The first Empire Earth game made its debut 15 years ago and quickly became one of the most popular real-time strategy games. The games, which are often compared to Age of Empires, caught the attention of gamers because they featured a number of nations and expansion packs.

Empire Earth was released in 2001 and was developed by Stainless Steel Studios and published by Sierra Entertainment. The game impressed fans and critics right away, with many giving it good reviews. Sales were really good too, with two million units sold. The success led to an expansion pack and sequels. The game included more than 20 nations and 14 epochs.

Empire Earth got its first expansion pack a year after its release. The expansion pack called Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, brought new campaigns and features to the game. But the release received negative reviews because there were a few issues that were never completely fixed.

In 2003, Empires: Dawn of the Modern World was released. It is not a sequel to Empire Earth but did feature a lot of things from the first game. The game only had nine civilizations this time but still received good reviews.

Empire Earth II, III and Expansion Packs

Empire Earth II was released two years later and was not developed by Stainless Steel Studios. The second game came with weather effects, improved graphics but was similar to the first game. The game was entertaining but the reviews were not as good as previous releases.

In 2006, Empire Earth II received its first expansion pack called Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy. The expansion pack added new civilizations, units, campaigns and features. But the release was disappointing to many fans and critics, who were not happy about the lack of innovation, especially from the campaigns.

The series continued with Empire Earth III and things did not go well. The game, released in 2007, was not well received and contained just five epochs. Critics were not happy with the bugs, combat and a few other things. This would be the last release for the PC.

Mobile Version

Before Empire Earth III, the studio released a mobile version of the game called Empire Earth Mobile. This time, the game was turn-based strategy, making it a little different from the others in the series. The game featured only four types of units and ten campaign levels. This was also the first time that the game did not feature citizens. Empire Earth Mobile has just three game modes, including multiplayer. Empire Earth Mobile continued the success of the first games, receiving good reviews.

The games were great at the beginning, so what went wrong? No one really knows but the reviews got worse and worse with every release. Fans and critics were not happy with the lack of innovation and that continued throughout the last expansion and release.

Empire Earth III was released eight years ago and some fans still want to see a fourth game. The third release was not a success but most of the other games did well. A fourth game has not been announced and the future of the series does not look good.

What happened to the Empire Earth Series – 2026 Update

The Empire Earth Series was renowned for its broad scope, spanning over 500,000 years of world history. However, in the years following its last release, the game series has somewhat faded into the background, leading many fans to question what happened to Empire Earth.

The original Empire Earth, launched in 2001, was a hit among gaming enthusiasts due to its detailed gameplay mechanics and vast historical timeline. Its success spurred the development and release of two sequels: Empire Earth II in 2005 and Empire Earth III in 2007. The Empire Earth Series distinguished itself from other similar games with its unique feature of enabling players to experience multiple epochs within a single game, from the prehistoric age to the nano age.

However, after the release of Empire Earth III, the series seemed to lose momentum. This was primarily due to disappointing sales figures and poor critical reception for this third installment. Unlike its predecessors, Empire Earth III failed to captivate players with its simplified gameplay mechanics and lackluster storyline. This led to a significant decline in its player base and ultimately marked the beginning of a dormant period for the series.

The downfall of the Empire Earth Series was further cemented when Mad Doc Software, the developer behind Empire Earth II and III, was acquired by Rockstar Games in 2008. The acquisition resulted in the discontinuation of any further developments or updates for the series. Furthermore, Sierra Entertainment, the game’s publisher, was absorbed by Activision Blizzard in 2008 which seemed to put an end to any hope for a revival of the Empire Earth Series.

Despite numerous pleas from fans for a reboot or remastering of the original games in recent years, there has been no announcement or indication of any intention to revive the series.

Dalip Singh Rana, known as The Great Khali in WWE, appeared in a 2006 episode of SmackDown and quickly joined the race for the championships. But before his debut as a wrestler and actor, he had other jobs in India.

The Great Khali was actually a security guard before a police officer helped him join the police. The Punjab Police also gave his brother a job. But Dalip Singh Rana also started training in a local gym, where he learned a few things about wrestling. He continued his training and was then selected for more training, this time in the U.S.

Before his SmackDown appearance in 2006, The Great Khali was part of other wrestling promotions for six years. He signed with WWE in 2006 and trained for three months before appearing in his first episode of SmackDown. His first appearance was not for a match, it was to attack The Undertaker. In the following episode, it was revealed by his manager that his name was The Great Khali. A week later, he appeared in his first match and won. Fans were impressed by his size and strength.

Main Event Matches

Khali continued to win matches against Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker. The Great Khali was going to face The Undertaker again at a WWE PPV, but was not medically cleared. The Undertaker then challenged him to a match and the two faced each other after he was medically cleared. The Great Khali lost that match but he was still one of the most dominating superstars in the WWE.

The Great Khali and his manager, Daivari, moved to ECW, when the brand returned in 2006. He was unstoppable in ECW, winning his matches and leaving the brand with a PPV win. He appeared in WWE Raw in January of 2007 and it was announced that he had signed with the brand. He was also given a main event match in the episode. Khali then feuded with Kane and the two superstars faced each other at Wrestlemania 23.

Title Matches, Films and TV Shows

In June of 2007, he was drafted to SmackDown. A month later, he won a Battle Royal for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He held the title for a few months and then joined the race for the WWE Championship. He did not become the number one contender but did feud with other superstars. The Great Khali switched brands a number of times before appearing in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber PPV for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Khali did not win but in December of 2012, he won a twenty man battle royal to become the number one contender for the United States Championship. The following week, he competed for the title but did not win.

In 2014, The Great Khali was part of the Wrestlemania 30 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Khali then competed for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, a match he did not win. In November 2014, his contract with WWE expired and he left the company. The Great Khali was with WWE for eight years, but during that time, he also appeared in a few films and TV shows.

He has been in movies such as The Longest Yard (2005) and Get Smart. The former WWE superstar has also appeared in two Bollywood films. In 2011, he was part of a television reality show, which he finished in second place.

What’s The Great Khali Doing Now in 2026 – Recent Updates

The Great Khali left the WWE in 2014. Following his retirement, he opened up a wrestling school called Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) in Punjab; they later held their first event in December 2015. As of 2026, they are the largest professional wrestling promotion in India, with more than 4.4 million subscribers. Not only that, but they’re also one of the largest training academies in the country. Professional wrestlers Ethan HD, Xavier Justice, Horney, and Matt Static currently serve as trainers for CWE.

The Great Khali owns Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), one of many professional wrestling promotions in India. On YouTube alone, they have more than 4.3 million subscribers

And despite having left the WWE, he has made sporadic appearances over the years. In 2017, he returned to Battleground, WWE’s fifth annual professional wrestling pay-per-view event to assist WWE champion Jinder Mahal in a prison match for the championships. More specifically, he prevented his opponent Randy Orton from leaving the structure, which allowed Mahal to retain his title.

A year later, he participated in The Greatest Royal Rumble match, where he lasted for less than a minute; he was ultimately eliminated by Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman. It would be his last match for WWE.

Fast forward to March 2021 and the former wrestler has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. What else has he been up to? In February 2022, he announced that he had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of the two major political parties in India besides the Indian National Congress.

For his achievements, The Great Khali was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021

In terms of television appearances, he recently appeared in the TV special WrestleMania 37. According to IMDb, he will also be appearing in a number of upcoming films including Zombie Brothel, Raduaa Returns, and Zombie Rome, the latter of which is in the pre-production stages.

The EA Play Live event that EA usually hosts every year will not be happening. The company has confirmed that there will not be one in 2022. IGN received a statement from a representative about the decision. Here’s what it said:

We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you. However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!

For a while now, EA has held an event to show or announce more information on its upcoming projects. The COVID-19 pandemic brought some changes to the event last year. The company decided to stream what it had coming up.

Recent EA Play Live events have brought more information on popular EA games such as the FIFA and Madden series. The event has also seen announcements from other popular games such as Apex Legends.

EA is said to be working on the new lineup of sports games for the Madden, FIFA, and other sports series. Respawn, one of its studios, is reportedly working on various Star Wars games.

Tuesday was an interesting day for numerous NFL teams. A star QB was traded in what is now one of the biggest moves ever while a number of players are staying with franchise tags or new deals. Here’s what happened around the league:

Aaron Rodgers Returning To Packers

Reports say Aaron Rodgers is returning to his team with a huge deal that would make him one of the highest paid players in the league. Rodgers has been with the team for all of his NFL career but it was unclear if he was staying due to the team’s situation. The Packers have a lot of players that will be free agents but the team appears to have kept at least two stars.

The extension mentioned in the reports is for four years. Rumors had previously mentioned that teams such as the Broncos were interested in trading for the QB.

Davante Adams, Chris Godwin Get Franchise Tagged

Two of the top free agents at the WR position will be staying with their teams. Adams and Godwin were both franchise tagged on Tuesday. Reports had mentioned that the teams would likely use their franchise tags on them.

Adams and Godwin are both playing for teams that have numerous questions on offense and defense. Both teams have several free agents so the franchise tag is not exactly a surprise.

Russell Wilson Traded To Broncos

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to trade Russell Wilson to the Broncos. The move was one of the most shocking of Tuesday since many thought it wouldn’t happen this early. Here’s the trade (from ESPN):

The Broncos have agreed to trade quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks (2022 — No. 9 overall — and 2023), two second-round picks (2022 — No. 40 overall — and 2023) and a 2022 fifth-round selection to the Seahawks for Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick, sources said.

The trade gives the Broncos the star QB they had been looking for. On the other side, Seattle gets a number of picks and two players. The team appears to be headed for a rebuild as they have just traded their QB and announced they will be releasing a key member of the defense.

Just hours after the trade was announced, the team said it was releasing Bobby Wagner. The star linebacker has made eight Pro Bowls in his career.

Dallas Cowboys Rework Prescott and Martin Deals

The Dallas Cowboys announced the contract restructure of Dak Prescott and Zack Martin. The move creates $22 million in cap room.

Here’s what ESPN says on the moves:

The Prescott move was already planned when the quarterback signed his big deal last year. The Cowboys added two voidable years to Martin’s contract to allow them the chance to get more space this year. Prescott had a salary-cap figure of $34.45 million, and Martin’s cap number was $20.191 million.

The Cowboys are rumored to be releasing star WR Amari Cooper. The team traded for him years back but the tough cap situation is said to be one of the reasons that the Cowboys are looking to release him. The Cowboys have a number of free agents coming up and the release and restructures could help the team bring some players back. The team also placed the franchise tag on tight end Dalton Schultz.

Chargers and WR Mike Williams Agree To $60M Deal

The Chargers are keeping WR Mike Williams with a three year $60 million deal. Williams is coming off a great season and the deal helps the team keep both of their star WRs.

The contract is worth $60 million over three years and includes $40 million guaranteed and $28 million in Year 1, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Williams made a base salary of $15.68 million last season after the Chargers picked up his fifth-year option.

Titans Sign LB Landry To 5 Year Deal

The Titans have announced a deal for LB Harold Landry. The deal was agreed by both sides on Tuesday night, according to reports. Here’s what ESPN says on the move:

The team didn’t reveal financial terms, but a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that it’s a five-year, $87.5 million contract that includes $52.5 million guaranteed.

The deal came hours after the deadline to place the franchise tag on potential free agents.

Chile’s Health Ministry has announced mobility restrictions in Santiago’s Metropolitan Region and other areas in the country following a rise in cases of the Omicron variant.

The announcement on Monday limits seating capacity in events and public spaces. In recent days, the country has seen a rise in cases after seeing a drop some time before.

Chile took action at the start of the pandemic and quickly introduced mobility restrictions across Santiago and the rest of the country. The South American country also became one of the fastest to bring vaccines to its population.

A large part of the population is now getting its third vaccine or waiting for the fourth, which was announced weeks back and is already being offered to some. At the start of January, the country’s mobility pass, which allows people to enter crowded areas and other public spaces, was suspended for those who only had two vaccines. The pass can be reactivated in a few hours by getting the third vaccine.

Like many countries around the world, Chile had started heading back to life before the pandemic. Most businesses and restaurants reopened in 2021. But the latest rise in cases has once again brought some of the restrictions.

PlayStation Now is a service that offers a long lineup of games from the PS4, PS3, and even PS2. Those subscribed to the service will find a couple of options when attempting to play a game, stream and download.

If you’re wondering how this all works, here we’ll explain what each option does:

PlayStation Now can be easily accessed through the PS home screen. On the PS5, there is a separate app for it that is displayed on the home menu when the subscription is active. Once in there, members can browse through collections or consoles separately.

One of the more noticeable options is the search by console. There is a PS4, PS3, and PS2 window that shows all the titles available. The PS2 titles were those that were brought in for the PS4 so there isn’t a long lineup here.

Streaming

On the PS3 side, members will find that the games there only have one option, stream. This is kind of a negative for those who don’t have strong internet or live out of the regions that the service is available in. Selecting the option will let you play the game right away but this is far from perfect. Those who have good internet and live in the regions where it is available will probably not have major issues with most of the games.

Downloading To Your Console

There is another option, mostly available for PS4/PS2 titles. Download lets members get the games on their system, similar to the process of downloading a title from PS Plus. The games are there as long as the subscription is active and the service continues to feature them. Every month, the service brings in new titles but also removes some.

The download option is great to have the game on the system. The only negative is that there will be less space on your console since you’re downloading it instead of just streaming. There is also no PS5 titles at the moment. But that is not a surprise since the console is still new and the lineup is somewhat limited.

Plans

PS Now has been around for some time now but the service is nowhere near PS Plus. In recent weeks, reports have revealed that there could be major changes in the near future. PS Now and PS Plus are currently separate services but the reports have mentioned a change that would combine both services under the PS Plus name.

The reports add that the service could offer different options when it comes to the subscription. All of this has sparked a ton of questions on how it will work, if it does happen. PS Plus is available pretty much everywhere, allowing members to get free games every month and play online. But PS Now is not, the service is available in the US and a few other parts of the world. This has people wondering if Sony plans to expand the service or simply offer the different options in the regions where it is available now.

There have been rumors that the changes could come as early as this year. PS Now and PS Plus have always been separate services but this makes a lot of sense, especially with all the success of the Xbox Game Pass in recent years.

It Takes Two is a fun co-op game that will take you through numerous levels, including space, a room full of toys, and a garden. But there’s a lot to find if you like to take your time with games and explore everything. Most players won’t find these in one single playthrough, mainly because they are well hidden in the levels. Here are the references and Easter eggs you probably missed on It Takes Two:

A Way Out Characters

Hazelight Studios is behind It Takes Two and there are some things that the studio has hidden in the levels to remind us of previous projects. One of the cool little things that the studio has hidden can be found early on in the game.

In one of the levels, you’ll be running around a bunch of pillows and other objects. At one point, you’ll see that the level features a different way where you can climb and reach another section. The Easter egg can be found on the left side of the map inside a really small area. Inside, you get to see the characters from A Way Out. The 2018 co-op game is from the same studio so they are there for players to see. Leo and Vincent are right next to each other and their voice lines can be activated by jumping and sitting on the button. Achievement and trophy hunters can push the button at the same time to unlock a trophy/achievement.

Rainbow Road

Towards the end of the game, players will go on a journey across several tracks and cool looking sections. One of those is just like Rainbow Road, the tracks that appear on every Mario Kart game. It is one of the easiest Easter eggs to spot if you have played Mario Kart before.

The Doll Says Bye With the Thumbs Up

At one point of the game, you’ll see it turn into an action RPG. Both characters will be running around with different types of powers and ways to get across the walls and obstacles. Towards the end, a giant doll starts crushing everything behind you, making you run to safety. The section ends with the doll seeing the platform collapse, sending it into a pool of fire. The doll goes down but not before showing a thumbs up, similar to the scene in Terminator 2. The whole thing lasts a couple of seconds so it can easily be missed.

Zelda

In the section of the game where you find the Helltower and numerous mini games, there is a little boat that both players can get on. The boat takes players around the town but in the tunnel, they can stop, hop out, and enter a door. Inside, they’ll find a number of breakable pots and jars that will throw out little stones that look like Rupees from the Zelda games.

Helltower Has an Achievement/Trophy

In the same town where you find the Zelda Easter egg, you’ll find the Helltower. The tower does not require to be completed for the game to advance. But those looking to complete the game to 100 percent will have to reach the top. It doesn’t look difficult at first glance but the tower is pretty high and it has a number of rotating platforms that go in and out.

The first part of the tower is pretty difficult and the second part doesn’t get any easier. Players have to be very careful if they want to reach the top. Once up there, they’ll get the Platform Prodigy achievement/trophy. They can also activate some fireworks as a celebration for reaching the top.

It Takes Two, released in March of this year, is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. The game was recently added to the EA Play lineup.
