Hailing from Oakland, G-Eazy made his big debut a few years back with his major-label album, These Things Happen. Since then, the rapper has released a few additional titles including Must Be Nice, These Things Happen, The Beautiful & Damned, and When It’s Dark Out.
Raised in North Oakland, he originally started out as a music producer in the late 2000’s, prior to joining a local rap group called The Bay Boyz. By 2010, he had earned himself a decent reputation, having been given the chance to open and perform for some established artists including Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne.
How G-Eazy Became Famous
After two independent releases, G-Eazy dropped his major label debut, These Things Happen through RCA Records in 2014. His breakthrough hit, it entered the Billboard Top 200 at number three, with over 47,000 sales in the first week. Well received by fans and critics alike, the project eventually went gold in the U.S.
From there, his popularity only increased further with his subsequent album, When It’s Dark Out. An improvement over his debut, it not only became his first platinum hit but had also given rise to his first multi-platinum single, Me Myself & I, which was a collab with Bebe Rexa.
Most recently, the artist dropped his latest release, The Beautiful & Damned in the winter of 2017. Though not as successful as his previous works per se, it did go on to peak at number three on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B and Hip-Hop Albums chart.
G-Eazy’s Collaboration Works
Aside from his solo projects, the rapper has also worked with many other artists on several occasions over the past few years. For example, he’s worked with Pia Mia, Grace, Marc E. Bassy, Britney Spears, Yuna, and Dillon Francis to name a few. Some of these songs include Make Me…, You & Me, Give It Up, Say Less, F.F.F., and Fashion Week.
In fact, he has also released a few collaborative EPs in the past including Nose Goes with Swiss Chriss, Must Be Twice with Christoph Andersson, and These Things Also Happened with Christoph Andersson.
