Gina Cotroneo is an inspirational woman who, after experiencing a series of traumatizing events, aspired to create a company that would help aid in the mental and emotional recovery of abuse victims. Before the incident that shook up her entire life, Gina was a 30 year old woman who on her way to becoming married and worked successfully as an art director for one of Dallas’ advertising agency. She was an optimistic woman who kept her head held high and maintained a sunny disposition. That was, until June 19, 1997. Cotroneo’s world was spun completely upside down when she was attacked by 31 year old Gary Faison. He broke into her apartment and sexually abused her, leaving both physical and emotional scars in his wake. Before Gina’s attack there had been a handful of other reported abuse cases from that area, but it was not until case that the police were able to catch the serial offender.

During Faison’s trial, Cotroneo entered therapy and testified against her attacker. During this time, her budding relationship quickly withered and the wedding bells were no longer in her sights. In addition to the break up, Gina also lost her job and began to struggle with her religious beliefs and faith in God.

As a way to help her healing process, she began to speak openly about her rape and encouraged other women to speak out as well. Gina spoke out on numerous talk shows and her story was published in a few magazines as well. It was during this extremely difficult journey in her life that she came up with the concept for Soul’s Calling Inc.

Five years after her attack, Gina was finally capable of seeing how her horrible experience actually changed her in a way that made her a stronger person. Through the help of friends, therapy, and her speaking out, she came up with the idea to create a line of Soul’s Calling inspirational products. Her goal was to create a line of items that had motivational and inspirational phrases inscribed on them to help comfort people who were struggling with any sort of hardships that they faced during their lifetime.

Being someone who could relate to this kind of emotional damage, Cotroneo hoped that her company would get her “plan for world happiness” a little further along in its journey. She was approached by various retailers who wanted to feature her products in their stores, but she found that manufacturing a reasonably priced product was rather difficult.

Being a small business, Gina was only capable of buy a small amount of each product that she needed at a time which caused her product cost to spike higher than anticipated. So, in order to get the money to efficiently run her new business, she took to the reality show Shark Tank.

Soul’s Calling On Shark Tank

Her portion of the episode begins with her telling the audience about her warming mission to keep people at their happiest, which then stands in stark contrast to the tensely professional atmosphere maintained by the sharks. Gina introduces herself and states her starting price at $150k for a 25% equity of her company.

Then she goes on to explain that her products are gifts and accessories that contain both positive messages and energy within them. The sharks appear to be wary of her pitch but she continues on with her speech and attempts to make her idea for spreading positivity seem marketable. Inspirella is the first product she introduces, which is a brightly colored umbrella that has some cheery phrase printed onto it.

Each of the sharks begin smiling as she goes around and gives them each a bracelet that is supposed to promote the idea that everyone is connected. Finally, she ends her presentation with flip flops that leave words in the sand.

Kevin O’Leary is the first shark to speak up to ask her about what her sales look like. For the past two years she made $11k and $18k and those low numbers visibly startle the sharks. Though they are impressed with her knowledge on numbers, they are just so low that they are having a hard time biting on her idea.

Barbara Corcoran asks how much of Cotroneo’s own money was invested into Soul’s Calling, which she finds out to be close to $100k. O’Leary questions why it is so important to her that the business keeps going when it has created so much loss for her. With so much money going out of her pocket it would seem like a good idea to discontinue the business, but Cotroneo comments that this business is “a part of her mission on the planet”.

Robert Herjavec finally jumps in to see whether Gina sees Soul’s Calling Inc. as an actual business or a personal business and this is where she beings floundering. Though she has absolute faith in her company and believes that happiness is a profitable business, it is clear that the sharks do not exactly see the same image that she is.

They begin to speak numbers and how a $150k buy-in for a 25% stake in her company would value her company at about $600k and O’Leary states that “money has no soul” and that he “never lets emotion get in the way of investing”.

Overall, her business was not deemed worthy of the price she was asking for. In fact, O’Leary harshly stated that Soul’s Calling Inc. was worth $0. Following his lead, each of the other sharks pulls out and does not invest in her company.

Soul’s Calling After Shark Tank – 2026 Update

When Soul’s Calling appeared on Shark Tank, they were hoping to secure investment for their inspiring and meaningful jewelry line. Their mission was not just to sell beautiful accessories, but also to empower women and encourage them to follow their life’s passion. So what exactly happened to Soul’s Calling after Shark Tank?

Immediately after the show aired, the company experienced a significant boost in sales and website traffic. Appearing on Shark Tank helped them reach a wider audience, allowing more people to connect with the brand’s mission and vision.

However, gaining investment from the ‘sharks’ wasn’t as straightforward. Despite the initial interest from several sharks, they ultimately did not receive an investment offer. This might have been a setback for some, but not for Soul’s Calling.

Instead of dwelling on the missed investment opportunity, Soul’s Calling leveraged the exposure they received from the show to further propel their business. They expanded their product line, adding more unique pieces that continued to resonate with their target market.

They also focused on forging partnerships with other like-minded businesses and non-profit organizations. One such partnership was with a non-profit that works to empower women in developing countries by providing them with job opportunities.

Not only that but they also remained true to their mission of inspiring and empowering women. They launched a series of workshops and coaching sessions aimed at helping women discover their true passion and purpose in life. These sessions became popular and were instrumental in further establishing the brand’s image.

In the end, the company continued to operate until 2012, when Cotroneo liquidated the company to move on to other projects. As of 2026, she works as a freelance creative director and marketeer in the Dallas, Texas area.

The post Soul’s Calling 2026 Update – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Pinch Me Therapy Dough Before Shark Tank

Pinch Me Therapy Dough was founded by Nancy Rothner in 2014. Prior to creating Pinch Me Therapy Dough, Nancy was a professional Clinical Hypnotherapist at her firm, Coastal Hypnotherapy. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Nancy gained extensive knowledge in stress reduction and she worked with many people, helping them tackle their daily stress and anxiety in many ways. Shortly after, Nancy spent her time volunteering at a domestic abuse shelter. At this shelter, she was helping abuse victims learn to manage their stress and anxiety daily.

Nancy’s time volunteering at the domestic abuse shelter had shown her exactly how much the mind and body are affected by the tension of stress and anxiety. And it was that realization that brought her to want to create a means of stress reduction. One that people could have at their reach anytime and anywhere. Given that, she began brainstorming ideas.

She knew she wanted the tool to be simple, fun, and relaxing for its consumers. Having worked with clients suffering from stress and anxiety, Nancy was aware of fidget toys and how effective they were at relieving the tension of stress and anxiety. After much thought and planning, Nancy ended up combining the idea of a fidget toy with sensory techniques such as color, texture, and scent, creating Pinch Me Therapy Dough.

Pinch Me Therapy Dough is essentially a putty-like dough that has been created with different colors, textures, and scents to calm the mind. It’s also great for keeping one’s hands busy, which has been proven to relieve muscle tension as well as relax the mind. Pinch Me Therapy Dough is available on the company website and comes in a wide variety of different colors and scents. Just a few of those varieties are Ocean, Melon, Citrus, Bumbleberry, and Bliss, as well as many, many more.

After launching Pinch Me Therapy Dough, Nancy struggled quite a bit to get the business going; however, that didn’t stop her; it only made her more determined. Fortunately for Nancy, her hard work paid off. She began introducing the therapy dough at multiple retail trade shows, where she had the opportunity to draw attention to the product and tell interested customers all about it. This drastically helped the business start-up. In fact, Pinch Me Therapy Dough won the American Music Awards and, in 2019, reached a profit of $584,000 and $1.95 million in sales. Although Nancy’s business is doing well, she wants to take her chances on Shark Tank.

Pinch Me Therapy Dough on Shark Tank

Nancy Rothner introduced Pinch Me Therapy Dough on Shark Tank in search of $300,000 for a 70% equity in the company. During her pitch, Nancy introduced the product to the sharks and explained to them that each jar of the dough costs $4.50 to make and sells for $14.99 each. Nancy went on to explain her background in hypnotherapy, as well as her time volunteering at the domestic abuse shelter. She mentioned that, given how effective a calming method as such brings to a client, she thought creating this company was a no-brainer.

As far as the marketing side of Pinch Me Therapy Dough goes, Nancy told the sharks that the company has gained $5.3 million in overall sales; a number in which she expects to continue growing larger. So far, the sharks liked what she was saying, as well as the product and the scents available. But do they like the product enough to invest? Let’s see.

Right away, Lori chimes in to say that she believes that Nancy has done a great job with the business; however, she does think that Nancy needs someone to handle the marketing aspect for her. Given that, Lori would not be the one to invest in the company. Robert and Kevin, on the other hand, jump right in and present their offers. In fact, they both offered Nancy $300,000 for a 25% equity in Pinch Me Therapy Dough. While that offer is fairly good and could help her business, Nancy tries to counter the offer.

Interrupting Nancy, Daymond chimes in to offer her $300,000 for a 20% equity in her company. This led Robert to lower his equity offer down to 20% as well. Not long after that, Nancy seemed to jump at that offer pretty quickly as she was hoping that she would get a deal with Robert. Overall, Nancy accepted Robert’s deal for $300,000 for a 20% equity in Pinch Me Therapy Dough.

Pinch Me Therapy Dough Now in 2026 – The After Shark Tank Update

Following her successful appearance on Shark Tank and getting a deal with the shark she had hoped for, Robert Herjavec, Nancy and her Pinch Me Therapy Dough business seems to be up and running successfully. After the episode aired, Nancy and Robert started working together to get the therapy dough onto more shelves in stores, as well as expanding the company online. With many amazing 5-star reviews and positive feedback from customers, the company has become more popular.

Pinch Me Therapy Dough actually ended up launching a new product, scented mist sprays, which can be found on the Pinch Me Therapy Dough website, along with many other items. Also, Nancy decided to include an option for free returns and a $100 gift on first orders. In addition to that, the company was featured in Forbes, The Guardian, and Good Morning America gift guide articles.

Although there have been a few times where sales started to drop or they weren’t increasing as Nancy had hoped; however, she came up with a great solution for that. Nancy would include a jar of her Pinch Me Therapy Dough in gift bags that were then given to celebrities at the American Music Awards. Turns out, her idea to include the dough in gift bags really worked out well; shortly after, a representative from the retail website, The Gourmet, had met up with her. The representative ended up featuring her product on their website, which in turn gave Nancy’s company a great deal of attention. Based on these successes, it’s safe to say that Nancy really has created a successful, popular product for others.

The post Pinch Me Therapy Dough After Shark Tank – 2026 Update appeared first on Gazette Review.

Before Shark Tank

Shelly Ehler is a woman who took a simple idea and turned it into a new business venture. A lot of great products on the market were created by people who noticed an everyday issue and invented a new, simple product to fix it. The same could be said for Shelly. When families take their children to the beach, finding a convenient place to get changed into and out of bathing suits can be difficult. That’s where Shelly’s product the ShowNo comes in handy. The ShowNo is basically a towel that has a slit in the center of it, which is where your child’s head is supposed to go through. The rest of the towel drapes around your child’s body which allows them to be covered while they change out of their wet clothes. Not only that, but it’s also just a fun new product that will keep your kids dry at the beach, pool, and even during bath time.

Despite starting the business on her own and obtaining some success with it since the beginning, Shelly wants to take things further with the ShowNo. She wants to supply her product to water parks and amusement parks to really jump start sales and get her brand’s name out there. However, she is going to need some help with attaining that goal. Hoping to find help in one of the Sharks, Shelly took her ShowNo to ABC’s Shark Tank.

During Shark Tank

Ehler entered the Shark Tank seekings a $50k investment in exchange for 25% equity in her business. She brought her two sons with her to help present her pitch to the Sharks. The idea for ShowNo came to Ehler one day when she and her sons were at the pool. Her oldest son wanted to get changed into his dry clothes, so he asked his mom to hold up a towel for him so he could stay covered while he got changed. While her oldest son was getting changed, her youngest started to get impatient and in the midst of her frustration, Ehler got an idea. She then took a towel and cut a slit in it, creating a new sort of towel poncho that would keep kids covered while they got changed. After explaining her story, Ehler then had her sons hand out custom made ShowNo’s that they brought for each of the Sharks to have.

Once her sons left the Shark Tank, Ehler began to explain that it isn’t just money that she was looking for. What she really wanted was a mentor of sorts. Each of the Sharks have taken simple ideas and turned them into million dollar businesses. It is her belief that together, she and one of the Sharks could really turn her ShowNo business into something great and successful.

Lori Greiner was the first Shark to speak up. She asked Ehler where she has been making these ShowNo’s. For the most part, the majority of her products are made inside her house. And what she likes most about her own product is that when you lay the ShowNo down, the slit closes up and you have a whole towel that will keep sand out of the center of it. In this way it is extremely different from the towel poncho’s the Robert Herjavec says that he’s seen on the market. She even has a patent on the design of her product, which she got by trading custom made drapes to her former neighbor who also happened to be a patent attorney.

After receiving the patent, Ehler then came up with the idea of selling these towels to water parks. Each of the towels could be custom made and have the name of the park printed on the collar of the ShowNo, which Herjavec thought was a brilliant idea. So far she’s made accounts with Lego Land in California and Six Flags Magic Mountain. The towels have been very popular in these parks and she sells them in bulk for $9 dollars each. At retail locations, they are sold for $19.99, which is a great profit margin when she makes them for only $6 dollars. In total, ShowNo has sold around $15k worth of units.

The Sharks did’t appear to be too thrilled with the amount of her total sales and Kevin O’Leary was the first to let her know why. According to him, her business is very seasonal and she would have to spend all her money on manufacturing the towels in bulk and hope that each of the units were sold in order to make a decent profit. He decided that he did not like seasonality of her business and decided not to give her an investment. Ehler said that at first she did believe that the ShowNo was going to be seasonal, but she later realized that her product also doubles as the perfect bath towel that children love to use. In addition to that, if she supplied 50 water parks with her towels and the sold 20 a day, after three months she would have made almost a million dollars. This is something that she believes is very doable.

Herjavec admitted that he admires her energy and passion about her business, but unfortunately he wasn’t so inspired by the product itself. He really couldn’t see the ShowNo making that many sales, so he too didn’t end up investing into her business. Mark Cuban asked her what she would do if she was put in a situation that called for her to leave her family during a birthday in order to attend a business meeting, and she told the Sharks that she would attend the meeting because her family knows that she loves them unconditionally. In addition to that, her family also realizes how important this opportunity would be because both she and her husband were hit hard during the recession. They both lost their jobs and were forced to sell their homes and move. Becoming successful with her business is crucial, so going away on business would not be a problem for her.

Ehler could understand this, but she revealed that she had a call in with Disney amusement parks and she was going to work extremely hard to make sure she landed a deal with them. Happy with that news, John decided to offer her $50k in exchange for 50% of her business. However, Greiner wanted to put a counter offer on the table. She could see so much of herself in Ehler that she decided to write a check for $50k right there in the Shark Tank in exchange for the original 25% equity. All she asked was that Ehler keep her passion about the business and that she work with Greiner to get the ShowNo sold in every single water park there is in the United States.

Ehler was extremely excited and ready to accept Greiner’s offer, but John jumped back in to offer her the $50k for a 20% stake in the company. That’s not the only twist that happened though. Cuban takes his turn to offer her $75k for 25% because he believes that her business is worth more than what she asked for. Greiner tried to convince Ehler that she is the best person to strike a deal with because she has connections with QVC and she is also a women, so they “speak the same language”, but John counter argued that he has multiple connections with retail locations such as Bed Bath & Beyond and JCPenny’s. In addition to that, he also decided to instead offer her $75k for still only 20% of her business. Greiner also decided to match the $75k, but still wanted 25% of ShowNo.

With so many offers on the table, Ehler asked to step outside to speak with her husband for a minute before making a decision. While Ehler spoke to her husband, O’Leary made it very clear that he thought all of the other Sharks who put and offer on the table were being foolish because he didn’t believe that this was a product worth putting money into. When Ehler stepped back into the Shark Tank, she made her final decision to accept Greiner’s offer over John’s and Cuban’s.

ShowNo After Shark Tank – 2026 Update

Following their appearance on Shark Tank, they were able to bring ShowNo to the Today Show. Thanks to that, their products quickly sold out. If anything, they were incredibly popular throughout the summer season.

They also managed to secure a deal with Disney, where they’d provide towels for their water parks. Allegedly, one of their employees, who’d been seeking new merchandise for the parks, happened to be on set that day while they were filming Shark Tank. As far as we can tell, however, they only lasted for a short time as Disney chose not to renew the contract.

That’s not all, they also distributed the towels to other water parks throughout the country. In fact, it was their main source of income. At their peak, they sold 20 towels a day across 50 water parks, each of which went for $19.99.

Despite that, the company eventually threw in the towel (no pun intended) in 2015. Not only was the business seasonal, which limited their revenue, but they also had limited capital (no further investments were made following Shark Tank). That’s not all, demand was also limited as the poncho-style towels were only for small children. As a result, it was difficult to rise the business to a large scale.

At one point, they had come out with a new iteration of the product that’s designed to help the elderly and those with disabilities, but it never really took off.

As of 2026, SharkNo is no longer in business. Their website is offline and their social media pages haven’t been updated for several years.

What’s Shelly up to now? She now runs a new business called, All Blown Up, which makes lifesize cutouts, posters, and banners. They were even featured on the Today Show several years back. For those who are interested, you can check out their website here.

The post Show No 2026 Update – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Maddie Bradshaw has always been a very creative girl. She is a very hands on kind of person who enjoys investing a great deal of her time into arts and crafts. This passion is what ultimately fueled her idea for M3 Girl Designs. When Maddie was just 10 years old, she started out by simply making magnets for her school locker out of bottle caps. At first it was just her friends who wanted to join in on the new trend, but later the demand for her creative bottle cap accessories expanded. The rapidly growing popularity of her magnets pushed Maddie to get even more creative with this concept. M3 Girl Designs later began to produce jewelry products that incorporate bottle caps, such as necklaces, hair ribbons, and many other products.

Of course Maddie wasn’t the only one running her new business. Maddie’s mother, Diane, obviously helped to support the business financially and her little sister, Margot, was always there to help make the merchandise. These three women worked incredibly hard to make something out of M3 Girl Designs, but because neither of them knew much about marketing or even running a business, it seemed like a smart idea to find an investor who did. That was why Diane took her two girls and their business to the Shark Tank

During Shark Tank

The three Bradshaw women enter the Shark Tank and begin by stating their listing price of a $300k investment in exchange for 15% of the M3 Girl Designs company. Then Maddie steps up to the plate to explain where this jewelry business came from and what it’s all about. As mentioned earlier, Maddie tells them that she originally got the idea for M3 when she wanted magnets for her locker. When she couldn’t find anything that really fit her style, she took bottle caps from her uncle’s old Coca Cola machine and used those to create magnets. The designs inside the caps are all her own artwork that she places inside of them, and then she simply stuck a magnet onto the back of the bottle cap.

It didn’t take long for her friends to notice and eventually their enthusiasm over them brought Maddie to believe that she had invented something that was worth expanding. That was when she created “snap caps” which are magnetic pendants for necklaces that can easily be switched out or replaced. Margot hands out samples to the Sharks while Maddie tells them that the owner of a local toy store in Texas agreed to sell these bottle caps and necklaces. Within two hours of having them in stock, they were all sold out.

However, since Maddie is 15 years old now, and apparently more sophisticated in her style, she handed down the Snap Cap jewelry line to Margot while she went on to create the Spark of Life line. This new line of jewelry consists of adjustable necklaces and bracelets that are made out of neutrally colored beads and brightly colored heart or peace sign pendants. M3 Girl Designs have been selling their products for approximately 5 years and are now supplying around 1000 stores in total. During these 5 years they managed to make around $6 million in sales, but during the last year alone they made $1.6 million.

So basically, Maddie is a 15 year old millionaire, and her talent doesn’t stop there either. She actually authored a book titled Maddie Bradshaw’s You Can Start a Business, Too! which is a book about encouraging young people to chase their dreams and to not be afraid of starting their own business, because they are perfectly capable of doing it. While Margot passes out copies of the book, Robert Herjavec asks how they were able to start supplying 1000 retail stores. Maddie explains that it all started through word of mouth really. After they started selling in the first couple of stores, other places started approached them with business deals. Then they eventually received enough attention to hire a sales representative to help them expand even further.

Fast forward to a couple years later, they now have around 10 sales representatives and still continue to make all of the products handmade at their office in Texas. Lori Greiner points out that the Snap Cap line is what made M3 Girl Designs a multi-million dollar company, but Diane speaks up to say that they are not a one hit wonder, but rather a growing business. That is why they want to branch out and make a new mature line for kids closer to Maddie’s current age. Greiner also points out that it has recently become difficult to sell jewelry within the current economy, but this doesn’t prove to be an issue because their most expensive item sells for around $10 dollars.

Moving on, Herjavec is curious as to why Maddie needs the money when she has already made a million dollars off the company. With the $300k, she wants to begin distributing the products globally in addition to using this new partnership as an opportunity to take M3 Girl Designs to the next level on the market. Kevin O’Leary is the first Shark to put an offer on the table. He is willing to give them the $300k, but wants 30% of the company. Immediately after he makes this offer, Greiner decides that she will go in on the deal with him so long as he becomes a silent partner, their stake in the company is bumped up to 40%, and that the girls allow her to mentor them. She wants to introduce them to QVC and teach them how to become successful business women. Get one-to-one writing help from custom essay writing service ThePensters.com

Before they think too much about that particular offer, the girls want to hear what the other Sharks might want to put out on the table. Daymond John is known for his business in fashion, but he doesn’t believe that he could really be of any help to them, so he decides to drop out. Mark Cuban then takes his turn to make an offer. He wants to go into a deal with Greiner, because he believes that she has a lot of useful assets, and together they will give the girls $300k in exchange for 30%. This new deal is definitely better than the last one, but Herjavec hits the nail on the head when he says Maddie’s lack of enthusiasm stems from having to give away 30% of her business. Even though he is the one to point this out, Herjavec ultimately agrees to go in on a deal with O’Leary that is identical to the deal that Cuban and Greiner made.

After some brief discussion, it is decided that they want to go in on a deal with Herjavec, Greiner, and Cuban, but they want to lower the stake in the business to 20%. At first Maddie says that there is no going higher than that, but when the Sharks say it’s too low a percentage, she changes her mind. The Sharks can have the 30% so long as they are all free to go to Mavericks games whenever they want. Without even really thinking about it, Cuban accepts this deal and all three of the Sharks go shake hands with the Bradshaw ladies.

M3 Girl Designs Now In 2026

Business exploded after their segment aired on television. They also started making bottle caps that could be inserted into bracelets, necklaces, hair bows, journals, and note cards.

Maddie also published a book titled, You Can Start a Business Too, in which she covers various business-related topics. As of 2026, it has a 4.1-star rating on Amazon and a 4.7-star rating on Goodreads.

Maddie Bradshaw’s how-to book received positive reviews upon its release

Not everything worked out as planned, however. For one thing, the deal with the sharks was never finalized. In 2013, they also found themselves involved in a number of lawsuits relating to trademark infringement. One of the companies that sued was Blue Brownies. In response, M3 Girl Design made some changes to its claims. Despite that, the judge and jury sided with the other party.

Unfortunately, the lawsuits took their toll and M3 Girl Designs ended up closing in 2015. Their social media pages also haven’t been updated since the summer of 2014. The timing worked, however, as that allowed Maddie to focus her attention on college (she had just gotten into Stanford University at the time). After graduating, she went on to earn a Masters of Education at Harvard University.

Inspirit AI offers live classes taught by MIT and Stanford graduate students

As of 2026, Maddie is a Director of Product at Inspirit AI, a company that provides artificial intelligence education to high students. According to her LinkedIn page, she has been working there since November 2021. Prior to that, she was a design and innovation teacher at Wildwood School, a private K-12 prep school in Los Angeles.

Will M3 Girl Designs be making a comeback anytime soon? Our guess is no. Maddie has obviously moved on with her career. The business wasn’t a complete failure, however. By the time they had closed down, they had made more than $5 million in lifetime sales.

Eric Corti and his wife are two people who like to sit back, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine every now and again. However, they are not the kinds of people who can really finish a whole bottle in one sitting and if there is one thing that all wine drinkers know, it is hard to preserve a bottle once it has been opened. Eric and his wife were both growing tired of letting expensive bottles go to waste, so the pressure was on for Eric to come up with a solution for their problem.

After doing some thinking, Corti came up with the perfect way to save the freshness of a bottle of wine after it has been opened. To test his idea, he took a blood pressure cuff and took it apart. Then he attached a balloon to it and inserted the new device inside the bottle of wine. By filling the balloon with air he created the perfect seal to remove all access oxygen from the bottle. After his wife tested it and confirmed that the wine stayed fresh long enough for her to finish the entire bottle, the couple made the decision to invest into Eric’s idea so that they could launch a new business together.

Though they did managed to make a few sales on their own, the Cortis ultimately decided that they were going to need help if the Wine Balloon was ever going to establish any real success. So they took their product to the Shark Tank and hoped to make a deal with one of the Sharks. That way they would be able to get the financial backing and marketing connections that their business needs.

During Shark Tank – Wine Balloon Investment

Eric Corti entered the Shark Tank seeking $40k in exchange for a 30% stake in his business. After giving the Sharks his offer, he dives into his sales pitch. According to him, there are a lot of people out there who would love to have a glass of wine or two with dinner, but so many decide to pass up on indulging themselves because the rest of the bottle will most likely end up going to waste. Even he and his wife could agree that they have poured a lot more wine down the drain than they have into their wine glasses. The reason for this, he argues, is that all of the wine preservers out there do not do their job properly.

That is where his Wine Balloon comes in. His new way of preserving wine will ensure that any opened bottle of wine will stay fresh long enough for someone to finish the bottle. Eric demonstrates how the product works by inserting the balloon into an opened bottle of wine and he pumps air into it by squeezing the cluster of grapes at the other end of the product. The balloon should be filled up until it touches the inside walls of the glass bottle. It is so airtight that he can even tilt the wine bottle upside down. While doing this, he reveals that only a small little air bubble remains in contact with the wine. And whenever the prospective wine drinker is ready to use the bottle again, all they need to do is twist the little valve on the other end of the Wine Balloon to release the pressure.

Lori Greiner is quick to ask whether or not Eric currently has a patent on this product. Currently it is patent pending, but he hopes that the patent will be accepted soon. Robert Herjavec, on the other hand, wants to have a closer look at the item itself. While Herjavec is testing it out himself, Kevin O’Leary inquires on the type of material that the balloon is made out of. The Wine Balloon is composed of medical grade latex, which has been tested and proved to not change the taste of the wine. In addition to that, it can also preserve the wine for about 3 or 4 days after being opened.

Eric is a man full of ideas who keeps most of his potential inventions written down in a notebook while he’s out doing construction management. So far, this product has been the only one that has come to life and he has invested nearly $65k into it. About 6 months ago they began to sell on a small scale and have since then sold 700 units at $22 dollars retail price. In total, it only costs $6.50 dollars to make, but O’Leary points out that he could be mass producing them for $2.00 each. He decides that he will offer Corti the $40k, but only if he agrees to take his product and sell it to the #1 wine preserver company so that they can collect a royalty on it. However, Greiner has a counteroffer. What she wants to do is to buy him out for $500k.

Corti doesn’t seem so sure about this particular deal, but Mark Cuban chimes in and goes in with Greiner and together they propose a deal of $600k for 100% of his company. Cuban attempts to pressure him into making a hasty decision by telling him that he needs to say yes right now in order to get the deal, but Corti says that he wants a 3% royalty on their sales on top of the $600k. O’Leary applauds him for this, stating that he is “protecting his future”, but both Cuban and Greiner deny him that request. Corti is persistent though, which ultimately pushes Cuban to back out of the offer.

With Cuban out, Greiner decides to switch back over to her original offer. At least until Cuban agrees to go back in with her for $400k instead. Both Daymond John and Herjavec have decided not to invest, which leaves Corti with two offers on the table. With all that pressure going to his head, Eric cracks and decides to sell his entire company to Cuban and Greiner for $400k.

The Wine Balloon Now In 2026 – Recent Update

Eric accepted a $400K royalty deal from Grenier and Cuban but it never went through. After the episode aired, he backed out and decided to market the product on his own instead—and it seems to have worked for him.

He was eventually featured in Food Network’s The Kitchen Inventors, a reality show that follows Patrick Raymond and Steve Greenberg as they travel the Midwest in search of some of the country’s greatest kitchen gadgets. And it just so happened that they loved the Wine Balloon. In fact, they loved it so much, that they offered him a partnership, which Eric accepted. Shortly afterward, they changed the product’s name to “The Air Cork.” They also repackaged the item to make it look more appealing on store shelves.

Since then, The Air Cork has become hugely successful. For one thing, it’s now used by various vineyards and wineries across the country. Not only that but it’s sold in various retail stores as well (you can apply to become a retailer on their official website).

Various colors and styles of the Air Cork are available from their official website

Of course, you can also get it from their official website. Currently, there are three colors available: charcoal, white, and burgundy. There’s also a barrel-shaped version that works exactly the same way and all of them come with a gift box and branded storage bag. All of them go for $28.50 plus tax and they come with free shipping within the US if you purchase more than two. A pack of three spare balloons will also be included with each other. Flat-rate international shipping is also available for overseas customers (the total amount will be calculated during checkout).

The Air Cork has mostly positive reviews on Amazon

Amazon is another option. Currently, they have a 4-star rating across more than 700 reviews. Looking at some of the reviews, most people seem to agree that it works well in preserving wine. With that said, some people have run into issues where the balloon would deflate after a few hours. Still, the general consensus seems positive.

In terms of sales, the company made $7 million in 2021, which is a huge jump from when they were on the show (the company was valued at $133,333 during the pitch). As for Eric Corti, he currently has an estimated net worth of $14 million.

Anyway, for those who are interested, you can check out Air Cork’s website here. You can also follow them on Facebook or Instagram (@aircork_) for the latest news and updates on the product.

The post Wine Balloon 2026 Update – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.

Before Shark Tank

Mike Abbaticchio is a proud redneck American who came up with an idea for a clothing line during one particularly restless night. He wanted to create fashion for men and women who love the outdoors but also want to have a distinct style. It was his vision to create a way for people to proudly display their love and passion for all things country, but it wasn’t until a year after he had this vision that he was able to make his dream become a reality.

Abbaticchio partnered up with Shon Lees and together they brought the Hill Billy Brand to life. The two of them began the business by selling t-shirts out the back of their truck. They sold their merchandise at rodeos, carnivals, concerts, and any other sort of outdoor event. However, what was especially noteworthy was that during the first event they attended, they sold out within the first 4 hours of being there. Abbaticchio and Lees both knew that the Hill Billy Brand had the potential to go places, but they were going to need some help when the new orders started to come in.

Hoping to take their clothing line to the next level, the two men went off in search of a way to get the money the would need in order to grow. It was during their search that they decided to take a gamble and approach the Sharks at ABC’s Shark Tank.

During Shark Tank

Both boys enter the Shark Tank and quickly lay down their asking price of $50k in exchange for a 25% stake in their clothing company. Then they begin to explain how they experimented with different types of businesses together, but nothing really felt right until they created the Hill Billy Brand. It is a common misconception now that the term “hill billy” is a bad thing. Abbaticchio and Lees are there to prove otherwise. According to them, people who love the country have now embraced the label and are proud to adorn it. That is why their clothing line has been so successful at these events that they have been vending at. What they want to do is to encompass the outdoor living lifestyle. So far they have only been selling shirts, tank tops, and hats, but have received various requests for jeans, bathing suits, and even some outdoor equipment. The possibilities are endless. All they need is the proper marketing and financial support.

After Jeff Foxworthy weighs in on what he thinks the difference between redneck and hill billy is, Robert Herjavec gets down to business by asking what kind of sales they have been seeing so far. The Hill Billy Brand has profited around $271k over the duration of the 3 years they have been up and running. Herjavec gives them a small slap on the wrist for this, stating that it is never a good idea to give the sales of mroe than a year because that leads him to believe that their general sales are not that great. He then asks for the sales they have accumulated over the last 12 months, which is revealed to be about $50k. Then Kevin O’Leary inquires on their distribution, which he finds out to be at outdoor events and they usually go to 1 event a month. So far they have no retail locations, but they did just recently sign a deal with Sports Authority, which will supply their clothing in about 30 stores in the Southeast. In addition to that, they also landed a distribution deal with a company that supplies travel plazas and truck stops.

Next to ask questions is Daymond John, who wants to know on what fronts do they own the rights to the word Hill Billy. Their logo and rights to the word extend to the clothing category as of right now and the own 3 trademarks in the United States and 1 in Canada. What Herjavec really wants to know is how they plan to get their name out there because it costs millions of dollars to get the proper advertising needed to create a nationally known clothing brand. The Hill Billy Boys argue that they have closely aligned themselves with the country music industry and typically whenever they are attending a concert, their shirts sell out more quickly than that of the artist or band that are playing. Generally they can sell around $10k worth of clothing at any large venue concert.

Foxworthy then brings up the issue of the prices they have to pay to be able to sell at these venues. It can cost anywhere between $100 dollars to $1000 dollars to be able to enter these concerts and rodeos, and in total, they only make around $7k in profit. As a result of this, Abbaticchio and Lees have not been able to pay themselves for their work and instead have needed to invest the money back into the company. With the $50k they are asking for, the money would be used to attend trading shows so that they could get their brand out there and also to expand their trademark into other countries. However, they have thought about licensing deals. So far they have one in Canada with a record company that is going to be packaging their brand along with the different artists that are signed to the label.

The idea of having licensing deals and making money off of their name brand definitely felt like a good idea to O’Leary, but what he doesn’t like is that they are now trying to branch off into the retail marking. It is his belief that the retail clothing market is already way too crowded and he does not want to invest in a company that has too many ideas because that leads to having too many chances to fail. With that being said, he decided to call it quits and give them no deal. Barbara Corcoran finally speaks up to agree with O’Leary, stating that a licensing deal would be the way to go for them. However, she doesn’t have the proper licensing connections that could really help them out, so she too does not make them an offer.

With Corcoran and O’Leary out, that leaves three Sharks left. Herjavec says he will make them a deal to buy their whole company so long as Foxworthy agrees to license it. They would get a 7% royalty on any future licensing deals made, but Abbaticchio and Lees are not willing to give up their company in its entirety. Regardless of their wanting to continue to be a part of the business, Herjavec, Foxworthy, and John all come together to give them an offer of $50k and a 7% in exchange for 100% of the company.

The Hill Billy Boys decide to ask for $100k and want to bump up the royalty to 10%. In addition to that, they would also want to have the opportunity to buy the brand back should the 3 Sharks decide to put the name on the shelf and not use it. The Sharks agree to go up to $75k, but the rest of the deal still applies. After taking a moment to discuss what they want to do, they end up accepting the deal to give away all the rights to their clothing brand.

HillBilly Brand Now In 2026 – Recent Update

Despite having struck a deal on the show, they weren’t able to reach a final agreement with the sharks, which caused the deal to fall through. That doesn’t mean they weren’t successful, however. Even without their help, Lees and Abbaticchio were able to take the brand to the next level.

For one thing, they’ve expanded their line of women’s wear to include hats, caps, and patches. Not only that, but they also launched their own line of iced tea, which are all made with pure cane sugar. Currently, there are four flavors available: Sweet Iced Tea, Raspberry Iced Tea, Peach Iced Tea, and Classic Lemonade. For those who are interested, you can get a 12-pack for $19.95 from their official website.

That’s not all, they also launched their own line of whiskey called the Hill Billy Bourbon. Bottled in South Carolina, they’re aged in new charred oak barrels and are bottled at 86, 90 and 101 proof and are smooth enough to drink straight, stand up to cola or ice, or with a beer back. Recently, they also added a HillBilly Vine Whiskey, that’s blended with all-natural muscadine grapes.

Before Shark Tank

Stephan Aarstol is a man who knows his way around the internet marketing system. During the early 2000’s, Aastol put his search engine knowledge to good use by redirecting a lot of internet traffic flow to his very own website. On said website he sold premium poker chips and as a result of the traffic redirection, he managed to make quite a large sum of money in sales. However, Stephan started to notice a trend in the topics that people were searching. According to his findings, stand up paddle boards were becoming an ever popular search on the internet and that is why he decided to literally jump on board.
After conducting a little research about paddle boarding and the boards themselves, Stephan created his very own line titled Tower Paddle Boards. He generates sales in a similar way to how he made sales with his poker chip business. Stephan redirects online traffic to his website and because this sport is continuing to grow in popularity, making a profit was hardly a challenge at all. Especially since he has removed a third party retailer and sells directly to his customers. This means that the price of his paddle boards are sold at half the price of other boards sold in stores.

However, despite having some prior business knowledge and being rather tech savvy, Stephan decided that he wanted to bring an outside party in as a partner with him in Tower Paddle Boards. So he brought his pitch to ABC’s Shark Tank, hoping to tempt one of the Sharks to bite into his new business venture.

During Shark Tank

Aarstol enters the Shark Tank seeking $150k in exchange for a 10% stake in Tower Paddle Boards. Then he begins to explain what exactly stand up paddle boarding is and why it is taking over the nation as one of the new and exciting sports to take part in. The great thing about paddle boarding is that it is so easy to learn and that you can do can do it in virtually any body of water. It has that surfboard appeal to it, but learning how to paddle board isn’t nearly as complicated as it is to learn how to surf.

The sale’s pitch seems to be getting off to a great start until Aarstol begins to experience some technical difficulties with the slide show he brought to assist him in his presentation. For a moment he stumbles, leaving the Sharks looking severely underwhelmed with his performance thus far. Daymond John is the Shark to reach out, hoping to help push Aarstol along with his pitch. He asks him to explain what exactly his product is, which gets Stephan going towards the right direction. He explains that they sell paddles, boards, and various accessories to go along with them. In addition to that, they sell direct to consumer and over the course of 4 months have made $100k in sales. The boards themselves sell for $600 each, but retail sold paddle boards can cost anywhere between $1,200 to $1,600.

Robert Herjavec chimes in to say that he too has jumped on board with the paddle boarding boom because not only is it enjoyable to do, it also has a lot of health benefits as well. According to Aarstol’s information, one hour of paddle boarding is the equivalent of 8 hours of surfboarding. So not only is this product appealing to every day beach goers, but it is also something that workout enthusiasts can take part in. Not to mention it is also something that is pretty easy to do, so just about anyone could find enjoyment in purchasing one of these boards.

Right now, the secret behind the Tower Paddle Board’s success is that Aarstol himself is an internet marketing expert and he has about 12 years of experience behind him. Building the website and redirecting traffic flow didn’t cost them a single penny because he was capable of doing it all himself. Kevin O’Leary doesn’t seem to believe that it doesn’t cost him anything to lure in customers, but Aarstol explains that when a person Googles “the best paddle boards”, his brand comes up as the third or forth link on the page.

Regardless of this though, O’Leary wants to know what makes Tower Paddle Boards special. He argues that he could just make his own brand and have someone do all the work for him and have his very own company instead of just investing into Aarstol’s. This results in a heated argument between the Sharks and Aarstol, but Barbara Corcoran speaks up to get their attention because she can’t stand to hear another word about it. It is her belief that tech savvy guys like him speak in terms that she can never understand and that more often than not, they run away with her money. So, because of her lack of knowledge and understanding, she decides not to invest.

Mark Cuban attempts to instill more confidence back into Stephan by telling him not to listen to Corcoran, and Herjavec says that he really does enjoy the sport of paddle boarding itself. However, what he doesn’t like is the fact that Stephan is pricing his business at around $1.5 million and that is why he too can’t invest into it. In an attempt to help the Sharks make sense of what he is trying to do with his business, Stephan tries to make a metaphor involving water bicycles, Facebook, and cars. It all appears to get lost in translation because none of the Sharks follow what he is saying and that ultimately brings John to point out the facts. There is nothing that makes Tower Paddle Board different from all of its other competitors and that he is overestimating the worth of his business. With those key factors in mind, John can’t justify making an investment.

Despite having three of the Sharks out already, not all hope is lost for finding an investment. O’Leary says that he isn’t quite sure what the goal with the paddle board company is, but he is interested in Aarstol himself as a person. So what O’Leary is willing to do is give him the $150k investment, but only if he has a 50% stake in addition to collecting a 10% cash royalty on each board sold until he makes his money back. What he wants to do is to help develop Aarstol’s other business plans and give him money where needed, but Aarstol doesn’t really want to have to work for someone else. The rest of the Sharks pressure him to give an answer, and when he doesn’t react quick enough, O’Leary decides to retract his deal from the table and to not make an investment at all.

This move couldn’t have made Cuban any happier because now he has a chance to speak with Aarstol. Cuban seems to understand where he wants to take this business. He wants to grow it to a certain point of success, then flip it so he can take the money earned to start working on a different project. Cuban decides that he is willing to give him the $150k but for 30% of the business and he also wants the first right of refusal on any additional business ideas that Aarstol may have. In a last ditch effort to regain Aarstol’s interest, O’Leary puts up the same offer that Cuban did, but is only asking for 25% of the business. This doesn’t really sway Stephan’s decision because he likes Cuban’s attitude better and thinks that they would be able to work better as partners.

Tower Paddle Boards Now in 2018 – Recent Updates

After the airing of the show, Mark and Stephan ended up going through with their deal. Cuban would later state that making this deal was one of the best decisions he ever made on Shark Tank because it only took him a few months to earn back a large portion of the money he invested into it. The Tower Paddle Board brand is on the high road to success and is still extremely popular today. The business has been featured in People Magazine and Inc. 5000, ranked among some of the best products of 2015.

As of 2016 Tower padle boards had shown a 3 year growth rate of over 1850% and has been recognized as the fastest growing private company in San Diego.

They also launched a few ancillary business including Sunglasses by Tower, Tower Magazine, and the soon to be released “Tower Made” company which will provide a variety of beach related products such as snorkles and apparel.

As any cat owner should know, cleaning and maintaining your cat’s litter box is usually unpleasant, messy, and sometimes expensive. The litter gets everywhere when the cat jumps in and out of the box, which usually calls for a vacuum session at least once a day. And then sometimes even the highest rated litter brands can’t mask that unpleasant litter box odor. However, this is the price that all cat owners must pay. At least, it was until Rebecca Rescate came up with a solution to this problem.

Being a cat owner herself, Rebecca was all too familiar with the litter box struggle. So what she did was invent a toilet training program for cats everywhere. According to the CitiKitty program, it should only take your cat around 5 weeks to adjust to using the toilet instead of the litter box because she designed a set of rings that fit over your toilet bowl. These rings are meant to help your cat adapt to the new sensation of perching up on the toilet bowl and then eventually you won’t even have to use them at all. Rebecca suggests that not only is this good for cat owners, but the cats themselves actually prefer using the toilet over the litter box.

CitiKitty (a play on City Kitty) received a massive amount of attention after Rebecca’s cat, Samantha, appeared in the film Little Fockers as “Jinxy”, Robert DiNiro’s beloved cat. In the film, Jinxy is caught using the toilet bowl and that sent everyone wild. This appearance gave CitiKitty a lot of exposure and ultimately put them on the map as a product. Rebecca realizes that even though the movie did give her business a lot more attention, she was going to need an expert to help her tap into the massive pet market. There are over 100 million cats in the United States alone, and Rebecca wants to take advantage of this not only the make millions, but also to make the lives of cat owners everywhere just a little bit easier.

The CitiKitty Pitch During Shark Tank

Rebecca enters the Shark Tank seeking a $100k investment in exchange for 15% of her business. After that, she begins to explain just how big of a hassle owning a cat is because of the litter box that comes along with them. First off, it’s messy, and secondly, it’s nearly impossible to cover up the smell. No one ever wants to be the person to clean the litter box, which can sometimes cause arguments between people who are living and owning a cat together. None of that ever needs to be an issue anymore, since you can easily train your cat to use the toilet by buying CitiKitty. There won’t be any more messes, you’ll be saving money, and your house will just become a more cleanly place. And if that all seems too good to be true, Rebecca shows the Sharks a video of her cat using the toilet to prove that it does actually work.

Naturally, Kevin O’Leary is the first to be a skeptic and says that old cats don’t want to learn new tricks. This is quickly proved to be untrue because Rebecca’s own cat was 11 years old when she was trained to switch from the litter box to the toilet bowl. The reason that cats end up enjoying the bathroom over the litter box is because they learn that the water in the toilet bowl better masks their scent from potential predators. This is an instinct all cats have, but the only option we present them with is the litter box. At least until now anyway.

There are 5 rings that make up the CitiKitty seat and each week you take one away to gradually get your cat to start using the toilet bowl. You continue to fill each ring with kitty litter until eventually they learn that the water masks the scent better, and then you no longer need the CitiKitty seat at all. And for those who are worried about sharing a bathroom with their cat, cats are actually clean animals and are not likely to miss while using the CitiKitty training set. O’Leary still seems to think this is a cross idea, but Rebecca begs to differ. Litter boxes are what’s gross, because they are literally just a box for your cat’s waste. But then there is also the matter of a cat potentially falling into the toilet and drowning, but she states that that’s never happened and most likely never will.

Kevin Harrington moves the conversation over to numbers and asks what she sells these training sets for. The retail price for CitiKitty is $29.99 and each set only costs around $5 to make. Since the start of her business, Rebecca has managed to sell 40 thousand units off of her website alone. This year she is on track to make $350k in sales and during the previous year she made around $225k. In total, she’s sold about $1.4 million in CitiKitty training seats and hasn’t once paid for advertising. People just love it so much that she had already appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal. Clearly this is a product that already has quite a bit of success under its belt.

In total, Rebecca has invested $20k into the company, but she continues to reinvest money earned from profits into it in order to remain profitable. What she plans on doing with the $100k is to hire sales representatives and put the rest of it towards marketing. Her plans for CitiKitty are to take it to the next level because she knows it’s going to be a money maker, but Robert Herjavec doesn’t believe that he is someone who can help her out because he has no interest in the product whatsoever. That is why he can’t invest into it. O’Leary follows suit, stating that he has no love for cats.

Despite the first two Sharks not showing any interest at all, Harrington believes that this is a product that would do well if featured on the television. He is so interested that he decides to give her an offer right on the spot. The only issue is that in exchange for the $100k, he would want 40% of the business. Before making him a counter offer, Rebecca wants to hear what the last two Sharks have to say. Daymond John doesn’t think he can offer her a better partnership, so he’s out, but Barbara Corcoran is definitely interested.

What she has to offer is the $100k in exchange for the 15%, but only if her partner who is a part of As Seen on TV is willing to buy into CitiKitty. This means that the deal’s finality depends on whether or not Corcoran’s partner in New York wants to invest into it as well. Rebecca doesn’t seem too pleased with this deal, so she looks back to Harrington and offers him a counter deal of $100k for 20% of CitiKitty. He counters yet again with 25%, but then Corcoran chimes in to say that she will drop the contingency and give her exactly what she asked for. This seems to tear her up for a minute because she can appreciate both Harrington and Corcoran for where they standing in the marketing world, but she ultimately ends up offering Harrington the final deal of $100k for 20%. He is quick to accept and they end up becoming business partners, leaving Corcoran feeling mildly defeated.

CitiKitty Now in 2018 – After Shark Tank Success

After appearing on the show and making a deal with Kevin Harrington, CitiKitty was on the high road to success. Rescate and Harrington both worked hard together and ended up selling millions of dollars worth of CitiKitty units, which ultimately ended up making her product one of the most successful to have ever been aired on the show. In addition to that, the cat toilet training set ended up taking the #1 Seller on Amazon in the Home & Garden Department category. CitiKitty later went on to also offer a small range of cat treats and even a line of flushable kitty litter that can be used during the toilet training process of your cat. All of the CitiKitty products can be found here, http://www.citikitty.com/ , the official product website.

Rebecca Rescate has obviously made quite a name for herself with this ingenious invention and all of her success is well deserved. She later became the first entrepreneur to appear on the Shark Tank twice in 2013 when she pitched her latest business idea. Overall, Rescate has been doing pretty well and has made a standing in the business world, making her appearance on Shark Tank a happy tale of success.

The post CitiKitty Update – After Shark Tank Aired What Happened? appeared first on Gazette Review.

Heat Helper Before Shark Tank

Lyle Schuette is a man of many talents but someone who only has one true passion. Schuette’s Dirt Works is his main business and he considers himself to be a “dirtreperneur”. However, despite having an already successful business that does more than enough to help provide for his family, the cogs inside Lyle’s mind began to churn when his wife began to face some issues inside the household. Due to a back injury, his wife started to have trouble doing the laundry. Leaning over to get clothes out from the drying took a lot of effort and caused a lot of pain, so what Lyle set out to do was to create a way to elevate the dryer, but also to some how recycle the heat that it put off to also heat the house.

Heat Helper is what Schuette came up with. It’s basically an attachment for the dryer exhaust that filters out all the lint and dust, then expels the warm heat into another room. He believes that there is some real potential for this business, but it is only something that he is interested in doing part time. Because he has a whole other company to run, Schuette wants to take his new business venture to the Shark Tank to see if one of the Sharks will make a deal with him and go in on a partnership. This way the Heat Helper can hit the market without needing 100% of his time and devotion.

During Shark Tank

Schuette enters the Shark Tank seeking $100k in exchange for a 50% equity in his business. Then he goes on to explain how this particular invention came about. He tells the Sharks of the story about his wife and how she injured her back. She wanted something that would give the dryer a little more elevation in addition to warming up their laundry room. After his wife asked him to do this, he thought back to the days when he was younger and his mother rigged the dryer to heat up their home. However, this invention he ended up making is only compatible with electric dryers because of the way they work. Electric dryers pull in air from the home, heat it up, then release it outside of the house. The Heat Helper just redirects the location of the warm air to be released inside the house. This way you save money on heating bills and it is also a little more elevated for people who have back problems.

After finishing his pitch, Schuette mentions in passing that he runs a dirt business which is why his wife let him get away with not helping her do the laundry. He then goes on to explain that his dirt business means that he sells top and ground soil in addition to being a drainage contractor. Ironically enough, his wife hurt her back by falling into a hole he had dug in order to build a pond in their backyard. But moving things back to what he came to the Shark Tank for, Daymond John asks if he has made any Heat Helper sales. In total he has sold around 680 units through the website he currently has up for the Heat Helper. Each unit costs $99 dollars to purchase and has even been supplied at Lowe’s and Walmart. In addition to being affordable to purchase, the Heat Helper can also help families save around $180 dollars a year towards heating bills.

John backtracks a little to redirect the conversation towards his retail spot in Lowe’s. He has been supplying them for about 3 years now, but has only sold around 20 units in the past year. However, this was only the result of him temporarily closing down the business because his other dirt business had really started to take off and required his full attention. Robert Herjavec asks whether he was selling on a national basis with Lowe’s, or if he was just selling them locally. For 3 years he supplied his 2 local Lowe’s stores and Walmart because he was told that his product would be a special order item until he sold a certain amount of units, which would then bring the Heat Helper into consideration for being sold on a national scale. The issue with special order items though, is that a customer can’t pick up the item the day they want them. It has to be ordered and then picked up a day or two later, which ultimately made making sales pretty difficult.

As a result of not being able to make his product work in the big retail stores, John decides that this isn’t something he would want to get his hands dirty with because the risks are just too high. Kevin O’Leary admits to loving Schuette’s personality and the fact that he made a business out of selling dirt. However, because the Heat Helper hasn’t seen so many sales over the course of a year, he too can not invest into the business.

With two Sharks out, that leaves only three left. Corcoran doesn’t feel quite comfortable with the Heat Helper because to her, it feels like something that has been used and worn out because Schuette neglected it in order to help his dirt business flourish. She doesn’t want to take any risks by putting money into it, so she decided to not invest. Scheutte argues that even though he was bringing this product back from the dead, the original he made for his wife 11 years ago was still in use and that no one who had ever bought one returned it or had any complaints. Despite his efforts to convince the two remaining sharks, Herjavec just doesn’t believe it’s a business worth investing into right now. As for Cuban, he does agree that this product has a use and that it could be great, but he doesn’t want to get into a partnership with someone who doesn’t completely have their heart and soul in the business. With that being said, all of the sharks are out and Schuette has to leave with empty pockets.

They have since then received a large sum of orders because people started to go crazy over this device that could not only help them with doing laundry, but also help save money by reusing the warm dryer heat. However, Lyle is still running Heat Helper as a side business because his true love lies with his dirt business. Right now he is still working on manufacturing the product and attempting to find distribution deals with hardware and home appliance stores, but Heat Helper’s success is being reached at a slow rate because Lyle is not 100% invested into it himself.

The post Heat Helper Update 2018 – See What Happened After Shark Tank appeared first on Gazette Review.
