Stacy Keibler is a former WWE Diva who is best known for her work in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). A dancer ever since she was three, Keibler first step foot into the world of wrestling in the late 90’s after taking part in a competition held by the WCW. Successfully defeating hundreds of other females in the ring, she eventually came out as the winner and was awarded a position in the Nitro Girls dance troupe.

Nicknamed “The Legs of WCW” for her stunning long legsーsomething which undoubtedly captured the attention of those present, she soon became one of the most admired valets in the company. At one point, she even danced on The Chairman’s desk mid-ring, an event which ultimately earned her the title of “executive assistant.” Throughout her career, Keibler has helped manage many wrestlers including the Dudley Boyz, Standards and Practices, David Flair, Shawn Stasiak, and a handful of others.

Awarded the title of “WWE Diva of the Year” in 2004, Keibler has gone up against several popular female wrestlers in the ring; some notable mentions include Molly Holly, Victoria and Trish Stratus. Known for her corner foot choke and mounted punches, she was in fact the only female to be brought over to the WWE from the WCW after the former acquired the latter in 2001.

Following a seven year career, she eventually retired from the sport in 2006. Considering her near perfect physique however, it’s not surprising that Keibler later turned towards modellingーsince then, she has graced the covers of countless publications over the recent years including the Cosmopolitan, LA Times, Elle Girl, Esquire and Parade. On top of that, she is also regularly featured in the Us Weekly, People, The Look and Entertainment Weekly Magazines.

Since she stepped down from being a professional wrestler, Keibler has also appeared multiple times on television. A year after her retirement, she played the role of a recurring character in the comedy drama, What About Brian (2007). Some of the other series which she’s been involved with as an actress include Samurai Girl (2008), In the Motherhood (2009), Blue Mountain State (2010), Men at Work (2012) and How I Met Your Mother (2014), to name a few. However in terms of the small screen, outside of the wrestling context that is, she is probably best known for being a competitor in ABC’s Dancing with the Stars in 2006.

So what has the former WCW/WWE wrestler been up to nowadays? What has she been busy with these past few years? What happened to Stacy Keibler? Where is she now in 2018?

Stacy Keibler’s Childhood and Early Life

Born on October 14, 1979 in Rosedale, Maryland, Stacy Ann-Marie Keibler is the daughter of Gary and Patricia Keibler. An avid dancer ever since she was a young girl, she first took up jazz, tap dancing and ballet at Dundalk’s Jean Kettell Studio of Dance when she was three years old. After her initial schooling in St. Clement Mary Hofbauer School, she went to the all-girls Catholic High School of Baltimore, where she was part of the cheerleading team. With her charming looks, she began modelling at the age of six; from there, it wasn’t long until she was cast in a handful of national commercials. By the time she was ten, Keibler was already a member of the Screen Actors Guild!

Following her high school graduation, she enrolled at her local Towson University, majoring in mass communication. Attending the institution on a partial scholarship, Keibler helped pay for her tuition through small modelling and acting gigsーfor instance, she appeared in a couple of minor roles in the films Liberty Heights (1999) and Pecker (1998). Originally more of a dancer than a wrestler, it wasn’t until she attended a wrestling match with her boyfriend at the time in the late 90’s that she was first exposed to the sport. Piquing her interest, she later took part in WCW’s nationwide search for a new Nitro Girl towards the end of 1999. Eventually coming out as the winner amongst hundreds of other female competitors, she was given a position on the dance troupe as well as a cash prize of $10,000 (it was later revealed that she spent a portion of the money to buy season tickets to the Baltimore Ravens football games).

Stacy Keibler’s Career with the WWE and WCW

Strutting into the wrestling scene, Keibler adopted the stage name of Miss Hancock and became a valet. As an associate, she managed the tag team duoー”Standards and Practices” aka Lodi and Lenny Lane. Although she was often dressed in business suits however, her character was known for climbing on top of furniture such as tables and dancing for the fans. Following her “firing” from the pair, Keibler went on to manage the Latin-American tag team duo El Dandy and Silver King, successfully guiding them towards their first major victory. For a short period, the blonde began dating professional wrestler David Fairーwho was in fact, already involved in an on-screen relationship with fellow valet, Daffney. With that, the two women eventually went up against each other in a Wedding Gown Match at the annual Bash at the Beach event; Keibler ultimately lost after removing her gown.

After WCW was acquired by WWE in the early 2000’s, Keibler was one of two dozen names that were brought over by the latter. With the new company, she made her initial appearance on WWE SmackDownーShane McMahon had brought the blonde haired beauty in to the ring with him to distract his opponent, Rhyno. Not long afterwards, Keibler teamed up against real life friend, Torrie Wilson and feuded with the well known WWF divas Lita and Trish Stratus. During The Invasion, she helped manage the wrestling tag team The Dudley Boyz; it was during that time that she received the nickname of “Duchess of Dudleyville” by Paul Heyman.

In 2004, Keibler was one of the few who were asked to record a song for the WWE Originals album. Working alongside Jim Johnstonーa music producer, she ended up recording a track called Why Can’t We Just Dance?. Other superstars who contributed to the album include Lilian Garcia, John Cena and Chris Jericho, all of whom had also embarked on a music career. Keibler’s song was ultimately featured during the RAW Diva Search of 2004. Still at the peak of her popularity, she went on to take part in a series of tag team battles against “villainous” divas such as Molly Holly, Gail Kim and Trish Stratus alongside Nidia and Victoria. Proving herself to be a worthy contender, she showcased her improved moves and was able to win against the women. At one point, she even earned a Women’s Championship titleーalthough it was later retained by Trish.

After a little over half a decade in the wrestling scene, Keibler announced her retirement from the WWE in April of 2006, citing that she was going to be “moving on to other endeavours.”

Highlights from Stacy Keibler’s Acting and Reality Television Career

Staying true to her dancing roots, Keibler participated as a contestant on the second season of the ABC dancing reality series, Dancing with the Stars in 2006. Partnered with professional dancer Tony Dovolani, the pair dazzled the judges and audience with their dance movesーthe blonde even earned the nickname of “weapon of mass seduction” by Bruno Tonioli after receiving perfect scores from three separate judges following her samba dance routine during the fifth week. Although Keibler and Dovolani went on to receive one more perfect score, they were eventually eliminated in the last episode; overall, they ranked third after retired NFL player Jerry Rice and singer, Drew Lachey.

Although she had dabbled in acting in the years prior, it wasn’t until 2007 that Keibler landed a major acting role in the American comedy series, What About Brian? playing the recurring part of a character named Stephanie. Originally aired on the ABC Network in April 2006, the drama revolved around a group of friends in various stages of a romantic relationship in the city of Los Angeles. Keibler’s character made her appearance in the fourteenth episode of the second season, which aired on February 12, 2007; other members of the show’s ensemble cast include Barry Watson, Sarah Lanchester, Rosanna Arquette and Matthew Davis. Despite its initial promising ratings however, an eventual decrease in viewership led the series to be cancelled after two seasons.

From dancing to cooking, Keibler eventually hosted a reality cooking competition series called Supermarket Superstar in the summer of 2013. First premiered on Lifetime in July of that year, the show featured a small group of aspiring entrepreneurs who competed against each other for a chance to win $10,000 in cash as well as consultation services form Mattson and DINE Marketing. Every week, each contestant presents a product to a panel of judges consisting of Chris Cornyn, Michael Chiarello and Debbi Fields; following an evaluation, they then have 90 minutes to make changes to their respective productsーwith the one bearing the lowest rating being eliminated at the end of the episode. In spite of its interesting premise, Supermarket Superstar was met with mediocre reviews and eventually ended after one season.

That’s not all, she also made a couple of appearances in How I Met Your Mother, where she played the role of Karina, a former wrestling diva who’s described as ‘the hottest bartender in the world.’ On top of that, she appeared in the films Dysfunctional Friends, A Drop of Love, and Fixing Pete.

Despite how active she was on television, she seemingly disappeared in 2015. She didn’t make any guest appearances nor did she take on any acting roles.

It wasn’t until 2017, that she appeared again, this time in the documentary Ballerina I’m Not, where she made a small appearance. From there, she surprised everyone at the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Event, where she inducted Torrie Wilson into the hall of fame.

Fast forward to 2021, and WWE Network has named her one of the only women to have made an impact in WWE outside the wrestling ring. And earlier this year, she made an appearance in the new DLC for WWE 2K22, the ninth video game under the WWE 2K franchise. Released on March 11, 2022, it’s available for Windows, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Shawn Michaels is one of the iconic superstars of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). In his two-year career Michaels has fought high-octane battles in thrilling rivalries, became a four-time world champion, and broke records with his staggering 11 “Match of the Year” wins in the wrestling magazine Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Before we check out the latest regarding The Heartbreak Kid, let’s first revisit his career and how he became a legend in the WWE roster.

Shawn Michaels’ Early Life

Shawn Michaels, or if you prefer his real name Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, was born in Chandler, Arizona, on July 22, 1965. As a military brat Michaels and his family lived in different places until his father’s retirement wherein they finally settled down at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas.

Michaels played basketball, baseball, and football during his childhood and the sports helped him bond with the kids when the family had just moved to Randolph. When he was 12 Michaels started to watch pro wrestling every weekend and he was immediately captivated. He also went with his best friend Kenny, also a big wrestling fan, to live shows. Soon enough he was imitating his idols like Ric Flair and he practiced his wrestling by slamming his friends into the swimming pool or in the high school gym.

After finishing high school Michaels enrolled at Texas State University and completed several semesters. However he realized that this was not the path he wanted to tread. He told his father straight away that he wanted to try pro wrestling and didn’t want to waste any more time in college. Fortunately his old man knew someone with connections to a local promotion.

Shawn Michaels’ Early Wrestling Career

Michaels was introduced to Jose Lothario, a Mexican wrestler, who trained him and helped him get booked at the promotion Mid-South Wrestling where he had his first match under the name Shawn Michaels. Even though he lost, Michaels was praised by the guys at backstage for his commendable performance. He spent six months in Mid-South and learned much about wrestling before moving to Kansas City for Central States Wrestling (CSW). There he met and befriended Marty Jannetty who also became his tag team partner.

A few months later Lothario called Michaels and informed him about a new promotion in Texas with a $500 weekly stipend. After eight months Lothario and Michaels sent out tapes to well-known promotions like WWE and American Wrestling Association (AWA). AWA called Michaels and told him that they wanted him aboard in a tag team with Jannetty. Together they formed The Midnight Rockers and never failed to deliver exciting matches thanks to their almost-perfect synchronization (they planned their moves with action figures). Their impressive work caught the attention of legend Pat Patterson, who then referred the pair to Vince McMahon.

Shawn Michaels in WWE

In 1987 the pair was signed to the WWE and were asked to mingle with the superstars in the catering. Michaels and Jannety were being stared at by the other wrestlers and they were antagonized by Jerry Jack Funk. It led to a misunderstanding which ended up with the two being fired by McMahon. The “story” of the two wreaking havoc in a bar, as told by Funk, spread far and wide.

After getting axed Michaels and Jannety worked on smaller promotions, still as The Midnight Rockers, until they were able to return to the AWA. However the promotion was starting to go downhill during that time and Michaels knew that the WWE was their best bet. Again with the help of Pat Patterson the two returned to WWE in 1988 and debuted in a televised tag team match. Their energetic performances and work ethic earned praise from both fans and the other wrestlers. The two ended their tag team in 1991 during the famous Barber Shop segment where Michaels turned heel and tossed Jannety through a glass window.

Michaels solidified his villainous side with the moniker “The Heartbreak Kid” and pursued a singles career while being managed by Sherri Martel. He won his first Intercontinental Championship in 1992 and a short-lived tag team reign with Diesel in 1994. He also fought Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X which was touted as one of the greatest matches ever.

Around the mid 90s Michaels was one of the superstars behind the inception of the backstage group “The Kliq”. These men reportedly wielded enough power to influence the path of their careers like scheduling high-profile bouts. In 1997 he joined his best friend Triple H, Rick Rude, and Chyna in the formation of D-Generation X, and became involved in the notorious “Montreal Screwjob”.

A year later he was severely injured during a match versus The Undertaker. This forced Michaels to take time off wrestling and instead perform roles that do not require much physical exertion such as being commissioner and guest commentator and referee. He also started his own training school named Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy where notable wrestlers like Paul London and Daniel Bryan trained.

Michaels returned to WWE in 2002 for another run, sparking rivalries with the likes of Triple H, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, and Chris Jericho. He locked horns with Vince and Shane McMahon which led to a tag team match in the 2006 pay-per-view Backlash where Michaels teamed up with God. He fought The Undertaker in WrestleMania XV and XVI, both winning a “Best Match of the Year” award in the Slammy Awards, and the latter being Michaels’ final WWE match before retiring.

Shawn Michaels’ Retirement

Michaels gave a farewell speech the night after WrestleMania XXVI in 2010. He revealed later on that his reason for retiring was his desire to spend more time with his family. Michaels was inducted at the Hall of Fame by his best friend Triple H and had a mini reunion with The Kliq. He served as a guest referee in WrestleMania XXVIII match of Triple H and The Undertaker, and was in his buddy’s corner at the next WrestleMania in the fight against Brock Lesnar.

He’s also made appearances in shows in the past such as Baywatch in 1996 and Pacific Blue in 1999.

He is casted as “Incredible Master Yoga” in the upcoming comedy flick Avengers of Justice: Farce Wars. He will also be part of the Ric Flair documentary Nature Boy which will debut on ESPN in 2017.

Michaels was offered a job at the WWE Performance Center several months ago as its head coach alongside Matt Bloom.

Rumors are abound regarding Michaels’ possible Royal Rumble 2017 appearance as the pay-per-view will be taking place in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Aside from that, AJ Styles made mention of his dream of wrestling Michaels and even shared a photo featuring him and HBK. Chances of Michaels returning to the squared circle to wrestle again are pretty slim but, just as what they say, anything can happen in WWE.

Mick Foley and Michaels are slated for induction at the Class of 2017 of the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on May 20, 2017, at Wichita Falls, Texas.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is perhaps one of the most recognizable wrestlers who graced the ring of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) thanks to his rebellious nature and his antics that respected not even the promotion’s owner himself. His career in the WWE lasted only for several years and it was during Austin’s tenure where some of the best storylines were created.

Before we take a look at the latest regarding Austin, let’s first revisit his career and how he became Stone Cold.

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Early Life

Steven James Anderson was born on December 18, 1964, in Austin, Texas. While the Texas Rattlesnake was still a snakelet his parents went on their separate ways and he grew up under the care of his mother Beverly. Later on Beverly married Kenneth Williams and Austin had his name legally changed to Steven James Williams.

Austin fully immersed himself in football throughout his childhood and in his teenage years, and thanks to the sport he earned scholarships for his college education. He was also into physical fitness hence his decision to pursue a physical education degree at North Texas State University where he was a student athlete. Austin’s football eligibility ran out before he could finish his studies so he worked at a freight dock to support himself for another semester. Unfortunately he was too burned out and decided to drop out even though he was just 18 hours away from obtaining the degree.

After dropping out of college Austin focused on working fulltime at the docks and lifting weights. He was also an avid viewer of World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) on the television and its live matches in Dallas. It was during this time when Austin considered trying out his luck in pro wrestling.

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Early Wrestling Career

In 1989 WCCW ran advertisements about the new wrestling school started by the wrestler “Gentleman” Chris Adams. Austin signed up and, five months later, had his first ever televised wrestling match versus the journeyman wrestler Frogman LeBlanc. Austin was guided by his opponent throughout the match and it led to his victory plus $40 in his pocket. His training continued while he was continuously booked in matches under the name “Steve Austin”. He befriended fellow wrestlers like Bronco Lubich and Skandor Akbar, and they were Austin’s excellent sources of information about pro wrestling during those long car trips.

During the same year Austin made his debut as “Steve Austin” at the promotion United States Wrestling Association (USWA) in Memphis. In the early 90s Austin made only $20 per bout and was forced to sleep in his car or share motel rooms with fellow wrestlers, while his diet mostly consisted of raw potatoes. His parents offered him financial assistance but Austin refused the help and wanted to get through his woes with his own hands. He also experienced going heel (villainous character) for the first time in this promotion by feuding with the Gentleman himself on a “teacher vs. cocky student” kind of rivalry.

Eventually Austin realized that he needed to go up the steps if he wanted to further his wrestling career. Then World Championship Wrestling (WCW) gave him a call.

Stone Cold Steve Austin in WCW

In 1991 Austin joined the promotion and within the same year he had a championship belt already strapped around his waist. He continued his heel persona under the name “Stunning” Steve Austin and worked his way up the card.

Austin had two WCW World Television Champion and United States Championship reigns and became part of teams like The Stud Stable, Paul Heyman’s Dangerous Alliance, and The Hollywood Blonds.

During a three-week tour in Japan Austin tore his triceps and, while he was recuperating weeks later, he received a call from Eric Bischoff, the WCW Vice President. Austin was terminated from the promotion after he was deemed “unmarketable”, thus ending his four-year tenure in WCW.

Stone Cold Steve Austin in WWE

Shortly afterwards Austin received a call from Heyman who then invited him to Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Austin focused on cutting promos as he was not yet in top shape to wrestle, and he made good use of this opportunity to criticize WCW. He wrestled in ECW for a few months under the name “Superstar” Steve Austin and his talent attracted the WWE honcho Vince McMahon.

Austin jumped ship to WWE in 1995 as “The Ringmaster”. He was a man of few words, letting his manager Ted DiBiase do the talking. However Austin did not really enjoy portraying the character and WWE told him to come up with something new. This led to the birth of the character Stone Cold Steve Austin, with the first two words came from his then-wife Jeannie Clarke who said that Austin’s tea might get “stone cold” if he doesn’t drink it.

1996 saw his climb to success with the debut of his finishing move, the Stone Cold Stunner, and the legendary catchphrase “Austin 3:16”. His heel persona was supposed to draw hate from the audience but instead they loved Austin’s antics. His foul language, beer chugging habit, violent outbursts, and constant use of the middle salute boosted his popularity and Austin turned down the requests of the brass to tone down his attitude.

Austin was touted as the poster boy of the WWE’s well-known “Attitude Era” in the late 90s. He had thrilling feuds with the late Owen Hart, Booker T, The Rock, and the stable D-Generation X, to name a few.

Perhaps one of his greatest rivalries was against the boss Vince McMahon himself. The two locked horns which involved fights in and out of the ring, destruction of expensive vehicles, hospital visits from “Doctor Austin”, and kidnapping at “gunpoint”. This feud was one of the greatest storylines in the Attitude Era which contributed to the increase in ratings of WWE versus WCW during that time. He also played an important role during the Invasion storyline in the early 2000s.

Problems with the creative direction in the WWE, plus the medical problems that were surfacing, led to Austin’s retirement from wrestling. In 2009 he was inducted in the Hall of Fame. He still appeared in the promotion albeit in non-wrestling roles with very limited physical action.

What’s Stone Cold Steve Austin Doing Now in 2018 – Recent Updates

Austin turned to other ventures after his time grappling in the squared circle was up. He pursued a career in acting which started in 1999 as a minor character in the television series Nash Bridges, and in 2005 he had his film debut in the comedy The Longest Yard.

Austin also served as an executive producer in the reality series Redneck Island and Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge. He hosts the ongoing Stone Cold Podcast: Live! on the WWE Network, and The Steve Austin Show – Unleashed podcast available on iTunes. He was the host of the fifth season of WWE Tough Enough in 2010.

In 2015 Austin partnered with El Segundo Brewing Company in the creation of his very own Broken Skull IPA Beer, and with the knife company Cold Steel for the Broken Skull line of knives.

On December 19, 2016, WWE struck a partnership with gaming chair company Clutch Chairz for the production of seating with themes based on WWE superstars and legends. A Stone Cold Steve Austin chair has been announced and will be available for purchase in early 2017.

Chris Jericho, Y2J, The Man of 1,004 Holds, Lionheart. These are just some of the names this long-time WWE wrestler utilized throughout his career of two decades and counting. He has exhibited great in-ring skills and in the microphone, and also serves as the frontman of his own rock band.

Before we check out the latest regarding Jericho, let’s first revisit the history behind his fruitful career in wrestling.

Chris Jericho’s Early Life

Christopher Keith Irvine was born on November 09, 1970, in Manhasset, New York. His father Ted Irvine played for the ice hockey team New York Rangers hence the family’s residence in the Big Apple. Later on the family relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba where Jericho grew up. He got bit by the wrestling bug when he watched live events of the promotion American Wrestling Association (AWA) with his father. In high school Jericho and his friends started their own wrestling league named the Big Time Wrestling Federation and they wrestled in the gymnasium, and it was here where Jericho imitated the moves of his idols.

In 1986 Jericho watched the local promotion Stampede Wrestling on television for the first time. After seeing the legendary Owen Hart wrestle, Jericho decided that his destiny was in the ring. While watching one of Stampede’s shows, Jericho saw an advertisement that invited aspirants to the Hart Brothers Pro Wrestling Camp. He tried to join but was not accepted as he did not meet the age and weight requirements. Jericho then turned his attention towards finishing high school and obtaining a journalism degree from Red River Community College so he could have an alternative path should his wrestling dreams fail to materialize.

Two years later Jericho joined the Keystone Wrestling Alliance (KWA) as one of the ring crew. Here he learned much about the sport and received important tips from full-time wrestlers. Afterwards he was successfully accepted into the wrestling camp of the Hart brothers and started his journey towards wrestling.

Chris Jericho’s Early Wrestling Work

1990 saw Jericho’s debut in the ring at the Canadian Wrestling Connection (CWC) as “Cowboy” Chris Jericho versus Lance T. Storm. The early years of the decade had Jericho wrestle in promotions around Canada then flying overseas to Mexico and Germany.

In 1994 Jericho went to Japan and joined the promotion Wrestle and Romance (WAR) under the names The Lion Heart and Lion Do. He spent two years in WAR with 24 tours before moving to Philadelphia to join the promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) for a short run before jumping ship to World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Chris Jericho in WCW

Jericho made his debut in WCW on August 26, 1996, followed by a short tenure at the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) promotion. Jericho’s time in WCW was marked with multiple Cruiserweight Championship victories after defeating wrestlers such as Rey Mysterio Jr. and Syxx. He had long rivalries that produced some of the best and hilarious promos in WCW. Jericho also won the prestigious World Television Championship in 1998, and the number of ‘Jerichoholics’ just kept on growing.

In the late 90s Jericho sought to spark a feud between him and the monstrous Bill Goldberg who was known for a very long undefeated streak. Jericho provoked the big guy and even sparked a strong desire from fans to see him ripped apart by Goldberg. Unfortunately Goldberg himself did not like Jericho’s approach to the feud that had potential, and the brass also did not have much faith in Jericho’s capabilities.

Jericho inevitably felt frustrated with WCW and decided to move towards greener pastures. In the last remaining weeks of his contract in the promotion Jericho only appeared in live shows and no longer on television. He also spent some time in tours that took place in Japan. His contract expired in July 1999 and Jericho bid his farewell to WCW by thanking Bischoff for the opportunities he was given.

Three months before his contract expired, Jericho went into talks with WWE. He was already known by the bigwigs as Jericho met the mogul Vince McMahon back in 1997 during the pay-per-view Canadian Stampede in Calgary. In March 1999 Jericho was summoned to McMahon’s house in Connecticut for a very short meeting that did not involve any contract signing (it was revealed by McMahon that the meeting was just a test of sorts). The actual inking came in July and Jericho himself conceived of the iconic “millennium countdown” that heralded his arrival.

Jericho finally arrived in the ring on August 09, 1999, in the midst of a promo cut by The Rock. He won his first Intercontinental Championship in December during the Armageddon pay-per-view and the European Championship in April 2000. Jericho made history in December 2001 during the Vengeance pay-per-view when he defeated both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in two separate matches, earning both WCW World Heavyweight Title and WWE Championship, thus making him the first Undisputed Champion.

In 2003 Jericho debuted the interview segment Highlight Reel which still continues up to this day. His first guest was Goldberg which developed into a feud that was supposed to take place years ago in WCW.

Two years later he conceived the idea of the Money in the Bank match to then-general manager Bischoff which then became a WrestleMania staple until becoming a separate pay-per-view in 2010. Jericho’s contract expired in August and he was ‘fired’ from the promotion after losing to John Cena in a career-ending match. He took a break from wrestling and instead focused on his rock band Fozzy, performing on stage plays and films (debuted in the 2006 sci-fi flick Android Apocalypse, and publishing his first autobiography A Lion’s Tale: Around the World in Spandex.

Jericho returned to the squared circle in 2007 and once again took a break in 2010 after being “injured” by Randy Orton so he could go on tour with Fozzy. Jericho returned for another run from 2012 to 2013, took another one year break, then came back in 2014. Much of his 2015 was spent in live shows due to the nature of his contract, and in the reality series Tough Enough as one of the hosts for season six. Jericho made his return to TV in July at the event The Beast in the East.

What’s Chris Jericho Doing Now in 2018 – Recent Updates

Jericho kicked off 2016 by entering the Royal Rumble at number 6 and avoiding elimination for 50 long minutes. He sparked rivalries with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose, sported a scarf instead of his jacket with blinking lights, and became best of friends with Kevin Owens (calling themselves the Jeri-KO). On September Jericho started his famous gimmick “The List of Jericho” wherein he wrote down names of people who annoy him.

Cracks on the friendship between him and Owens formed on November 28 after Owens barked “Shut up!” at Jericho during a Highlight Reel segment. The Prizefighter also cost Jericho a shot at the United States Championship a week later after a failed attempt in helping to defeat Roman Reigns. Jericho will be facing Seth Rollins in the upcoming pay-per-view Roadblock: End of the Line this December 18.

Last January Jericho announced that Fozzy was already working on their seventh album and was supposed to be released within this year. Unfortunately the release date was pushed to 2017 as Jericho had to split his time between the band and as part of the WWE roster.

Jericho was one of the seven wrestlers who appeared in the documentary Nine Legends released last January. He also appeared in Talking Dead, The Eric Andre Show, Hollywood Game Night, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

Jericho will be releasing another autobiography in August 2017 titled No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling but Succeeded in Life.

Triple H is one of the superstars in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) who’s been around for two decades in a career marked by championship reigns, epic rivalries, and corporate work.

Before we find out the latest regarding Triple H, let’s first revisit his journey towards superstardom.

Triple H’s Early Life

Paul Michael Levesque was born on July 27, 1969, in Nashua, New Hampshire. He grew up to an athletic lifestyle that involved basketball and baseball, and soon enough the wrestling bug bit the young Triple H after watching shows on the television. At the onset of his teenage years Triple H joined the local gym Muscle in Motion and ventured into body building so he could achieve the physique like his idols that wrestled in the squared circle. He started pumping iron at 14 weighing 135 pounds, and after graduating from high school Triple H was jacked at 200 pounds.

Triple H joined many bodybuilding competitions and even bagged the prestigious Teenage Mr. New Hampshire when he was just 19. He once trained with famed bodybuilder Kevin McGaunn and together they co-managed a local branch of Gold’s Gym. Around this time Triple H met powerlifter and wrestler Ted Arcidi who was currently part of the WWE roster, and this meeting led to the first steps in the aspiring wrestler’s journey to the ring.

Triple H’s Early Wrestling Career

As per Arcidi’s recommendation Triple H signed up for the wrestling school in Malden, Massachusetts, which was helmed by Walter “Killer” Kowalski. Triple H felt right at home when he stepped into the ring just like his first time in picking up a weight. He had a knack in quickly learning moves which impressed Kowalski. Three months later Kowalski included Triple H in the roster of his own promotion Independent Wrestling Federation (IWF) where the young star was known as Terra Ryzing.

It was in the IWF where Triple H had his first taste of the Heavyweight Championship wrapped around his waist. He also wrestled for other independent promotions throughout the East Coast under different managers. Triple H then decided in 1994 that his career in wrestling needed a step up, hence his decision to join the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) promotion, but he only did so to serve as a stepping stone towards his ultimate goal which was the WWE.

Triple H had to be creative so he could get into the WCW. He cooked up a resume that listed his wrestling experience as five years instead of one, and he also compiled professional photos and tapes that contained his best matches. He went to a gym convention and met Chip Burnham, a WCW employee. The two talked and got to know each other well, and Triple H then handed the material to Burnham, who then handed it to then-president Bob Dhue. Soon he was summoned by then-executive Eric Bischoff and Triple H had his debut match in Atlanta as Terror Risin’.

WCW initially offered Triple H a two-year contract but he only wanted one year as he wanted to get to the WWF as soon as possible. In his early months in the promotion Triple H’s rookie-level moves were quickly noticed by veteran wrestler Terry Taylor which contradicted his “five-year” experience in the resume. Triple H admitted to Taylor about the bogus information and the latter offered to polish his moves. Later on Triple H was summoned to do promos for his new character Jean-Paul Levisque, a French villain. He had a brief partnership with his British counterpart Lord Steven Regal in the mid 90s before Triple H decided to call the WWE mogul Vince McMahon and jumped ship even though the pay was lower than what WCW offered.

Triple H in the WWE

Triple H had his WWE debut during an episode of Wrestling Challenge on April 29, 1995 as Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Triple H was heavily promoted during his early months in the promotion until it stalled around 1996. He also became part of the backstage group The Kliq composed of real-life friends Kevin Nash, Sean Waltan, Scott Hall, and Shawn Michaels. They were believed to possess a good amount of influence towards the creative aspect of the WWE.

The group was also infamous for the Madison Square Garden Incident (or MSG Incident) wherein they broke character in front of a live audience as they bid farewell to Hall and Nash, a big deal as WWE was pretty strict in maintaining the lines between hero and villain back then. Because of the incident Triple H was punished by McMahon himself, forcing the wrestler to fight green wrestlers and lose a shot at the championship. Triple H accepted his punishment without question, thus earning him the legitimate respect of the other wrestlers.

One of the highlights of Triple H’s career was in 1997 with the formation of the stable D-Generation X and his change of name to what we know now. In the 2000s he became part of renowned heel (villainous) factions like The McMahon-Helmsley Faction, The Power Trip, The Corporation, Evolution, and The Authority, and became the on-screen Chief Operating Officer of the WWE in 2011.

Triple H Outside the Ring

Triple H also has responsibilities within the company that take place outside the ring. In 2010 he was appointed as Senior Adviser of WWE, and a year Triple H became Executive Vice President, Talent and Live Events. Through this position Triple H handles WWE’s global presence, and the recruitment and development of superstars which led to his founding of the developmental promotion WWE NXT. In 2013 the 26,000 square foot WWE Performance Center was erected in Orlando, Florida, and Triple H was among those who oversaw its construction. During the same year Triple H added “Creative” to his title as his job description now includes working on the WWE’s creative direction.

Just like other superstars Triple H also had his fair share of acting work. His first appearance was in the drama series Pacific Blue in 1998 while his film debut was in the 2004 superhero flick Blade: Trinity. His first leading role was in the 2011 comedy The Chaperone, followed by drama film Inside Out also in the same year. He is one of the superstars who provided voices for their respective characters in the 2014 animated film Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery made in collaboration with WWE Studios.

What’s Triple H Doing Now in 2018 – Recent Updates

Triple H made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble last January by being the 30th entrant and the winner as well, securing his ninth World Heavyweight Championship victory. He lost the title in the critically-panned main event of WrestleMania 32 three months later. Around this time The Authority was disbanded and Triple H took time away from the ring to focus on developmental duties, only returning last August 29 to help Kevin Owens win the Universal Championship versus Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Triple H’s next appearance as he again vanished after his betrayal of former The Authority comrade Seth Rollins. Speculations are abound as to when the King of Kings will come back to the squared circle, but there is a possibility that he will be wrestling again in February after Royal Rumble to give time for his feud with Rollins to build up for WrestleMania 33. NXT still has three tours set for January, not to mention the upcoming NXT TakeOver: San Antonio on January 28, 2017, and Triple H will most probably be devoting his time on those shows.

Last May Triple H signed a new deal that will extend his time as a wrestler for three years. Expect to see the Cerebral Assassin delivering Pedigrees until WrestleMania 36.

WWE Studios once again made another animated flick about the brown Great Dane with Scooby-Doo! And WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon where Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon voice their respective characters. Triple H also voices his pumped-up penguin counterpart in the upcoming Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania set for release next year.

Edge is one of the many superstars in the WWE whose decade-long career was marked with multiple championship reigns, epic rivalries, and a sudden end.

Before we take a look at the latest about Edge, let’s first revisit his humble beginnings in the squared circle and how the Rated R Superstar came to be.

Edge’s Early Life

Adam Joseph “Edge” Copeland was born in the town of Orangeville in Ontario, Canada, on October 30, 1973. He grew up under the care of his mother Judy as his father bolted even before he was born, and with his uncles and grandparents. At nine years of age Edge got his first exposure to wrestling after witnessing Hulk Hogan on the television and he was glued to the sport, watching the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE, formerly WWF) and Canadian wrestling promotions until his mother (who also watched alongside the young Edge) surprised him with tickets to a live WWE show.

Edge attended Princess Elizabeth Public School where he met Jason Reso, better known as the wrestler Christian, and became partners in crime. Whenever small-time independent wrestling shows appeared in Orangeville the duo helped set up chairs and the ring. After an incident of bullying in high school Edge decided to pump iron and Christian joined him in the gym and at the local boxing club. He met a few more likeminded friends and together they were known as the Getalong Gang, training in the gym on a daily basis and watching pay-per-view shows of the WWE.

During this time the Canadian newspaper Toronto Star had a weekly wrestling column that gave out WWE tickets as a reward for answering trivia questions. Edge joined one of their contests where he wrote an essay that detailed why he wanted to be in the ring, and the reward was free training under the tutelage of Ron Hutchinson and Sweet Daddy Siki.

Edge’s Early Wrestling Days

Fortune smiled upon Edge as Sweet Daddy Siki himself called the aspiring wrestler for the contest’s final stage at Sully’s Gym in Toronto. Edge passed the test and began training with a growing number of classmates in a not-so-friendly environment with a low ceiling decked with exposed pipes and a small ring, but it actually helped Edge hone his technical wrestling skills. His first match came in July 01, 1992 at Toronto’s Monarch Park where a Canada Day celebration took place. Later on he was forced to work in factories and in a bikini shop for financial support and to help his mother with the bills. Edge also obtained a radio broadcasting degree in Humber College.

In 1993 Edge had his first television exposure under the moniker Adam Impact (one of his many early names) in the Winnipeg-based promotion IWA Wrestling. Edge spent most of the early 90s in various independent wrestling promotions in both Canada and the United States, teaming up with Christian to form Hard Impact and The Suicide Blondes.

In 1996 during a match in Ajax, Ontario, Edge caught the eye of Carl DeMarco, the business manager of wrestler Bret Hart who later on became president of WWE Canada. DeMarco called Edge and had him on a match against Bob Holly (who was known as Spark Plug during that time) in Hamilton, Ontario. Edge introduced himself as Sexton Hardcastle and put on a match that earned him praise from bigwigs like Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Ultimate Warrior.

While he was on a wrestling tour for an ICW that same year Edge received a call from DeMarco with summons to New York. There Edge was greeted by a developmental deal from Jim Ross with a weekly stipend of $210.

Edge in the WWE

Edge initially participated in a training camp ran by Dory Funk Jr. and Tom Pritchard. He was also saddled with the character Edge the “tortured soul”. He made his television debut in 1998 and faced Jose Estrada Jr., which did not end well as Edge’s somersault knocked Estrada out and led to an end to his career shortly afterwards. Edge’s first pay-per-view appearance was in Summerslam in 1998 where he teamed up with Sable, and later he joined Christian and Gangrel as a trio of “vampires” known as The Brood.

In 1999 Edge snagged his first Intercontinental Championship belt, and in 2000 he won the Tag Team Championship with Christian. The duo played heel (villainous) characters and held the title for multiple reigns before breaking up and locking horns in different occasions. The early years of the new decade had Edge on feuds with wrestlers such as William Regal, Kurt Angle, and Booker T.

During WrestleMania 21 in 2005 Edge emerged victorious in the first Money in the Bank match in WWE history. During the same year Edge adopted the moniker “Rated R Superstar” and started The Cutting Edge which became his long-running talk show segment. 2006 started with Edge’s first WWE Championship reign after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to snatch the title away from John Cena at New Year’s Revolution, but Cena won it back three weeks later at Royal Rumble.

In 2009 during The Bash, Edge won his twelfth Tag Team Championship but a few weeks later he was forced to vacate the title after an injury that put him out of action for almost a year, making his partner Chris Jericho choose Big Show as the new half of the championship thanks to a loophole in the contract. Edge returned the following year at the Royal Rumble which he won for the first time ever in his career. Before the year ended Edge won his sixth World Heavyweight Championship at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, and in 2011 he had his seventh reign after retaining the title from Dolph Ziggler.

Edge in Acting and Retirement

Edge had his film debut in the 2000 fantasy flick Highlander: Endgame but only in a cameo. In 2011 he appeared in an episode of the sci-fi series Sanctuary, and became part of the regular cast of Haven from its second to fifth season. He paired with comedian Jamie Kennedy for the lead role in the 2012 comedy Bending the Rules. In 2015 he was cast as the villainous Atom-Smasher in the second season premiere of The Flash.

At Wrestlemania XXVII Edge successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship from Alberto Del Rio. On April 11, 2011, Edge revealed that his title defense was his final televised match as he was no longer cleared to compete due to cervical spinal stenosis, and his condition could turn for the worse if he chose to continue his career.

He was present when Christian won the belt at Extreme Rules the following month, and at Summerslam but he walked out in disappointment towards Christian’s dirty tactics. On September 16, 2011, during a Smackdown episode in Toronto, the roster celebrated Edge’s career with an off-air Edge Appreciation Night (you can watch this on YouTube).

The next year Edge was inducted by Christian into WWE’s Hall of Fame. His contract with the company officially expired a month later. Edge appeared in a few more The Cutting Edge segments, and even hosted the December 29, 2014 Raw episode with Christian.

Goldberg is best known for being a nigh-unstoppable wrestler in the WCW and the WWE, with the trademark catchphrase “Who’s next? and armed with two devastating moves namely the Jackhammer and the Spear. Aside from wrestling he’s also had a career in football, MMA commentary, and in the big and small screens.

Before we check out the latest on Goldberg, let’s take a look back at his long and successful journey in entertainment and sports.

Goldberg’s Early Life and Football Career

William Scott “Bill” Goldberg was born on December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a kid Goldberg preferred playing football and was not that interested in wrestling. He joined the football team of Thomas Edison High School and his incredible talent in the sport attracted scouts from nearby territories to come to Tulsa and personally witness him in play. In the mid 80s Goldberg got a University of Georgia scholarship and was the defensive tackle of the Georgia Bulldogs, with his impressive tally of 348 tackles being the ninth best in the school’s history. He pursued a degree in psychology but failed to finish it as he got drafted to the NFL.

Goldberg spent the first few years of the 90s in different football teams namely the Los Angeles Rams, Sacramento Surge, Sacramento Gold Miners, and Atlanta Falcons. His time with the Falcons ended after an abdominal injury and he jumped ship to the Carolina Panthers, although his football career in this new team fizzled as the injury he sustained from the previous team crippled all hopes of a future in the sport.

Goldberg spent some time on rehab to recover from his injury, and during this period he trained in martial arts and did powerlifting to maintain his strength and physique, and Goldberg still hoped that he could return to the NFL. While training in a gym at Atlanta Goldberg was seen by professional wrestlers Sting and Lex Luger who were also pumping iron there. The legendary duo approached Goldberg with the suggestion of trying his luck in the wrestling ring.

Goldberg in the WCW

Goldberg took heed of the suggestion and began training in the Power Plant, the gym of the World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He signed with WCW in 1996 and debuted in 1997 as Bill Gold. He dominated the ring with an undefeated streak that consisted of matches lasting for only a few minutes. Fans were fascinated by the huge yet surprisingly-agile wrestler who only had a few words and destroyed virtually anyone who stepped into the ring with him.

In 1998 Goldberg was now addressed by his surname and WCW kept track of his long-running streak. He got “over” (drew positive reaction from fans) and steadily showed potential in becoming a possible holder of the prestigious World Heavyweight Championship belt which was currently held by Hollywood Hogan. Goldberg won his first championship and his served as his 107th straight victory. He reigned as champ for 174 days before losing it (and ending his streak of 173 wins) to Kevin Nash.

Goldberg rampaged through the 90s in various feuds and even going on a heel turn (turning into a villainous character) at one point. He stayed until 2001 when the WCW was acquired by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Goldberg was out of action during this time as he just had surgery and was in recovery, but even after the sale of WCW he was still paid thanks to the Time Warner (WCW’s parent company) contract. He eventually agreed on a buyout in May 2002 which made Goldberg a free agent.

Goldberg in the WWE

Three months later Goldberg flew to Japan and signed up with the promotion All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW). He also did color commentary for the Shockwave Dynamite event of MMA organization PRIDE Fighting Championships. His deal with AJPW wasn’t exclusive which allowed him to work with other wrestling promotions in the country. Goldberg was again dominant in the east, tearing apart foes with ease, and this kind of ferocity didn’t go unnoticed.

In early 2003 Goldberg met with WWE mogul Vince McMahon who then extended the wrestler a contract on the biggest wrestling promotion. Goldberg’s debut came in March 31, the Monday after Wrestlemania XIX, wherein he interrupted the “Appreciation Ceremony” of The Rock with a devastating Spear. The two feuded which resulted in Goldberg’s victory and again the latter went on a rampage. During the same year Goldberg bagged the World Heavyweight Championship and reigned for 84 days.

It was also in 2003 when Goldberg first encountered Brock Lesnar which sparked a rivalry between the two juggernauts, culminating in Wrestlemania XX in a heavily-advertised yet disappointing match as the rumors of the planned departure of the two wrestlers from WWE spread online.

Goldberg’s contract expired and in 2004 he reportedly got into talks with the WWE for a renewal that ultimately did not push through.

Goldberg in Acting and MMA Commentary

Goldberg, like many other wrestlers, had his fair share of acting work. His debut was in the critically-panned action film Universal Soldier: The Return released in 1999. He took a break from the ring by getting “injured” courtesy of the Steiner brothers.

In 2002 he made an appearance at the comedy series Yes Dear and at Arli$$. He also provided voices for some characters in animated shows like Family Guy and Kim Possible. The following year he returned to the big screen in Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and in 2005 in the Adam Sandler comedy The Longest Yard with other renowned wrestlers Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, and The Great Khali.

Goldberg’s debut in a lead role came in the Christmas of 2005 with the black comedy Santa’s Slay. In 2007 he starred with rapper Kurupt in the action flick Half Past Dead 2.

Goldberg’s interest in vehicles was evident in his own television show AutoManiac in 2005 and his hosting work on the 2009 reality series Garage Mahal.

Goldberg continued his career in MMA commentary at a World Fighting Alliance (WFA) pay-per-view event in 2006 titled King of the Streets, at the Dynamite USA event of K-1, and in many events of Elite Xtreme Combat.

What’s Goldberg Doing Now in 2018 – Recent Updates

Last May 2016 it was revealed that Goldberg was a bonus character who can be acquired upon the pre-order of the upcoming video game WWE2K17. Brock Lesnar on the other hand was the star on the game’s cover. Speculation among fans became rampant concerning the return of Goldberg to the squared circle, especially with the two monster wrestlers hurling insults online and in events. Goldberg returned to WWE last October 17 on Raw and accepted the challenge issued by Paul Heyman.

The two collided in Survivor Series last November 20 which ended in Goldberg’s incredibly-fast victory and with Lesnar suffering from cracked ribs after two Spears. The quick outcome of the match gathered polarizing reactions from fans. On the following Raw episode Goldberg announced that he will be participating in the upcoming Royal Rumble next year. Heyman also announced that Lesnar will be joining the Rumble as well.

Goldberg was one of the cast of the film Enter the Fist and the Golden Fleecing with a still-unknown release date. He is set to appear in future films namely thriller American Satan and action Check Point, both in 2017, and 2018 comedy Holly, Jingles and Clyde 3D. He also stars in the fantasy Soulmates which is still currently filming.

Vince McMahon is the man who led one of the biggest companies in wrestling to greater heights. He managed to rake in billions of dollars and expand the WWE to broader horizons while defeating and even acquiring his rivals in the industry. He did try venturing in other business endeavors and their failures did not stop his momentum towards the billion-dollar mark. With his wealth Mr. McMahon has never forgotten to give back to society with his philanthropic efforts.

Read on and find out more about the massive empire of Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon Net Worth – $1.23 billion

How did Vince McMahon make his money & wealth?

Vincent Kennedy McMahon was born on August 24, 1945, in Pinehurst, North Carolina. McMahon grew up with his mother and different stepfathers as his biological father and his brother Rod left him at an early age. In 1957 McMahon met his father Vincent J. McMahon for the first time and learned that his old man was a promoter for Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC). The young McMahon then fell in love with wrestling.

McMahon took a business administration degree in college and graduated in 1968 from East Carolina University. McMahon initially worked as a travelling salesman until he was appointed as a ring announcer for the program All-Star Wrestling in 1969 which was under his father’s promotion named World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). During the 70s McMahon helped boost his father’s company and, before the decade ended, he founded Titan Sports with his wife Linda and pushed for the renaming of WWWF to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He gained control of CWC in 1982 after purchasing it from his father.

McMahon aggressively expanded his company’s reach by recruiting talent, merging wrestling with entertainment, and following a consistent weekly television program coupled by pay-per-view events. These efforts ensured the massive increase of audience numbers. In 1985 McMahon held the very first WrestleMania event which was considered as the wrestling version of Super Bowl. During the 90s he steered the WWF towards mature storylines and shifts in moralities and appearances of the wrestlers to accommodate the changing demands of the audience. This era is famously known as the Attitude Era and McMahon himself even stepped into the ring as the villainous character Mr. McMahon. The two weekly shows Raw and SmackDown also started in the 90s.

WWF was so successful that it managed to beat and acquire its competitors World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The WWF was rebranded into World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2002 after a lawsuit from the World Wildlife Fund which also utilized the WWF acronym. The company moved to different eras ranging from the PG Era, the Reality Era, and more recently the New Era. McMahon tried his hands on other ventures like the World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF) and the XFL football league but they fizzled and did not replicate the triumph of WWF.

McMahon owns a 52% stake in the WWE and his fluctuating net worth puts him in and out of the billionaires list of Forbes magazine. The company’s shares dipped in 2014 due to a bad deal with NBC but the following year saw a comeback after the launch of the WWE Network, a subscription based streaming service that contains a plethora of wrestling content. The network is currently accommodating 1.82 million subscribers which will surely grow even more as the $9.99 monthly price tag is very much worth it.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is famous for his fiery catchphrases and his electrifying in-ring persona in the WWE. He is also an accomplished actor and starred in a long list of action-packed films. The Rock has not forgotten to give back to society with his charitable endeavors, and he always seeks to encourage others in chasing their dreams.

Read on and find out more about the success story of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and how he made millions in net worth.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Net Worth in 2018 – $125 million

How did Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson make his money & wealth

Dwayne Douglas Johnson was born on May 02, 1972, in Hayward, California. Johnson first started out as a football player in high school, and his career in the sport continued through college in the University of Miami as he was part of the Miami Hurricanes. He almost got the chance to play in the National Football League (NFL) but an injury snuffed such possibility out. After graduating in 1995 Johnson flew to Canada to join the Calgary Stampeders but was met with miserable living conditions and a ridiculously low salary. To make matters worse Johnson was booted from the Stampeders to be replaced by an NFL player.

During those troubled times his gut instinct told him to try out professional wrestling as he already had experience in the mat back in high school, not to mention his family’s deeply-rooted history in the sport. His father, the renowned wrestler Rocky Johnson, subjected him to intense training sessions. Through the connections of his relatives Johnson was able to participate in a World Wrestling Federation (WWF) tryout. He managed to impress promoters and eventually Johnson had his first professional match in the 1996 WWF pay-per-view event called Survivor Series as “Rocky Maivia”.

Johnson was initially hated by the audience as they favored the heel characters (the bad guys) more than faces (the good guys). After recovering from a knee injury Johnson returned to the squared circle in a new persona called “The Rock”. A month later he was one of the greatest heels in the roster and, as the years went on, Johnson electrified millions of fans with his killer charisma and catchphrases, and also attracted millions of dollars through merchandise. Aside from wrestling Johnson is also a promising actor, starting out in the action flicks The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King and later on starring in more films with his praiseworthy performance. As of now he is only working for the WWE as a part-timer with very few appearances in a year, choosing to focus on his acting career.

Johnson has established other ventures behind the camera that ensure a constant flow of income. He appeared in an advertisement for Ford and Super Bowl. In 2016 he struck a partnership deal with sports apparel company Under Armour where he will be helping create new items under the “Project Rock” brand. Johnson also appears in the company’s Record app where he shares workout tips. During the same year he released an alarm app called The Rock Clock that features a lack of snooze button and motivational videos from Johnson himself. Recently in July 2016 Johnson started a YouTube channel in partnership with Seven Bucks Digital Studios as a way to interact with fans and of course to make a good amount of money.
