Styes aren’t just ugly, but also painful and annoying. Caused by having blocked pores, these unsightly bumps can make your life hell. However, don’t worry, because there are plenty of natural cures that you can do yourself, at home, to help get rid of them.
Don’t pop it!
To start off with what not to do, don’t try to solve the problem yourself by either popping the sty, or using any kind of blade. Not only do you risk scarring, but this might just make the sty worse and give you even more, as you will just be spreading around the infection.
Patience
Most styes can naturally cure themselves. So, if you can wait, then this is a great way to get rid of them pain free and easily. Most styes will fall away after only a couple of weeks.
Black Tea
This is a natural way to get rid of then, and has another benefit in helping the complexion of your eyes. Just make two cups of black tea throughout the day, and in the evening, and apply the used tea-bags to your face using a sleeping or eye mask. The caffeine will both help any tired eyes look more awake, and also stimulate the pores in your sty and help them to clean themselves out.
Use Gold
If you are rich, or married, you might just have some gold lying around. Believe it or not, simply rubbing
some gold over the affected area can really help with working out the sty. Gold is a great conductor of heat, meaning that the sty will naturally fall off. Rubbing gold over your sty every night can really help out.
Hot compress
One of the main causes of styes, as stated above, is simply blocked pores. So adding a warm compress around your face is both a preventive method and a cure for trying to get rid of these horrible bumps. Just take a cloth of warm water, and cover your face with it as a mask. You should start feeling instant relief! Simply repeat every day.
Boiled Eggs
This works in exactly the same way as a hot compress, but with one added benefit. The egg is exactly the same shape as your eye socket, making it all that much easier to keep the egg on the sty. All you have to do is take a freshly boiled egg, and place it on the area. Plus, you can have a tasty snack afterwards full of natural protein!
Parsley
Another hot compress tip, but this one can also improve the complexion of your skin, as well as removing the sty.
Just take some herbal Parsley leaves, and brew in boiling water just like making a tea. All you have to do next is take a clean cloth, and just like with plain hot water, place it over your affected face. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes.
Fresh Garlic Juice
Garlic has long been known to help to cure common aliments, which is why they were used back in the middle ages to ward off disease. Simply put some freshly pealed cloves in a garlic presser, and extract out the juice over a bowl. Take the remaining liquid, and dab around your eye. It might sting a little bit, but that’s how you know it’s working. The garlic acts as an all natural anti-toxicant and bacteria killer, making short and fast work of your eye sty.
Coriander Seeds
Another great way to try and cure the sty is to use seeds. Coriander is a natural remedy that can help with everything from depression to swellings. To create a Coriander Seed wash, just simply soak some seeds in some water for over an hour. You then have a great face wash you can apply in the morning and in the evening.
Prevention
Once you have removed your sty, one of the key things to do is to make sure that it never appears again. You can do this by adding plenty of Omega-3 to your diet. This wonder chemical, found in natural sources such as fish, promotes blood flow in the eye lids, naturally preventing your styes from coming back.
You should also look out for anything that can trigger your styes. If you wear contact lenses, you might want to think about giving them up for a couple of weeks, until you are sure the infection has gone away. Even if you don’t give them up, make sure that you don’t wear them for any longer than you are meant to, as this is another key thing that can cause styes to return.
You will also need to take care of your makeup. Make sure to never wear it over the night, and change the tools you use to apply it regularly. This will help prevent the sty from returning.
You can also add any of the compresses or face washes to your daily routines. As well as preventing styes, they will really help with your skin complexion, and to solve any bags that you may have under your eye lids, making you look and feel like a new person!
