved by a supernatural miracle, he is frustrated to know that his claims are dismissed without a second thought by others due to a lack of evidence.

Featuring a varied cast, Miracles also starred Angus Macgadyen, Marisa Ramirez, Hector Elizondo and Jacob Smith. Upon its release, the series was fairly well-received; during its first season, it attracted an average of 8.7 million viewers. Despite its rapidly-growing fan base and the fact that the show was later nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, Miracles was cancelled by the network after only six episodes due to low ratings. Nonetheless, it successfully established a following for Ulrich, who played Paul Callan in the series.

Starring in yet another television series, Ulrich portrayed the principal character in the CBS post-apocalyptic drama, Jericho (2006). Set in a fictional Kansas town called Jerichoーas its name impliesーthe show followed its citizens in the aftermath of a nuclear attack. Released on September 20, 2006, it featured Ulrich as Jake Greenーa 32-year-old man who heads back into town after a five year absence to claim his inheritance; as he sets off to return home however, he finds himself in the middle of the calamity. Boasting a large ensemble cast, Jericho also included appearances from Lennie James, Ashley Scott, Kenneth Mitchell, Michael Gaston and Gerald McRaney.

Filmed in the neighbourhood of Van Nuys, California, it attracted over nine million viewers during its first season; the figure eventually dropped to six million in the subsequent episodes. A fan-favourite, Jericho garnered many loyal audience members, many of whom praised the show for being a splendid mixture of mystery, science fiction and drama. Nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2008, it ultimately continued for two years prior to being cancelled in March 2008 after 29 episodes. Along with Miracles, Jerichoーas many fans would agreeー snags the title of being one of Ulrich’s most remembered portrayals on television.

Since then, the actor has guest starred in several TV shows including CSI: NY (2009), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2010), and Unforgettable (2015). In 2010, he also reprised his character of Detective Rex Winters in Law & Order: LA, in which he appeared in fourteen episodes. In terms of film, he has been involved with three projects over the past couple of yearsー50 to 1 (2014), and Lost in Austin (2015).

What’s Skeet Ulrich Doing Now In 2026 – Recent Updates

Ulrich starred in the supernatural crime drama Riverdale from 2017 to 2022. He originally joined the cast as a recurring character in season one and was later promoted to a series regular in season two. In the show, he plays the role of Forsythe Pendleton Jones II aka “F.P.”, Jughead’s dad who looks exactly like Jughead, except he’s balding and older. In total, he appeared in 64 episodes.

In 2020, he also starred as Sergeant Mike Trout in the series FreeRayshawn, which centers around an African-American Iraqi War veteran who finds himself holed up in his home after an altercation with NOPD police.

Later this year, he will also be appearing in the crime drama Parish, which is based on the BBC One series The Driver. In it, he will play the role of Colin. He will be joined by fellow actors Giancarlo Esposito, Paula Malcomson, Arica Himmel, Bonnie Mbuli, and Dax Rey.

Aside from television, he has also appeared in several films over the past years. In 2022, he appeared in the slasher film Scream- the fifth installment of the Scream film series- as Billy Loomis, the hallucination of the original Ghostface. In January 2023, he also starred in the horror film Blood, which centers around Jess, a recovering addict, and nurse. While Michelle Monaghan played the part of Jess, Ulrich played the role of Patrick, her ex-husband.

According to IMDb, he will also be starring in the upcoming epic disaster action film Superfell, alongside Anne Heche and Alec Baldwin. The project is currently in the post-production stage; no release date has been announced as of yet.

Outside of acting, he has also been invited to a number of podcast series including Bronzville, That One Audition, and The Man Cave Chronicles. In 2018, he was also a guest on the popular talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan.

American actor Derek Luke first made himself known in the biographical drama film, Antwone Fisher (2002). As a young boy, he learnt how to act at a young age; he later studied at a Jersey City performing arts school in his teens. Deciding to pursue a career in acting, he enrolled at Jersey State College promptly after his high school graduation. A few years later, he made a big move to Los Angeles- the country’s entertainment capital with high hopes of one day making it big as a star. Despite his determination, breaking into the show business proved to be difficult. In 1999, he finally landed his first official acting role in the comedy series, The King of Queens where he played the role of a delivery man. The following year, he made an appearance in the teen drama Moesha (2001), prior to receiving a big break with the film, Antwone Fisher (2002), which also served as his motion picture debut.

A moderate box office hit, the movie garnered him a considerable amount of attention as a new actor. For his portrayal of the title character, Luke also received his first industry award, an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead in 2003. Having served as a launchpad for his career, it remains to be his most well remembered role on the big screen to date. Brought to a new level of fame, he later co-starred in the action drama film, Biker Boyz (2003) alongside Orlando Jones and Laurence Fishburne. From there, the New Jersey-born actor went on to appear in Spartan (2004), Friday Night Lights (2004), Glory Road (2006), Lions for Lambs (2007), and Miracle at St. Anna (2008)– the last of which earned him a Black Reel Award nomination and an Image Award nomination. Since then, he has appeared in well over half a dozen films including Madea Goes to Jail (2009), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012), and Baggage Claim (2013).

Like many actors, he has also established himself on television. In 2009, Luke was cast as the lead protagonist in the NBC series, Trauma. Following that, he also starred in the medical drama, Hawthorne (2011). Additionally, he has appeared as a recurring character in the shows The Americans (2013), and Empire (2015). Speaking of television, Luke has been featured as a guest on several talk shows such as The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (2006), Tavis Smiley (2006), Entertainment Tonight (2008), Lopez Tonight (2009), The Late Show with James Corden (2015), and The View (2015). Altogether, his filmography boasts thirty different acting credits.

After his parents divorced when he was in third grade, he and his brothers were raised single handedly by their mother. As a single mother with three children however, the family often struggled financially. Despite this, Luke had several role models in his life including his uncles whom he were very close to. Frequently moving around as his mother tried to make a living from her musician’s salary, Luke attended half a dozen schools prior to settling at a performing arts school called Hendry Snyder in Jersey City; he eventually graduated in 1992.

Deciding that actor was what he wanted to pursue, he subsequently attended Jersey State College where he studied drama and acting. After a few years of honing his skills, he packed his bags and moved to the country’s entertainment capital, Los Angeles, more determined than ever to one day make it big in Hollywood. In spite of his determination, breaking into the show business proved to be difficult. In order to make ends meet initially, Luke picked up several odd jobs including working as a gift shop employee.

In 1999, the then twenty something year old landed his first television role in the comedy series, The King of Queens. Although he only ended up appearing in two episodes, it marked his grand debut on the small screen. Two years later, he played a small role in the popular teen drama, Moesha (2001).

Inspired by a true story, it starred the actor as the movie’s title character, Antwone Fisher- a quick tempered young man who is serving as a servicemen in the US Navy. Left at an orphanage after his birth, he spent the majority of his life in a foster home run by a cruel, physically abusive couple. Wanting to get out of life on the streets, he ultimately decides to join the Navy. Not only was it his first major acting role, but the film also served as his motion picture debut.

Despite his relatively thin resume at the time of the filming, his portrayal of the troubled young man earned him high praise from both critics and viewers. Released on December 19, 2002, Antwone Fisher took in $210,000 during its limited theatrical release; it later went on to gross over $21 million domestically, successfully recouping its production costs of $12.5 million. Responsible for kicking off his acting career in the early 2000’s, it eventually also earned him a BET Award, two Black Reel Awards and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Actor.

To date, the 2002 biographical film remains to be one of the biggest highlights of his career.

Directed by Philip Noyce, it revolved around a police officer and a young man in Apartheid South Africa. Inspired by true events, he played the part of Patrick Chamusso, a member of the African National Congress party. Joining him were Tim Robbins, Marius Weyers, Bonnie Henna, and Tumisho Masha, among others.

Although the film ended up being a commercial bomb, having only grossed $5.7 million from a $14 million budget, reviews from critics were primarily positive. As well, Luke’s portrayal of Chamusso also earned him a Black Reel Award nomination and a Satellite Award nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.

In 2008, he worked with director Spike Lee in the epic war film, Miracle at St. Anna. Set in Europe during world war II, it depicted the story of a group of soldiers who seek refuge in a small village, where they eventually bond with the residents. Other actors include Pierfrancesco Favino, Omar Benson Miller, Michael Ealy, and Laz Alonso.

Distributed by Walt Disney Studios, Miracle at St. Anna was released on September 26, 2008. Despite its well intentions however, the movie received mostly negative reviews upon its release. Still, some critics such as Eric D. Snider lauded the film for its remarkable writing. Another standout piece of work from Luke, it later garnered him yet another Black Reel Award nomination and an Image Award nomination.

The following year, Luke landed his first major role on television in the NBC series, Trauma (2009). Produced by Steven Sassen, it centered around the lives of a group of paramedics working in San Francisco. Playing alongside Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, and Taylor Kinney, he starred as Cameron Boone- a paramedic paired up with Tyler Briggs (played by Rankin); while the two often bicker over trivial things, they have a relatively good relationship at work.

Originally premiered on September 28, 2009, Trauma received primarily positive reviews from viewers. Although NBC initially announced that the series would consist only of thirteen episodes, it was later extended eighteen episodes. Despite its popularity among audiences however, the show was eventually cancelled after the first season.

That same year, Luke was also a member of the main cast in the comedy drama film, Madea Goes to Jail (2009). Based on a play from 2006, it followed the title character as she goes behind bars for her uncontrollable anger issues. While Tyler Perry portrayed the role of Madea, Luke played as Joshua Hardaway- an assistant district attorney. Beside the two actors, the movie also featured RonReaco Lee, Ion Overman, and Keshia Knight Pulliam.

Released on February 20, 2009, Madea Goes to Jail ended up being a huge success, having grossed more than $41 million during its opening weekend, which put it at number one at the North America box office. By the end of its theatrical run, it had taken a total of $90.5 million in the domestic market. Another role worthy of praise, it garnered Luke his third Black Reel Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Back on television, Luke joined the main cast of the TNT medical drama, Hawthorne in June of 2009. Created by John Masius, it revolved around the events that happened in a fictional hospital called Richmond Trinity Hospital. Playing as one of the many physicians, Luke portrayed the role of Dr. Miles Bourdet- one of series regulars in season three; first introduced in episode one, he ended up appearing in a total of eight episodes.

Since then, the actor has gone on to appear in various films including Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012), Baggage Claim (2013), Alex of Venice (2014), and Sight Unseen (2015).

On television, he has also made a few guest appearances in CSI: Crime Scene Investivation (2011), The Americans (2013), Empire (2015), and Roots (2016).
