I would be less inclined to recommend a company that has no charity work under its belt. I always start the mattress breakdown with a look at the cover material. There are three things we want in a cover material, it must be porous, durable and comfortable. All mattresses have these three traits to a greater or lesser degree, and the Bear is no different. The topper is made from a blend of polyester, which tends to give us the durability, and something called Celliant. Now I am about to go off on one about Celliant, because the stuff is just downright magical. Celliant is made from  optically modified polyethylene terephthalate fiber. It interacts with the electromagnetic emissions of the human body, reflecting them with a mechanism unknown to me, but verified by numerous studies, and increasing oxygenation of tissue. Increased oxygen reduces aches and pains, and allows the body to heal faster from injury. Seriously, a double blind study on foot injuries have shown that wearing a sock made from this stuff makes you heal faster. In all what we have here is cutting edge, and perfect for athletes, body builders and anyone who wants to maximize their work out.

On to the insides, and that focus on healing is present here as well. At base we have a fairly standard 6.5″ of support foam, less than some, but the pain relieving quality of the topper material means that we don’t need an overly firm mattress. Next up is 2.5″ of rapid response memory foam. I have seen this material used elsewhere, and can attest to its effectiveness is moving with you. Most memory foam sticks, and takes a few seconds to re contour as you move, not the case here. At the top is something very special. I touched on it a bit in the opening paragraph, the excellent cooling. 1″ of graphite gel infused memory foam. It hugs you just right and keeps you at a constant cool comfortable. Graphite is an excellent conductor, and this mattresses cooling prowess is beaten only by the Layla.

What we have here is a mattress focused on providing not only an excellent sleeping experience, but one that allows you to stay active for longer, and even has some minor pain relieving qualities, making it perfect for those with back pains. In all a highly impressive build.
