Of all the contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette who found a spouse through the show, Ashley Hebert might be my favorite. The star of Season 7 of The Bachelorette, Hebert was proposed to by JP Rosenbaum during the finale. A year later, in 2012, they had their wedding. A couple years later they had a son. But since then, the couple has stayed relatively out of the spotlight. So what’s new for them?
Before The Bachelor
Ashley Hebert was born in Madawaska, Maine, in 1985. Madawaska is a small town near the border of Canada, where over 80% of the residents speak French as their primary language. Despite this, Hebert never became fluent with the language, though she does understand it.
Hebert had a childhood love of dance, which she developed as a team living in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. From there, she studied several forms of dance at the University of Maine, which she attended on a dance scholarship from 2002 to 2006. Dance was only her minor, though. She majored in biology, and apparently graduated with a 3.92 GPA!
She took a year off to live in Hawaii, before studying dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. It was after that when she auditioned for the fifteenth season of The Bachelor.
The Bachelorette
Season 15 of The Bachelor was different than previous seasons. It was the only season to have a Bachelor return; Brad Womack rejected both finalists in Season 11. It also had thirty women competing, a Bachelor first.
Ashley Hebert made it through most of the season, finishing as the second runner-up in Week 9. While normally the first runner-up is given a spot on the upcoming Bachelorette, audiences just weren’t big fans of Chantal O’Brien. So, the honor went to Hebert.
The seventh season of The Bachelorette premiered in May 2011, and was one of the more eventful seasons of the show. The first contestant eliminated passed out on a couch during the first episode. For much of the season, the competition took place in southeast Asia China.
Hebert narrowed the competition down to Ben Flajnik and JP Rosenbaum. She rejected Flajnik’s proposal, but he went on to star in Season 16 of The Bachelor. She happily accepted Rosenbaum’s proposal, and the two set a wedding date.
What’s Ashley Hebert Doing Now in 2018 – Recent Updates
Hebert and Rosenbaum got married on December 1, 2012. The wedding was broadcast as an ABC special a few weeks later. Several prominent stars from earlier seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelorette were at their wedding, including Trista Sutter, Jillian Harris, Sean Lowe, and Molly Mesnick.
A couple years later the couple had their first child. Born on September 30, 2014, Fordham Rhys Rosenbaum. On May 23, 2016, the couple announced through Instagram that they’re expecting a baby girl, due sometime this winter.
In her personal life, Ashley Hebert is working as a pediatric dentist in Miami, Florida, where the couple are apparently remodeling a house.
