How to View Snapchats Without the Other Person Knowing – 2024 Guide

If you have ever wanted to view a Snapchat message or a Snapchat story without the other person knowing, you only have a few options available. Due to Snapchat’s security and the nature of the app being always connected to the servers, this is a little more difficult to accomplish, but there are a couple easy methods that you can use to accomplish this. Check out our tips and tricks below for viewing snapchats without the other person knowing!

Can You View Snapchats Without Someone Knowing in 2024?

If you want to view someone’s snapchats without them knowing, there are a few working methods to do it. Take a look at the options below and give them a try.

Option 1: View the Story at the End

By far, the most simple way to view a Snapchat story without the other party knowing is to view the story at the end. Snapchat Stories last for 24 hours from the time of posting it, although the host of the Story can view all friends that viewed the story. Your most proper solution here is to view the story as it is close to expiring, giving the host little chance to view your name among the list of visitors. Stories are a lot like messages, and will always notify the viewer if you want to capture a moment in the Snapchat story – even if you take a screenshot at the end.

Option 2: Enter Airplane Mode

This trick works on both iOS and Android. Snapchat will cache the image or video to your phone and allow for the viewing of it while the application is open, but due to not being connected to the servers, will not send a notification that you viewed either the story or the message. This method is dependent on the device not having downloaded the message or story yet, so if you already have it downloaded, you may not be able to do this method.

Navigate to the Conversations tab by swiping right on the screen. Allow the message or snap to fully load if it hasn’t already. Once it’s finished loading, you should see a pink square and a ‘New Snap’ label.

Next, put your device on airplane mode. If you’re using an iOS device, open the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. From there, tap on the airplane icon—it should turn orange. If you’re using an Android device, open your quick settings by swiping down from the top of the screen. Tap on the airplane icon and it’ll turn blue.

Now that you’re no longer online, you can view your friend’s snap or message without them knowing. Simply tap on their name in the app.

When you’re finished viewing the snap, clear the cache within the Snapchat app. To do this, tap on your profile icon. Next, tap on the gear icon to open up the ‘Settings’ tab. Scroll down to the ‘Account Actions’ section and tap on ‘Clear Cache’. Tap ‘Okay’ to confirm and you’re good to go.

Note: If you don’t clear your cache afterward, your friend will see the ‘Opened’ label even if you viewed the snap while on airplane mode. If you clear your cache, all they’ll see is a ‘Delivered’ label under your username.

Once you’ve done all that, you can turn airplane mode off. Simply tap on the airplane icon again in the control center/quick settings menu.

Option 3: Use a Third-Party App

There are several third-party apps that you can use if you want to open a snap without the other user knowing. For example, if you use Cocospy, mSpy, KidsGuard Pro, or uMobix.

How to Use Cocospy (Available for iOS and Android Devices)

Once you’ve downloaded the app (you’ll have to pay for a subscription), follow the on-screen instructions. Sign into the home page and select the ‘Social Apps’ tab on the left-hand side of the window. Choose ‘Snapchat’ from the dropdown menu and you’ll be able to access all of your messages and snaps without the other party knowing.

How to Use mSpy (Available for iOS Devices)

Go to their official website and create an account. You’ll also need to pay for a subscription. Once you’ve got the app set up, you’ll be able to see all of your snaps remotely.

How to Use KidsGuard Pro (Available for Android DeviceS)

Create a new account and pay for a subscription. Download KidsGuard Pro to your desired device and sign in to the app (the icon will be invisible on your home screen). Select ‘Social Apps’ from the main menu and choose the ‘Snapchat’ option. That’ll allow you to see all your Snapchat activities.

Does the Half-Swipe Method Still Work in 2024?

Previously, you were able to view snaps without the other person knowing by half swiping on a message. Unfortunately, this no longer works as of 2024. Snapchat has updated the app so that when you half-swipe, your Bitmoji will appear in the chat. In other words, the person will know that you’re looking at their message.
