James Martin answers the question by saying that the wine industry is needs companies like Copa di Vino to service them for niche needs. According to James Martin, the industry doesn’t want to invest in the equipment and learn how to make wine by the glass.

Mark Cuban states that James Martin is setting up prove of concept, because the wine industry has seen many concepts fail so many times before.

Daymond John states that there is a believe that pioneers get slaughtered and settlers prosper, and with that said, Daymond John believes that Copa di Vino is too premature for him to invest in it. Daymond John doesn’t want to make an offer and states that he is out.

Kevin O’Leary asks James Martin if there is a way to take the patent out of Copa di Vino”

Kevin O’Leary states that he really likes the patent that James Martin owns.

Robert Herjavec asks James Martin if there is a way to separate the licensing, the intellectual property, from the wine business itself”

James Martin answers the question by saying that it is always a possibility.

Mark Cuban states that if James Martin could come back to him with an offer for the patent alone, he would be very much interested in that. Mark Cuban continues by stating that Copa di Vino and the wine business could still be James Martin’s to do what he wants with it.

James Martin states that Mark Cuban could resell Copa di Vino wine by the glass in his stadium, because the amount of people that visit the stadium rises every single year.

Mark Cuban responds by saying that it is not lost to him that he could resell Copa di Vino wine by the glass products, but he doesn’t want to be in the commission sales business.

Kevin O’Leary asks James Martin if he would give him a check of six hundred thousand dollars, what kind of percentage on the patent he would get”

James Martin answers the question by saying that Kevin O’Leary would get twenty percent.

Kevin O’Leary responds by saying that twenty percent is not enough.

Barbara Corcoran states that she doesn’t think she will be able to bring anything to the table, even if she wanted to partner up with James Martin. Barbara Corcoran is out as well.

Kevin O’Leary states that the real value in Copa di Vino is the intellectual property, because if you really own that, the category of wine by the glass will explode, and James Martin will make money every single time that somebody rips off the top of one of the glasses.

Kevin O’Leary asks James Martin if he could focus on the intellectual property and tell him how much he would sell him for six hundred thousand dollars”

James Martin answers the question by saying that the reality of what Kevin O’Leary is asking is some of the competitive advantages that he has as a brand and a bottler. James Martin continues by saying that he is currently not ready to give away his patent.

Kevin O’Leary states that he will worry about everything, and that he will be able to sleep at night. At the same time, James Martin will be able to worry about his brand and bottling, but Kevin O’Leary will be in charge of the licensing.

James Martin responds by saying that the opportunity is far greater than that.

Mark Cuban states that the deal that Kevin O’Leary made is far better than what he would have offered himself. The reason for that is that James Martin could take the six hundred thousand dollars and use it as he pleases, and at the same time accomplish everything that he wants to accomplish with Copa di Vino. Kevin O’Leary states that he is a dream come true for James Martin.

James Martin responds by saying that he knows it is a great opportunity for him, but states that he has also put a million dollars of his own money into Copa di Vino. It would be insane to go ahead and sell the controlling share of the most important part of his company to someone else, and he has really no reason to do that, when he can be in charge of all of it.

Copa di Vino Now In 2024 – After Shark Tank Updates

They might not have landed a deal with the sharks but that didn’t stop them from growing. Shortly after appearing on the show, they landed several distribution deals with a variety of retailers. In fact, they were selling “very well” during the summer of 2012, according to a Boston area distributor.

By 2015, they were making nearly $20 million in annual sales, with the company valued at approximately $70 million.

Fast forward to 2021 and it was announced that the company had been acquired by Splash Beverage Group, Inc, a distributor and manufacturer of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, for an undisclosed amount. At the time, the company was pulling in $2 million in annual revenue. And by 2022, the brand was making more than $6 million a year.

There were some issues with one of their distributors, however. More specifically, with the New York-based 3G’s Vino. Established in 2012 by Joseph Falcone, the distributor had taken the fame that Copa di Vino had from Shark Tank and ran with it, using the reality show’s credit to secure his own investors. According to the Department of Justice, they went as far as defrauding them out of more than half a million dollars. Fortunately, justice has been served as he’s been sentenced to two years behind bars.

The good news is that the investigation didn’t affect Copa di Vino itself. In fact, they weren’t even mentioned in court, which is probably a good thing.

As of 2024, Copa Di Vino is still in business. If anything, they’re just as popular as ever. Nowadays, they offer several types of wine including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, White Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Moscato, Red Blend, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, and Riesling, and like before, they all come in their own individual cups. Those who are interested in the beverages can purchase them directly on their website. They’re available in cases (12 glasses of 6.3 oz) for $35.99.

  1. The update is not good. There is no information if his product sells good or bad.
Paige Turner is apparently a great journalist… NOT

  2. Looked like an amazing product. I seen the sharks invest in some dubious questionable products like Shakespear CDs but a clearly extremely successful multi-million dollar wine business was not good enough? Short sighted.
