Do laundry sheets work as well as detergent?

Laundry detergent sheets are concentrated and are just as effective as liquid or powder detergents when used with a washing machine. If anything, they're even more convenient as there's no measuring involved. The only drawback is that they're not as great at removing stains compared to liquids.

How do you wash clothes with detergent sheets?

For top-loading washers, toss one laundry detergent sheet inside the drum after adding your clothes. For top-loading machines, you can toss the strip directly into the drum or place it inside the dispenser drawer. Depending on the size of the load, you may have to tear the sheet in half or add more than one sheet. Some brands of laundry detergent sheets may also require more than one strip per load. When in doubt, read the packaging to see how many are needed.

How many laundry detergent sheets per load?

Most brands of laundry detergent sheets recommend using one strip for a small to medium-sized load. For larger loads of dirty laundry, you may need to use two or more detergent sheets.

Do laundry detergent sheets work in cold or hot water?

Most, if not all laundry detergent sheets are designed to dissolve in both hot and cold water. You can test this by putting a sheet down while the water is running; you'll notice that it'll immediately begin to disintegrate.

Can laundry detergent sheets be used in all washing machines?

Most laundry detergent sheets, such as the ones by ACTIVE, can be used in both standard and high-efficiency (HE) washing machines. Keep in mind, however, that there are exceptions. If it doesn't say the sheets are HE compatible on the packaging, it's best to assume that they're not.

Can you use laundry detergent sheets for hand washing?

Yes, you can. Fill a sink or container with water and add your clothes. From there, put the laundry detergent sheet on top of your clothes; it should dissolve quickly. Allow your clothes to soak for 15-20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with fresh water.

Are there any travel restrictions for laundry sheets?

Feel free to take a box of laundry detergent sheets with you when you're traveling. There are no restrictions and you can have them in your carry-on bag or checked luggage at the airport.

Do I need to remove the sheet before putting my laundry in the dryer?

Laundry detergent sheets will start to dissolve as soon as they're exposed to water. By the time the cycle is finished, it will be gone so there's no need to remove the sheet.
