Destiny is an online multiplayer first-person shooter game that was originally released in 2014. There are currently two titles in the game series: Destiny and Destiny 2, the latter of which was released in 2017. While the former no longer receives updates, players can still access some in-game activities.

Are you looking for a similar game? Wondering what you should play? Then keep reading because we’ll be going over some suggestions below!

Top 10 Games That Are Like Destiny In 2026

Without further delay, here are some games to try if you like Destiny. Some are free-to-play while others require a purchase.

10. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic might not be a first-person shooter but it has many elements that are similar to Destiny. Not only is it action-packed with old-school combat, but it’s also highly entertaining with an exciting plot.

Developed by Bioware, it takes place in the Old Republic (the same setting as the Star Wars pre-sequels) where you play as one of eight characters- including a Jedi, Sith, or Bounty Hunter. Like most Bioware games, there will be choices that you’ll have to make, all of which will impact the story.

There’s also an Alignment system that tracks speech and actions- one that determines whether you’re on the light or dark side of the Force. Not only that but there are also a variety of lightsabers to select from, including the ubiquitous colors green and blue as well as yellow and orange. On top of that, it features full voiceovers and numerous cinematic cuts.

Free-to-play, the game is available for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3, in addition to Microsoft Windows and OSX systems. Keep in mind, however, that the expansions are not included with the original title.

9. Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is an action role-playing game that features swords instead of guns. Similar to the other games in the series, you’ll take the role of a hunter, trapping or slaying monsters- which range from mythical beasts to dragons- in a variety of landscapes to protect and support the villages. Currently, it’s the second best-selling game in the series with more than 11 million copies sold worldwide.

And as you progress through the game, the battles will get more challenging. Fortunately, there are different weapons and gear that you can use to boost your stats. There’s also an animal companion called a Palamute, which you can ride into battles or across maps. Wirebugs can also be used to ride and mount certain monsters.

Another great thing about Monster Hunter is that it’s an open world, meaning that you can explore the different maps freely, as opposed to following a linear and structured plot.

While the game was originally released for the Switch, it has since been ported to the PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. In June 2022, an expansion pack, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, was also released.

8. Outriders

Outriders is a cooperative action role-playing game that shares many similarities with Destiny. Praised for its visuals, gameplay, and customization, it attracted more than 3.5 million players within one month of its initial launch.

Not only is it a shooter RPG, but there are four classes to choose from, each of which has its own elemental abilities. The game itself is also set in a sci-fi world where aliens are commonplace. And there are a variety of weapons, traversal abilities, and advanced skills to choose from in terms of combat.

The loot system is also similar to Destiny and other action-RPG games in that you’ll acquire new and improved gear as you face stronger enemies. There are also two modes to choose from solo or co-op so you can decide how you want to play the game. Regardless, there will be tons of quests, as well as dungeons for you to complete and explore.

Released in April 2021, the game is currently available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows (it was also available on Stadia before the platform was discontinued).

7. Dying Light 2: Stay Human

Dying Light 2 is an action roleplaying game developed by Techland. More specifically, it’s an open-world first-person shooter RPG that combines elements of looting, crafting, and survival. Unlike Destiny, however, it features a zombie apocalypse and stars a protagonist with parkour skills. This allows you to perform various actions such as sliding, climbing ledges, wall running, and leaping off from edges, to navigate the map. Aiden can also use the undead zombies to break his fall.

Set in the city of Valledor, the game is a massive open world and is broken into a number of distinct regions, each of which has its own locations and landmarks. Not only can players scavenge for scrap and resources to craft new weapons and items, but they can also activate windmills to attract merchants and survivors.

As you progress through the game, you’ll also meet different factions and have to make decisions that’ll change the state of the game.

Released on February 4, 2022, the game is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows. A Nintendo Switch version has also been announced and is in the works.

6. The Division

The Division is an action role-playing game that takes place in future New York City following a viral pandemic. You play as a Special Agent of the Strategic Homeland Division and are tasked with combating criminal activity, investigating the nature of the outbreak, and helping individuals rebuild their operations.

Not only is it an open-world game but players can also carry and use weapons such as seeker mines and sticky bombs to fight against enemies. As you progress, you’ll gain currency and experience points, the former of which you can use to buy gear and weapons. You can also use the points to learn new abilities and skills. The game also features a day-night cycle, which alters the behavior of certain enemies in the game.

There are two game types to choose from solo or co-op (up to three players). In addition to that, there are several modes including campaign (main), co-op, PvP, PvPvE, Resistance, Skirmish (a multiplayer mode where groups of four aim for the highest kill count), and raids. Various expansions have also been added since the game was first released. For example, a new area called West Side Pier was released in December 2017.

5. Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 is an action role-playing first-person shooter game. The sequel to Borderlands 2, it allows players to play alone or in teams of up to four people. In total, there are four classes available and you can also take on quests and missions to gain monetary rewards, items, and experience.

As you level up, you’ll also gain skill points, which you can use to unlock abilities on the skill tree. Loot from special chests or fallen foes can also give you special weapons, some of which may come with elemental effects such as ice, fire, or electricity. Aside from using weapons and skills, there are also combat maneuvers that you can use such as wall-climbing to get over short heights.

Generally speaking, you can expect to spend around 35 hours on the main quest line. There’s also a Guardian Rank system, which provides your characters with special buffs. Post-game challenges are also available for those who’ve completed the main storyline, which involves stopping the enemies from harnessing the power of the alien vaults.

Released in October 2019, the game is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, and macOS systems.

4. Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is a cooperative first-person shooter game that features dwarves and aliens. Developed by Ghost Ship Games, the game takes place on an alien planet, where caves are abundant in minerals but filled with hostile wildlife. The player takes on the role of a dwarf miner who must enter the caves to extract resources, all while fighting alien swarms. Not only are there different gadgets to choose from, but there are also high-tech weapons that you can use in battle. There are also four playable classes to choose from: Gunner, Engineer, Driller, and Scout, each of which has its own unique tools and weapons.

And if you want, you can play with your friends (up to four players). Ultimately, the goal is to move through the caves and get as many resources as possible. Like many games, the map is procedurally generated and all of the areas are brooming with adversaries, bosses, and of course- loot.

The game also features a progression system where you can purchase equipment upgrades, new weapons, as well as cosmetics for your character. There are also challenges that you can complete for extra perks such as increased speed.

Currently, the game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Microsoft systems. It’s also part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

3. Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale shooting game. While it’s a little different from Destiny, it features a similar battle system that involves using different skills, weapons, and equipment. You can also choose from different types of characters, all of which feature different skills and capabilities.

Set in the same sci-fi universe as Titanfall, the game features 20 teams of three-player squads, who then go up against each other on the map. Players can scavenge for armor, weapons, and other equipment while keeping an eye out for enemies. There’s also a unique ping system, which allows you to communicate certain directions, enemies, and weapon locations to your squad. As the game progresses, the safe zone will gradually reduce in size, upping the difficulty.

Since the game was originally released in 2019, several expansions aka “seasons” have been released, each of which brings a new playable character as well as weapons and cosmetic items. For example, Season 9, which came out in 2021, introduced a new permanent mode called “Arena” where players can form teams and fight against other squads in a team deathmatch, where the team who wins at least 3 points is the winner.

2. Halo 3

Halo is a first-person shooter game that takes place in the twenty-sixth century; it centers around an interstellar war between humans and an alien parasite known as the Flood and a collection of alien races called the Covenant.

In the game, the player plays the role of an enhanced supersoldier known as the Master Chief, who fights against both factions. Weapons, melee attacks, and grenades can be utilized in addition to items that come with special effects.

There are two main game modes including campaign/story, which can be played solo or together with friends (up to three players). Up to sixteen players can also play together in multiplayer matches via Xbox Live.

Halo 3 is also unique in that it comes with a map-editing tool that allows you to customize the game by inserting and removing objects such as weapons, vehicles, and crates.

While the game itself is a bit old, having been released in 2007, it’s far from being dated. Not only was the title re-released as part of Xbox One’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2014, but it was also recently re-released for Windows in 2020.

1. Warframe

Warframe is an action role-playing shooter game that’s often compared to Destiny, and for good reasons. For one thing, they both take place in space. Not only that but they both feature skills and grinding elements; there are also tons of gear and items to collect. The only difference is that Warframe is played in the third-person perspective.

Set in the future, players control a race of ancient warriors known as the Tenno, who has awoken from a millennia-long sleep and find themselves in the war against a race of deteriorated and militarized human clones. In addition to your starship, which is fully customizable, there are several cities and hubs that you can travel across.

And like many of the games on this list, it can be played solo or with a group of friends. Aside from co-op mode, there’s also a PvPvE, PvP, and starship mode, among others.

Originally released for Windows computers in 2013, the game has since been ported to PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. While the game initially struggled with low player counts, it has since become one of the developer’s most successful titles, with over 50 million registered players across the globe.

The post The Best Games like Destiny in 2026– Top Alternatives appeared first on Gazette Review.

Did you recently start playing Disney Tsum Tsum on your phone? Looking to up your game? If so, you’re at the right place. We’ll be going over some tips and tricks below so be sure to keep reading!

10 Disney Tsum Tsum Tips and Tricks In 2026

Without further ado, here are a few things that you can do to get a higher score.

1. Generate As Many Magic Bubbles As You Can

A magic bubble will appear every time you clear a chain of 7 or higher. Tap on these bubbles and they’ll clear all of the tsum tsums surrounding them. And there is more than one type of bubble. Generally speaking, the greater the chain, the higher the chance of getting a “special bubble”.

There are four different types of special bubbles: time bubbles, coin bubbles, score bubbles, and experience bubbles.

Time Bubbles: They have a chance of appearing after a 9 to 16 chain (they occur the most often after clearing 9 to 12 chains). When popped, they will award you with two additional seconds to the timer. If left unpopped when the game ends, however, you will not receive the two seconds.

Experience Bubbles: They have a chance of appearing after an 11 to 18 chain (they occur the most often after a 13 to 15 chain). When popped, they will reward you with 10 experience points.

Coin Bubbles: They have a chance of appearing after a 13 to 20 chain (they occur the most often after a 16 to 18 chain). They will reward you with 10 coins when popped.

Score Bubbles: They have a chance of appearing after a 15 to 21 chain (they occur the most often after a 19 chain). Anything greater than 21 is also guaranteed to generate a score bubble. When popped, they will double the score you would have normally received from popping a regular bubble.

2. Manage Your Time Wisely

A standard game lasts 60 seconds. With each fever time you get, however, you’ll get an additional 5 seconds so you want to activate as many of them as possible. Given that you start with 60 seconds, you can technically have up to 12 fever times per game. Unless everything goes perfectly, however, that probably won’t happen. A more realistic goal is 8 to 10 fever times per game.

As it is, time management is super important when it comes to activating fever times. For one thing, you want to have an idea as to when it started. For example, if you activate fever time at 40 seconds, you’ll get 5 more seconds, which will bring you to 45 seconds. This means you can activate your next fever time at 35 seconds. So pay attention to the clock—we recommend having a skill activation available so that you can use it right away. Another strategy is to pop as many bubbles as you can at the 35-second mark. That way, you’ll maximize the amount of time you spend in fever mode.

If anything, this is especially important toward the end of the game (i.e. when there are less than 10 seconds left).

3. Avoid Using Gyro When Playing (There Are Exceptions)

The game allows you to use your phone’s gyroscope to tilt the tsum tsums around. This can help you get bigger chains, which will earn you more coins.

Having said that, it’s best not to use the gyro feature. While the tsum sums will fall when you tilt your phone, they’ll fall a lot slower (the game will slow their drop rate unless your device is held at a perfect 90 degrees, which is nearly impossible). Not to mention that the animation can also lag and when you only have 60 seconds, every second counts. Given that, it’s best to turn the gyro function off.

The only exception is if you’re trying to clear certain tsum tsums—ones with abilities that’ll help you get bigger chains. For example, you can use gyro if you’re trying to clear Beast tsums. With it on, each of them will swipe 30 to 42, depending on how many large tsums you have on the screen. Other exceptions include Scrooge, Jedi Luke, and Olaf.

Tip: Generally speaking, you want to hold your phone perpendicular to the ground if you’re using gyro. Don’t tilt it back; that’ll cause the tsums to drop more slowly. And if you’re playing beast, try to hold it to the right of the 1 o’clock position.

4. Try to Get On Your Own Personal Leader Board

Every player has their own personal leaderboard; it lists the high scores of their friends who’ve installed and played the Disney Tsum Tsum game (the list is sorted by high score). Every week on Sunday at 7 AM PST, the top three players on the rankings will earn coins as a reward. The player in first place will receive 3,000 coins, the player in second place will receive 2,000 coins, and the player in third place will receive 1,000 coins.

Not only that, but you’ll also get coins for achieving a weekly high score. For example, you’ll receive 3,000 coins if you score above 500,000 points, 4,000 coins if you score above 750,000 points, and 5,000 coins if you score above 1,000,000 points (the maximum reward is 16,000 coins for scoring above 10,000,000 points).

Given that, you want to rank as high as possible on your personal leaderboard. Keep in mind, however, that you’ll only get the rewards if you’re ranked on your own leaderboard. That is, your ranking on other players’ leaderboards doesn’t count. Just because you’re first on their rankings doesn’t mean you’ll earn 3,000 coins.

5. Take Advantage of Power-Ups

There are different in-game power-ups that you can purchase with coins before a game starts and each of them has their own perks. Every now and then, there will also be sale events where you can get them for a reduced price. Definitely take advantage of these items if you want to maximize your scores.

Currently, there are seven different types of power-ups that you can get:

+Score Power-up: Increases end game score points by 10 percent. Costs 500 Coins.

+Coin Power-up: Increases the total amount of coins you have by a random percentage amount (anywhere between 10 to 5000 percent), the most common being 30 to 40 percent. We recommend using this item when you have 1200-1400 base coins as that’ll increase the chances of a greater bonus. Costs 500 Coins.

+Exp Power-up: Increases the amount of experience that you’ll gain by an extra 10 percent. Costs 500 coins.

+Time Power-up: Increases the timer by an extra 5 seconds. Costs 1000 coins.

+Bubble Power-up: Reduces the number of tsum sums required to create a bubble, from 7 to 6. Not only that but it’ll also alter the range off special bubbles. For example, you’ll only need an 8 chain to generate a time bubble, as opposed to 9. Costs 1500 coins.

5 to 4 Power-up: Decreases the total number of tsum tsum types in the playing field from 5 to 4. It’ll also increase the drop rate of your mytsum, which will allow you to activate your abilities more often. Costs 1800 coins.

+Combo Power-up: Prevents the combo from breaking during gameplay. Costs 1200 coins.

6. Use Your MyTsum’s Skill

Every tsum has its own skill, which you can use to help you progress through the game. And every time you level up the Skill Level, the ability will become stronger. You can do that by acquiring a duplicate tsum from a Premium or Happiness Box (purchase required). There are also items that you can get from limited time events such as Skill Tickets, which will increase the Skill Level.

To use your mytsum’s skill, you must fill up the Skill Meter at the bottom left-hand side of the screen (the amount you need to fill up the meter will depend on the tsum tsum). You can do that by clearing your mytsum using bubbles or making a chain out of it. That will cause the meter to fill.

Once you’ve cleared enough mytsums, the button (the one with your tsum’s face plastered over it) will turn yellow. You can then tap on it to activate its skill. Depending on the tsum that you have, the skill may also activate automatically. For the most parts, however, you’ll have to tap on the skill button manually.

If the Skill Meter fills up and the game ends, you’ll get a “Last Bonus” where the game will randomly select one of the tsums that appeared in the game and clear all of them on the playing field. The number of coins that you receive will depend on how many bonuses you’ve cleared. Generally speaking, it’s better to use your tsum’s skill during the game than to wait for the last bonus (your score will be higher that way).

7. Use Skill Tickets to Increase Your Tsum’s Skill Level

Skill tickets are one of the different ticket types that you can get. If anything, they’re the most valuable item in the game as they can be used to increase your tsum tsum’s skill level (assuming that you’ve already gotten a copy of said tsum).

As a general rule, you don’t want to use a skill ticket on your tsum unless you’re absolutely positive that it’ll raise them to the next skill level. Remember, the number of skill tickets needed to increase their level will depend on their skill level. While you may only need one skill ticket to reach the next level at the beginning, you may need 15 or even 20 at the higher levels.

Tip: Having your tsum in between two different skill levels has no benefit. That is, there’s no difference between having your tsum at Skill Level 2 zero percent vs Skill Level 3 20 percent.

Aside from Bingo cards, you can also get Skill tickets from completing events. That’s not all, they can also be acquired from boxes that give special event tsums. Generally speaking, these boxes are white and are given as event rewards. Mrs. Potts is one example. To receive a skill ticket, you must max out their skill level. Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive a skill ticket once you open the event reward box.

To maximize the return, we recommend that you hold onto the event box. Then at a later time, you can buy out the capsule. That way, you’ll be able to max out the tsum’s skill level and every box you’ve kept will then turn into a ticket. Try not to open event boxes right away as you’ll receive a premium ticket instead of a skill ticket if the tsum reappears in a future capsule.

8. Know Who Your Coin Farmers Are

Some tsums are better at earning coins than others—these are known as “coin farmers”. Ideally, you want to have one really good tsum that you can rely on for coins instead of a bunch of lowered-level ones.

Currently, the top coin earners in the game include Beast, Gaston, Jedi Luke, Bat Hat Minnie Scrooge, and Sheriff Woody. For those who are just getting started, you can also opt for Peter Pan or Maleficent Dragon; they’re two of the best low SL coin earners in the game.

Tip: If you want to farm coins, wait for one of the above-listed tsums to become available and level them up by buying skill tickets. Don’t buy every new tsum tsum that’s released. You only want to start collecting after you have a strong coin farmer.

9. Don’t Worry Too Much About Experience Points

Experience points (XP) is the amount of experience you need to level up your account. The exact amount you need, however, is hidden; only a star percentage is displayed on the screen.

Generally speaking, it’s not something that you want to stress about, especially if you’re a beginner. The experience points will automatically come in as you’re playing the game (you’ll receive a certain amount depending on your score). The amount will also go up if you use items such as EXP bubbles.

10. Save Time By Skipping the Tsum Tsum Animations

Every time you clear a group of tsums, a smaller version of the character will go toward the skill bar or the fever bar. While it’s a nice effect, the animation itself can take up time. For example, it can make a big difference if you only have two seconds left after making a 9 or 10 chain, which would put you into fever time.

Don’t worry, though, you can easily “skip” the animation by popping a bubble; that’ll cause the sums to clear out faster all at once. It’ll also send all of the tsums you’ve cleared instantly to the fever bar. That way, you’ll be able to make the most out of the last few seconds. It’ll also do the same thing with the skill meter; your sums will instantly fill it up.

Bonus Tip: Overcharging

Making a chain of tsums larger than what you need to fill the skill meter is called “overcharging.” For example, if you only need three more mytsums to fill your skill meter and you make an 8 chain, the remaining five will go toward your next skill if you press the button during the animation once it has filled up (as opposed to waiting for all 8 to go to your skill button).

The post Disney Tsum Tsum Cheats, Tips, & Tricks in 2026 appeared first on Gazette Review.

Back in 2013, an indie game developer by the name of Orteil, released a browser game called Cookie Clicker. The premise of this game is simple: to click on a giant cookie. Yup, that’s it. Well, kind of. There’s a lot more to the game that meets the eye, but the general idea is that simple; you just need to click a giant cookie. Back when the game first came out, I was immediacy hooked. I played for days on end, just letting the game run in the background while I did other things, while occasionally checking on my status. And that’s what I believe makes the game so addicting. After you first start playing the game, all you can do is click to earn points. But after a while, you can purchase upgrades with the cookies. These upgrades range from helpful grandmas, to portals that send cookies from other dimensions. While in the beginning you’ll do a bit of clicking, after a while you won’t have to manually click as much. The upgrades you purchase will give you more CpS, or, ‘Cookies per Second’. After so many upgrades, you’ll eventually get to insanely high numbers. Don’t be surprised when after 10 hours, you’re making billions of cookies per second, which, surprisingly, isn’t a very high number.

Cookie Clicker hasn’t even been out for three years yet, and the game has received so much love that it’s already through its beta stage, and into the official stage. Just a few weeks ago, Orteil released V 2.0, which introduces tons of new content, like Golden Cookies, and even Cookie Dungeons. There’s also a new monster, which is pretty cool looking, but you have to be far into the game to find him.

But let’s say you’ve already got your fill of Cookie Clicker, and you want to venture out and find new games that are similar in nature. Well, we’ve got your covered. I’ve come up with a list of the top 5 games that are just like Cookie Clicker. While all of these games have the same game play as Cookie Clicker, visually they’re all different, which is really what makes this genre of gaming so unique.

So without further ado, here are the 2018 list of the best games that are just like Cookie Clicker.

Top Five Games Like Cookie Clicker – 2018 List

#5 – Goomy Clicker

Back in October of 2013, Nintendo released the sixth generation of handheld Pokémon games, this time on the Nintendo 3DS. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y featured over 100 new Pokémon, one of them being Goomy. If you don’t follow Pokémon that much, each generation has their own line of pseudo-legendary Pokémon — Pokémon that aren’t legendries, but contain the stats of legendary Pokémon. The most well-known of the pseudo-legendries is of course Dratini, but you have other popular ones as well, like Larvitar, and Deino. But for some reason, Goomy was different. When the initial images of Goomy were leaked onto the Internet, Pokémon fans from everywhere went nuts for Goomy. He’s just this tiny little blob of a Pokémon, but that is what makes him so adorable. He’s just a little dragon blob. When Sluggoo, Goomys second form was leaked soon after, the Internet continued to go crazy. But the craziness would soon die down, as the final evolution of the Goomy line was leaked – the Pokémon known as Goodra. Goodra on its own isn’t so bad. He’s relatively decent looking, but it could have been better. He goes from adorable little blob, to a kind of cute-ish blubbery looking dragon, but that’s not where Goodra fails. The lack of a viable moveset, the weak final stats, topped off by it being pure Dragon type, rather than something new, like Dragon/Poison, or even Dragon/Fairy, made Goodra one of the most underwhelming Pokémon as of late.

Anyway, that’s the history of Goomy, in case you weren’t around for those few hours of madness. And now if you’re wondering why Goomy, of all Pokémon, got their own clicker game, well, now you know.

Goomy Clicker starts off very similar to Cookie Clicker. You click the giant Goomy that is on the left side of the screen, and it gives you more Goomy’s. The more Goomys you have, the more items you can use to purchase upgrades. The upgrades are of course Pokémon themed, including Youngsters, and even legendary Pokémon. The look of the screen when you are playing is similar to a PokéDex. You have your own stats, the total number of Goomy’s, and there’s even an experience bar under the Goomy, that shows when it will level up.

Overall, Goomy Clicker is a very cute game. In terms of graphics, it’s a lot simpler than Cookie Clicker. It’s more straight forward, so you won’t be confused by anything, and you can just enjoy starring at Goomy.

#4 – Clicking Bad

If you’re one of the few people on Earth who never experienced the Breaking Bad craze, then this game will likely confuse you very much. Feel free to check this game out, but before you do, hop onto Netflix and binge watch Breaking Bad. You’ll likely fall in love with the show and become obsessed, which is normal. But whatever you do, don’t go and try becoming a drug lord. Play Clicking Bad instead.

Clicking Bad has the same general premise as Breaking Bad. You start the game as a lowly drug dealer, by both creating and selling methamphetamine, with the goal of becoming much more than just a pity thug. Clicking Bad, despite the lack of any graphics, is actually quite a complex game, and there’s more at stake here than any of the other Cookie Clicker clones out there. When you first begin playing, you need to spam the COOK! button. After gaining some batches, all you have to do is click the SELL! button, which is located directly underneath. The more batches you sell, the more upgrades you can buy, and with more upgrades, you can gradually increase the purity of your product.

The main difference between Clicking Bad and Cookie Clicker is the fact that you need to watch your product and your profits very carefully. There is both the DEA and the IRS to look out for, both of which will mess up your game if you’re caught. Luckily there are ways to dodge both of those agencies, through money laundering and generally watching your percentages to make sure you aren’t audited or raided.

#3 – Sandcastle Builder

When I first opened up this game in my browser, I had no idea what I was looking at. The look and feel of the game reminded me of those old text-based games from the late ‘90s, back when the majority of computers couldn’t handle gaming very well. The graphics of Sandcastle Builder look like they were made in Microsoft Paint, what with perfectly lined boxes and two stick figures, which seem to be somberly looking out into the ocean from their little beach. Everything is so basic and nostalgic looking, but that is where the game comes to deceive the player. This game is so mind-bogglingly complex, that even when you think you’re far into the game, you’re just as likely to still be in the beginning stages.

The first thing you’ll notice when you start playing is the giant picture of the couple on the beach. When you begin clicking the picture, you get sand, and when you get enough sand, it creates a sand castle. You can spend sand castles on either Sand Tools or Castle Tools. When you’ first start clicking, you’ll notice you get a castle pretty easily, and it’s like that for the first few, but after a little bit, gaining more sand castles becomes difficult, which is not like Cookie Clicker at all, considering gaining cookies and buying upgrades is very easy.

At first you’ll want to get into buying NewPixBots, because these are the things which will help you get more castles once you get going, as long as you aren’t clicking. I know, that doesn’t make very much sense, but once you get the hang of the game, you’ll understand better. The game can be very confusing in the beginning, but the main thing you should know is that this game, while very similar to Cookie Clicker, operates very differently. Cookie Clicker is a very fast paced game. You can leave your computer for half an hour and return to find yourself with a bunch of cookies. Sandcastle Builder isn’t like that whatsoever. This is a lot slower, so if you’re one of those people who enjoys taking their time and really getting involved with their games, you should definitely check this one out.

#2 – Sakura Clicker

If you’re a fan of Japanese anime, with anime girls wearing revealing clothes, then Sakura Clicker is the perfect game for you. It’s fairly NSFW, so I would steer clear from playing it around other people. Unless you don’t have any shame, in which case, feel free to play it with whomever around. The goal of this game is much like an RPG, where you level up your party and defeat bosses. You start the game as an anime girl, and you click other anime girls’ bodies to gain gold. With gold you can buy more members for your party, but only the one girl (on the right) with stay on screen, as you’re mainly her. You can also purchase upgrades to make your party stronger.

The cool thing about this game is how customizable it is. You can purchase different sets of clothes and hair for your anime character, which is a feature other clicker games don’t have. The game is based on stages, and every 10th stage is a boss. If you can’t defeat the boss, you can go back to the previous level and train more. When you’re fighting a normal enemy, you have an unlimited amount of time, but if you’re up against a boss, you only get 30 seconds. If you run out of time, you simply start the level over again. Each enemy and boss is a different type of half animal, so you’ll be seeing a lot of cat girls.

#1 – Clicker Heroes

Much like Sakura Clicker, Clicker Heroes is a full-fledged RPG, and in my opinion, is the absolute best clicker game of them all. If you’re looking for an idle-game that you can really dedicate some time too, and you don’t feel like starring at anime boobs all day, I 100% recommend playing Clicker Heroes.

You begin the game by clicking the monsters that show up on the right side of the screen. After you defeat them, depending on which stage you are on, you gain a certain percentage of gold. With gold you can hire adventurers. These adventurers join your party, and when you acquire more gold, you level them up, making them stronger. Each adventurer has their own unique gimmick, which becomes even more noticeable when you buy their upgrades. Most adventurer upgrades will double their DPS, but certain characters will give you cool skills to use and even give you bonuses to make the game easier, like earning more gold after you defeat each monster.

This game also has bosses, which appear every 5th stage. It’s easy to go back to previous stages in case you aren’t strong enough and you need to grind for more gold to upgrade your characters. The stages change themes every time you defeat a boss, so you aren’t forced to look at the same boring thing all the time. The change of scenery really helps too, as a lot of things will pop up on the screen at random intervals, which give bonus currency and skills, but I’ll let you figure out what those things are.

Both Clicker Heroes and Sakura Clicker are on Steam and they’re 100% free, so you should definitely check them out. They aren’t played on your browser, but rather a new window which pops up.

From popular cable television shows, to Japanese video games, there’s a different theme of clicker game for everyone. You may ask yourself why you’d even bother playing games like this. There are thousands of free games on the Internet to choose from, so why choose one where you don’t really do much of anything? That I can’t tell you. There is just something unique about these games that make your brain become addicted. You can play when you’re not paying attention, and even when you’re out with your friends.

Happy clicking!

The post Top 5 Games Like Cookie Clicker – 2018 List appeared first on Gazette Review.

Becoming a professional gamer was once inconceivable, but today it is very feasible way to generate a substantial income. Video game streams attract millions of viewers every day. Viewers typically dedicate their time and money to streamers with skills and personality, but some streamers attract a cult following without even gaming competitively. Streamers typically broadcast on Twitch.tv. Youtube Gaming, Hitbox, and Ustream are also popular options.

It is hard to gauge the exact net worth of the wealthiest gaming streamers. However, one can get a ballpark figure of a streamer’s net worth by analyzing their subscribers, donations, and sponsorships. One thing in particular to keep in mind is that Twitch.tv’s subscription system is different from other sites. When a user subscribes, they agree to pay $5 per month and receive several benefits as a result. Twitch.Tv takes a 50% cut of that figure, so therefore streamers receive $2.5 per subscribed month.

A user with relatively few subscribers can still make enough income live off of. Because, Twitch.tv does not allow streamers to reveal their exact subscriber count, a streamer’s total subscribers can only be guessed by their viewer count and the amount of new subscriptions they receive while streaming.

10. Gross Gore – $150,000

Ali Larsen aka Gross Gore is a British streamer best known for streaming Runescape. He has played the game since 2007, and began streaming after reaching a high level in the game. Gross Gore’s live streams are viewed by 5,000 to 20,000 people on any given day. Despite being banned from Twitch.tv in 2016 due to conflicts with other figures in gaming, he continued to stream on on other platforms. He was unbanned in June of 2017.

Gross Gore once leaked a year’s worth of donations while drunkenly streaming. Although his donation window was only shown for a split second, the moment was still captured by viewers. In a year, he earned over $100,000. He also successfully rallied viewers to help him raise funds for a custom Toyota Supra.

9. Ice Poseidon – $200,000

Paul Deninno aka Ice Poseidon is a Twitch streamer most famous for live streaming Runescape and his daily life Ice Poseidon gained notoriety after several disputes with Twitch.tv over his reluctance to moderate text-to-speech donation messages from viewers. As a result, viewers competed to say the most vile things they could conjure. After a buildup of controversy, Twitch.tv banned Ice Poseidon for a month as a stern warning to not slip up again.

Although the characters of his fanbase may be questionable, Ice Poseidon at least makes money from them. As he once showed viewers on stream, he has made over $100,000 from donations alone. His exact amount of subscribers is unknown, but the data he displayed showed he gained 450 to 600 subscribers per month. That means he can receive anywhere from $1125 to $1500 per month.

8. Forsen – $400,000

Forsen aka Sebastian Fors received flak from viewers after switching to playing Hearthstone almost exclusively from games such as Starcraft and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The Swedish streamer’s change in his habits resulted in him losing some of his subscribers. However, it is known throughout the gaming community that most Hearthstone players are paid considerable amounts of money by Blizzard.

Forsen was once one of the top streamers on Twitch, and is still well known despite falling from the top spot. While live streaming in March 2015, his total donations were displayed. In a single month, he had received roughly $200,000 in an 8 month period from donations alone. He is estimated to have over 6000 subscribers.

7. Trick2G – $500,000

Tim Foley aka Trick2g is a streamer and professional League of Legends player. Trick2g is known for his on-stream antics, particularly loud angry screaming when his team messes up. He is also known for streaming long hours. At the peak of his career, he would sometimes stream 12 hours a day.

Although figures on Trick2G’s net worth are difficult to find, a look his stream reveals that his stats closely rival those of the platform’s other top streamers. He has been streaming since 2014 and averages 2500 subs per month. In 2014, it was estimated he made $14k per month from ads, subscribers, and donations.

6. Sodapoppin – $1 million

Chance Morris, also known as Sodapoppin is a gaming streamer who got his start playing World of Warcraft competitively. Sodapoppin reached rank 1 on the game, and more than half of Twitch’s World of Warcraft viewers were watching him on any given day. After several years of playing World of Warcraft, he began streaming himself playing a wide variety of other games.

While trying to his donation total for a single streaming session, Sodapoppin leaked his all-time donations on accident. His donations for the first few months of 2017 totaled just over $230,000. Sodapoppin has also claimed to have over 70,000 total subscribers throughout his streaming career. Assuming none of those subscribers were recurring, that means he has made at least $175,000 from subscribers alone. In any given month, Sodapoppin usually has around 7,000 active subscribers.

5. Lirik – $1.3 million

Lirik, aka Sabiq Zahid is one of the most successful streamers of 2017. His entertaining presentation style helped him build a large following in short period of time. He typically streams 7 – 10 hours per day, and his stream is viewed 20,000 – 30,000 people per day. Lirik plays games such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft, DayZ, and any game his viewers demand.

Lirik makes over $200,000 annually from subscribers alone. His massive following attracts many companies who offer him lucrative endorsement deals. Ad revenue (from both Twitch and Youtube), stream views, and donations are rumored to make Lirik pull in close to seven figures each year.

4. Reckful – $1.5 million

Byron Berstein, known by his handle Reckful is a veteran World of Warcraft player and event caster. He played World of Warcraft competitively for several years, and was at one point a top ranked player. He has since switched to Hearthstone and other games. After switching to playing Hearthstone almost exclusively as well as getting a girlfriend, the entertainment value of Reckful’s stream tanked – and his viewership along with it. He remains quite well known today despite this.

Reckful’s decline in popularity Unlike other streamers, Reckful is quite transparent about his earnings. He has made himself a small fortune through t-shirt sales and investing. He once lost $160,000 in a poorly calculated investment, but quickly recovered. Reckful claimed to be worth approximately $1.5 million during a livestream.

3. Summit1G – $2.5 million

Jaryd “Summit1G” Lazar is a semi-professional Counter Strike Go player. Summit1G started playing CSGO in 2012, and started playing competitively shortly after. He was one of the first top level CSGO players to began streaming, and was thus able to secure a large chunk of the fanbase.

Many CSGO players also gamble with rare skins. Doing so is a legal gray area. Summit1G has been lucky enough to profit from skin gambling, which he has done so legally. However, the bulk of his earnings still come from donations and ad revenue. He also earns over six figures per year selling merchandise.

2. ImaQtPie – $3 million

Michael “Imaqtpie” Santana is a League of Legends streamer and a former pro gamer. After retiring from team Dignitas in 2014, he decided to become a full time streamer. Imaqtpie didn’t expect many people to want to watch him, but his skills in League of Legends set him apart from the rest. He was soon making more money than he ever did as a pro gamer.
Imaqtpie has successfully leveraged the fame from his pro gaming career into a streaming career that has fully eclipsed it. Subscribers, ad revenue, and donations made him $2 million dollars in 2016. With nearly 2 million followers, fe is the most popular League of Legends streamer.

1. PhantomL0rd – $4 million

Not all streamers have earned their wealth through legitimate means. James Varga, known by his username PhantomL0rd became extremely popular on Twitch after winning numerous risky CSGO skin gambles. Even after he repeatedly won bets as large as $10,000 on the gambling website CSGO shuffle, few people suspected anything. In 2016, a hacker revealed that PhantomL0rd was actually the owner of CSGO Shuffle all along, and rigged odds in his favor.

The site was shut down, but not before PhantomL0rd ran off with millions. The drama prompted Valve to ban all gambling sites that used Steam. Twitch also responded by banning all gambling broadcasts. PhantomL0rd was never prosecuted, and began streaming again in July 2017. After his ban, multiple CSGO gamblers on Youtube were discovered to have secret ties CSGO gambling sites.

The post Top 10 Richest Gaming Streamers appeared first on Gazette Review.

Augmented reality is a technological development that will play a big part in all our futures, the technology enabling us to seamlessly blend real-life with computer generated graphics has been around for a while, but now in 2018 it has become sophisticated enough to create a virtual World on top of the real World, and the inclusion of the phenomenally successful Pokemon franchise has led to the birth of possibly the most influential game of all time. By now we’ve all heard a few stories about strange encounters that gamers have had during a Pokemon Go session, and reality, with all its attendant dangers has had a profound impact on a few players who quite literally sometimes forgot where they were, but what have been the weirdest Pokemon Go incidents that have happened so far? Read on to find out.

#10 – Pokemon Go Players Fall Off a Cliff

Two young men from San Diego had a sudden drop in fortune, both virtually and literally on July 14th 2016 when they decided to pursue some Pokemon onto some private land. Climbing over a fence in order to access the property you can imagine their surprise when the ground underneath their feet suddenly disappeared. They had fallen off of a cliff, one they would have been adequately warned about, had they paid attention to their surroundings and the numerous warning signs in the area. The men, both in their twenties had approached a crumbling sandstone bluff, which had subsequently collapsed under their weight. One fell 50 feet, and the other over 100 feet. The pair both received serious injuries, but fortunately they both survived.

#9 – Inappropriate Pokestops

Pokemon Go players have several aims, but one which drives many of them blindly forward is the opportunity to visit a Pokestop, a place where they can level up, increase their Pokemon training abilities and sometimes even gain a Pokemon egg. Pokestops are commonly found in many public places, such as churches, malls and parks and it is to such places that hordes of Pokemon hunters eagerly descend, hoping to advance in the game. But some of the Pokestops were not entirely suitable places for crowds of mainly young, and often noisy, hunters to be rampaging about. The Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC was certainly not too happy to be included as a Pokestop, and for entirely different reasons, neither was the owner of a Clean and Sober living facility in California that was home to a number of low-risk sex offenders, all of whom were at risk of breaking their parole by having children congregating outside the property at all hours.

#8 – Pokemon Go Player Finds a Body

Shayla Wiggins is a nineteen year old Pokemon Go player from Riverton, Australia, and early in the morning of July 12th she was searching for Pokemon around a river at the back of her home, but she found something far more disturbing than a Squirtle, instead she discovered a body. After a moment of shock she contacted police who, after investigation, quickly established that the body was that of a local 28 year old man who they believed had drowned accidentally. While commenting on the case a senior police official in nearby Darwin pointed out that the main police station had been thrown into chaos for a few days, as it was also a Pokestop and had been flooded by budding Pokemon hunters for the entire week. Since Shayla’s grim discovery two more bodies have been found by Pokemon Go players, in New Hampshire and San Diego.

#7 – Pokemon Go Player Cheats on his Girlfriend – And Gets Caught

Evan Scribner didn’t entirely forget about Pokemon Go, even when he was hooked-up with his ex-girlfriend for a night of passion. At some time during the night Evan, who is no relation to his Baseball playing namesake, decided to spend a little time hunting and he got lucky yet again, managing to catch one of the pesky little critters, but the captured Pokemon was to be his undoing. Back home the following night in Queens, New York, Evan’s regular lady became suspicious when she noticed that he had caught a Pokemon in Brooklyn the night before. Evan was left high and dry by his quickly departing girlfriend and left to curse Pokemon Go’s geolocation feature which records where and when every Pokemon is caught. Evan isn’t alone in finding that Pokemon Go has ruined his love-life either, a flood of frustrated people have taken to social media complaining that Pokemon Go addiction was the primary factor in the break up of their relationships.

#6 – Pokemon Go Players Swarm a Neighborhood

The quiet and affluent suburb of Rhodes in Sydney, Australia is rarely troubled by any major disturbances. It was so quiet in fact that there was no need for the local police station, which closed in 2015, however the advent of Pokemon Go left many in the area wishing that the police still had a presence there. A playground in the center of the residential area became besieged by crowds of well over 1,000 Pokemon Go players every night in July when they discovered that the site was home to not just one, but three Pokestops. The resulting chaos left the area looking like a bomb site every morning, with debris and trash strewn throughout the site. Local residents eventually took matters into their own hands, and began pelting the assembled hunters with eggs and water-bombs from apartment blocks when their frustration at the noise and disturbance got too much. Fortunately, before things escalated into all out war and the hunters became the hunted, Niantic agreed to remove all three Pokestops at the request of the Sydney police.

#5 – Robberies and Attacks on Pokemon Go Players

Perhaps the most disturbing incidents that occurred during the first few frantic weeks of the Pokemon Go craze were attacks specifically targeted on players using the Lure option. Lures can be used at Pokestops to catch additional Pokemon, and once placed by a player they remain active for 30 minutes and can be seen by all other players nearby. It didn’t take long for criminals to spot an opportunity to use them to set-up ambushes for unsuspecting players. There were a number of attacks on players by gangs who used a lure to attract them to deserted Pokestops late at night, and one man was stabbed by a group of assailants in Missouri in July. Missouri Police later arrested four men who were suspected of luring multiple Players to a deserted Pokestop and robbing them at gunpoint. The late-night attacks have declined since the potential real dangers posed to players became widely publicised, but popular Twitch streamer Rickey Yaneza, known as Rickeybot, was held up on September 19th 2016 in Central Park, and suffered cuts and bruises as he was relieved of three cellphones by a mugger believed to be carrying a knife. The whole incident was streamed live to hundreds of Ricky’s concerned fans and the robber, whose face was briefly caught on camera is still being hunted by police.

#4 – Pokemon Go Marines Catch a Criminal on The Run

Pokemon Go isn’t just played by children, it also has a firm following of older people, many of whom enjoyed the game from the time it was first launched back in February 1996. Two slightly older fans of the game were Javier Soch and Seth Ortega, who also happened to be former members of the Marine Corps. They were hunting a Pokemon or two in a park in Fullerton, California in August 2016 when they noticed a man acting strangely. Their military training made them far more prepared for trouble than the average Pokemon hunter, but they took no action until the man appeared to be bothering a woman with young children. The pair intervened and detained the man, who complied peacefully with their instructions, until the police arrived. It was later revealed by authorities that the man had an outstanding warrant for charges including attempted murder and assault.

#3 – Pokemon Go Player Fakes a Murder

Some people will do anything for attention, and it wasn’t long before someone took advantage of the Pokemon Go craze to gain a few views on their YouTube account. A YouTube user named Alex Ramirez was working for Uber, the car sharing service and also streaming Pokemon Go live to his YouTube account at the same time when things took an apparently disturbing turn. Alex suddenly exclaimed that he had seen a man dragging a dead body behind a church in Beaumont, Texas and even worse he had been seen by the man. What followed was a tense five minute long chase where Alex could be heard puffing and panting as he tried to run away from a probable murderer, who he reported was now following him in a dark van. The stream abruptly cut off as Ramirez told his viewers he had to contact the police. Concerned viewers also reported the incident and the story quickly spread on the internet, until someone looked into the situation a little deeper. Alex’s story was soon uncovered as a complete hoax after locals from the area began to report that no body had been found behind the church, police confirmed that there was no body, and no report of one had been made, and the internet turned on Alex with a vengeance. Uber received a flood of calls calling for his dismissal, and they reacted by sacking him, according to them because he was playing Pokemon Go when he was supposed to be driving and not because of his dramatic hoax, but the net result was the same. A tearful Alex posted a brief audio clip blaming ‘Trolls’ and ‘10 year olds’ for losing him his job, but few online had any sympathy for him, rather he was criticized by many for causing such panic amongst his mainly young audience.

#2 – Pokemon Go Players stumble over the border

America has a problem with people illegally crossing its border, but it’s usually in the South that the majority of cases occur, so it was with some surprise that US Border Protection agents spotted two Canadian teenagers wandering about in Sweet Grass, Montana one night. The pair were completely unaware that they were now illegal immigrants, and their parents, from nearby Coutts, in the Canadian province of Alberta, promised to restrict their use of the game when they picked them up from a Border crossing later that night.

#1 – Pokemon Go Player Murdered

The first death attributed to Pokemon Go seemed almost inevitable, and on August 6th 2016 it finally happened. 20 year old Calvin Riley was playing the game with a friend in a park near San Francisco’s famous waterfront when he was targeted in a random shooting. His friend had noticed the assailant briefly before the attack but the pair had been completely absorbed in their hunt and failed to consider that they might be in any danger, particularly considering that it was only 10pm and there were other people around them. The dangers of Pokemon Go however, are not limited to only those who play the game, on August 24th a driver in Tokushima, Japan was so engrossed in the game, while driving, that he completely failed to notice a red light. As a result one woman was killed instantly and another was seriously injured when he ploughed into them without even braking.

The post The Top 10 Weirdest Things That Happened to Pokemon Go Players appeared first on Gazette Review.

APB: All Points Bulletin is a multiplayer gamed developed in 2010 by Realtime Worlds. The game was hyped as a sort of a GTA-style player vs. player battle arena. Basically, the game was supposed to be a huge battle arena where two factions, Enforcers and Criminals, would face off. One party had to do certain tasks, and the other had to stop them. The game was originally supposed to release on both Windows and the Xbox 360, but that was later changed to Windows only. The game was finally released 2 years after the deadline, in 2010, and didn’t score so well. It wasn’t selling very well, and support and further development weren’t profitable. The game was eventually sold to K2 Network, and they turned it into APB: Reloaded, a free to play title.

9) Beyond Good & Evil

Before the fans of this game start a witch hunt on me, I just want to say that Beyond Good & Evil was a *commercial* flop. I’m very much aware that it’s a very acclaimed title. However, due to Ubisoft releasing other titles simultaneously with Beyond Good & Evil, the game wasn’t really popular during its release. The game was selling so poorly that it hit discounts of up to 80% weeks after the release. The reasoning for this was small marketing efforts by Ubisoft, as well as many other games being released during the holiday season. A trilogy was planned, but was heavily postponed due to the poor sales. However, the second title is currently being developed.

8) Brütal Legend

Brütal Legend, released in 2009, is an action-adventure game heavily tied with heavy metal genre of music. The soundtrack of the game includes no less than one hundred tracks that spread over various subgenres of metal. Voice actors include Lemmy Kilmister, Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Black and other famous metal musicians. Such a game had to do well, because there is a lot of metalheads around the world, right? Well yeah, in theory it shouldn’t have flopped, but it did. Thanks to the mess that was the whole publishing process and the fact that it was released alongside AAA titles such as Batman: Arkham Asylum and CoD: MW2, the game was indeed a commercial failure. Brütal Legend, however, did receive good reviews and managed to sell almost 1,5 million copies by 2011.

7) Daikatana

One of the most well-known video game flops is Daikatana. The game was massively hyped due to its creator, John Romero, who was one of the key designers behind the ever-popular Doom. Daikatana is, like Doom, a first person shooter, released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color. It was marketed as the next big thing in gaming, but upon it released it was obvious that it’s nothing like that. Daiktana was full of bugs, had underwhelming gameplay and lackluster production values. All of that combined with many release date delays made the game under perform when it came to sales and reception.

6) Duke Nukem Forever

Duke Nukem franchise is one of the best known and most loved game series of all time. However, there is a black sheep, known as Duke Nukem Forever, that ruined that reputation in 2011. The game was first announced in 1997, and spent 15 years in development, only to flop when the release date rolled around. The critics and fans were disappointed by the design, graphics, loading times, controls and overall age that the game was showing. During the first month, the game sold around 376,000 copies, half the expected amount. However, the game would turn out to be profitable after all, likely due to the nostalgic gamers who wanted to meet with Duke once again after 15 years of waiting.

5) Grim Fandango

And another fan favorite title makes the list. The first LucasArts’ adventure game to use 3D graphics, Grim Fandango, is a praised game today. However, during its release, it didn’t do so well. Why, you might ask, because the game was great? Two reasons. First one being the decrease in popularity of adventure games, that everyone was getting sick of by the time Grim Fandango was released. The other reason is that it was released simultaneously with some of the most-praised games of all time; Half-Life, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid. Those games obviously overshadowed Grim Fandango, but as time went on, it became profitable and well-acclaimed. It even got an HD remastered version that did very well. A happy ending for a great title.

4) The Last Express

The mind behind Prince of Persia, Jordan Mechner developed The Last Express in 1997. All it took was 6 million dollars and 5 years of development. The game got great reviews and was predicted to become a huge hit. Everything was looking great for The Last Express. But, the publishers failed to do a part of their job – market the game properly. The game was only briefly mentioned here and there, so not many people knew about it. It sold about 100,000 copies, which doesn’t sound too bad, right? But it is, because it needed around 10 times that to break even. In 2012, the port of the game appeared for both iOS and Android platforms, so power up your smartphone if you’re interested in checking it out yourself.

3) MadWorld

The Wii is, for those of you who are not familiar, a family oriented video game console made by Nintendo. Focus on the fact that it is family and children oriented for a second, it’s important for the rest of this. In 2009, Platinum Games made MadWorld, a game of the Wii. It was a gory, over-the-top hack and slash title that had no place on a console such as the Wii. Although the critics did like the game, Wii owners, majority of whom are parents, did not. The game sold just over 120,000 copies in the first 6 months after it was released. The sales were deemed as “disappointing”, by Sega, the publisher of MadWorld.

2) Psychonauts

Another highly critically acclaimed game, that was also a huge hit with the fans, makes the list. Psychonauts is a great game, and has been ever since it was released. So what made it flop? Like others great games that failed sales-wise, it wasn’t marketed enough. It was known on gaming sites and magazines as a great games that no one played. However, as time passed and digital downloads became more common, the game got the audience it deserves. Today the game has sold many copies (and by that I mean millions) over services such as Steam, HumbleBundle and similar. Yay for the happy ending!

1) Shenmue and Shenmue II

I’ve decided to grant today’s number one spot for something special, and Shenmue and its successor are definitely that. Unlike other games that flopped, these two actually did good, sales-wise. But they were overambitious, investing over $70 million into the production (keep in mind that we’re talking about 1999 dollars). By the time Shenmue II came out, Dreamcast wasn’t very popular any more, so another flop happened. However, there was a Kickstarter related to the third Shenmue game, and more than enough money was raised. The set date for release is December 2017, so we still have some waiting to do before we see will third time be the charm.

Honorable Mentions

Ride to Hell: Retribution is one of the most recently released games to be called “the worst game of all time”. And it was called that by everyone and their mothers. The game scored low with the critics and was made fun of by gamers. However, not much about its sales is known, so who knows maybe the game’s negative publicity made it profitable.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) was released in order to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary and grab some attention towards the brand for the upcoming generation. Sadly, the game was rushed to be released by Christmas, so the entire game turned out to be very underwhelming. It was even listed in the “Top Ten Disappointments of the Decade” list, which really says something about it.

The tenth installment of the Tony Hawks series, Pro Skater 5, was another negatively received title. The game had huge performance problems and the entire gameplay was lackluster. It scored very low, and would go even lower if it wasn’t for the nostalgia factor.

The video game industry is a huge one, we all know that. Millions of dollars are being poured into developing new AAA games each year across many platforms. Most games come and go without being widely popular, but most of the big name titles usually stay for years.

But then, there are games that have shaped the gaming world by how popular were they. Games that are or will be considered classics and some of the best games ever created. These games are being played for decades after their release, with many generations discovering and enjoying them.

Today, we are bringing you the list of top 10 most successful video games, ranked by the amount of copies sold. We’re counting all platforms available, as well as physical and digital copies of the games. Without further ado, here are the most popular video games ever!

10) Wii Play (28 Million)

If you’re not familiar with the Wii, it is a gaming console targeted towards casual gamers. It is a seventh-generation console, meaning that its competitors are the PS3 and Xbox 360. While all three consoles sold well, the Wii sold the most units by far compared to the other two. One of the launch game for the Wii consoles was Wii Play. Wii Play is a bundle of 9 mini games created to teach the player how to use the Wii Remote (controller for the console). The 9 games were Shooting Range, Find Mii, Table Tennis, Pose Mii, Laser Hockey, Fishing, Billiards, Charge! and Tanks!. The game was released alongside the Wii console between 2006 and 2007, depending on the region. Wii Party didn’t receive good reviews from the critics. For example it holds a Metacritic score of 58/100 and GameSpot rated it 5.4 out of 10. Regardless of that, the game sold extremely well to the causal audiences. It sold 28.02 million copies worldwide according to Nintendo, and placed itself at our number 10 spot on the most popular video games list.

9) Diablo III (30 Million)

Diablo III is the third installment of one of the most popular video game franchises ever. The first two Diablo games were released in 1996 and 2000 respectively, and were one of the most popular video games of their time. In 2008, Blizzard announced that Diablo III is in the making, and the news quickly spread around the gaming magazines and websites. By its release in 2012, the game was hyped up beyond all boundaries, and in the first 24 hours fans bought 3.5 million copies of the game. Diablo III was released for several gaming platforms – Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and sold a total of 30 million copies. The game also received great ratings by critics and was more than accepted by the fans, making it one of the most popular video games ever.

8) New Super Mario Bros. (31 Million)

New Super Mario Bros. was released for the Nintendo DS handheld console in 2006, and has since become one of the best-selling games ever. The game is similar to the other games from the Mario franchise. It is a side-scrolling platformer in which Mario has to beat 80 levels and save the princess. The game received great reviews thanks to many improvements over the prequels, but was also criticized for its simplicity. Regardless, it got very high reviews from all major reviewers, and sold close to 31 million copies world-wide. And with that amount, it is officially the best-selling DS game ever.

7) Wii Sports Resort (33 Million)

Wii Sports Resort is a sequel to Wii Sports, a game that you’ll meet later on in this list. Resort was released in 2009, and it contains 12 sports games played using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Thanks to the improvements over the original, Wii Sports Resort offered an immersive experience because the game precisely and swiftly copied all the player motions onto the screen. Thanks to that, the game got great reviews from majority of the critics, and has sold 33 million copies world-wide. Other than being one of the best-selling video games overall, it’s one of the top 3 best-selling Wii games, right after its predecessor, Wii Sports, and…

6) Mario Kart Wii (36 Million)

Another Wii exclusive reaches over 30 million sold copies world-wide. Mario Kart is one of the most recognizable franchises in the world, and its Wii release further increased its fame. Like other Mario Kart games, this game is all about kart racing using Mario characters. Using special items and your own motor skills, your goal is to beat your opponents and win the race. Mario Kart Wii also implemented a new way of controlling the game, which was obviously the Wii Remote with its motion sensor ability. The game got mostly great reviews, and was praised for the amount of tracks and characters, as well for its online multiplayer capability. Thanks to all of that, the game sold around 36 million copies since its release in 2008.

5) Super Mario Bros. (56 Million)

The second game from the Mario franchise to reach this list sold a massive amount of 56 million copies! Super Mario Bros. is the pseudo-sequel to the original Mario game. It was first released in Japan in 1985, and the rest of the world was able to play it two years later. The game played a big part in making the industry of video games what it is today. It was the best-selling game in the world for 30 years! The game got great reviews, thanks to which it sold around 56 million copies during its long existence. Super Mario Bros. is one of the pioneers of gaming and more than deserves the 5th spot on our list.

4) Grand Theft Auto V (65 Million)

The most recently released video game to claim a spot at our most popular video games list is Grand Theft Auto V. The game was first released in 2013 for 7th gen consoles – Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A year later it was also available in the current generation of consoles – Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Finally, in 2015 it was released for Microsoft Windows. Its prequel was released in 2008, and fans have been eager to play a new GTA game since then. And GTA V surely delivered. Millions of dollars were put into the production of this title, and many more into its marketing efforts. By the time of its release, everyone and their mothers talked about the new GTA. Often called the best game of all time, GTA V received great reviews, scoring a perfect grade with many reviewers. For example, it’s been rated as a 10/10 by Edge and IGN, and holds a high 97/100 on Metacritic. Within the first 24 hours of its release, the game sold over 11 million copies, almost doubling the expectations. GTA V was also the fastest selling entertainment product in the entire history, reaching one billion dollars worth of sales in just 3 days. So far the game has sold roughly 65 million copies over all the systems its been released for, and is still being purchased on a daily basis.

3) Wii Sports (83 Million)

We already mentioned Wii Sports at our no. 7 entry, and here it finally is. The game is by far the best-selling Wii title, and was one of the launch titles for the popular console. Wii Sports is a collection of 5 mini games that were designated to show off the Wii Remote’s motion sensor functions. The game got great reviews for its originality and gameplay, and was praised by fans. It’s worth nothing that this is the best-selling game that is only being sold on a single platform. As of the first quarter of this year, the game sold close to 83 million copies and had two sequels made after it.

2) Minecraft (107 Million)

Probably the best known modern video game, Minecraft, was first released in 2011, and has since then made its way to a total of 16 platforms. The game’s premise is pretty simple, but it is very complex to fully grasp. If you are one of the 4 people on Earth who haven’t played or seen it, Minecraft is a sandbox game in which you can explore the world and build pretty much everything in it. If we were to cover all of the aspects of the game, it would take this entire article only to list them, so we’ll just say that Minecraft enables you to build whatever you want within the game’s world, and much more. Thanks to its originality at the time, Minecraft quickly rose to the status of the best-selling PC game ever and the second best-selling video game of all time.

1) Tetris (495 Million)

By a large margin, Tetris is the best-selling and likely the best known video game of all time. Ask your 80-year-old grandma and your 5-year-old cousin, and everyone in-between them – it’s guaranteed that everyone will know what Tetris is. Most of us have probably played a version on Tetris on PCs, mobile phones or consoles. The very first version of Tetris was released all the way back in 1984 and since then, there have been hundreds of different versions across many platforms. Up until this day, decades after its release, Tetris is the king of video games and is holding its top position firmly.

Best Selling Games By Console

What is Monster Hunter?

Monster Hunter is a franchise of games that was first published and released by Capcom in 2004. Throughout the years the game has made several improvements but the core gameplay has always been the same. You play as a hunter in a fantasy environment and venture out into the world to both capture and kill various types of monsters. While it is an RPG, it’s not like traditional RPGs where the player is able to choose classes and level up. Instead, the player is able to choose from a wide variety of weapons to cater to their needs. These weapons vary from giant swords that are powerful but slow, and small daggers that are weaker but faster. The farther you get into the game, the more powerful your weapon will become.

There are also other things you can do outside of hunting monsters, such as doing odd jobs like fishing or insect hunting for small rewards. And the best part being that a lot of these things can be done online with friends.

If you’re looking to get into the series, you can’t go wrong with Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate. It’s one of the most popular Nintendo 3DS games and based on reviews and my own personal experience, it’s a great time sinker. There are also other titles available on both the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii.

Top Five Games like Monster Hunter – 2018 List

#5 – Gods Eater: Burst (PlayStation Portable)

Gods Eater: Burst is an action role-playing game that was both developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and was released in 2010 in Japan and the following year for American audiences. The game takes place a few decades in the future, where the world is being overrun by deadly creatures known as Aragami. They have been terrorizing the world for some time, so much so that a new military agency known as Fenrir Far East Branch has been tasked with defeating them. This branch takes on the Aragami using specialized weapons, giving them the nickname “God Eaters”.

You join this branch as the main character, which you are able to customize completely. After deciding upon which name you want to be known as, you are then assigned to change their hair, skin color, voice and face to how you see fit. Originally your character is unemployed but you decide to join the Fenrir Far East Branch under a man named Lindow, the leader of the first unit. Throughout the game you defeat these monsters and by doing so, you improve your overall skills. One of these skills includes a form called “Burst Mode” in which you devour an Aragami and temporarily gain their powers.

While the game seems rather basic, the story eventually begins to unfold and over time you realize that not everyone claims to be who they say they are.

Gods Eater has gone on to sell rather well in the United States but not as much as it has in Japan. A remake of the game was planned and released in Japan in 2015. Currently it is being translated for American audiences and is set to release later on this year. If you want to learn more about God Eater I’d recommend waiting until the remake, which is titled Gods Eater: Resurrection. The game will be featured on the PlayStation 4 as well as the PlayStation Vita.

#4 – Bloodborne (PlayStation 4)

If you’re a huge fan of the Dark Souls or Demon’s Souls games then you are really going to enjoy Bloodborne. While it is not directly related to the game in any way, it was made by the same company which made the Souls franchise and has taken key elements from those games and applied it to Bloodborne. The first incarnation of the game began back in 2012 under the codename Project Beast when a representative from Sony approached Hidetaka Miyazaki, lead director of FromSoftware. He exclaimed that Sony wanted a new IP that is similar to Dark Souls but exclusive for the PlayStation 4. Miyazaki agreed and got to work. Bloodborne is a very gothic game and takes inspiration from the Victorian Era in England, as well as being inspired by the horror fiction novels of H.P. Lovecraft.

The game begins with the player being able to fully customize their character, known as “The Hunter”. While the game starts off in first-person mode, it eventually changes to that of third-person perspective mode and retains that mode throughout the remainder of the game. Your Hunter lives in the world of Yharnam which has been completely overtaken by a plague which turns its citizens into disgusting creatures. Equipped with one melee and one ranged weapon, your Hunter is tasked with visiting other areas around the world in hopes of finding a remedy called Paleblood, all the while killing the creatures around Yharnam in hopes of stopping the source of the plague.

Gameplay is very similar to Monster Hunter in that you’re essentially hunting monsters in third-person perspective. Along the way you are able to acquire new weapons and level your character up using Blood Echoes. Not only are Blood Echoes used as experience points but they double as currency. Littered around Yharnam are various lanterns which the player may use to enter The Hunter’s Dream, which is a sanctuary of sorts and is the only safe location in the entire game. The downside to entering The Hunter’s Dream is that all enemies will respawn when you enter it, so be careful.

Bloodborne was finally released last March, 2015. The game received a tremendous amount of high praise so if you’re looking for a more difficult version of Monster Hunter, give this game a shot.

#3 – Soul Sacrifice (PlayStation Vita)

Just like the title suggests, Soul Sacrifice is all about saving or sacrificing. When the game begins, the player becomes enslaved by a powerful, but evil sorcerer who goes by the name Magusar. This sorcerer is set and ready to execute you, when a mysterious talking book named Librom comes out of nowhere and rescues you. The book itself is filled with stories of Magusar’s many encounters with powerful monsters. By entering this book you are able to experience these battles, thus gaining the knowledge it takes to defeat Magusar once and for all.

Combat is central to the game and is just like in Monster Hunter, is displayed in third-person perspective. Because the character is reliving moments of Magusar’s life, you essentially are a sorcerer yourself. You are given party members who accompany you through battle and using upon their death you can choose to revive them (which take half your life) or sacrifice them, which deals map-wide damage to all enemies on screen. You are also able to sacrifice parts of your own body to create devastating attacks to enemies. These sacrifices remain permanent and cause the player to gain a status effect, depending on which body part was sacrificed. Because of its permanent nature, these attacks are limited although you are able to restore yourself thanks in large part to Librom.

If you connect to PlayStation Network while playing Soul Sacrifice you are able to do certain missions, called Avalon Quests with your online or real-life friends. Your friends join your party in which if they are killed you can choose to save or sacrifice them. If you do happen to sacrifice them they receive bonus points and enter a spectator mode, where they are still able to aid you in battle.

Reception for Soul Sacrifice was strong and throughout the year of 2013 it became one of the most downloaded games for the PlayStation Vita, topping more than 300,000 copies sold. A sequel is also in the works but not much in known at this point.

#2 – Dragomon Hunter (PC)

Dragomon Hunter is an anime-styled massively multiple online role playing game (MMORPG) that was released via Aeria Games official website and on Steam in December 2015. Because of its anime style, characters and monsters are very chibi and cute like. Players are able to play the game using one of four classes:

Cleric – Clerics are the healers of the game. Using a mighty hammer you are able to unlock several different light and prayer skills.

Mage – Mages are the magic users that are able to wield powerful staves or hunting horns to harness their abilities. Magic attacks range between arcane abilities to sonic abilities, depending on which weapon you choose.

Mercenary – Mercenaries are like tanks. They wield ferocious great swords or battle axes and storm to the front lines of battle to take on swarms of Dragomon. You are also able to learn several skills to help aid you in battle and make you stronger.

Scout – Scouts are the swift classes in the game. While they have access to dual blades for close quarter combat they also have rifles which can shoot down enemies from a distance.

After choosing your class you enter the world of Wyveria and become a Dragomon Hunter. Dragomon are a type of creature which inhabit this estranged world. They possess incredible powers and fallen Dragomon have been known to drop a rare crystal called Dragocite. These crystals are used for economical purposes so the more Dragocite you have, the more currency you are in control of. Battles are done in third-person perspective with the player easily being able to run up to a Dragomon and start fighting. Similar to Monster Hunter, the player is able to capture Dragomon. Capturing Dragomon is more interesting in Dragomon Hunter as you are able to fully tame your beast and ride it around.

#1 – Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (PlayStation 4 / PlayStation Vita)

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is very similar to Monster Hunter in many ways and is my personal favorite game so far this year. The player begins by choosing to be a male or female and enter the world of EDEN, which is a world made purely out of digital data. After witnessing what is allegedly a ghost, you are taken on a mission to escape the area you’re in. You come into contact with creatures known as Digimon who are being attacked by something called an Eater. You meet up with your friends to help save the two Digimon and wind up being attacked by the Eater. One small touch by an Eater can completely mess up your DNA so your body is sent through the ringer and you end up essentially becoming a digital ghost yourself. Because of this, you are granted specific powers which enable you to traverse between the real world and the digital world without problem. You end up meeting a detective who needs your powers to help save other people. You agree and join her agency as a cyber sleuth.

The game then continues on with the player going on missions for the detective agency and along the way you are able to enter digital fields where you meet enemy Digimon. While fighting in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is slightly different than it is in Monster Hunter, (with the player having partner monsters doing all the fighting) it is still done in third-person perspective. When you fight enemy Digimon you are able to scan their encoded digital DNA and after enough battles you can bring the Digimon back to life via your computer and raise it as your own.

There are over 200 unique Digimon at your disposal, so long as you meet the requirements to evolve them. It really is a great game that only recently came out but since then has become one of the top most downloaded PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita games. There is also another Digimon game that was released in Japan called Digimon World: Next Order which I’m really hoping gets an English release.

That’s it for the top five games like Monster Hunter. I really hope you enjoyed the list and if you’re looking for similar games, hopefully you found one that suits your needs.

Pool Billiards Pro, developed by TerranDroid, is a free-to-play virtual pool game for pool lovers, where you can challenge other players around the world or challenge yourself in Time mode and Arcade mode.

8 Ball Mode

The objective in this mode is to pocket all your balls (be it striped or solid balls), and then pocket the eight ball. The player who does this first is declared the winner. The first ball pocketed in the break will determine which player has stripes or solids. For example, When the player pockets a stripe ball first, then that player will pocket all of the remaining striped balls and vice versa.

As long as that player keeps pocketing balls, his/her turn continues. But if a player misses his/her shot, didn’t pocket the corresponding ball, or the cue ball (white ball) sinks in the pocket, the other player’s turn starts. Remember that solid balls are numbers 1-7 and striped balls are 9-15. The eight ball must be pocketed last, and pocketing the eight ball before then counts as an automatic loss.

9 Ball Mode

In this mode, whoever pockets the 9 ball is the winner. A player must hit the ball with the lowest number first that is on the table before hitting any other balls. Pocketing the cue ball, not hitting the the ball with the lowest number in a break, hitting a different ball, or not hitting a ball at all is considered a foul and the other player’s turn begins. That player can choose to put the cue ball wherever they want in the table. An exception to this rule would be playing combinations and hitting the ball with the lowest number to the other ball.

Single Player: VS & Time Mode in Pool Billiards Pro

There are two types of modes in this selection: Vs Mode and Time Mode.

In Vs Mode, there are two categories:

Vs. Computer – Pretty self explanatory. You battle against a computer A.I. in 8 ball or 9 ball format.

Two Players – You share the same mobile device with your friend to play against each other in 8 ball or 9 ball format.

In Time Mode, there are also two categories:

Practice – A free-for-all mode where there is no time limit, and you can pocket any ball you want without penalty. Perfect for honing your virtual pool skills.

Challenge – This is a timed mode where a player must pocket all balls (in no particular order) before time runs out. A player will be given two minutes to pocket all the balls. Each ball pocketed gives a player extra 50 seconds of time in eight ball format and 30 seconds in 9 ball format.

Play Online in Pool Billiards Pro

The object here is to pocket the balls in six hits or less to finish the level. You gain stars and score points as you finish a level. If you hit the ball and did not pocket it, you lose one cue point, and if you did not hit the ball at all or the cue ball is pocketed, you lose two cue points. There are three continue chances if you fail to sink the ball in six hits or less, but keep in mind that you only have three continue chances to play again.

If you ran out of continue chances, you can purchase it via in-app store. Here are the in-app prices and the number of continue chances you will get:

Pool Billiards Pro Tips

You can change the pool table in settings from green, blue, red, or gray.

You can also change your cue sticks in settings, and there are five cue sticks to choose from.

You can change the computer’s A.I. level from easy, normal, and hard in settings.

Do not use more power that is suitable for a given shot.

Deal with the problem ball or balls and break out clusters as early as possible.

To perform a stop shot, tap the “cue ball aim” located at the lower middle of your screen and tap the center portion of the cue ball. The farther the cue ball from the object ball, the lower you need to tap the cue ball. If you tap the cue ball too low, it will perform a draw shot. And if you tap the cue ball too high, it will perform a follow shot.

You cannot choose your opponent in Online Play mode. Player selection is random. Also, you cannot choose which format to play (8 balls or 9 balls).

You can turn on “Aim Guideline” in settings to help you see where your object ball will go once you hit it.
