Lark Voorhies is best known for playing rich teen Lisa Turtle on the NBC sitcom “Saved By the Bell”. She is one of four cast members to be carried over from the original Disney Channel show “Good Morning Miss Bliss”. Lark Voorhies’ Early Life
Lark Voorhies was born on March 25th 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee, though she moved to California shortly before she turned two. Her birth name is Lark Holloway. Her mother , Tricia, named her Lark for the character in the film “Cool Breeze” played by Margaret Avery. She got her start in acting at the age of 12, appearing in a commercial for the Universal Studios Tour. She would say in later life that the shoot was one of the most fun she had ever done.
Two years later she guest starred in an episode of “Small Wonder” before landing a recurring role in the Disney Channel comedy “Good Morning Miss Bliss”. For those who don’t know, “Good Morning Miss Bliss” was the original name for the show that would become “Saved By The Bell”. Its focus was on the lives of the teachers at the school. Its rating weren’t good and the show was set to be cancelled, before it was picked up by NBC, retooled and relaunched under the title “Saved By The Bell”.
Lark Voorhies reprised the role of Lisa Turtle in the new show and played the character in every iteration. During her run on “Saved by the Bell” she guested on a variety of shows, including “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and “Getting By”. from 1993 -94 she had a recurring role on the soap “Days of Our Lives” playing the role of Wendy Reardon. Her career in the nineties was filled with guest spots, in the early 200s she made the transition into film. Appearing in a string of indie flicks from 2000 until 2012.
In the mid nineties Lark Voorhies sang in various groups. Her first featured the children of Rebbie Jackson, the eldest of the Jackson children. They were originally called X-Play, but have since named themselves Geneva. She also formed the alternative band Third Degree and acts as their lead singer. She continues to make music to this day.

Lark recently reprised her role as Lisa Turtle, a fashion designer and former student of Bayside High School, in the sitcom Saved by the Bell. A revival of the original series of the same name, it premiered on November 25, 2020, on Peacock, and starred Haskiri Velazquez, Mitchell Hoog, Josie Totah, Alycia Pascual-Pena, and Belmont Cameli, among others. In total, she appeared in three episodes. It was also her first acting role in nearly a decade; she last appeared in the 2012 family film Closer to God: Jessica’s Journey, where she played one of the supporting characters.
Prior to that, she had made a small appearance in the 2008 suspense thriller The Next Hit starring Annabelle Acosta, Rishard Brown, and Rod Bell.
Her lack of acting roles in recent years hasn’t stopped her from participating in various meets and greets, however. Just recently, she held an autograph session in Los Angeles. Not only that, but she also participated in CS Comic Con in Colorado.
In February 2020, she was also featured in an episode of Dr. Oz, where she and her mother talked about some of the challenges that they face living with a mental disorder (Lark has schizoaffective disorder).
